17:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ταῦτα ἐλάλησεν Ἰησοῦς , καὶ ἐπάρας τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτοῦ εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν εἶπεν · πάτερ , ἐλήλυθεν ἡ ὥρα · δόξασόν σου τὸν υἱόν , ἵνα ὁ υἱὸς δοξάσῃ σέ ,
Haec locutus est Jesus : et sublevatis oculis in caelum , dixit : Pater , venit hora : clarifica Filium tuum , ut Filius tuus clarificet te :
ወዘንተ ነገረ ተናጊሮ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ አንሥአ አዕይንቲሁ ውስተ ሰማይ ወይቤ አባ በጽሐ ጊዜሁ ከመ ትሰብሖ ለወልድከ ወከመ ወልድከኒ ይሰብሕከ ።
Jesus said these things, then lifting up his eyes to heaven, he said, “Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may also glorify you;
17:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ καθὼς ἔδωκας αὐτῷ ἐξουσίαν πάσης σαρκός , ἵνα πᾶν ὃ δέδωκας αὐτῷ δώσῃ αὐτοῖς ζωὴν αἰώνιον .
sicut dedisti ei potestatem omnis carnis , ut omne , quod dedisti ei , det eis vitam aeternam .
በከመ አኰነንኮ ላዕለ ኵሉ ዘሥጋ ወነፍስ ከመ የሀቦሙ ሕይወተ ዘለዓለም ለኵሎሙ እለ ወሀብካሁ ።
even as you gave him authority over all flesh, so he will give eternal life to all whom you have given him.
17:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ αὕτη δέ ἐστιν ἡ αἰώνιος ζωή , ἵνα γινώσκωσιν σὲ τὸν μόνον ἀληθινὸν θεὸν καὶ ὃν ἀπέστειλας Ἰησοῦν Χριστόν .
Haec est autem vita aeterna : ut cognoscant te , solum Deum verum , et quem misisti Jesum Christum .
ወዛቲ ይእቲ ሕይወት ዘለዓለም ከመ ያእምሩከ ለከ ለአሐዱ ዘበአማን አምላከ ጽድቅ ባሕቲትከ ወለዘፈነውኮ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ወልድከ ።
This is eternal life, that they should know you, the only true God, and him whom you sent, Jesus Christ.
17:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐγώ σε ἐδόξασα ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς , τὸ ἔργον τελειώσας ὃ δέδωκάς μοι ἵνα ποιήσω ·
Ego te clarificavi super terram : opus consummavi , quod dedisti mihi ut faciam :
አንሰ ሰባሕኩከ በዲበ ምድር ፈጺምየ ግብረ ዘወሀብከኒ ከመ እግበር ።
I glorified you on the earth. I have accomplished the work which you have given me to do.
17:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ νῦν δόξασόν με σύ , πάτερ , παρὰ σεαυτῷ τῇ δόξῃ ᾗ εἶχον πρὸ τοῦ τὸν κόσμον εἶναι παρὰ σοί .
et nunc clarifica me tu , Pater , apud temetipsum , claritate quam habui , priusquam mundus esset , apud te .
ወይእዜኒ አንተ አባ ሰብሐኒ በስብሐትየ ዘሀሎ ምስሌከ እምቅድመ ይትፈጠር ዓለም ።
Now, Father, glorify me with your own self with the glory which I had with you before the world existed.
17:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἐφανέρωσά σου τὸ ὄνομα τοῖς ἀνθρώποις οὓς ἔδωκάς μοι ἐκ τοῦ κόσμου . σοὶ ἦσαν καὶ ἐμοὶ αὐτοὺς ἔδωκας , καὶ τὸν λόγον σου τετήρηκαν ·
Manifestavi nomen tuum hominibus , quos dedisti mihi de mundo : tui erant , et mihi eos dedisti : et sermonem tuum servaverunt .
ወነገርኩ ስመከ ለሰብእ ለእለ ወሀብከኒ እምዓለም እስመ እሊኣከ እሙንቱ ወሊተ ወሀብከኒዮሙ ወዐቀቡ ቃለከ ።
“I revealed your name to the people whom you have given me out of the world. They were yours, and you have given them to me. They have kept your word.
17:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ νῦν ἔγνωκαν ὅτι πάντα ὅσα δέδωκάς μοι παρὰ σοῦ εἰσίν ·
Nunc cognoverunt quia omnia quae dedisti mihi , abs te sunt :
ወይእዜኒ አእመሩ ከመ ኵሉ ዘወሀብከኒ እምኀቤከ ውእቱ ።
Now they have known that all things whatever you have given me are from you,
17:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὅτι τὰ ῥήματα ἃ ἔδωκάς μοι δέδωκα αὐτοῖς , καὶ αὐτοὶ ἔλαβον , καὶ ἔγνωσαν ἀληθῶς ὅτι παρὰ σοῦ ἐξῆλθον , καὶ ἐπίστευσαν ὅτι σύ με ἀπέστειλας .
quia verba quae dedisti mihi , dedi eis : et ipsi acceperunt , et cognoverunt vere quia a te exivi , et crediderunt quia tu me misisti .
እስመ ወሀብክዎሙ ቃለ ዘወሀብከኒ ወእሙንቱሂ ነሢኦሙ አማን አእመሩ ከመ እምኀቤከ ወፃእኩ ወአምኑ ከመ አንተ ፈነውከኒ ።
for the words which you have given me I have given to them; and they received them, and knew for sure that I came from you. They have believed that you sent me.
17:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐγὼ περὶ αὐτῶν ἐρωτῶ · οὐ περὶ τοῦ κόσμου ἐρωτῶ , ἀλλὰ περὶ ὧν δέδωκάς μοι , ὅτι σοί εἰσίν ,
Ego pro eis rogo ; non pro mundo rogo , sed pro his quos dedisti mihi : quia tui sunt :
ወአንሰ በእንቲኣሆሙ እስእል ወአኮ በእንተ ዓለም ዘእስእለከ አላ በእንተ እለ ወሀብከኒ እስመ እሊኣከ እሙንቱ ።
I pray for them. I don’t pray for the world, but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours.
17:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ τὰ ἐμὰ πάντα σά ἐστιν καὶ τὰ σὰ ἐμά , καὶ δεδόξασμαι ἐν αὐτοῖς .
et mea omnia tua sunt , et tua mea sunt : et clarificatus sum in eis .
ወኵሉ ዘዚኣየ ዚኣከ ውእቱ ወዘዚኣከኒ ዚኣየ ውእቱ ወተሰባሕኩ ቦሙ ።
All things that are mine are yours, and yours are mine, and I am glorified in them.
17:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ οὐκέτι εἰμὶ ἐν τῷ κόσμῳ , καὶ αὐτοὶ ἐν τῷ κόσμῳ εἰσίν , κἀγὼ πρὸς σὲ ἔρχομαι . πάτερ ἅγιε , τήρησον αὐτοὺς ἐν τῷ ὀνόματί σου ᾧ δέδωκάς μοι , ἵνα ὦσιν ἓν καθὼς ἡμεῖς .
Et jam non sum in mundo , et hi in mundo sunt , et ego ad te venio . Pater sancte , serva eos in nomine tuo , quos dedisti mihi : ut sint unum , sicut et nos .
ወኢይሄሉ እንከ ውስተ ዓለም ወእሙንቱሰ ውስተ ዓለም ይሄልዉ ወአንሰ ኀቤከ እመጽእ ኦ አባ ቅዱስ ዕቀቦሙ በስምከ ለእለ ወሀብከኒ ከመ ይኩኑ አሐደ ብነ ከማነ ።
I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them through your name which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are.
17:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὅτε ἤμην μετ’ αὐτῶν ἐγὼ ἐτήρουν αὐτοὺς ἐν τῷ ὀνόματί σου ᾧ δέδωκάς μοι , καὶ ἐφύλαξα , καὶ οὐδεὶς ἐξ αὐτῶν ἀπώλετο εἰ μὴ ὁ υἱὸς τῆς ἀπωλείας , ἵνα ἡ γραφὴ πληρωθῇ .
Cum essem cum eis , ego servabam eos in nomine tuo . Quos dedisti mihi , custodivi : et nemo ex eis periit , nisi filius perditionis , ut Scriptura impleatur .
አመሰ ሀሎኩ አነ ምስሌሆሙ ውስተ ዓለም ዐቀብክዎሙ በስምከ ለእለ ወሀብከኒ ናሁ ዐቀብክዎሙ ወተማሕፀንክዎሙ ወኢተኀጕለ አሐዱሂ እምኔሆሙ ዘእንበለ ወልደ ኀጕል ከመ ይብጻሕ ቃለ መጽሐፍ ።
While I was with them in the world, I kept them in your name. I have kept those whom you have given me. None of them is lost except the son of destruction, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.
17:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ νῦν δὲ πρὸς σὲ ἔρχομαι , καὶ ταῦτα λαλῶ ἐν τῷ κόσμῳ ἵνα ἔχωσιν τὴν χαρὰν τὴν ἐμὴν πεπληρωμένην ἐν ἑαυτοῖς .
Nunc autem ad te venio : et haec loquor in mundo , ut habeant gaudium meum impletum in semetipsis .
ወይእዜሰ ባሕቱ እመጽእ ኀቤከ ወዘንተ እነግር ውስተ ዓለም ከመ ይኩን ፍሥሓየ ፍጹመ በላዕሌሆሙ ።
But now I come to you, and I say these things in the world, that they may have my joy made full in themselves.
17:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐγὼ δέδωκα αὐτοῖς τὸν λόγον σου , καὶ ὁ κόσμος ἐμίσησεν αὐτούς , ὅτι οὐκ εἰσὶν ἐκ τοῦ κόσμου καθὼς ἐγὼ οὐκ εἰμὶ ἐκ τοῦ κόσμου .
Ego dedi eis sermonem tuum , et mundus eos odio habuit , quia non sunt de mundo , sicut et ego non sum de mundo .
ወአንሰ ፈጺምየ ወሀብክዎሙ ቃለከ ወዓለምሰ ጸልኦሙ እስመ ኢኮኑ እሙንቱ እምዓለም በከመ ኢኮንኩ አነ እምዓለም ።
I have given them your word. The world hated them because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
17:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὐκ ἐρωτῶ ἵνα ἄρῃς αὐτοὺς ἐκ τοῦ κόσμου ἀλλ’ ἵνα τηρήσῃς αὐτοὺς ἐκ τοῦ πονηροῦ .
Non rogo ut tollas eos de mundo , sed ut serves eos a malo .
አኮ ዘእስእለከ ከመ ትንሥኦሙ እምዓለም ዘእንበለ ዳእሙ ከመ ትዕቀቦሙ እምእኩይ ።
I pray not that you would take them from the world, but that you would keep them from the evil one.
17:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐκ τοῦ κόσμου οὐκ εἰσὶν καθὼς ἐγὼ οὐκ εἰμὶ ἐκ τοῦ κόσμου .
De mundo non sunt , sicut et ego non sum de mundo .
እስመ እሙንቱ ኢኮኑ እምዓለም በከመ ኢኮንኩ አነ እምዓለም ።
They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
17:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἁγίασον αὐτοὺς ἐν τῇ ἀληθείᾳ · ὁ λόγος ὁ σὸς ἀλήθειά ἐστιν .
Sanctifica eos in veritate . Sermo tuus veritas est .
ቀድሶሙ በጽድቅከ እስመ ጽድቅ ውእቱ ቃልከ ።
Sanctify them in your truth. Your word is truth.
17:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ καθὼς ἐμὲ ἀπέστειλας εἰς τὸν κόσμον , κἀγὼ ἀπέστειλα αὐτοὺς εἰς τὸν κόσμον ·
Sicut tu me misisti in mundum , et ego misi eos in mundum :
በከመ ፈነውከኒ ውስተ ዓለም ኪያየ አነኒ ፈነውክዎሙ ውስተ ዓለም ።
As you sent me into the world, even so I have sent them into the world.
17:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ὑπὲρ αὐτῶν ἁγιάζω ἐμαυτόν , ἵνα ὦσιν καὶ αὐτοὶ ἡγιασμένοι ἐν ἀληθείᾳ .
et pro eis ego sanctifico meipsum : ut sint et ipsi sanctificati in veritate .
ወበእንቲኣሆሙ አነ እቄድስ ርእስየ ከመ ይኩኑ እሙንቱኒ ቅዱሳነ በጽድቅ ።
For their sakes I sanctify myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth.
17:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ Οὐ περὶ τούτων δὲ ἐρωτῶ μόνον , ἀλλὰ καὶ περὶ τῶν πιστευόντων διὰ τοῦ λόγου αὐτῶν εἰς ἐμέ ,
Non pro eis autem rogo tantum , sed et pro eis qui credituri sunt per verbum eorum in me :
ወአኮ በእንተ እሉ ባሕቲቶሙ ዘእስእለከ አላ በእንተሂ እለ የአምኑ ብየ በቃሎሙ ።
“Not for these only do I pray, but for those also who will believe in me through their word,
17:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἵνα πάντες ἓν ὦσιν , καθὼς σύ πατὴρ ἐν ἐμοὶ κἀγὼ ἐν σοί , ἵνα καὶ αὐτοὶ ἐν ἡμῖν ὦσιν , ἵνα ὁ κόσμος πιστεύῃ ὅτι σύ με ἀπέστειλας .
ut omnes unum sint , sicut tu Pater in me , et ego in te , ut et ipsi in nobis unum sint : ut credat mundus , quia tu me misisti .
ከመ ይኩኑ አሐደ ኵሎሙ በከመ አንተ አብ ብየ ወአነሂ ብከ ከመ ይኩኑ እሙንቱሂ አሐደ ብነ ከማነ ከመ ይእመን ዓለም ከመ አንተ ፈነውከኒ ።
that they may all be one; even as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be one in us; that the world may believe that you sent me.
17:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ κἀγὼ τὴν δόξαν ἣν δέδωκάς μοι δέδωκα αὐτοῖς , ἵνα ὦσιν ἓν καθὼς ἡμεῖς ἕν ·
Et ego claritatem , quam dedisti mihi , dedi eis : ut sint unum , sicut et nos unum sumus .
ወአነሂ ወሀብክዎሙ ቃለከ ዘወሀብከኒ ከመ ይኩኑ አሐደ ከማነ በከመ አሐዱ ንሕነ ።
The glory which you have given me, I have given to them, that they may be one, even as we are one,
17:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐγὼ ἐν αὐτοῖς καὶ σὺ ἐν ἐμοί , ἵνα ὦσιν τετελειωμένοι εἰς ἕν , ἵνα γινώσκῃ ὁ κόσμος ὅτι σύ με ἀπέστειλας καὶ ἠγάπησας αὐτοὺς καθὼς ἐμὲ ἠγάπησας .
Ego in eis , et tu in me : ut sint consummati in unum : et cognoscat mundus quia tu me misisti , et dilexisti eos , sicut et me dilexisti .
ወአነሂ ቦሙ ወአንተሂ ብየ ከመ ይኩኑ ፍጹማነ በአሐዱ ከመ ያእምር ዓለም ከመ አንተ ፈነውከኒ ወአፍቀርክዎሙ አነ በከመ አንተ ኪያየ አፍቀርከኒ ።
I in them, and you in me, that they may be perfected into one, that the world may know that you sent me and loved them, even as you loved me.
17:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ πατήρ , ὃ δέδωκάς μοι , θέλω ἵνα ὅπου εἰμὶ ἐγὼ κἀκεῖνοι ὦσιν μετ’ ἐμοῦ , ἵνα θεωρῶσιν τὴν δόξαν τὴν ἐμήν , ἣν δέδωκάς μοι , ὅτι ἠγάπησάς με πρὸ καταβολῆς κόσμου .
Pater , quos dedisti mihi , volo ut ubi sum ego , et illi sint mecum : ut videant claritatem meam , quam dedisti mihi : quia dilexisti me ante constitutionem mundi .
አባ እለሰ ወሀብከኒ እፈቅድ ከመ የሀልዉ ኀበ ሀሎኩ አነ ምስሌየ ከመ ይርእዩ ስብሐትየ ዘወሀብከኒ እስመ አፍቀርከኒ እምቅድመ ይትፈጠር ዓለም ።
Father, I desire that they also whom you have given me be with me where I am, that they may see my glory which you have given me, for you loved me before the foundation of the world.
17:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ πατήρ δίκαιε , καὶ ὁ κόσμος σε οὐκ ἔγνω , ἐγὼ δέ σε ἔγνων , καὶ οὗτοι ἔγνωσαν ὅτι σύ με ἀπέστειλας ·
Pater juste , mundus te non cognovit , ego autem te cognovi : et hi cognoverunt , quia tu me misisti .
አባ ጻድቅ ወዓለምሰ ኢያእመረከ ወአንሰ አእመርኩከ ወእሉሂ አእመሩከ ከመ አንተ ፈነውከኒ ።
Righteous Father, the world hasn’t known you, but I knew you; and these knew that you sent me.
17:26 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐγνώρισα αὐτοῖς τὸ ὄνομά σου καὶ γνωρίσω , ἵνα ἡ ἀγάπη ἣν ἠγάπησάς με ἐν αὐτοῖς ᾖ κἀγὼ ἐν αὐτοῖς .
Et notum feci eis nomen tuum , et notum faciam : ut dilectio , qua dilexisti me , in ipsis sit , et ego in ipsis .
ወነገርክዎሙ ስመከ ወዓዲ እነግሮሙ ከመ የሀሉ ኀቤሆሙ ፍቅር ዘአፍቀርከኒ ወአነሂ እሄሉ ምስሌሆሙ ።
I made known to them your name, and will make it known; that the love with which you loved me may be in them, and I in them.”
