3:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּשְׁכֵּם֩ יְהוֹשֻׁ֨עַ בַּבֹּ֜קֶר וַיִּסְע֣וּ מֵהַשִּׁטִּ֗ים וַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙ עַד ־הַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן ה֖וּא וְכׇל ־בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיָּלִ֥נוּ שָׁ֖ם טֶ֥רֶם יַעֲבֹֽרוּ ׃
καὶ ὤρθρισεν Ἰησοῦς τὸ πρωί καὶ ἀπῆραν ἐκ Σαττιν καὶ ἤλθοσαν ἕως τοῦ Ιορδάνου καὶ κατέλυσαν ἐκεῖ πρὸ τοῦ διαβῆναι
Igitur Josue de nocte consurgens movit castra : egredientesque de Setim , venerunt ad Jordanem ipse et omnes filii Israël , et morati sunt ibi tres dies .
ወጌሠ ፡ በጽባሕ ፡ ኢየሱስ ፡ ወግዕዙ ፡ እምነ ፡ ሳጢን ፡ ወበጽሑ ፡ እስከ ፡ ዮርዳንስ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ወኵሉ ፡ ደቂቀ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ወኀደሩ ፡ ህየ ፡ እንበለ ፡ ይዕድው ።
Joshua got up early in the morning; and they moved from Shittim and came to the Jordan, he and all the children of Israel. They camped there before they crossed over.
3:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְהִ֕י מִקְצֵ֖ה שְׁלֹ֣שֶׁת יָמִ֑ים וַיַּעַבְר֥וּ הַשֹּׁטְרִ֖ים בְּקֶ֥רֶב הַֽמַּחֲנֶֽה ׃
καὶ ἐγένετο μετὰ τρεῖς ἡμέρας διῆλθον οἱ γραμματεῖς διὰ τῆς παρεμβολῆς
Quibus evolutis transierunt praecones per castrorum medium ,
ወእምድኅረ ፡ ሠሉስ ፡ መዋዕል ፡ ቦኡ ፡ ጸሐፍት ፡ ማእከለ ፡ ትዕይንት ።
After three days, the officers went through the middle of the camp;
3:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְצַוּוּ֮ אֶת ־הָעָ֣ם לֵאמֹר֒ כִּרְאֹתְכֶ֗ם אֵ֣ת אֲר֤וֹן בְּרִית ־יְהֹוָה֙ אֱלֹ֣הֵיכֶ֔ם וְהַכֹּֽהֲנִים֙ הַלְוִיִּ֔ם נֹשְׂאִ֖ים אֹת֑וֹ וְאַתֶּ֗ם תִּסְעוּ֙ מִמְּק֣וֹמְכֶ֔ם וַהֲלַכְתֶּ֖ם אַחֲרָֽיו ׃
καὶ ἐνετείλαντο τῷ λαῷ λέγοντες ὅταν ἴδητε τὴν κιβωτὸν τῆς διαθήκης κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ἡμῶν καὶ τοὺς ἱερεῖς ἡμῶν καὶ τοὺς Λευίτας αἴροντας αὐτήν ἀπαρεῖτε ἀπὸ τῶν τόπων ὑμῶν καὶ πορεύεσθε ὀπίσω αὐτῆς
et clamare coeperunt : Quando videritis arcam foederis Domini Dei vestri , et sacerdotes stirpis Leviticae portantes eam , vos quoque consurgite , et sequimini praecedentes :
ወአስተኃለፉ ፡ ለሕዝብ ፡ ወይቤሉ ፡ እምከመ ፡ ርኢክሙ ፡ ታቦተ ፡ ሕጉ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክነ ፡ ወካህናቲነ ፡ ወሌዋውያኒነ ፡ እንዘ ፡ ይጸውርዋ ፡ ገዐዙ ፡ አንትሙኒ ፡ እምነ ፡ መካናቲክሙ ፡ ወትልው ፡ ድኅሬሃ ።
and they commanded the people, saying, “When you see the ark of Yahweh your God’s covenant, and the Levitical priests bearing it, then leave your place and follow it.
3:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ אַ֣ךְ ׀ רָח֣וֹק יִֽהְיֶ֗ה בֵּֽינֵיכֶם֙ וּבֵנָ֔יו כְּאַלְפַּ֥יִם אַמָּ֖ה בַּמִּדָּ֑ה אַֽל ־תִּקְרְב֣וּ אֵלָ֗יו לְמַ֤עַן אֲשֶׁר ־תֵּֽדְעוּ֙ אֶת ־הַדֶּ֙רֶךְ֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר תֵּֽלְכוּ ־בָ֔הּ כִּ֣י לֹ֧א עֲבַרְתֶּ֛ם בַּדֶּ֖רֶךְ מִתְּמ֥וֹל שִׁלְשֽׁוֹם ׃ {פ}
ἀλλὰ μακρὰν ἔστω ἀνὰ μέσον ὑμῶν καὶ ἐκείνης ὅσον δισχιλίους πήχεις στήσεσθε μὴ προσεγγίσητε αὐτῇ ἵν’ ἐπίστησθε τὴν ὁδόν ἣν πορεύεσθε αὐτήν οὐ γὰρ πεπόρευσθε τὴν ὁδὸν ἀπ’ ἐχθὲς καὶ τρίτης ἡμέρας
sitque inter vos et arcam spatium cubitorum duum millium : ut procul videre possitis , et nosse per quam viam ingrediamini : quia prius non ambulastis per eam : et cavete ne appropinquetis ad arcam .
ወባሕቱ ፡ ርሑቀ ፡ [ይኩን ፡] ማእከሌክሙ ፡ ወማእከሌሃ ፡ መጠነ ፡ ዕሥራ ፡ ምእት ፡ በእመት ፡ ወበመስፈርቱ ፡ ቁሙ ፡ ወኢትቅረብዋ ፡ ከመ ፡ ታእምሩ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ፍኖት ፡ እንተ ፡ ተሐውሩ ፡ እስመ ፡ ኢሖርክምዋ ፡ ለይእቲ ፡ ፍኖት ፡ ትካት ።
Yet there shall be a space between you and it of about two thousand cubits by measure—don’t come closer to it—that you may know the way by which you must go; for you have not passed this way before.”
3:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּ֧אמֶר יְהוֹשֻׁ֛עַ אֶל ־הָעָ֖ם הִתְקַדָּ֑שׁוּ כִּ֣י מָחָ֗ר יַעֲשֶׂ֧ה יְהֹוָ֛ה בְּקִרְבְּכֶ֖ם נִפְלָאֽוֹת ׃
καὶ εἶπεν Ἰησοῦς τῷ λαῷ ἁγνίσασθε εἰς αὔριον ὅτι αὔριον ποιήσει ἐν ὑμῖν κύριος θαυμαστά
Dixitque Josue ad populum : Sanctificamini : cras enim faciet Dominus inter vos mirabilia .
ወይቤሎሙ ፡ ኢየሱስ ፡ ለሕዝብ ፡ አንጽሑ ፡ ርእሰክሙ ፡ ለጌሠም ፡ እስመ ፡ ጌሠመ ፡ ይገብር ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ መድምመ ፡ ለክሙ ።
Joshua said to the people, “Sanctify yourselves; for tomorrow Yahweh will do wonders among you.”
3:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהוֹשֻׁ֙עַ֙ אֶל ־הַכֹּהֲנִ֣ים לֵאמֹ֔ר שְׂאוּ֙ אֶת ־אֲר֣וֹן הַבְּרִ֔ית וְעִבְר֖וּ לִפְנֵ֣י הָעָ֑ם וַיִּשְׂאוּ֙ אֶת ־אֲר֣וֹן הַבְּרִ֔ית וַיֵּֽלְכ֖וּ לִפְנֵ֥י הָעָֽם ׃ {ס}
καὶ εἶπεν Ἰησοῦς τοῖς ἱερεῦσιν ἄρατε τὴν κιβωτὸν τῆς διαθήκης κυρίου καὶ προπορεύεσθε τοῦ λαοῦ καὶ ἦραν οἱ ἱερεῖς τὴν κιβωτὸν τῆς διαθήκης κυρίου καὶ ἐπορεύοντο ἔμπροσθεν τοῦ λαοῦ
Et ait ad sacerdotes : Tollite arcam foederis , et praecedite populum . Qui jussa complentes , tulerunt , et ambulaverunt ante eos .
ወይቤሎሙ ፡ ኢየሱስ ፡ ለካህናት ፡ እንዘ ፡ ይብል ፡ ንሥኡ ፡ ታቦተ ፡ ሕጉ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ወሑሩ ፡ ቅድመ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ወነሥኡ ፡ ካህናት ፡ ታቦተ ፡ ሕጉ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ወሖሩ ፡ ቅድመ ፡ ሕዝብ ።
Joshua spoke to the priests, saying, “Take up the ark of the covenant, and cross over before the people.” They took up the ark of the covenant, and went before the people.
3:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהֹוָה֙ אֶל ־יְהוֹשֻׁ֔עַ הַיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֗ה אָחֵל֙ גַּדֶּלְךָ֔ בְּעֵינֵ֖י כׇּל ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל אֲשֶׁר֙ יֵֽדְע֔וּן כִּ֗י כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר הָיִ֛יתִי עִם ־מֹשֶׁ֖ה אֶהְיֶ֥ה עִמָּֽךְ ׃
καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρὸς Ἰησοῦν ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ταύτῃ ἄρχομαι ὑψῶσαί σε κατενώπιον πάντων υἱῶν Ισραηλ ἵνα γνῶσιν καθότι ἤμην μετὰ Μωυσῆ οὕτως ἔσομαι καὶ μετὰ σοῦ
Dixitque Dominus ad Josue : Hodie incipiam exaltare te coram omni Israël : ut sciant quod sicut cum Moyse fui , ita et tecum sim .
ወይቤሎ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ለኢየሱስ ፡ ናሁ ፡ በዛቲ ፡ ዕለት ፡ እእኅዝ ፡ ኣዕቢከ ፡ ቅድመ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ደቂቀ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ከመ ፡ ያእምሩ ፡ ከመ ፡ ሀለውኩ ፡ ምስሌከ ፡ በከመ ፡ ሀለውኩ ፡ ምስለ ፡ ሙሴ ።
Yahweh said to Joshua, “Today I will begin to magnify you in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that as I was with Moses, so I will be with you.
3:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְאַתָּ֗ה תְּצַוֶּה֙ אֶת ־הַכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים נֹֽשְׂאֵ֥י אֲרֽוֹן ־הַבְּרִ֖ית לֵאמֹ֑ר כְּבֹאֲכֶ֗ם עַד ־קְצֵה֙ מֵ֣י הַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן בַּיַּרְדֵּ֖ן תַּעֲמֹֽדוּ ׃ {פ}
καὶ νῦν ἔντειλαι τοῖς ἱερεῦσιν τοῖς αἴρουσιν τὴν κιβωτὸν τῆς διαθήκης λέγων ὡς ἂν εἰσέλθητε ἐπὶ μέρους τοῦ ὕδατος τοῦ Ιορδάνου καὶ ἐν τῷ Ιορδάνῃ στήσεσθε
Tu autem praecipe sacerdotibus , qui portant arcam foederis , et dic eis : Cum ingressi fueritis partem aquae Jordanis , state in ea .
ወይእዜኒ ፡ አዝዞሙ ፡ ለካህናት ፡ እለ ፡ ይጸውሩ ፡ ታቦተ ፡ ወበሎሙ ፡ እምከመ ፡ ቦእክሙ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ጽንፈ ፡ ማዩ ፡ ለዮርዳንስ ፡ ቁሙ ፡ ውስቴቱ ፡ ለዮርዳንስ ።
You shall command the priests who bear the ark of the covenant, saying, ‘When you come to the brink of the waters of the Jordan, you shall stand still in the Jordan.’”
3:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּ֥אמֶר יְהוֹשֻׁ֖עַ אֶל ־בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל גֹּ֣שׁוּ הֵ֔נָּה וְשִׁמְע֕וּ אֶת ־דִּבְרֵ֖י יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם ׃
καὶ εἶπεν Ἰησοῦς τοῖς υἱοῖς Ισραηλ προσαγάγετε ὧδε καὶ ἀκούσατε τὸ ῥῆμα κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ἡμῶν
Dixitque Josue ad filios Israël : Accedite huc , et audite verbum Domini Dei vestri .
ወይቤሎሙ ፡ ኢየሱስ ፡ ለደቂቀ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ቅረቡ ፡ ዝየ ፡ ወስምዑ ፡ ቃለ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክነ ።
Joshua said to the children of Israel, “Come here, and hear the words of Yahweh your God.”
3:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר יְהוֹשֻׁ֔עַ בְּזֹאת֙ תֵּֽדְע֔וּן כִּ֛י אֵ֥ל חַ֖י בְּקִרְבְּכֶ֑ם וְהוֹרֵ֣שׁ יוֹרִ֣ישׁ מִ֠פְּנֵיכֶ֠ם אֶת ־הַכְּנַעֲנִ֨י וְאֶת ־הַחִתִּ֜י וְאֶת ־הַחִוִּ֗י וְאֶת ־הַפְּרִזִּי֙ וְאֶת ־הַגִּרְגָּשִׁ֔י וְהָאֱמֹרִ֖י וְהַיְבוּסִֽי ׃
ἐν τούτῳ γνώσεσθε ὅτι θεὸς ζῶν ἐν ὑμῖν καὶ ὀλεθρεύων ὀλεθρεύσει ἀπὸ προσώπου ἡμῶν τὸν Χαναναῖον καὶ τὸν Χετταῖον καὶ τὸν Φερεζαῖον καὶ τὸν Ευαῖον καὶ τὸν Αμορραῖον καὶ τὸν Γεργεσαῖον καὶ τὸν Ιεβουσαῖον
Et rursum : In hoc , inquit , scietis quod Dominus Deus vivens in medio vestri est , et disperdet in conspectu vestro Chananaeum et Hethaeum , Hevaeum et Pherezaeum , Gergesaeum quoque et Jebusaeum , et Amorrhaeum .
ወይቤሎሙ ፡ ኢየሱስ ፡ በዝንቱ ፡ ተአምሩ ፡ ከመ ፡ ሕያው ፡ ውእቱ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ዘምስሌክሙ ፡ ወአጥፍኦ ፡ ያጠፍኦሙ ፡ እምቅድመ ፡ ገጽክሙ ፡ ለከናኔዎን ፡ [ወለኬጤዎን ፡] ወለፌሬዜዎን ፡ ወለኤዌዎን ፡ ወለአሞሬዎን ፡ ወለኢያቡሴዎን ፡ ወለጌርጌሴዎን ።
Joshua said, “By this you shall know that the living God is among you, and that he will without fail drive the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Hivite, the Perizzite, the Girgashite, the Amorite, and the Jebusite out from before you.
3:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ הִנֵּה֙ אֲר֣וֹן הַבְּרִ֔ית אֲד֖וֹן כׇּל ־הָאָ֑רֶץ עֹבֵ֥ר לִפְנֵיכֶ֖ם בַּיַּרְדֵּֽן ׃
ἰδοὺ ἡ κιβωτὸς διαθήκης κυρίου πάσης τῆς γῆς διαβαίνει τὸν Ιορδάνην
Ecce arca foederis Domini omnis terrae antecedet vos per Jordanem .
ወናሁ ፡ ታቦተ ፡ ሕጉ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ውስተ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ምድር ፡ [ተዐዱ ፡ ቅድሜክሙ ፡] ዮርዳንስ ።
Behold, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth passes over before you into the Jordan.
3:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְעַתָּ֗ה קְח֤וּ לָכֶם֙ שְׁנֵ֣י עָשָׂ֣ר אִ֔ישׁ מִשִּׁבְטֵ֖י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל אִישׁ ־אֶחָ֥ד אִישׁ ־אֶחָ֖ד לַשָּֽׁבֶט ׃
προχειρίσασθε ὑμῖν δώδεκα ἄνδρας ἀπὸ τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ ἕνα ἀφ’ ἑκάστης φυλῆς
Parate duodecim viros de tribubus Israël , singulos per singulas tribus .
ወኅረዩ ፡ ለክሙ ፡ ዐሠርተ ፡ ወክልኤተ ፡ ዕደወ ፡ እምነ ፡ ደቂቀ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ አሐደ ፡ አሐደ ፡ ብእሴ ፡ እምነ ፡ አሐዱ ፡ አሐዱ ፡ ነገድ ።
Now therefore take twelve men out of the tribes of Israel, for every tribe a man.
3:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ וְהָיָ֡ה כְּנ֣וֹחַ כַּפּ֣וֹת רַגְלֵ֣י הַכֹּהֲנִ֡ים נֹשְׂאֵי֩ אֲר֨וֹן יְהֹוָ֜ה אֲד֤וֹן כׇּל ־הָאָ֙רֶץ֙ בְּמֵ֣י הַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן מֵ֤י הַיַּרְדֵּן֙ יִכָּ֣רֵת֔וּן הַמַּ֥יִם הַיֹּרְדִ֖ים מִלְמָ֑עְלָה וְיַעַמְד֖וּ נֵ֥ד אֶחָֽד ׃
καὶ ἔσται ὡς ἂν καταπαύσωσιν οἱ πόδες τῶν ἱερέων τῶν αἰρόντων τὴν κιβωτὸν τῆς διαθήκης κυρίου πάσης τῆς γῆς ἐν τῷ ὕδατι τοῦ Ιορδάνου τὸ ὕδωρ τοῦ Ιορδάνου ἐκλείψει τὸ δὲ ὕδωρ τὸ καταβαῖνον στήσεται
Et cum posuerint vestigia pedum suorum sacerdotes qui portant arcam Domini Dei universae terrae in aquis Jordanis , aquae quae inferiores sunt , decurrent atque deficient : quae autem desuper veniunt , in una mole consistent .
ወሶበ ፡ አቀሙ ፡ እገሪሆሙ ፡ ካህናት ፡ እለ ፡ ይጸውሩ ፡ ታቦተ ፡ ሕጉ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ውስተ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ምድር ፡ በውስተ ፡ ማየ ፡ ዮርዳንስ ፡ ይነጽፍ ፡ ማየ ፡ ዮርዳንስ ፡ ወማይኒ ፡ ዘይወርድ ፡ እምነ ፡ ላዕሉ ፡ ይቀውም ።
It shall be that when the soles of the feet of the priests who bear the ark of Yahweh, the Lord of all the earth, rest in the waters of the Jordan, that the waters of the Jordan will be cut off. The waters that come down from above shall stand in one heap.”
3:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיְהִ֗י בִּנְסֹ֤עַ הָעָם֙ מֵאׇ֣הֳלֵיהֶ֔ם לַֽעֲבֹ֖ר אֶת ־הַיַּרְדֵּ֑ן וְהַכֹּהֲנִ֗ים נֹ֥שְׂאֵ֛י הָאָר֥וֹן הַבְּרִ֖ית לִפְנֵ֥י הָעָֽם ׃
καὶ ἀπῆρεν ὁ λαὸς ἐκ τῶν σκηνωμάτων αὐτῶν διαβῆναι τὸν Ιορδάνην οἱ δὲ ἱερεῖς ἤροσαν τὴν κιβωτὸν τῆς διαθήκης κυρίου πρότεροι τοῦ λαοῦ
Igitur egressus est populus de tabernaculis suis , ut transiret Jordanem : et sacerdotes , qui portabant arcam foederis , pergebant ante eum .
ወእምዝ ፡ ሶበ ፡ ግዕዘ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ እምነ ፡ መኃድሪሆሙ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይዕድውዎ ፡ ለዮርዳንስ ፡ ወካህናትሰ ፡ ጾሩ ፡ ታቦተ ፡ ሕግ ፡ ወሖሩ ፡ ቅድመ ፡ ሕዝብ ።
When the people moved from their tents to pass over the Jordan, the priests who bore the ark of the covenant being before the people,
3:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ וּכְב֞וֹא נֹשְׂאֵ֤י הָֽאָרוֹן֙ עַד ־הַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן וְרַגְלֵ֤י הַכֹּֽהֲנִים֙ נֹשְׂאֵ֣י הָאָר֔וֹן נִטְבְּל֖וּ בִּקְצֵ֣ה הַמָּ֑יִם וְהַיַּרְדֵּ֗ן מָלֵא֙ עַל ־כׇּל ־גְּדוֹתָ֔יו כֹּ֖ל יְמֵ֥י קָצִֽיר ׃
ὡς δὲ εἰσεπορεύοντο οἱ ἱερεῖς οἱ αἴροντες τὴν κιβωτὸν τῆς διαθήκης ἐπὶ τὸν Ιορδάνην καὶ οἱ πόδες τῶν ἱερέων τῶν αἰρόντων τὴν κιβωτὸν τῆς διαθήκης κυρίου ἐβάφησαν εἰς μέρος τοῦ ὕδατος τοῦ Ιορδάνου ὁ δὲ Ιορδάνης ἐπλήρου καθ’ ὅλην τὴν κρηπῖδα αὐτοῦ ὡσεὶ ἡμέραι θερισμοῦ πυρῶν
Ingressisque eis Jordanem , et pedibus eorum in parte aquae tinctis (Jordanis autem ripas alvei sui tempore messis impleverat ),
ወሶበ ፡ ቦኡ ፡ ካህናት ፡ እለ ፡ ይጸውሩ ፡ ታቦተ ፡ ሕግ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ዮርዳንስ ፡ ወተጠምቃ ፡ እገሪሆሙ ፡ ለካህናት ፡ እለ ፡ ይጸውሩ ፡ ታቦተ ፡ ሕግ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ጽንፉ ፡ ለማየ ፡ ዮርዳንስ ፡ ወምሉእ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ዮርዳንስ ፡ እስከ ፡ ድንጋጊሁ ፡ ከመ ፡ አመ ፡ መዋዕለ ፡ ክረምት ፡ ወከመ ፡ አመ ፡ ይሠዊ ፡ ስርናይ ፤
and when those who bore the ark had come to the Jordan, and the feet of the priests who bore the ark had dipped in the edge of the water (for the Jordan overflows all its banks all the time of harvest),
3:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּֽעַמְד֡וּ הַמַּ֩יִם֩ הַיֹּרְדִ֨ים מִלְמַ֜עְלָה קָ֣מוּ נֵד ־אֶחָ֗ד הַרְחֵ֨ק מְאֹ֜ד (באדם ) [מֵֽאָדָ֤ם ] הָעִיר֙ אֲשֶׁר֙ מִצַּ֣ד צָֽרְתָ֔ן וְהַיֹּרְדִ֗ים עַ֣ל יָ֧ם הָעֲרָבָ֛ה יָם ־הַמֶּ֖לַח תַּ֣מּוּ נִכְרָ֑תוּ וְהָעָ֥ם עָבְר֖וּ נֶ֥גֶד יְרִיחֽוֹ ׃
καὶ ἔστη τὰ ὕδατα τὰ καταβαίνοντα ἄνωθεν ἔστη πῆγμα ἓν ἀφεστηκὸς μακρὰν σφόδρα σφοδρῶς ἕως μέρους Καριαθιαριμ τὸ δὲ καταβαῖνον κατέβη εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν Αραβα θάλασσαν ἁλός ἕως εἰς τὸ τέλος ἐξέλιπεν καὶ ὁ λαὸς εἱστήκει ἀπέναντι Ιεριχω
steterunt aquae descendentes in loco uno , et ad instar montis intumescentes apparebant procul , ab urbe quae vocatur Adom usque ad locum Sarthan : quae autem inferiores erant , in mare Solitudinis (quod nunc vocatur Mortuum ) descenderunt , usquequo omnino deficerent .
ወቆመ ፡ ማይ ፡ ዘይወርድ ፡ እምነ ፡ ላዕሉ ፡ ወቆመ ፡ ከመ ፡ አረፍት ፡ እንዘ ፡ ያርሕቅ ፡ ቀዊመ ፡ ጥቀ ፡ ወጥቀ ፡ እስከ ፡ ደወለ ፡ ቀርያታያርም ፡ ወዝክቱሰ ፡ ዘይወርድ ፡ ወረደ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ባሕር ፡ ዘአራባ ፡ ወባሕረ ፡ አሎን ፡ ወነጽፈ ፡ ወየብሰ ፡ ወቆመ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ አንጻረ ፡ ኢያሪከ ።
the waters which came down from above stood, and rose up in one heap a great way off, at Adam, the city that is beside Zarethan; and those that went down toward the sea of the Arabah, even the Salt Sea, were wholly cut off. Then the people passed over near Jericho.
3:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ וַיַּעַמְד֣וּ הַכֹּהֲנִ֡ים נֹ֠שְׂאֵ֠י הָאָר֨וֹן בְּרִית ־יְהֹוָ֜ה בֶּחָרָבָ֛ה בְּת֥וֹךְ הַיַּרְדֵּ֖ן הָכֵ֑ן וְכׇל ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל עֹֽבְרִים֙ בֶּחָ֣רָבָ֔ה עַ֤ד אֲשֶׁר ־תַּ֙מּוּ֙ כׇּל ־הַגּ֔וֹי לַעֲבֹ֖ר אֶת ־הַיַּרְדֵּֽן ׃
καὶ ἔστησαν οἱ ἱερεῖς οἱ αἴροντες τὴν κιβωτὸν τῆς διαθήκης κυρίου ἐπὶ ξηρᾶς ἐν μέσῳ τοῦ Ιορδάνου καὶ πάντες οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ διέβαινον διὰ ξηρᾶς ἕως συνετέλεσεν πᾶς ὁ λαὸς διαβαίνων τὸν Ιορδάνην
Populus autem incedebat contra Jericho : et sacerdotes qui portabant arcam foederis Domini , stabant super siccam humum in medio Jordanis accincti , omnisque populus per arentem alveum transibat .
ወቆሙ ፡ ካህናት ፡ እለ ፡ ይጸውሩ ፡ ታቦተ ፡ ሕጉ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ውስተ ፡ ይቡስ ፡ በማእከለ ፡ ዮርዳንስ ፡ ርሱያኒሆሙ ፡ ወኵሉ ፡ ደቂቀ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ዐደው ፡ እንተ ፡ ማእከለ ፡ ይቡስ ፡ እስከ ፡ ተገምረ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ወዐደው ፡ ዮርዳንስ ።
The priests who bore the ark of Yahweh’s covenant stood firm on dry ground in the middle of the Jordan; and all Israel crossed over on dry ground, until all the nation had passed completely over the Jordan.
