13:1 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ ἐξελθὼν ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἐκ τῆς οἰκίας ἐκάθητο παρὰ τὴν θάλασσαν ·
In illo die exiens Jesus de domo , sedebat secus mare .
ወበይእቲ ዕለት ወፂኦ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ እምቤት ነበረ መንገለ ሐይቀ ባሕር ።
On that day Jesus went out of the house and sat by the seaside.
13:2 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ συνήχθησαν πρὸς αὐτὸν ὄχλοι πολλοί , ὥστε αὐτὸν εἰς πλοῖον ἐμβάντα καθῆσθαι , καὶ πᾶς ὁ ὄχλος ἐπὶ τὸν αἰγιαλὸν εἱστήκει .
Et congregatae sunt ad eum turbae multae , ita ut naviculam ascendens sederet : et omnis turba stabat in littore ,
ወተጋብኡ ኀቤሁ ሰብእ ብዙኃን እስከ ሶበ የዐርግ ውስተ ሐመር ወይነብር ወኵሉ ሰብእ ውስተ ሐይቅ ይቀውሙ ።
Great multitudes gathered to him, so that he entered into a boat and sat; and all the multitude stood on the beach.
13:3 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐλάλησεν αὐτοῖς πολλὰ ἐν παραβολαῖς λέγων · ἰδοὺ ἐξῆλθεν ὁ σπείρων τοῦ σπείρειν .
et locutus est eis multa in parabolis , dicens : Ecce exiit qui seminat , seminare .
ወነገሮሙ ብዙኀ በምሳሌ እንዘ ይብል ናሁ ወፅአ ዘራዒ ከመ ይዝራዕ ።
He spoke to them many things in parables, saying, “Behold, a farmer went out to sow.
13:4 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐν τῷ σπείρειν αὐτὸν ἃ μὲν ἔπεσεν παρὰ τὴν ὁδόν , καὶ ἦλθεν τὰ πετεινὰ καὶ κατέφαγεν αὐτά .
Et dum seminat , quaedam ceciderunt secus viam , et venerunt volucres caeli , et comederunt ea .
ወእንዘ ይዘርዕ ቦ ዘወድቀ ውስተ ፍኖት ወመጽኡ አዕዋፈ ሰማይ ወበልዕዎ ።
As he sowed, some seeds fell by the roadside, and the birds came and devoured them.
13:5 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἄλλα δὲ ἔπεσεν ἐπὶ τὰ πετρώδη ὅπου οὐκ εἶχεν γῆν πολλήν , καὶ εὐθέως ἐξανέτειλεν διὰ τὸ μὴ ἔχειν βάθος γῆς ·
Alia autem ceciderunt in petrosa , ubi non habebant terram multam : et continuo exorta sunt , quia non habebant altitudinem terrae :
ወቦ ዘወድቀ ዲበ ኰኵሕ ኀበ አልቦ መሬት ብዙኅ ወውእተ ጊዜ ሠረጸ እስመ አልቦ ዕመቅ ለመሬቱ ።
Others fell on rocky ground, where they didn’t have much soil, and immediately they sprang up, because they had no depth of earth.
13:6 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἡλίου δὲ ἀνατείλαντος ἐκαυματίσθη καὶ διὰ τὸ μὴ ἔχειν ῥίζαν ἐξηράνθη .
sole autem orto aestuaverunt ; et quia non habebant radicem , aruerunt .
ወሶበ ሠረቀ ፀሐይ መጽለወ ወየብሰ እስመ አልቦ ሥርው ።
When the sun had risen, they were scorched. Because they had no root, they withered away.
13:7 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἄλλα δὲ ἔπεσεν ἐπὶ τὰς ἀκάνθας , καὶ ἀνέβησαν αἱ ἄκανθαι καὶ ἔπνιξαν αὐτά .
Alia autem ceciderunt in spinas : et creverunt spinae , et suffocaverunt ea .
ወቦ ዘወድቀ ውስተ ሦክ ወበቍሎ ጠበቆ ሦክ ወኀነቆ ።
Others fell among thorns. The thorns grew up and choked them.
13:8 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἄλλα δὲ ἔπεσεν ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν τὴν καλὴν καὶ ἐδίδου καρπόν , ὃ μὲν ἑκατόν , ὃ δὲ ἑξήκοντα , ὃ δὲ τριάκοντα .
Alia autem ceciderunt in terram bonam : et dabant fructum , aliud centesimum , aliud sexagesimum , aliud trigesimum .
ወቦ ዘወድቀ ውስተ ምድር ሠናይት ወወሀበ ፍሬ ቦ ዘምእት ወቦ ዘስሳ ወቦ ዘሠላሳ ።
Others fell on good soil and yielded fruit: some one hundred times as much, some sixty, and some thirty.
13:9 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ ἔχων ὦτα ἀκουέτω .
Qui habet aures audiendi , audiat .
ዘቦ እዝን ሰሚዐ ለይስማዕ ።
He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”
13:10 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ προσελθόντες οἱ μαθηταὶ εἶπαν αὐτῷ · διατί ἐν παραβολαῖς λαλεῖς αὐτοῖς ;
Et accedentes discipuli dixerunt ei : Quare in parabolis loqueris eis ?
ወቀሪቦሙ አርዳኢሁ ይቤልዎ በእንተ ምንት በአምሳል ትትናገሮሙ ።
The disciples came, and said to him, “Why do you speak to them in parables?”
13:11 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν · ὅτι ὑμῖν δέδοται γνῶναι τὰ μυστήρια τῆς βασιλείας τῶν οὐρανῶν , ἐκείνοις δὲ οὐ δέδοται .
Qui respondens , ait illis : Quia vobis datum est nosse mysteria regni caelorum : illis autem non est datum .
ወአውሥአ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወይቤሎሙ እስመ ለክሙ ተውህበ አእምሮ ምሥጢራቲሃ ለመንግሥተ ሰማያት ወሎሙሰ ኢተውህቦሙ ።
He answered them, “To you it is given to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven, but it is not given to them.
13:12 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὅστις γὰρ ἔχει , δοθήσεται αὐτῷ καὶ περισσευθήσεται · ὅστις δὲ οὐκ ἔχει , καὶ ὃ ἔχει ἀρθήσεται ἀπ’ αὐτοῦ .
Qui enim habet , dabitur ei , et abundabit : qui autem non habet , et quod habet auferetur ab eo .
እስመ ለዘቦ ይሁብዎ ወይዌስክዎ ወለዘሰ አልቦ እለሂ ቦ የሀይድዎ ።
For whoever has, to him will be given, and he will have abundance; but whoever doesn’t have, from him will be taken away even that which he has.
13:13 ⧉ ⤴︎ διὰ τοῦτο ἐν παραβολαῖς αὐτοῖς λαλῶ , ὅτι βλέποντες οὐ βλέπουσιν καὶ ἀκούοντες οὐκ ἀκούουσιν οὐδὲ συνίουσιν .
Ideo in parabolis loquor eis : quia videntes non vident , et audientes non audiunt , neque intelligunt .
ወበእንተ ዝንቱ በአምሳል እትናገሮሙ እስመ እንዘ ይሬእዩ ኢይሬእዩ ወእንዘ ይሰምዑ ኢይሰምዑ ወኢይሌብዉ ።
Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they don’t see, and hearing, they don’t hear, neither do they understand.
13:14 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἀναπληροῦται αὐτοῖς ἡ προφητεία Ἡσαΐου ἡ λέγουσα · ἀκοῇ ἀκούσετε καὶ οὐ μὴ συνῆτε , καὶ βλέποντες βλέψετε καὶ οὐ μὴ ἴδητε .
Et adimpletur in eis prophetia Isaiae , dicentis : Auditu audietis , et non intelligetis : et videntes videbitis , et non videbitis .
ከመ ይትፈጸም ላዕሌሆሙ ትንቢተ ኢሳይያስ ዘይቤ «ሰሚዐ ትሰምዑ ወኢትሌብዉ ወነጽሮ ትኔጽሩ ወኢትሬእዩ ።
In them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says, ‘By hearing you will hear, and will in no way understand; Seeing you will see, and will in no way perceive;
13:15 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐπαχύνθη γὰρ ἡ καρδία τοῦ λαοῦ τούτου , καὶ τοῖς ὠσὶν βαρέως ἤκουσαν , καὶ τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτῶν ἐκάμμυσαν , μήποτε ἴδωσιν τοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς καὶ τοῖς ὠσὶν ἀκούσωσιν καὶ τῇ καρδίᾳ συνῶσιν καὶ ἐπιστρέψωσιν , καὶ ἰάσομαι αὐτούς .
Incrassatum est enim cor populi hujus , et auribus graviter audierunt , et oculos suos clauserunt : nequando videant oculis , et auribus audiant , et corde intelligant , et convertantur , et sanem eos .
እስመ ገዝፈ ልቡ ለዝ ሕዝብ ወእዘኒሆሙ ደንቀወ እምሰሚዕ ወከደኑ አዕይንቲሆሙ ከመ ኢይርአዩ በአዕይንቲሆሙ ወበእዘኒሆሙ ኢይስምዑ ወበልቦሙ ኢይለብዉ ወኢይትመየጡ ኀቤየ ወኢይሣሀሎሙ ።»
for this people’s heart has grown callous, their ears are dull of hearing, and they have closed their eyes; or else perhaps they might perceive with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their heart, and would turn again, and I would heal them.’
13:16 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὑμῶν δὲ μακάριοι οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ ὅτι βλέπουσιν , καὶ τὰ ὦτα ὑμῶν ὅτι ἀκούουσιν .
Vestri autem beati oculi quia vident , et aures vestrae quia audiunt .
ወለክሙሰ ብፁዓት አዕይንቲክሙ እስመ ይሬእያ ወእዘኒክሙ እስመ ይሰምዓ ።
“But blessed are your eyes, for they see; and your ears, for they hear.
13:17 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι πολλοὶ προφῆται καὶ δίκαιοι ἐπεθύμησαν ἰδεῖν ἃ βλέπετε καὶ οὐκ ἴδαν , καὶ ἀκοῦσαι ἃ ἀκούετε καὶ οὐκ ἤκουσαν .
Amen quippe dico vobis , quia multi prophetae et justi cupierunt videre quae videtis , et non viderunt : et audire quae auditis , et non audierunt .
አማን እብለክሙ ከመ ብዙኃን ነቢያት ወጻድቃን ፈተዉ ይርአዩ አንትሙ ዘትሬእዩ ወኢርእዩ ወፈተዉ ይስምዑ አንትሙ ዘትሰምዑ ወኢሰምዑ ።
For most certainly I tell you that many prophets and righteous men desired to see the things which you see, and didn’t see them; and to hear the things which you hear, and didn’t hear them.
13:18 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὑμεῖς οὖν ἀκούσατε τὴν παραβολὴν τοῦ σπείραντος .
Vos ergo audite parabolam seminantis .
አንትሙኬ ስምዑ ምሳሌሁ ለዘይዘርዕ ።
“Hear, then, the parable of the farmer.
13:19 ⧉ ⤴︎ παντὸς ἀκούοντος τὸν λόγον τῆς βασιλείας καὶ μὴ συνιέντος , ἔρχεται ὁ πονηρὸς καὶ ἁρπάζει τὸ ἐσπαρμένον ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ αὐτοῦ · οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ παρὰ τὴν ὁδὸν σπαρείς .
Omnis qui audit verbum regni , et non intelligit , venit malus , et rapit quod seminatum est in corde ejus : hic est qui secus viam seminatus est .
ኵሉ ዘይሰምዕ ነገረ መንግሥተ ሰማያት ወኢይሌቡ ይመጽእ እኩይ ወይመሥጥ ቃለ ዘተዘርዐ ውስተ ልቡ ውእቱኬ ዘተዘርዐ ውስተ ፍኖት ።
When anyone hears the word of the Kingdom and doesn’t understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away that which has been sown in his heart. This is what was sown by the roadside.
13:20 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ ἐπὶ τὰ πετρώδη σπαρείς , οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ τὸν λόγον ἀκούων καὶ εὐθὺς μετὰ χαρᾶς λαμβάνων αὐτόν ·
Qui autem super petrosa seminatus est , hic est qui verbum audit , et continuo cum gaudio accipit illud :
ወዘሰ ውስተ ኰኵሕ ተዘርዐ ውእቱ ዝ ዘነገረ ይሰምዕ ወሶቤሃ በፍሥሓ ይትዌከፎ ።
What was sown on the rocky places, this is he who hears the word and immediately with joy receives it;
13:21 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὐκ ἔχει δὲ ῥίζαν ἐν ἑαυτῷ ἀλλὰ πρόσκαιρός ἐστιν , γενομένης δὲ θλίψεως ἢ διωγμοῦ διὰ τὸν λόγον εὐθὺς σκανδαλίζεται .
non habet autem in se radicem , sed est temporalis : facta autem tribulatione et persecutione propter verbum , continuo scandalizatur .
ወባሕቱ አልቦ ሥርው ላዕሌሁ ለጊዜሃ ዳእሙ ውእቱ ወከዊኖሰ ምንዳቤ ወስደት በእንተዝ ነገር በጊዜሃ የዐሉ ።
yet he has no root in himself, but endures for a while. When oppression or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles.
13:22 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ εἰς τὰς ἀκάνθας σπαρείς , οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ τὸν λόγον ἀκούων καὶ ἡ μέριμνα τοῦ αἰῶνος καὶ ἡ ἀπάτη τοῦ πλούτου συμπνίγει τὸν λόγον , καὶ ἄκαρπος γίνεται .
Qui autem seminatus est in spinis , hic est qui verbum audit , et sollicitudo saeculi istius , et fallacia divitiarum suffocat verbum , et sine fructu efficitur .
ወዘሰ ውስተ ሦክ ተዘርዐ ዝ ውእቱ ዘነገረ ይሰምዕ ወትካዘ ዝ ዓለም ወስፍጠተ ብዕል ተኀንቆ ለነገር ወዘእንበለ ፍሬ ይከውን ።
What was sown among the thorns, this is he who hears the word, but the cares of this age and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.
13:23 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ ἐπὶ τὴν καλὴν γῆν σπαρείς , οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ τὸν λόγον ἀκούων καὶ συνιείς , ὃς δὴ καρποφορεῖ καὶ ποιεῖ ὃ μὲν ἑκατόν , ὃ δὲ ἑξήκοντα , ὃ δὲ τριάκοντα .
Qui vero in terram bonam seminatus est , hic est qui audit verbum , et intelligit , et fructum affert , et facit aliud quidem centesimum , aliud autem sexagesimum , aliud vero trigesimum .
ወዘሰ ተዘርዐ ውስተ ምድር ሠናይት ዝ ውእቱ ዘነገረ ይሰምዕ ወይሌቡ ወይፈሪ ወይገብር ቦ ዘምእት ወቦ ዘስሳ ወቦ ዘሠላሳ ።
What was sown on the good ground, this is he who hears the word and understands it, who most certainly bears fruit and produces, some one hundred times as much, some sixty, and some thirty.”
13:24 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἄλλην παραβολὴν παρέθηκεν αὐτοῖς λέγων · ὡμοιώθη ἡ βασιλεία τῶν οὐρανῶν ἀνθρώπῳ σπείραντι καλὸν σπέρμα ἐν τῷ ἀγρῷ αὐτοῦ .
Aliam parabolam proposuit illis , dicens : Simile factum est regnum caelorum homini , qui seminavit bonum semen in agro suo :
ካልእተ ምሳሌ አምጽአ ሎሙ እንዘ ይብል ትመስል መንግሥተ ሰማያት ብእሴ ዘዘርዐ ሠናየ ዘርዐ ውስተ ገራህቱ ።
He set another parable before them, saying, “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field,
13:25 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἐν δὲ τῷ καθεύδειν τοὺς ἀνθρώπους ἦλθεν αὐτοῦ ὁ ἐχθρὸς καὶ ἐπέσπειρεν ζιζάνια ἀνὰ μέσον τοῦ σίτου καὶ ἀπῆλθεν .
cum autem dormirent homines , venit inimicus ejus , et superseminavit zizania in medio tritici , et abiit .
ወእንዘ ይነውሙ ሰብኡ መጽአ ጸላኢሁ ወዘርዐ ክርዳደ ማእከለ ሥርናይ ወኀለፈ ።
but while people slept, his enemy came and sowed darnel weeds also among the wheat, and went away.
13:26 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὅτε δὲ ἐβλάστησεν ὁ χόρτος καὶ καρπὸν ἐποίησεν , τότε ἐφάνη καὶ τὰ ζιζάνια .
Cum autem crevisset herba , et fructum fecisset , tunc apparuerunt et zizania .
ወሶበ በቈለ ሥርናይ ወፈረየ ፍሬ አሜሃ አስተርአየ ክርዳድኒ ።
But when the blade sprang up and produced grain, then the darnel weeds appeared also.
13:27 ⧉ ⤴︎ προσελθόντες δὲ οἱ δοῦλοι τοῦ οἰκοδεσπότου εἶπον αὐτῷ · κύριε , οὐχὶ καλὸν σπέρμα ἔσπειρας ἐν τῷ σῷ ἀγρῷ ; πόθεν οὖν ἔχει ζιζάνια ;
Accedentes autem servi patrisfamilias , dixerunt ei : Domine , nonne bonum semen seminasti in agro tuo ? unde ergo habet zizania ?
ወመጺኦሙ አግብርቲሁ ለበዐለ ገራህት ይቤልዎ እግዚኦ አኮሁ ሠናየ ዘርዐ ዘራዕከ ውስተ ገራህትከ እምአይቴ እንከ ሎቱ ክርዳድ ።
The servants of the householder came and said to him, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where did these darnel weeds come from?’
13:28 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ ἔφη αὐτοῖς · ἐχθρὸς ἄνθρωπος τοῦτο ἐποίησεν . οἱ δὲ δοῦλοι λέγουσιν αὐτῷ · θέλεις οὖν ἀπελθόντες συλλέξωμεν αὐτά ;
Et ait illis : Inimicus homo hoc fecit . Servi autem dixerunt ei : Vis , imus , et colligimus ea ?
ወይቤሎሙ ብእሲ ፀራዊ ገብረ ዘንተ ወአግብርቲሁሰ ይቤልዎ ትፈቅድኑ እንከ ንሑር ወንጻሕይዮ ።
“He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ “The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and gather them up?’
13:29 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δέ φησίν · οὔ , μήποτε συλλέγοντες τὰ ζιζάνια ἐκριζώσητε ἅμα αὐτοῖς τὸν σῖτον .
Et ait : Non : ne forte colligentes zizania , eradicetis simul cum eis et triticum .
ወይቤሎሙ አልቦ ከመ እንዘ ትጸሐይዩ ክርዳደ ኢትምሐዉ ምስሌሁ ሥርናየኒ ።
“But he said, ‘No, lest perhaps while you gather up the darnel weeds, you root up the wheat with them.
13:30 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἄφετε συναυξάνεσθαι ἀμφότερα μέχρι τοῦ θερισμοῦ , καὶ ἐν καιρῷ τοῦ θερισμοῦ ἐρῶ τοῖς θερισταῖς · συλλέξατε πρῶτον τὰ ζιζάνια καὶ δήσατε αὐτὰ εἰς δέσμας πρὸς τὸ κατακαῦσαι αὐτά , τὸν δὲ σῖτον συναγάγετε εἰς τὴν ἀποθήκην μου .
Sinite utraque crescere usque ad messem , et in tempore messis dicam messoribus : Colligite primum zizania , et alligate ea in fasciculos ad comburendum : triticum autem congregate in horreum meum .
ኅድግዎሙ ይልሀቁ ኅቡረ እስከ ጊዜ ማእረር ወበጊዜ ማእረር እብሎሙ ለእለ የዐጽዱ እርዩ ቅድመ ክርዳደ ወእስርዎ በበከላስስቲሁ ወአውዕይዎ በእሳት ወሥርናዮሰ አስተጋብኡ ውስተ መዛግብትየ ።
Let both grow together until the harvest, and in the harvest time I will tell the reapers, “First, gather up the darnel weeds, and bind them in bundles to burn them; but gather the wheat into my barn.”’”
13:31 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἄλλην παραβολὴν παρέθηκεν αὐτοῖς λέγων · ὁμοία ἐστὶν ἡ βασιλεία τῶν οὐρανῶν κόκκῳ σινάπεως , ὃν λαβὼν ἄνθρωπος ἔσπειρεν ἐν τῷ ἀγρῷ αὐτοῦ ·
Aliam parabolam proposuit eis dicens : Simile est regnum caelorum grano sinapis , quod accipiens homo seminavit in agro suo :
ካልእተ ምሳሌ አምጽአ ሎሙ እንዘ ይብል ትመስል መንግሥተ ሰማያት ኅጠተ ሰናፔ እንተ ነሥኣ ብእሲ ወዘርዓ ውስተ ገራህቱ ።
He set another parable before them, saying, “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a grain of mustard seed which a man took, and sowed in his field,
13:32 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὃ μικρότερον μέν ἐστιν πάντων τῶν σπερμάτων , ὅταν δὲ αὐξηθῇ μεῖζον τῶν λαχάνων ἐστὶν καὶ γίνεται δένδρον , ὥστε ἐλθεῖν τὰ πετεινὰ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ κατασκηνοῦν ἐν τοῖς κλάδοις αὐτοῦ .
quod minimum quidem est omnibus seminibus : cum autem creverit , majus est omnibus oleribus , et fit arbor , ita ut volucres caeli veniant , et habitent in ramis ejus .
ወይእቲ ትንእስ እምኵሉ አዝርዕት ወሶበ ልህቀት ተዐቢ እምኵሎን አሕማላት ወትከውን ዕፀ ዐባየ እስከ ይመጽኡ አዕዋፈ ሰማይ ወያጸልሉ ታሕተ አዕፁቂሃ ።
which indeed is smaller than all seeds. But when it is grown, it is greater than the herbs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and lodge in its branches.”
13:33 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ἄλλην παραβολὴν ἐλάλησεν αὐτοῖς · ὁμοία ἐστὶν ἡ βασιλεία τῶν οὐρανῶν ζύμῃ , ἣν λαβοῦσα γυνὴ ἐνέκρυψεν εἰς ἀλεύρου σάτα τρία ἕως οὗ ἐζυμώθη ὅλον .
Aliam parabolam locutus est eis : Simile est regnum caelorum fermento , quod acceptum mulier abscondit in farinae satis tribus , donec fermentatum est totum .
ካልእተ ምሳሌ አምጽአ ሎሙ ወይቤሎሙ ትመስል መንግሥተ ሰማያት ብኁአ ዘነሥአት ብእሲት ወአብኅአቶ ውስተ ሠለስቱ መስፈርተ ሐሪጽ ወአብኅአ ኵሎ ።
He spoke another parable to them. “The Kingdom of Heaven is like yeast which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, until it was all leavened.”
13:34 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ταῦτα πάντα ἐλάλησεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἐν παραβολαῖς τοῖς ὄχλοις , καὶ χωρὶς παραβολῆς οὐδὲν ἐλάλει αὐτοῖς ·
Haec omnia locutus est Jesus in parabolis ad turbas : et sine parabolis non loquebatur eis :
ዘንተ ኵሎ ተናገረ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ በምሳሌ ለአሕዛብ ወዘእንበለ ምሳሌሰ ኢተናገሮሙ ።
Jesus spoke all these things in parables to the multitudes; and without a parable, he didn’t speak to them,
13:35 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὅπως πληρωθῇ τὸ ῥηθὲν διὰ τοῦ προφήτου Ἡσαίου λέγοντος · ἀνοίξω ἐν παραβολαῖς τὸ στόμα μου , ἐρεύξομαι κεκρυμμένα ἀπὸ καταβολῆς .
ut impleretur quod dictum erat per prophetam dicentem : Aperiam in parabolis os meum ; eructabo abscondita a constitutione mundi .
ከመ ይትፈጸም ዘተብህለ በነቢይ እንዘ ይብል «እከሥት በምሳሌ አፉየ ወእነግር አምሳለ ዘእምትካት ።»
that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophet, saying, “I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things hidden from the foundation of the world.”
13:36 ⧉ ⤴︎ Τότε ἀφεὶς τοὺς ὄχλους ἦλθεν εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν . καὶ προσῆλθον αὐτῷ οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ λέγοντες · φράσον ἡμῖν τὴν παραβολὴν τῶν ζιζανίων τοῦ ἀγροῦ .
Tunc , dimissis turbis , venit in domum : et accesserunt ad eum discipuli ejus , dicentes : Edissere nobis parabolam zizaniorum agri .
ወእምዝ ኀደጎሙ ለአሕዛብ ወቦአ ውስተ ቤት ወቀርቡ ኀቤሁ አርዳኢሁ ወይቤልዎ ፈክር ለነ ምሳሌ ዘክርዳድ ወዘሥርናይ ወዘገራህት ።
Then Jesus sent the multitudes away, and went into the house. His disciples came to him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the darnel weeds of the field.”
13:37 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν · ὁ σπείρων τὸ καλὸν σπέρμα ἐστὶν ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ,
Qui respondens ait illis : Qui seminat bonum semen , est Filius hominis .
ወአውሥአ ወይቤሎሙ ዘይዘርዕሰ ሠናየ ዘርዐ ወልደ ዕጓለ እመሕያው ውእቱ ።
He answered them, “He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man,
13:38 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ ἀγρός ἐστιν ὁ κόσμος · τὸ δὲ καλὸν σπέρμα , οὗτοί εἰσιν οἱ υἱοὶ τῆς βασιλείας · τὰ δὲ ζιζάνιά εἰσιν οἱ υἱοὶ τοῦ πονηροῦ ,
Ager autem est mundus . Bonum vero semen , hi sunt filii regni . Zizania autem , filii sunt nequam .
ወገራህቱኒ ዓለም ውእቱ ወሠናይኒ ዘርዕ ውሉደ መንግሥት እሙንቱ ወክርዳድኒ ውሉዱ ለእኩይ ።
the field is the world, the good seeds are the children of the Kingdom, and the darnel weeds are the children of the evil one.
13:39 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ ἐχθρὸς ὁ σπείρας αὐτά ἐστιν ὁ διάβολος · ὁ δὲ θερισμὸς συντέλεια αἰῶνός ἐστιν , οἱ δὲ θερισταὶ ἄγγελοί εἰσιν .
Inimicus autem , qui seminavit ea , est diabolus . Messis vero , consummatio saeculi est . Messores autem , angeli sunt .
ወፀራዊኒ ዘዘርዖ ዲያብሎስ ውእቱ ወማእረሩኒ ኅልቀተ ዓለም ውእቱ ወዐጸዱኒ መላእክት እሙንቱ ።
The enemy who sowed them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are angels.
13:40 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὥσπερ οὖν συλλέγεται τὰ ζιζάνια καὶ πυρὶ κατακαίεται , οὕτως ἔσται ἐν τῇ συντελείᾳ τοῦ αἰῶνος ·
Sicut ergo colliguntur zizania , et igni comburuntur : sic erit in consummatione saeculi .
ከመኬ የአርይዎ ለክርዳድ ቅድመ ወበእሳት ያውዕይዎ ከማሁ ይከውን በኅልቀተ ዝንቱ ዓለም ።
As therefore the darnel weeds are gathered up and burned with fire; so will it be at the end of this age.
13:41 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἀποστελεῖ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου τοὺς ἀγγέλους αὐτοῦ , καὶ συλλέξουσιν ἐκ τῆς βασιλείας αὐτοῦ πάντα τὰ σκάνδαλα καὶ τοὺς ποιοῦντας τὴν ἀνομίαν ,
Mittet Filius hominis angelos suos , et colligent de regno ejus omnia scandala , et eos qui faciunt iniquitatem :
ወይፌንዎሙ ወልደ ዕጓለ እመሕያው ለመላእክቲሁ ወየአርዩ እመንግሥቱ ኵሎ ዐላውያነ ወእለ ይገብሩ አበሳ ።
The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will gather out of his Kingdom all things that cause stumbling and those who do iniquity,
13:42 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ βαλοῦσιν αὐτοὺς εἰς τὴν κάμινον τοῦ πυρός · ἐκεῖ ἔσται ὁ κλαυθμὸς καὶ ὁ βρυγμὸς τῶν ὀδόντων .
et mittent eos in caminum ignis . Ibi erit fletus et stridor dentium .
ወይወድይዎሙ ውስተ እቶነ እሳት ወበህየ ይከውን ብካይ ወሐቅየ ስነን ።
and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
13:43 ⧉ ⤴︎ τότε οἱ δίκαιοι ἐκλάμψουσιν ὡς ὁ ἥλιος ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτῶν . ὁ ἔχων ὦτα ἀκουέτω .
Tunc justi fulgebunt sicut sol in regno Patris eorum . Qui habet aures audiendi , audiat .
አሜሃ ይበርሁ ጻድቃን ምስብዒተ እደ እምብርሃነ ፀሐይ በመንግሥተ አቡሆሙ ዘበሰማያት ዘቦ እዝን ሰሚዐ ለይስማዕ ።
Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the Kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.
13:44 ⧉ ⤴︎ Ὁμοία ἐστὶν ἡ βασιλεία τῶν οὐρανῶν θησαυρῷ κεκρυμμένῳ ἐν τῷ ἀγρῷ , ὃν εὑρὼν ἄνθρωπος ἔκρυψεν , καὶ ἀπὸ τῆς χαρᾶς αὐτοῦ ὑπάγει καὶ πωλεῖ πάντα ὅσα ἔχει καὶ ἀγοράζει τὸν ἀγρὸν ἐκεῖνον .
Simile est regnum caelorum thesauro abscondito in agro : quem qui invenit homo , abscondit , et prae gaudio illius vadit , et vendit universa quae habet , et emit agrum illum .
ካዕበ ትመስል መንግሥተ ሰማያት መድፍነ ዘኅቡእ ውስተ ገራህት ወረኪቦ ብእሲ ኀብኣ ወእምፍሥሓሁ ሖረ ወሤጠ ኵሎ ዘቦ ወተሣየጣ ለይእቲ ገራህት ።
“Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid. In his joy, he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
13:45 ⧉ ⤴︎ Πάλιν ὁμοία ἐστὶν ἡ βασιλεία τῶν οὐρανῶν ἀνθρώπῳ ἐμπόρῳ ζητοῦντι καλοὺς μαργαρίτας ·
Iterum simile est regnum caelorum homini negotiatori , quaerenti bonas margaritas .
ካዕበ ትመስል መንግሥተ ሰማያት ብእሴ ሠያጤ ዘየኀሥሥ ባሕርየ ሠናየ ።
“Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a man who is a merchant seeking fine pearls,
13:46 ⧉ ⤴︎ εὑρὼν δὲ ἕνα πολύτιμον μαργαρίτην ἀπελθὼν πέπρακεν πάντα ὅσα εἶχεν καὶ ἠγόρασεν αὐτόν .
Inventa autem una pretiosa margarita , abiit , et vendidit omnia quae habuit , et emit eam .
ወረኪቦ አሐተ ባሕርየ እንተ ብዙኅ ሤጣ ሖረ ወሤጠ ኵሎ ዘቦ ወተሣየጣ ።
who having found one pearl of great price, he went and sold all that he had and bought it.
13:47 ⧉ ⤴︎ Πάλιν ὁμοία ἐστὶν ἡ βασιλεία τῶν οὐρανῶν σαγήνῃ βληθείσῃ εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν καὶ ἐκ παντὸς γένους συναγαγούσῃ ·
Iterum simile est regnum caelorum sagenae missae in mare , et ex omni genere piscium congreganti .
ካዕበ ትመስል መንግሥተ ሰማያት ገሪፈ እንተ ተወድየት ውስተ ባሕር ወአስተጋብአት ኵሎ ዘመደ ዓሣት ።
“Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a dragnet that was cast into the sea and gathered some fish of every kind,
13:48 ⧉ ⤴︎ ἣν ὅτε ἐπληρώθη ἀναβιβάσαντες ἐπὶ τὸν αἰγιαλὸν καὶ καθίσαντες συνέλεξαν τὰ καλὰ εἰς ἄγγη , τὰ δὲ σαπρὰ ἔξω ἔβαλον .
Quam , cum impleta esset , educentes , et secus littus sedentes , elegerunt bonos in vasa , malos autem foras miserunt .
ወሶበ መልአት አዕረግዋ ውስተ ሐይቅ ወነቢሮሙ አረዩ ሠናዮ ውስተ ሙዳዮሙ ወእኩዮሰ ገደፍዎ አፍኣ ።
which, when it was filled, fishermen drew up on the beach. They sat down and gathered the good into containers, but the bad they threw away.
13:49 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὕτως ἔσται ἐν τῇ συντελείᾳ τοῦ αἰῶνος · ἐξελεύσονται οἱ ἄγγελοι καὶ ἀφοριοῦσιν τοὺς πονηροὺς ἐκ μέσου τῶν δικαίων ,
Sic erit in consummatione saeculi : exibunt angeli , et separabunt malos de medio justorum ,
ከማሁ ይከውን በኅልቀተ ዓለም ይመጽኡ መላእክት ወይፈልጡ እኩያነ እማእከሎሙ ለጻድቃን ።
So it will be in the end of the world. The angels will come and separate the wicked from among the righteous,
13:50 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ βαλοῦσιν αὐτοὺς εἰς τὴν κάμινον τοῦ πυρός · ἐκεῖ ἔσται ὁ κλαυθμὸς καὶ ὁ βρυγμὸς τῶν ὀδόντων .
et mittent eos in caminum ignis : ibi erit fletus , et stridor dentium .
ወይወድይዎሙ ውስተ እቶነ እሳት ኀበ ሀሎ ብካይ ወሐቅየ ስነን ።
and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
13:51 ⧉ ⤴︎ συνήκατε ταῦτα πάντα ; λέγουσιν αὐτῷ , ναί .
Intellexistis haec omnia ? Dicunt ei : Etiam .
ወይቤሎሙ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ለበውክሙኑ እንከ ዘንተ ኵሎ ወይቤልዎ እወ እግዚኦ ።
Jesus said to them, “Have you understood all these things?” They answered him, “Yes, Lord.”
13:52 ⧉ ⤴︎ ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς · διὰ τοῦτο πᾶς γραμματεὺς μαθητευθεὶς τῇ βασιλείᾳ τῶν οὐρανῶν ὅμοιός ἐστιν ἀνθρώπῳ οἰκοδεσπότῃ , ὅστις ἐκβάλλει ἐκ τοῦ θησαυροῦ αὐτοῦ καινὰ καὶ παλαιά .
Ait illis : Ideo omnis scriba doctus in regno caelorum , similis est homini patrifamilias , qui profert de thesauro suo nova et vetera .
ወይቤሎሙ በእንተ ዝንቱ ኵሉ ጸሓፊ ዘይጸመድ ለመንግሥተ ሰማያት ይመስል ብእሴ በዓለ ቤት ዘያወፅእ እመዝገቡ ሐዲሰ ወብሉየ ።
He said to them, “Therefore every scribe who has been made a disciple in the Kingdom of Heaven is like a man who is a householder, who brings out of his treasure new and old things.”
13:53 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ ἐγένετο ὅτε ἐτέλεσεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς τὰς παραβολὰς ταύτας , μετῆρεν ἐκεῖθεν .
Et factum est , cum consummasset Jesus parabolas istas , transiit inde .
ወፈጺሞ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ እሎንተ ምሳሌያተ ተንሥአ እምህየ ።
When Jesus had finished these parables, he departed from there.
13:54 ⧉ ⤴︎ Καὶ ἐλθὼν εἰς τὴν πατρίδα αὐτοῦ ἐδίδασκεν αὐτοὺς ἐν τῇ συναγωγῇ αὐτῶν , ὥστε ἐκπλήσσεσθαι αὐτοὺς καὶ λέγειν · πόθεν τούτῳ ἡ σοφία αὕτη καὶ αἱ δυνάμεις ;
Et veniens in patriam suam , docebat eos in synagogis eorum , ita ut mirarentur , et dicerent : Unde huic sapientia haec , et virtutes ?
ወሖረ ሀገሮ ወመሀሮሙ በምኵራቦሙ እስከ ሶበ ይዴመሙ ወይብሉ እምአይቴ እንከ ሎቱ ዝንቱ ኵሉ ጥበብ ወኀይል ።
Coming into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished and said, “Where did this man get this wisdom and these mighty works?
13:55 ⧉ ⤴︎ οὐχ οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ τοῦ τέκτονος υἱός ; οὐχ ἡ μήτηρ αὐτοῦ λέγεται Μαριὰμ καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ Ἰάκωβος καὶ Ἰωσὴφ καὶ Σίμων καὶ Ἰούδας ;
Nonne hic est fabri filius ? nonne mater ejus dicitur Maria , et fratres ejus , Jacobus , et Joseph , et Simon , et Judas ?
አኮኑ ዝንቱ ውእቱ ወልዱ ለጸራቢ ወስማ ለእሙ ማርያም ወአኀዊሁ ያዕቆብ ወዮሳ ወስምዖን ወይሁዳ ።
Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother called Mary, and his brothers James, Joses, Simon, and Judas?
13:56 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ αἱ ἀδελφαὶ αὐτοῦ οὐχὶ πᾶσαι πρὸς ἡμᾶς εἰσιν ; πόθεν οὖν τούτῳ ταῦτα πάντα ;
et sorores ejus , nonne omnes apud nos sunt ? unde ergo huic omnia ista ?
ወአኃቲሁ ኵሎን ኀቤነ ሀለዋ እምአይቴ እንከ ሎቱ ዝንቱ ኵሉ ጥበብ ወኀይል ወአኀዙ ያንጐርጕሩ በእንቲኣሁ ።
Aren’t all of his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all of these things?”
13:57 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ ἐσκανδαλίζοντο ἐν αὐτῷ . ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς · οὐκ ἔστιν προφήτης ἄτιμος εἰ μὴ ἐν τῇ ἰδίᾳ πατρίδι καὶ ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ αὐτοῦ .
Et scandalizabantur in eo . Jesus autem dixit eis : Non est propheta sine honore , nisi in patria sua , et in domo sua .
ወይቤሎሙ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ አልቦ በኀበ ኢይከብር ነቢይ ዘእንበለ በሀገሩ ወበቤቱ ።
They were offended by him. But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor, except in his own country and in his own house.”
13:58 ⧉ ⤴︎ καὶ οὐκ ἐποίησεν ἐκεῖ δυνάμεις πολλὰς διὰ τὴν ἀπιστίαν αὐτῶν .
Et non fecit ibi virtutes multas propter incredulitatem illorum .
ወኢገብረ በህየ ኀይለ ብዙኀ በእንተ ኢአሚኖቶሙ ።
He didn’t do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
