11:1
מֹאזְנֵ֣י מִ֭רְמָה תּוֹעֲבַ֣ת יְהֹוָ֑ה וְאֶ֖בֶן שְׁלֵמָ֣ה רְצוֹנֽוֹ׃
ζυγοὶ δόλιοι βδέλυγμα ἐνώπιον κυρίου στάθμιον δὲ δίκαιον δεκτὸν αὐτῷ
Statera dolosa abominatio est apud Dominum, et pondus aequum voluntas ejus.
መዳልወ፡ ዓመፃ፡ ርኩስ፡ በኀበ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ መዳልወ፡ ጻድቅሰ፡ ኅሩይ፡ ውእቱ።
A false balance is an abomination to Yahweh, but accurate weights are his delight.
11:2
בָּֽא־זָ֭דוֹן וַיָּבֹ֣א קָל֑וֹן וְֽאֶת־צְנוּעִ֥ים חׇכְמָֽה׃
οὗ ἐὰν εἰσέλθῃ ὕβρις ἐκεῖ καὶ ἀτιμία στόμα δὲ ταπεινῶν μελετᾷ σοφίαν
Ubi fuerit superbia, ibi erit et contumelia ; ubi autem est humilitas, ibi et sapientia.
ኀበ፡ ሀሎ፡ ጽእለት፡ ህየ፡ ሀሎ፡ ኃሣር፡ አፈ፡ የዋሃንሰ፡ ይትሜሀር፡ ጥበበ።
When pride comes, then comes shame, but with humility comes wisdom.
11:3
תֻּמַּ֣ת יְשָׁרִ֣ים תַּנְחֵ֑ם וְסֶ֖לֶף בֹּגְדִ֣ים (ושדם) [יְשׇׁדֵּֽם]׃
ἀποθανὼν δίκαιος ἔλιπεν μετάμελον πρόχειρος δὲ γίνεται καὶ ἐπίχαρτος ἀσεβῶν ἀπώλεια
Simplicitas justorum diriget eos, et supplantatio perversorum vastabit illos.
ተፈጻሜቶሙ፡ ለጻድቃን፡ ትመርሖሙ፡ ወዕቅዐቶሙሰ፡ ለረሲዓን፡ ትፄውዎሙ።
The integrity of the upright shall guide them, but the perverseness of the treacherous shall destroy them.
11:4
לֹא־יוֹעִ֣יל ה֭וֹן בְּי֣וֹם עֶבְרָ֑ה וּ֝צְדָקָ֗ה תַּצִּ֥יל מִמָּֽוֶת׃
—
Non proderunt divitiae in die ultionis ; justitia autem liberabit a morte.
ኢይበቊዕ፡ ናዋይ፡ በዕለተ፡ መዓት፡ ወጽድቅሰ፡ ታድኅን፡ እሞት፡ መዊቶ፡ ጻድቅ፡ ኀደገ፡ ንስሐ፡ ጉቡአን፡ በእድ፡ ይከውን፡ ወሰሐቀ፡ ሞቱ፡ ለረሲዕ።
Riches don’t profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.
11:5
צִדְקַ֣ת תָּ֭מִים תְּיַשֵּׁ֣ר דַּרְכּ֑וֹ וּ֝בְרִשְׁעָת֗וֹ יִפֹּ֥ל רָשָֽׁע׃
δικαιοσύνη ἀμώμους ὀρθοτομεῖ ὁδούς ἀσέβεια δὲ περιπίπτει ἀδικίᾳ
Justitia simplicis diriget viam ejus, et in impietate sua corruet impius.
ወጽድቁ፡ ለንጹሕ፡ ያረትዕ፡ ፍኖቶ፡ ወኃጢአትሰ፡ ትወርድ፡ ዲበ፡ ረሲዓን።
The righteousness of the blameless will direct his way, but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.
11:6
צִדְקַ֣ת יְ֭שָׁרִים תַּצִּילֵ֑ם וּ֝בְהַוַּ֗ת בֹּגְדִ֥ים יִלָּכֵֽדוּ׃
δικαιοσύνη ἀνδρῶν ὀρθῶν ῥύεται αὐτούς τῇ δὲ ἀπωλείᾳ αὐτῶν ἁλίσκονται παράνομοι
Justitia rectorum liberabit eos, et in insidiis suis capientur iniqui.
ጽድቆሙ፡ ለራትዓን፡ ሰብእ፡ ትባልሖሙ፡ ወበኢያእምሮቶሙ፡ ይትአኀዙ፡ ኃጥአን።
The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them, but the unfaithful will be trapped by evil desires.
11:7
בְּמ֤וֹת אָדָ֣ם רָ֭שָׁע תֹּאבַ֣ד תִּקְוָ֑ה וְתוֹחֶ֖לֶת אוֹנִ֣ים אָבָֽדָה׃
τελευτήσαντος ἀνδρὸς δικαίου οὐκ ὄλλυται ἐλπίς τὸ δὲ καύχημα τῶν ἀσεβῶν ὄλλυται
Mortuo homine impio, nulla erit ultra spes, et exspectatio sollicitorum peribit.
መዊቶ፡ ብእሲ፡ ጻድቅ፡ ኢየኀጒል፡ ተስፋሁ፡ ትምክሕቶሙሰ፡ ለረሲዓን፡ ትጠፍእ።
When a wicked man dies, hope perishes, and expectation of power comes to nothing.
11:8
צַ֭דִּיק מִצָּרָ֣ה נֶחֱלָ֑ץ וַיָּבֹ֖א רָשָׁ֣ע תַּחְתָּֽיו׃
δίκαιος ἐκ θήρας ἐκδύνει ἀντ’ αὐτοῦ δὲ παραδίδοται ὁ ἀσεβής
Justus de angustia liberatus est, et tradetur impius pro eo.
ጻድቅሰ፡ እማዕገት፡ ያመሥጥ፡ ወቤዛ፡ ዚአሁ፡ ይትወሀብ፡ ረሲዕ።
A righteous person is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked takes his place.
11:9
בְּפֶ֗ה חָ֭נֵף יַשְׁחִ֣ת רֵעֵ֑הוּ וּ֝בְדַ֗עַת צַדִּיקִ֥ים יֵחָלֵֽצוּ׃
ἐν στόματι ἀσεβῶν παγὶς πολίταις αἴσθησις δὲ δικαίων εὔοδος
Simulator ore decipit amicum suum ; justi autem liberabuntur scientia.
ውስተ፡ አፈ፡ ረሲዓን፡ መሥገርት፡ ለሀገር፡ ወተዓውቆ፡ ጽድቅሰ፡ ፍኖት፡ ሠናይት።
With his mouth the godless man destroys his neighbor, but the righteous will be delivered through knowledge.
11:10
בְּט֣וּב צַ֭דִּיקִים תַּעֲלֹ֣ץ קִרְיָ֑ה וּבַאֲבֹ֖ד רְשָׁעִ֣ים רִנָּֽה׃
ἐν ἀγαθοῖς δικαίων κατώρθωσεν πόλις
In bonis justorum exsultabit civitas, et in perditione impiorum erit laudatio.
በኂሩተ፡ ጻድቃን፡ ትረትዕ፡ ሀገር፡ ወበኃጒሎሙ፡ ለረሲዓን፡ ትትፌሣሕ።
When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices. When the wicked perish, there is shouting.
11:11
בְּבִרְכַּ֣ת יְ֭שָׁרִים תָּר֣וּם קָ֑רֶת וּבְפִ֥י רְ֝שָׁעִ֗ים תֵּהָרֵֽס׃
στόμασιν δὲ ἀσεβῶν κατεσκάφη
Benedictione justorum exaltabitur civitas, et ore impiorum subvertetur.
በበረከቶሙ፡ ለራትዓን፡ ትትሌዓል፡ ሀገር፡ ወበአፉሆሙ፡ ለረሲዓን፡ ትትገፈታዕ።
By the blessing of the upright, the city is exalted, but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.
11:12
בׇּז־לְרֵעֵ֥הוּ חֲסַר־לֵ֑ב וְאִ֖ישׁ תְּבוּנ֣וֹת יַחֲרִֽישׁ׃
μυκτηρίζει πολίτας ἐνδεὴς φρενῶν ἀνὴρ δὲ φρόνιμος ἡσυχίαν ἄγει
Qui despicit amicum suum indigens corde est ; vir autem prudens tacebit.
ይሜንኑ፡ ሰብአ፡ ሀገር፡ ነዳየ፡ ጠቢበ፡ ወብእሲሰ፡ ጠቢብ፡ ጽማዌ፡ ያመጽእ።
One who despises his neighbor is void of wisdom, but a man of understanding holds his peace.
11:13
הוֹלֵ֣ךְ רָ֭כִיל מְגַלֶּה־סּ֑וֹד וְנֶאֱמַן־ר֝֗וּחַ מְכַסֶּ֥ה דָבָֽר׃
ἀνὴρ δίγλωσσος ἀποκαλύπτει βουλὰς ἐν συνεδρίῳ πιστὸς δὲ πνοῇ κρύπτει πράγματα
Qui ambulat fraudulenter, revelat arcana ; qui autem fidelis est animi, celat amici commissum.
ብእሲ፡ ዘክልኤ፡ ልሳኑ፡ ይከሥት፡ ምክረ፡ ማኅበር፡ ወምእመነ፡ እስትንፋስሰ፡ የኀብእ፡ ምክረ።
One who brings gossip betrays a confidence, but one who is of a trustworthy spirit is one who keeps a secret.
11:14
בְּאֵ֣ין תַּ֭חְבֻּלוֹת יִפׇּל־עָ֑ם וּ֝תְשׁוּעָ֗ה בְּרֹ֣ב יוֹעֵֽץ׃
οἷς μὴ ὑπάρχει κυβέρνησις πίπτουσιν ὥσπερ φύλλα σωτηρία δὲ ὑπάρχει ἐν πολλῇ βουλῇ
Ubi non est gubernator, populus corruet ; salus autem, ubi multa consilia.
እለ፡ አልቦሙ፡ ኃዳፍ፡ ይትነገፉ፡ ከመ፡ ቈጽል፡ መድኃኒት፡ በብዙኅ፡ ምክር፡ ይሄሉ።
Where there is no wise guidance, the nation falls, but in the multitude of counselors there is victory.
11:15
רַע־יֵ֭רוֹעַ כִּי־עָ֣רַב זָ֑ר וְשֹׂנֵ֖א תֹקְעִ֣ים בּוֹטֵֽחַ׃
πονηρὸς κακοποιεῖ ὅταν συμμείξῃ δικαίῳ μισεῖ δὲ ἦχον ἀσφαλείας
Affligetur malo qui fidem facit pro extraneo ; qui autem cavet laqueos securus erit.
እኩይ፡ የአኪ፡ ሶበ፡ ይዴመር፡ ምስለ፡ ጻድቅ፡ ወይጸልእ፡ ድምፀ፡ ዑቃቤ።
He who is collateral for a stranger will suffer for it, but he who refuses pledges of collateral is secure.
11:16
אֵֽשֶׁת־חֵ֭ן תִּתְמֹ֣ךְ כָּב֑וֹד וְ֝עָרִיצִ֗ים יִתְמְכוּ־עֹֽשֶׁר׃
γυνὴ εὐχάριστος ἐγείρει ἀνδρὶ δόξαν θρόνος δὲ ἀτιμίας γυνὴ μισοῦσα δίκαια πλούτου ὀκνηροὶ ἐνδεεῖς γίνονται οἱ δὲ ἀνδρεῖοι ἐρείδονται πλούτῳ
Mulier gratiosa inveniet gloriam, et robusti habebunt divitias.
ብእሲት፡ ኄርት፡ ታነሥእ፡ ክብረ፡ ለምታ፡ ብእሲትሰ፡ እንተ፡ ትጸልእ፡ ጽድቀ፡ መንበረ፡ ኃሣር፡ ይእቲ።
A gracious woman obtains honor, but violent men obtain riches.
11:17
גֹּמֵ֣ל נַ֭פְשׁוֹ אִ֣ישׁ חָ֑סֶד וְעֹכֵ֥ר שְׁ֝אֵר֗וֹ אַכְזָרִֽי׃
τῇ ψυχῇ αὐτοῦ ἀγαθὸν ποιεῖ ἀνὴρ ἐλεήμων ἐξολλύει δὲ αὐτοῦ σῶμα ὁ ἀνελεήμων
Benefacit animae suae vir misericors ; qui autem crudelis est, etiam propinquos abjicit.
ሀካይያን፡ እምብዕል፡ ይነድዩ፡ ወፅኑዓንሰ፡ ይዴግኑ፡ ብዕለ።
The merciful man does good to his own soul, but he who is cruel troubles his own flesh.
11:18
רָשָׁ֗ע עֹשֶׂ֥ה פְעֻלַּת־שָׁ֑קֶר וְזֹרֵ֥עַ צְ֝דָקָ֗ה שֶׂ֣כֶר אֱמֶֽת׃
ἀσεβὴς ποιεῖ ἔργα ἄδικα σπέρμα δὲ δικαίων μισθὸς ἀληθείας
Impius facit opus instabile, seminanti autem justitiam merces fidelis.
ለነፍሱ፡ ይገብር፡ ሠናየ፡ ብእሲ፡ መሐሪ፡ ወያማስን፡ ሥጋሁ፡ ዘኢይምሕር።
Wicked people earn deceitful wages, but one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.
11:19
כֵּן־צְדָקָ֥ה לְחַיִּ֑ים וּמְרַדֵּ֖ף רָעָ֣ה לְמוֹתֽוֹ׃
υἱὸς δίκαιος γεννᾶται εἰς ζωήν διωγμὸς δὲ ἀσεβοῦς εἰς θάνατον
Clementia praeparat vitam, et sectatio malorum mortem.
ረሲዕ፡ ይገብር፡ ምግባረ፡ ዓመፃ፡ ወለዘርአ፡ ጻድቃንሰ፡ ዐስብ፡ ህልው።
He who is truly righteous gets life. He who pursues evil gets death.
11:20
תּוֹעֲבַ֣ת יְ֭הֹוָה עִקְּשֵׁי־לֵ֑ב וּ֝רְצוֹנ֗וֹ תְּמִ֣ימֵי דָֽרֶךְ׃
βδέλυγμα κυρίῳ διεστραμμέναι ὁδοί προσδεκτοὶ δὲ αὐτῷ πάντες ἄμωμοι ἐν ταῖς ὁδοῖς αὐτῶν
Abominabile Domino cor pravum, et voluntas ejus in iis qui simpliciter ambulant.
ወልደ፡ ጻድቅ፡ ይትወለድ፡ ለሕይወት፡ ወልደተ፡ ረሲዓንሰ፡ ለሞት።
Those who are perverse in heart are an abomination to Yahweh, but those whose ways are blameless are his delight.
11:21
יָ֣ד לְ֭יָד לֹא־יִנָּ֣קֶה רָּ֑ע וְזֶ֖רַע צַדִּיקִ֣ים נִמְלָֽט׃
χειρὶ χεῖρας ἐμβαλὼν ἀδίκως οὐκ ἀτιμώρητος ἔσται ὁ δὲ σπείρων δικαιοσύνην λήμψεται μισθὸν πιστόν
Manus in manu non erit innocens malus ; semen autem justorum salvabitur.
ርኩሳት፡ በኀበ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ፍናው፡ ጠዋያት፡ ወኅሩያን፡ በቅድሜሁ፡ ኵሎሙ፡ እለ፡ ንጹሐን፡ በፍኖቶሙ።
Most certainly, the evil man will not be unpunished, but the offspring of the righteous will be delivered.
11:22
נֶ֣זֶם זָ֭הָב בְּאַ֣ף חֲזִ֑יר אִשָּׁ֥ה יָ֝פָ֗ה וְסָ֣רַת טָֽעַם׃
ὥσπερ ἐνώτιον ἐν ῥινὶ ὑός οὕτως γυναικὶ κακόφρονι κάλλος
Circulus aureus in naribus suis, mulier pulchra et fatua.
እደ፡ በእድ፡ ዘይእኅዝ፡ በግፍዕ፡ ኢይድኅን፡ እምኃጢአት፡ ወዘይዘርእሰ፡ ጽድቀ፡ ዐስበ፡ መሀይምናን፡ ይነሥእ።
Like a gold ring in a pig’s snout, is a beautiful woman who lacks discretion.
11:23
תַּאֲוַ֣ת צַדִּיקִ֣ים אַךְ־ט֑וֹב תִּקְוַ֖ת רְשָׁעִ֣ים עֶבְרָֽה׃
ἐπιθυμία δικαίων πᾶσα ἀγαθή ἐλπὶς δὲ ἀσεβῶν ἀπολεῖται
Desiderium justorum omne bonum est ; praestolatio impiorum furor.
ከመ፡ ውዕቦ፡ ወርቅ፡ ውስተ፡ ጽንፈ፡ አንፈ፡ ሐራውያ፡ ኅሡም፡ ከማሁ፡ ላህያ፡ ለብእሲት፡ እኪት።
The desire of the righteous is only good. The expectation of the wicked is wrath.
11:24
יֵ֣שׁ מְ֭פַזֵּר וְנוֹסָ֥ף ע֑וֹד וְחֹשֵׂ֥ךְ מִ֝יֹּ֗שֶׁר אַךְ־לְמַחְסֽוֹר׃
εἰσὶν οἳ τὰ ἴδια σπείροντες πλείονα ποιοῦσιν εἰσὶν καὶ οἳ συνάγοντες ἐλαττονοῦνται
Alii dividunt propria, et ditiores fiunt ; alii rapiunt non sua, et semper in egestate sunt.
ፍኖተ፡ ጽድቅ፡ ኵሉ፡ ሠናይ፡ ተስፋሆሙሰ፡ ለረሲዓን፡ ይትኀጐል።
There is one who scatters, and increases yet more. There is one who withholds more than is appropriate, but gains poverty.
11:25
נֶֽפֶשׁ־בְּרָכָ֥ה תְדֻשָּׁ֑ן וּ֝מַרְוֶ֗ה גַּם־ה֥וּא יוֹרֶֽא׃
ψυχὴ εὐλογουμένη πᾶσα ἁπλῆ ἀνὴρ δὲ θυμώδης οὐκ εὐσχήμων
Anima quae benedicit impinguabitur, et qui inebriat, ipse quoque inebriabitur.
ቦ፡ እላ፡ ዘዚአሆሙ፡ ይዘርኡ፡ ወያፈደፍዱ፡ ወቦ፡ እለ፡ እንዘ፡ ያስተጋብኡ፡ የሐፅፁ።
The liberal soul shall be made fat. He who waters shall be watered also himself.
11:26
מֹ֣נֵֽעַ בָּ֭ר יִקְּבֻ֣הוּ לְא֑וֹם וּ֝בְרָכָ֗ה לְרֹ֣אשׁ מַשְׁבִּֽיר׃
ὁ συνέχων σῖτον ὑπολίποιτο αὐτὸν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν εὐλογία δὲ εἰς κεφαλὴν τοῦ μεταδιδόντος
Qui abscondit frumenta maledicetur in populis ; benedictio autem super caput vendentium.
ወኵላ፡ ነፍስ፡ እንተ፡ ትትባረክ፡ ስፍሕት፡ ወብእሲሰ፡ መዓትም፡ ሕ
People curse someone who withholds grain, but blessing will be on the head of him who sells it.
11:27
שֹׁ֣חֵֽר ט֭וֹב יְבַקֵּ֣שׁ רָצ֑וֹן וְדֹרֵ֖שׁ רָעָ֣ה תְבוֹאֶֽנּוּ׃
τεκταινόμενος ἀγαθὰ ζητεῖ χάριν ἀγαθήν ἐκζητοῦντα δὲ κακά καταλήμψεται αὐτόν
Bene consurgit diluculo qui quaerit bona ; qui autem investigator malorum est, opprimetur ab eis.
ዘያበዝኅ፡ ሥርናዮ፡ የኃድጎ፡ ለአሕዛብ፡ ወይረግምዎ፡ ነዳያን፡ ወበረከት፡ ውስተ፡ ርእሱ፡ ለዘይምሕር፡ ወይሁብ።
He who diligently seeks good seeks favor, but he who searches after evil, it shall come to him.
11:28
בּוֹטֵ֣חַ בְּ֭עׇשְׁרוֹ ה֣וּא יִפּ֑וֹל וְ֝כֶעָלֶ֗ה צַדִּיקִ֥ים יִפְרָֽחוּ׃
ὁ πεποιθὼς ἐπὶ πλούτῳ οὗτος πεσεῖται ὁ δὲ ἀντιλαμβανόμενος δικαίων οὗτος ἀνατελεῖ
Qui confidit in divitiis suis corruet : justi autem quasi virens folium germinabunt.
ዘይሔሊ፡ ሠናየ፡ ይፈቅድ፡ ክብረ፡ ሠናየ፡ ወዘሰ፡ የኃሥሣ፡ ለእኪት፡ ትረክቦ።
He who trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous shall flourish as the green leaf.
11:29
עֹכֵ֣ר בֵּ֭יתוֹ יִנְחַל־ר֑וּחַ וְעֶ֥בֶד אֱ֝וִ֗יל לַֽחֲכַם־לֵֽב׃
ὁ μὴ συμπεριφερόμενος τῷ ἑαυτοῦ οἴκῳ κληρονομήσει ἄνεμον δουλεύσει δὲ ἄφρων φρονίμῳ
Qui conturbat domum suam possidebit ventos, et qui stultus est serviet sapienti.
ዘይትወከል፡ በብዕሉ፡ ውእቱ፡ ይወድቅ፡ ወዘይትዌከፎሙሰ፡ ለጻድቃን፡ ይሠርዕ።
He who troubles his own house shall inherit the wind. The foolish shall be servant to the wise of heart.
11:30
פְּֽרִי־צַ֭דִּיק עֵ֣ץ חַיִּ֑ים וְלֹקֵ֖חַ נְפָשׁ֣וֹת חָכָֽם׃
ἐκ καρποῦ δικαιοσύνης φύεται δένδρον ζωῆς ἀφαιροῦνται δὲ ἄωροι ψυχαὶ παρανόμων
Fructus justi lignum vitae, et qui suscipit animas sapiens est.
ዘኢየዓውቅ፡ ቤቶ፡ ይወርሶ፡ ነፋስ፡ ወይትቀነይ፡ ዓብድ፡ ለጠቢብ።
The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life. He who is wise wins souls.
11:31
הֵ֣ן צַ֭דִּיק בָּאָ֣רֶץ יְשֻׁלָּ֑ם אַ֝֗ף כִּֽי־רָשָׁ֥ע וְחוֹטֵֽא׃
εἰ ὁ μὲν δίκαιος μόλις σῴζεται ὁ ἀσεβὴς καὶ ἁμαρτωλὸς ποῦ φανεῖται
Si justus in terra recipit, quanto magis impius et peccator !
እምፍሬ፡ ጽድቅ፡ ይወጽእ፡ ዕፀ፡ ሕይወት፡ ወይሴስላ፡ ግብተ፡ ነፍሳተ፡ ዓማፅያን።
Behold, the righteous shall be repaid on the earth, how much more the wicked and the sinner!
11:32———
ወሶበ፡ ጻድቅ፡ እምዕፁብ፡ ይድኅን፡ ረሲዕ፡ ወኃጥእ፡ ወዓማፂ፡ በአይቴ፡ ያስተርኢ።
Behold, the righteous shall be repaid on the earth, how much more the wicked and the sinner!
