8:1
ወሖረ፡ በትዕቢተ፡ ወበትምይንተ፡ ልብ።
And he walked in the pride and stubbornness of his heart.
And the sun stood still in the midst of the heavens until he had destroyed the hosts of the Canaanites and the Hivites and the Hittites and the Perizzites and the Jebusites; and he slew them, and bound their feet upon their necks, and slew them with the edge of the sword, and cast them into a cave, and covered them over with a stone.
And he rose up in might and dwelt in the land of Zebulun, and he stirred up war, and Macedonia; and he took his provision from Samaria, and they gave him tribute out of Syria.
And he dwelt as far as the border of Kedar, and he stretched out as far as Sidon, and he laid tribute upon Achaia, and he lifted up his neck as far as the river Tekeze; and he turned back and sent his messengers as far as the sea of India.
And all his deeds were such as the Lord hates; he did according as Sablanyos, his teacher, had taught him in wickedness and oppression and defilement; and he made the orphan to cry out, and he had no compassion on the poor.
And he bowed down to idols, and he ate carrion and blood and what was torn and what was sacrificed to idols; and there was no justice, but in all his ways were injustice and wrath and fury and tumult; for he was a terror to the nations that were under his hand, and he made them tributary according to his desire.
And there was no fear of the Lord before his eyes; for he did everything that pleased him before Him, and he walked in stubbornness before the Lord his Creator.
And he did not act as his Creator did; and just as he did evil to his neighbor in the day that he seized him in his wrath, so likewise the Lord shall requite him.
And He shall take vengeance upon him in due time, even as He uprooted the sinners who were before him; for the Lord has said: I am the Lord who takes vengeance upon the proud who do not walk in My commandment, that I may blot out the remembrance of them from the earth.
