8:1

ወሖረ፡ በትዕቢተ፡ ወበትምይንተ፡ ልብ።

他行在心裡的驕傲和剛硬中。

And he walked in the pride and stubbornness of his heart.

8:2

))፡ እስመ፡ ቆመ፡ ፀሐይ፡ ማዕከለ፡ ሰማይ፡ እስከ፡ ያኃልቆሙ፡ ለሠራዊተ፡ ከናኔዎን፡ ወኤዊዎን፡ ወኬጤዎን፡ ወፌሬዜዎን፡ ወኢያቡሴዎን፡ ወሎሙኒ፡ ቀተሎሙ፡ ወአሠረ፡ እገሪሆሙ፡ ውስተ፡ ክሣውዲሆሙ፡ ወቀተሎሙ፡ በአፈ፡ ሐፂን፡ ወውሰት፡ በዓት፡ ወከደነ፡ ዕብነ፡ ዲቤሆሙ።

日頭停在天空當中，直到他殲滅了迦南人、希未人、赫人、比利洗人和耶布斯人的軍隊；他殺戮他們，將他們的腳捆在頸項上，用刀劍把他們殺了，扔在洞中，又用石頭蓋住他們。

And the sun stood still in the midst of the heavens until he had destroyed the hosts of the Canaanites and the Hivites and the Hittites and the Perizzites and the Jebusites; and he slew them, and bound their feet upon their necks, and slew them with the edge of the sword, and cast them into a cave, and covered them over with a stone.

8:3

ወየሐውር፡ በኵሉ፡ ዕበድ፡ ወእኩይ፡ ወሁከት።

他行在各樣的愚妄、邪惡和擾亂中。

And he walked in all manner of folly and evil and tumult.

8:4

ወዘነገርነ፡ ቀዲሙ፡ የሐርጽ፡ ወያነጕዕ፡ ወይበልዕ።

我們先前所說的，他都摧毀、擊碎，並吞滅。

And that which we spoke of before, he crushed and shattered and devoured.

8:5

ነገሥት፡ በውስተ፡ አሐቲ፡ በዓት፡ ወበጸሎቱ፡ ዓቀመ፡ ፀሐየ፡ በገባዖን፡ ከመ፡ ያኅልቆሙ፡ ለሠራዊተ፡ ዚአሆሙ፡ ወከተለ፡ በአሐቲ፡ ጊዜ፡ መጠነ

在一個洞裡，他藉著禱告使日頭停在基遍，要殲滅他們的軍隊；他一時之間把他們盡都殺了，無論他們有多少。

In one cave, and by his prayer he stayed the sun at Gibeon, that he might destroy their hosts; and he slew them all at one time, as many as they were.

8:6

ወኢያአምሮ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ ከመ፡ ውእቱ፡ ፈጣሪሁ፡ እለ፡ ይብል፡ መዋዕልየ፡ ኮነ፡ ከመ፡ መዋዕለ፡ ሰማይ።

他不認主，不知祂是創造他的，反倒說：我的年日已如天的年日。

And he did not acknowledge the Lord, that He was his Creator, but he said: My days have become like the days of heaven.

8:7

ወየሐሰብ፡ በልቡ፡ ከመ፡ እምኔሁ፡ ይሠርክ፡ ፀሐይ።

他心裡想，日頭乃是從他而出的。

And he thought in his heart that the sun rose out of himself.

8:8

ወይተነሣእ፡ በጎድ፡ ወየኃድር፡ በብሔረ፡ ዛብሎን፡ ወያነሥእ፡ ፀብዓ፡ ወመቄዶንያ፡ ወይነ፡ ሥእ፡ ሲሳየ፡ እምሰማርያ፡ ወይሁብዎ፡ አሰበእምሶርያ።

他以強力興起，住在西布倫地，又挑起爭戰，並馬其頓；他從撒瑪利亞取得糧食，他們又從敘利亞給他進貢。

And he rose up in might and dwelt in the land of Zebulun, and he stirred up war, and Macedonia; and he took his provision from Samaria, and they gave him tribute out of Syria.

8:9

ወየኃድር፡ እስከ፡ ደወለ፡ ቄዳር፡ ወይሰፍሕ፡ እስከ፡ ሲዶና፡ ወያገብዕ፡ ግብረ፡ በአካይያ፡ ወያሌዕል፡ ክሣደ፡ እስከ፡ ባሕረ፡ ተከዜ፡ ወይትመየጥ፡ ወይሰፍሕ፡ መልእክቶ፡ እስከ፡ ባሕረ፡ ሕንደኬ።

他住到基達的邊界，又延展到西頓，向亞該亞徵貢，並高抬頸項直到他迦西河；他又轉回，差遣使者直到印度的海。

And he dwelt as far as the border of Kedar, and he stretched out as far as Sidon, and he laid tribute upon Achaia, and he lifted up his neck as far as the river Tekeze; and he turned back and sent his messengers as far as the sea of India.
