5:1
Post hæc autem electi sunt, ut ascenderent principes pagorum per domos, et tribus suas, et uxores illorum, et filii et filiæ eorum, et servi et ancillæ ipsorum ,et pecora eorum.
After this were the chiefs of fathers’ houses chosen to go up according to their tribes, with their wives and sons and daughters, with their menservants and maidservants, and their cattle.
此後，那些按支派作宗族首領的人被選召上去，連同他們的妻子、兒女、僕婢和牲畜。
5:2
Et Darius rex misit una cum eis equites mille, donec deducerent eos in Jerusalem cum pace, et cum musicis, et cum tympanis et tibiis.
And Darius sent with them a thousand horsemen, till they had brought them back to Jerusalem safely, and with musical instruments, tabrets and flutes.

Et omnes fratres erant ludentes, et fecit eos ascendere simul cum eis.
And all their kindred played, and he made them go up together with them.

Et hæc sunt nomina virorum, qui ascenderunt per pagos suos in tribus, et in partem principatus ipsorum.
And these are the names of the men which went up, according to their families among their tribes, after their several divisions.

qui locutus est sub Dario rege Persarum sermones mirificos in secundo anno regni ipsius mense Nisan primo.
who spoke wise sentences before Darius the king of Persia in the second year of his reign, in the month Nisan, which is the first month.

Sunt autem hi, qui ascenderunt ex Judæa de captivitate transmigrationis, quos transmigravit Nabuchodonosor rex Babyloniæ in Babylonem. Et reversus est in Jerusalem.
And these are they of Jewry that came up from the captivity, where they lived as strangers, whom Nabuchodonosor the king of Babylon had carried away to Babylon.

And when the description of the kindred of these men was sought in the register, and was not found, they were removed from executing the office of the priesthood:

Et dixit illis Nehemias et Astharas, Ne participentur sancta, donec exurgat pontifex doctus in ostensionem et veritatem.
for to them said Nehemias and Attharias, that they should not be partakers of the holy things, till there arose up a high priest wearing Urim and Thummim.

Their menservants and handmaids were seven thousand three hundred thirty and seven: the minstrels and singers, two hundred forty and five:

et dari in templum thesaurum operum sacrum auri mnas duodecim millia, et mnas argenti quinque millia, et stolas sacerdotales centum.
and to give into the holy treasury of the works a thousand pounds of gold, five thousand of silver, and a hundred priestly vestments.

Et habitaverunt Sacerdotes et Levitæ, et qui exierant de plebe in Jerusalem et in regione, et sacri cantores, et ostiarii, et omnis Israël in regionibus suis.
And the priests and the Levites and those who were of the people lived in Jerusalem and the country; the holy singers also and the gatekeepers and all Israel in their villages.
到了七月，以色列子孫各歸己處之時，便同心合意地聚集在東面第一座門前的廣場上。

Instante autem septimo mense, cumque essent filii Israël unusquisque in suis rebus, convenerunt unanimes in atrium, quod erat ante januam Orientalem.
But when the seventh month was at hand, and when the children of Israel were every man in his own place, they came all together with one consent into the broad place before the first porch which is toward the east.
約薩達之子耶書亞和他作祭司的弟兄們，並撒拉鐵之子所羅巴伯和他的弟兄們，都起來築起以色列神的祭壇，
5:48
Et stantes Jesus filius Josedec, et fratres ejus sacerdotes, et Zorobabel filius Salathiel, et hujus fratres, paraverunt altare,
Then stood up Jesus the son of Josedek, and his kindred the priests, and Zorobabel the son of Salathiel, and his kindred, and made ready the altar of the God of Israel,
要在壇上獻燔祭，照神人摩西書上所明定的。

ut offerrent super illud holocautomata, secundum quæ in libro Moysi hominis Dei scripta sunt.
to offer burned sacrifices upon it, according as it is expressly commanded in the book of Moses the man of God.

And certain were gathered to them out of the other nations of the land, and they erected the altar upon its own place, because all the nations of the land were at enmity with them, and oppressed them; and they offered sacrifices according to the time, and burnt offerings to the Lord both morning and evening.

Et egerunt scenopegiam, et diem solemnem, sicut præceptum est in lege : et sacrificia quotidie, sicut oportebat :
Also they held the feast of tabernacles, as it is commanded in the law, and offered sacrifices daily, as was meet:
此後又獻常獻的祭，以及安息日、月朔和一切聖節期的祭。
5:52
et post hæc oblationes institutas, et hostias sabbathorum, et neomeniarum, et dierum solemnium omnium sanctificatorum.
and after that, the continual oblations, and the sacrifices of the Sabbaths, and of the new moons, and of all the consecrated feasts.
凡向神許願的人，從七月月朔起就開始向神獻祭，那時神的殿還沒有建造。

Et quotquot vovebant Domino a neomenia septimi mensis, cœperunt hostias offerre Deo, et templum Domini nondum erat ædificatum.
And all those who had made any vow to God began to offer sacrifices to God from the new moon of the seventh month, although the temple of God was not yet built.
他們把銀子給石匠和木匠，又把食物、飲料和油給西頓人和推羅人，叫他們把香柏木從黎巴嫩運下來，紮成木筏運到約帕的港口，這都是照波斯王古列所頒給他們的命令。

Et dederunt pecuniam lapidariis et fabris, et potum et pabula cum gaudio.
And they gave money to the masons and carpenters; and meat and drink,

Et dederunt carra Sidoniis, et Tyriis, ut transveherent illis de Libano trabes cedrinas, et facerent rates in Joppe portu, secundum decretum quod scriptum erat eis a Cyro rege Persarum.
and cars to them of Sidon and Tyre, that they should bring cedar trees from Libanus, and convey them in floats to the haven of Joppa, according to the commandment which was written for them by Cyrus king of the Persians.

And in the second year after his coming to the temple of God at Jerusalem, in the second month, began Zorobabel the son of Salathiel, and Jesus the son of Josedek, and their kindred, and the priests the Levites, and all those who were come to Jerusalem out of the captivity:

et fundaverunt templum Dei novilunio secundi mensis secundi anni cum venissent in Judæam et Jerusalem.
and they laid the foundation of the temple of God on the new moon of the second month, in the second year after they were come to Jewry and Jerusalem.
工人建造主的殿，祭司穿著禮服，在音樂和號角聲中站立；利未人亞薩的子孫拿著鈸，照以色列王大衛的定例頌讚稱頌主。
5:58
Et statuerunt Levitas a viginti annis, super opera Domini: et stetit Jesus et filius ejus, et fratres omnes Levitæ conspirantes, et executores legis, facientes opera in domo Domini.
And they appointed the Levites from twenty years old over the works of the Lord. Then stood up Jesus, and his sons and kindred, and Kadmiel his brother, and the sons of Jesus, Emadabun, and the sons of Joda the son of Iliadun, and their sons and kindred, all the Levites, with one accord setters forward of the business, laboring to advance the works in the house of God. So the builders built the temple of the Lord.

And the priests stood arrayed in their vestments with musical instruments and trumpets, and the Levites the sons of Asaph with their cymbals,

5:60
collaudantes Dominum, et benedicentes secundum David regem Israël.
singing songs of thanksgiving, and praising the Lord, after the order of David king of Israel.
祭司、利未人和按宗族作首領中的長老，就是那些曾見過先前那殿的人，看見這殿的建造，便大聲哭號，
5:61
Et cantabant canticum Domino, quoniam dulcedo ejus, et honor in sæcula super omnem Israël.
And they sang aloud, praising the Lord in songs of thanksgiving, because his goodness and his glory are forever in all Israel.
也有許多人大聲吹號歡呼，
5:62
Et omnis populus tuba cecinerunt, et proclamaverunt voce magna, collaudantes Dominum in suscitatione domus Domini.
And all the people sounded trumpets, and shouted with a loud voice, singing songs of thanksgiving to the Lord for the rearing up of the house of the Lord.
以致百姓因眾人的哭聲而聽不見號聲，因為那羣眾吹號的聲音極大，連遠處都聽得見。
5:63
Et venerunt ex sacerdotibus et Levitis, et præsidentibus secundum pagos senioribus, qui viderant pristinam domum :
Also of the priests the Levites, and of the heads of their families, the ancients who had seen the former house came to the building of this with lamentation and great weeping.
猶大和便雅憫支派的仇敵聽見了，便來打探這號聲是甚麼意思。
5:64
et ad hujus ædificationem cum clamore et planctu magno, et multi cum tubis et gaudio magno :
But many with trumpets and joy shouted with loud voice,
他們得知是那些從被擄之地回來的人在為主以色列的神建造聖殿，
5:65
in tantum ut populus non audiret tubas propter planctum populi. Turba enim erat tubis canens magnifice, ita ut longe audiretur.
insomuch that the people heard not the trumpets for the weeping of the people: for the multitude sounded marvelously, so that it was heard afar off.
便來見所羅巴伯、耶書亞和宗族的首領，對他們說：「我們要與你們一同建造。」
5:66
Et audierunt inimici tribus Judæ, et Benjamin, et venerunt scire quæ esset vox tubarum.
Wherefore when the enemies of the tribe of Judah and Benjamin heard it, they came to know what that noise of trumpets should mean.
「我們像你們一樣尋求你們的主，向祂獻祭，自從亞述王亞斯巴撒列把我們遷來這裡的日子以來便是如此。」
5:67
Et cognoverunt quoniam qui erant ex captivitate, ædificant templum Domino Deo Israël.
And they perceived that those who were of the captivity did build the temple to the Lord, the God of Israel.
所羅巴伯、耶書亞和以色列宗族的首領對他們說：「為主我們的神建殿，與你們無關，乃是我們的事。
5:68
Et accedentes ad Zorobabel et Jesum, præpositos pagorum, dixerunt eis, Ædificabimus una vobiscum :
So they went to zorobabel and Jesus, and to the chief men of the families, and said to them, we will build together with you.
我們要單獨為以色列的主建造，照波斯王古列所吩咐我們的。」
5:69
Similiter enim audivimus Dominum vestrum, et ipsi pariter incedimus a diebus Asbazareth regis Assyriorum, qui transmigravit nos huc.
For we likewise, as you⌃, do obey your Lord, and do sacrifice to him from the days of Asbasareth the king of the Assyrians, who brought us hither.
那地的列國欺壓住在猶大的人，又圍困攔阻他們建造，
5:70
Et dixit illis Zorobabel, et Jesus, et principes pagorum Israël,
Then Zorobabel and Jesus and the chief men of the families of Israel said to them, It is not for you to build the house to the Lord our God.
他們用陰謀、煽動和聚眾的手段，攔阻工程不得完成，在古列王在世的整段日子都是如此。
5:71
Non est nobis et vobis ædificare domum Dei nostri. Nos enim soli ædificabimus Domino Israël secundum ea quæ præcepit nobis Cyrus rex Persarum.
We ourselves alone will build to the Lord of Israel, according as Cyrus the king of the Persians has commanded us.
他們被攔阻建造達兩年之久，直到大流士作王。
5:72
Gentes autem terræ incumbentes his qui sunt in Judæa, et levantes opus ædificationis et insidias, et populos adducentes prohibebant eos ædificare,
But the heathen of the land lying heavy upon the inhabitants of Judea, and holding them strait, hindered their building;
那地的列國欺壓住在猶大的人，攔阻建造的工程，設下陰謀，又煽動民眾來阻止他們建造，
5:73
et aggressuras exercentes impedierunt, ne consummaretur ædificium omni tempore vitæ Cyri regis, et protraxerunt structuram per biennium usque ad Darii regnum.
and by their secret plots, and popular persuasions and commotions, they hindered the finishing of the building all the time that King Cyrus lived: so they were hindered from building for the space of two years, until the reign of Darius.
並施行襲擊，攔阻工程；在古列王在世的整段日子，建造之工都未得完成，這樣便拖延了兩年，直到大流士作王。
