9:1

Et exurgens Esdras ab ante atrium templi, abiit in pastophorium Jonathæ filii Nasabi,

Then Esdras rising from the court of the temple went to the chamber of Jonas the son of Eliasib,

以斯拉便從聖殿的院子起身，進入以利亞實之子約哈難的房間，

9:2

et hospitatus illic non gustavit panem, nec aquam bibit super iniquitatem multitudinis.

and lodged there, and did eat no bread nor drink water, mourning for the great iniquities of the multitude.

住在那裡，不喫飯也不喝水，為眾人的大罪行哀慟。

9:3

Et facta est prædicatio in omni Judæa, et in Jerusalem omnibus qui erant ex captivitate in Jerusalem congregati,

And there was made proclamation in all Jewry and Jerusalem to all those who were of the captivity, that they should be gathered together at Jerusalem:

於是有通告傳遍全猶大和耶路撒冷，叫一切被擄回來的人都聚集到耶路撒冷，

9:4

ut quicumque non occurrerit biduo, vel triduo diei secundum judicium assidentium seniorum, tollerentur facultates suæ, et ipse alienus judicaretur a multitudine captivitatis.

and that whoever met not there within two or three days, according as the elders that bare rule appointed, their cattle should be seized to the use of the temple, and himself cast out from the multitude of those who were of the captivity.

凡兩三日內不來的，照長老們的裁決，他的牲畜要被沒收歸聖殿，他本人也要從被擄回來的會眾中被革除。

9:5

Et congregati sunt omnes qui erant ex tribu Juda, et Benjamin in tribus diebus in Jerusalem. Hic mensis est nonus, dies mensis vicesimus.

And in three days were all they of the tribe of Judah and Benjamin gathered together at Jerusalem: this was the ninth month, on the twentieth day of the month.

猶大和便雅憫支派的人便在三日之內聚集到耶路撒冷，那是九月二十日。

9:6

Et sedit omnis multitudo in area templi trementes, propter hyemem præsentem.

And all the multitude sat together trembling in the broad place before the temple because of the present foul weather.

眾人都坐在聖殿的廣場上，因當時正下大雨而戰兢。

9:7

Et exurgens Esdras, dixit illis : Vos inique fecistis collocantes vobis in matrimonium uxores alienigenas, ut adderetis ad peccata Israël.

So Esdras arose up and said to them, you⌃ have transgressed the law and married strange wives, thereby to increase the sins of Israel.

以斯拉起來對他們說：「你們犯了罪，娶了異族的女子，使以色列罪上加罪。

9:8

Et nunc date confessionem, et magnificentiam Domino Deo patrum nostrorum :

And now make confession and give glory to the Lord, the God of our fathers,

如今你們要向主我們列祖的神認罪歸榮耀，

9:9

et perficite voluntatem ipsius, et discedite a gentibus terræ, et ab uxoribus alienigenis.

and do his will, and separate yourselves from the heathen of the land, and from the strange women.

遵行祂的旨意，與那地的列國並異族的女子分別。」
