1:1
Factum est autem, postquam mortuus est Saul, ut David reverteretur a caede Amalec, et maneret in Siceleg duos dies.
After the death of Saul, when David had returned from the slaughter of the Amalekites, and David had stayed two days in Ziklag,
掃羅死後，大衛擊殺亞瑪力人回來，在洗革拉住了兩天。
1:2
In die autem tertia apparuit homo veniens de castris Saul veste conscissa, et pulvere conspersus caput : et ut venit ad David, cecidit super faciem suam, et adoravit.
on the third day, behold, a man came out of the camp from Saul, with his clothes torn and earth on his head. When he came to David, he fell to the earth and showed respect.
第三天，有一人從掃羅的營裏出來，衣服撕裂，頭蒙灰塵，到大衛面前伏地叩拜。
1:3
Dixitque ad eum David : Unde venis ? Qui ait ad eum : De castris Israël fugi.
David said to him, “Where do you come from?” He said to him, “I have escaped out of the camp of Israel.”
大衛問他說：「你從哪裏來？」他說：「我從以色列的營裏逃來。」
1:4
Et dixit ad eum David : Quod est verbum quod factum est ? indica mihi. Qui ait : Fugit populus ex praelio, et multi corruentes e populo mortui sunt : sed et Saul et Jonathas filius ejus interierunt.
David said to him, “How did it go? Please tell me.” He answered, “The people have fled from the battle, and many of the people also have fallen and are dead. Saul and Jonathan his son are dead also.”
大衛又問他說：「事情怎樣？請你告訴我。」他回答說：「百姓從陣上逃跑，也有許多人仆倒死亡；掃羅和他兒子約拿單也死了。」

Dixitque David ad adolescentem qui nuntiabat ei : Unde scis quia mortuus est Saul, et Jonathas filius ejus ?
David said to the young man who told him, “How do you know that Saul and Jonathan his son are dead?”
大衛問報信的少年人說：「你怎麼知道掃羅和他兒子約拿單死了呢？」
1:6
Et ait adolescens qui nuntiabat ei : Casu veni in montem Gelboë, et Saul incumbebat super hastam suam : porro currus et equites appropinquabant ei,
The young man who told him said, “As I happened by chance on Mount Gilboa, behold, Saul was leaning on his spear; and behold, the chariots and the horsemen followed close behind him.
報信的少年人說：「我偶然到基利波山，看見掃羅伏在自己槍上，有戰車、馬兵緊緊地追他。

et conversus post tergum suum, vidensque me, vocavit. Cui cum respondissem : Adsum :
When he looked behind him, he saw me and called to me. I answered, ‘Here I am.’
他回頭看見我，就呼叫我。我說：『我在這裏。』
1:8
dixit mihi : Quisnam es tu ? Et aio ad eum : Amalecites ego sum.
He said to me, ‘Who are you?’ I answered him, ‘I am an Amalekite.’
他問我說：『你是甚麼人？』我說：『我是亞瑪力人。』
1:9
Et locutus est mihi : Sta super me, et interfice me : quoniam tenent me angustiae, et adhuc tota anima mea in me est.
He said to me, ‘Please stand beside me, and kill me, for anguish has taken hold of me because my life lingers in me.’
他說：『請你來，將我殺死；因為痛苦抓住我，我的生命尚存。』
1:10
Stansque super eum, occidi illum : sciebam enim quod vivere non poterat post ruinam : et tuli diadema quod erat in capite ejus, et armillam de brachio illius, et attuli ad te dominum meum huc.
So I stood beside him and killed him, because I was sure that he could not live after he had fallen. I took the crown that was on his head and the bracelet that was on his arm, and have brought them here to my lord.”
我準知他仆倒必不能活，就去將他殺死，把他頭上的冠冕、臂上的鐲子拿到我主這裏。」
1:11
Apprehendens autem David, vestimenta sua scidit, omnesque viri qui erant cum eo,
Then David took hold of his clothes and tore them; and all the men who were with him did likewise.
大衛就撕裂衣服，跟隨他的人也是如此，
1:12
et planxerunt, et fleverunt, et jejunaverunt usque ad vesperam super Saul, et super Jonathan filium ejus, et super populum Domini, et super domum Israël, eo quod corruissent gladio.
They mourned, wept, and fasted until evening for Saul and for Jonathan his son, and for the people of Yahweh, and for the house of Israel, because they had fallen by the sword.
而且悲哀哭號，禁食到晚上，是因掃羅和他兒子約拿單，並耶和華的民以色列家的人，倒在刀下。
1:13
Dixitque David ad juvenem qui nuntiaverat ei : Unde es tu ? Qui respondit : Filius hominis advenae Amalecitae ego sum.
David said to the young man who told him, “Where are you from?” He answered, “I am the son of a foreigner, an Amalekite.”
大衛問報信的少年人說：「你是哪裏的人？」他說：「我是亞瑪力客人的兒子。」
1:14
Et ait ad eum David : Quare non timuisti mittere manum tuam ut occideres christum Domini ?
David said to him, “Why were you not afraid to stretch out your hand to destroy Yahweh’s anointed?”
大衛說：「你伸手殺害耶和華的受膏者，怎麼不畏懼呢？」
1:15
Vocansque David unum de pueris suis, ait : Accedens irrue in eum. Qui percussit illum, et mortuus est.
David called one of the young men and said, “Go near, and cut him down!” He struck him so that he died.
大衛叫了一個少年人來，說：「你去殺他吧！」
1:16
Et ait ad eum David : Sanguis tuus super caput tuum : os enim tuum locutum est adversum te, dicens : Ego interfeci christum Domini.
David said to him, “Your blood be on your head, for your mouth has testified against you, saying, ‘I have slain Yahweh’s anointed.’”
大衛對他說：「你流人血的罪歸到自己的頭上，因為你親口作見證說：『我殺了耶和華的受膏者。』」少年人就把他殺了。
1:17
Planxit autem David planctum hujuscemodi super Saul, et super Jonathan filium ejus
David lamented with this lamentation over Saul and over Jonathan his son
大衛作哀歌，弔掃羅和他兒子約拿單，
1:18
(et praecepit ut docerent filios Juda arcum, sicut scriptum est in libro justorum), et ait : Considera, Israël, pro his qui mortui sunt, super excelsa tua vulnerati.
(and he commanded them to teach the children of Judah the song of the bow; behold, it is written in the book of Jashar):
且吩咐將這歌教導猶大人。這歌名叫「弓歌」，寫在雅煞珥書上。

Inclyti Israël super montes tuos interfecti sunt : quomodo ceciderunt fortes ?
“Your glory, Israel, was slain on your high places! How the mighty have fallen!
歌中說：以色列啊， 你尊榮者在山上被殺！ 大英雄何竟死亡！
1:20
Nolite annuntiare in Geth, neque annuntietis in compitis Ascalonis : ne forte laetentur filiae Philisthiim ; ne exultent filiae incircumcisorum.
Don’t tell it in Gath. Don’t publish it in the streets of Ashkelon, lest the daughters of the Philistines rejoice, lest the daughters of the uncircumcised triumph.
不要在迦特報告； 不要在亞實基倫街上傳揚； 免得非利士的女子歡樂； 免得未受割禮之人的女子矜誇。
1:21
Montes Gelboë, nec ros, nec pluvia veniant super vos, neque sint agri primitiarum : quia ibi abjectus est clypeus fortium : clypeus Saul, quasi non esset unctus oleo.
You mountains of Gilboa, let there be no dew or rain on you, and no fields of offerings; for there the shield of the mighty was defiled and cast away, the shield of Saul was not anointed with oil.
基利波山哪，願你那裏沒有雨露！ 願你田地無土產可作供物！ 因為英雄的盾牌在那裏被污丟棄； 掃羅的盾牌彷彿未曾抹油。
1:22
A sanguine interfectorum, ab adipe fortium, sagitta Jonathae numquam rediit retrorsum, et gladius Saul non est reversus inanis.
From the blood of the slain, from the fat of the mighty, Jonathan’s bow didn’t turn back. Saul’s sword didn’t return empty.
約拿單的弓箭非流敵人的血不退縮； 掃羅的刀劍非剖勇士的油不收回。

Saul et Jonathas amabiles, et decori in vita sua, in morte quoque non sunt divisi : aquilis velociores, leonibus fortiores.
Saul and Jonathan were lovely and pleasant in their lives. In their death, they were not divided. They were swifter than eagles. They were stronger than lions.
掃羅和約拿單－ 活時相悅相愛，死時也不分離 －他們比鷹更快，比獅子還強。

Filiae Israël, super Saul flete, qui vestiebat vos coccino in deliciis, qui praebebat ornamenta aurea cultui vestro.
You daughters of Israel, weep over Saul, who clothed you delicately in scarlet, who put ornaments of gold on your clothing.
以色列的女子啊，當為掃羅哭號！ 他曾使你們穿朱紅色的美衣， 使你們衣服有黃金的妝飾。

Quomodo ceciderunt fortes in praelio ? Jonathas in excelsis tuis occisus est ?
How the mighty have fallen in the middle of the battle! Jonathan was slain on your high places.
英雄何竟在陣上仆倒！ 約拿單何竟在山上被殺！

Doleo super te, frater mi Jonatha, decore nimis, et amabilis super amorem mulierum. Sicut mater unicum amat filium suum, ita ego te diligebam.
I am distressed for you, my brother Jonathan. You have been very pleasant to me. Your love to me was wonderful, surpassing the love of women.
我兄約拿單哪，我為你悲傷！ 我甚喜悅你！ 你向我發的愛情奇妙非常， 過於婦女的愛情。

Quomodo ceciderunt robusti, et perierunt arma bellica ?
How the mighty have fallen, and the weapons of war have perished!”
英雄何竟仆倒！ 戰具何竟滅沒！
