8:1
Factum est autem post haec , percussit David Philisthiim , et humiliavit eos , et tulit David frenum tributi de manu Philisthiim .
After this, David struck the Philistines and subdued them; and David took the bridle of the mother city out of the hand of the Philistines.
此後，大衛攻打非利士人，把他們治服，從他們手下奪取了京城的權柄 ；
8:2
Et percussit Moab , et mensus est eos funiculo , coaequans terrae : mensus est autem duos funiculos , unum ad occidendum , et unum ad vivificandum : factusque est Moab David serviens sub tributo .
He defeated Moab, and measured them with the line, making them to lie down on the ground; and he measured two lines to put to death, and one full line to keep alive. The Moabites became servants to David, and brought tribute.
又攻打摩押人，使他們躺臥在地上，用繩量一量：量二繩的殺了，量一繩的存留。摩押人就歸服大衛，給他進貢。
8:3
Et percussit David Adarezer filium Rohob regem Soba , quando profectus est ut dominaretur super flumen Euphraten .
David also struck Hadadezer the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to recover his dominion at the River.
瑣巴王利合的兒子哈大底謝往大河去，要奪回他的國權。大衛就攻打他，
8:4
Et captis David ex parte ejus mille septingentis equitibus , et viginti millibus peditum , subnervavit omnes jugales curruum : dereliquit autem ex eis centum currus .
David took from him one thousand seven hundred horsemen and twenty thousand footmen. David hamstrung the chariot horses, but reserved enough of them for one hundred chariots.
擒拿了他的馬兵一千七百，步兵二萬，將拉戰車的馬砍斷蹄筋，但留下一百輛車的馬。
8:5
Venit quoque Syria Damasci , ut praesidium ferret Adarezer regi Soba : et percussit David de Syria viginti duo millia virorum .
When the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadadezer king of Zobah, David struck twenty two thousand men of the Syrians.
大馬士革的亞蘭人來幫助瑣巴王哈大底謝，大衛就殺了亞蘭人二萬二千。
8:6
Et posuit David praesidium in Syria Damasci : factaque est Syria David serviens sub tributo : servavitque Dominus David in omnibus ad quaecumque profectus est .
Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus; and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought tribute. Yahweh gave victory to David wherever he went.
於是大衛在大馬士革的亞蘭地設立防營，亞蘭人就歸服他，給他進貢。大衛無論往哪裏去，耶和華都使他得勝。
8:7
Et tulit David arma aurea quae habebant servi Adarezer , et detulit ea in Jerusalem .
David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.
他奪了哈大底謝臣僕所拿的金盾牌，帶到耶路撒冷。
8:8
Et de Bete et de Beroth , civitatibus Adarezer , tulit rex David aes multum nimis .
From Betah and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, King David took a great quantity of bronze.
大衛王又從屬哈大底謝的比他和比羅他城中奪取了許多的銅。
8:9
Audivit autem Thou rex Emath quod percussisset David omne robur Adarezer ,
When Toi king of Hamath heard that David had struck all the army of Hadadezer,

et misit Thou Joram filium suum ad regem David , ut salutaret eum congratulans , et gratias ageret : eo quod expugnasset Adarezer , et percussisset eum . Hostis quippe erat Thou Adarezer , et in manu ejus erant vasa aurea , et vasa argentea , et vasa aerea :
then Toi sent Joram his son to King David to greet him and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer and struck him; for Hadadezer had wars with Toi. Joram brought with him vessels of silver, vessels of gold, and vessels of bronze.
就打發他兒子約蘭去見大衛王，問他的安，為他祝福，因為他殺敗了哈大底謝（原來陀以與哈大底謝常常爭戰）。約蘭帶了金銀銅的器皿來，
8:11
quae et ipsa sanctificavit rex David Domino cum argento et auro quae sanctificaverat de universis gentibus quas subegerat ,
King David also dedicated these to Yahweh, with the silver and gold that he dedicated of all the nations which he subdued—
大衛王將這些器皿和他治服各國所得來的金銀都分別為聖，獻給耶和華，
8:12
de Syria , et Moab , et filiis Ammon , et Philisthiim , et Amalec , et de manubiis Adarezer filii Rohob regis Soba .
of Syria, of Moab, of the children of Ammon, of the Philistines, of Amalek, and of the plunder of Hadadezer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah.
就是從亞蘭、摩押、亞捫、非利士、亞瑪力人所得來的，以及從瑣巴王利合的兒子哈大底謝所掠之物。
8:13
Fecit quoque sibi David nomen cum reverteretur capta Syria in valle Salinarum , caesis decem et octo millibus :
David earned a reputation when he returned from striking down eighteen thousand men of the Syrians in the Valley of Salt.
大衛在鹽谷擊殺了亞蘭 一萬八千人回來，就得了大名；
8:14
et posuit in Idumaea custodes , statuitque praesidium : et facta est universa Idumaea serviens David , et servavit Dominus David in omnibus ad quaecumque profectus est .
He put garrisons in Edom. Throughout all Edom, he put garrisons, and all the Edomites became servants to David. Yahweh gave victory to David wherever he went.
又在以東全地設立防營，以東人就都歸服大衛。大衛無論往哪裏去，耶和華都使他得勝。
8:15
Et regnavit David super omnem Israël : faciebat quoque David judicium et justitiam omni populo suo .
David reigned over all Israel; and David executed justice and righteousness for all his people.
大衛作以色列眾人的王，又向眾民秉公行義。
8:16
Joab autem filius Sarviae erat super exercitum : porro Josaphat filius Ahilud erat a commentariis :
Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the army, Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder,
洗魯雅的兒子約押作元帥；亞希律的兒子約沙法作史官；
8:17
et Sadoc filius Achitob , et Achimelech filius Abiathar , erant sacerdotes : et Saraias , scriba :
Zadok the son of Ahitub and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar were priests, Seraiah was scribe,
亞希突的兒子撒督和亞比亞他的兒子亞希米勒作祭司長；西萊雅作書記；

Banaias autem filius Jojadae super Cerethi et Phelethi : filii autem David sacerdotes erant .
Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David’s sons were chief ministers.
