29:1
Profectus ergo Jacob venit in terram orientalem .
Then Jacob went on his journey, and came to the land of the children of the east.
雅各起行，到了東方人之地，
29:2
Et vidit puteum in agro , tres quoque greges ovium accubantes juxta eum : nam ex illo adaquabantur pecora , et os ejus grandi lapide claudebatur .
He looked, and saw a well in the field, and saw three flocks of sheep lying there by it. For out of that well they watered the flocks. The stone on the well’s mouth was large.
看見田間有一口井，有三群羊臥在井旁；因為人飲羊群都是用那井裏的水。井口上的石頭是大的。
29:3
Morisque erat ut cunctis ovibus congregatis devolverent lapidem , et refectis gregibus rursum super os putei ponerent .
There all the flocks were gathered. They rolled the stone from the well’s mouth, and watered the sheep, and put the stone back on the well’s mouth in its place.
常有羊群在那裏聚集，牧人把石頭轉離井口飲羊，隨後又把石頭放在井口的原處。
29:4
Dixitque ad pastores : Fratres , unde estis ? Qui responderunt : De Haran .
Jacob said to them, “My relatives, where are you from?” They said, “We are from Haran.”
雅各對牧人說：「弟兄們，你們是哪裏來的？」他們說：「我們是哈蘭來的。」
29:5
Quos interrogans , Numquid , ait , nostis Laban filium Nachor ? Dixerunt : Novimus .
He said to them, “Do you know Laban, the son of Nahor?” They said, “We know him.”
他問他們說：「拿鶴的孫子拉班，你們認識嗎？」他們說：「我們認識。」
29:6
Sanusne est ? inquit . Valet , inquiunt : et ecce Rachel filia ejus venit cum grege suo .
He said to them, “Is it well with him?” They said, “It is well. See, Rachel, his daughter, is coming with the sheep.”
雅各說：「他平安嗎？」他們說：「平安。看哪，他女兒拉結領着羊來了。」
29:7
Dixitque Jacob : Adhuc multum diei superest , nec est tempus ut reducantur ad caulas greges : date ante potum ovibus , et sic eas ad pastum reducite .
He said, “Behold, it is still the middle of the day, not time to gather the livestock together. Water the sheep, and go and feed them.”
雅各說：「日頭還高，不是羊群聚集的時候，你們不如飲羊，再去放一放。」
29:8
Qui responderunt : Non possumus , donec omnia pecora congregentur , et amoveamus lapidem de ore putei , ut adaquemus greges .
They said, “We can’t, until all the flocks are gathered together, and they roll the stone from the well’s mouth. Then we will water the sheep.”
他們說：「我們不能，必等羊群聚齊，人把石頭轉離井口才可飲羊。」
29:9
Adhuc loquebantur , et ecce Rachel veniebat cum ovibus patris sui : nam gregem ipsa pascebat .
While he was yet speaking with them, Rachel came with her father’s sheep, for she kept them.
雅各正和他們說話的時候，拉結領着她父親的羊來了，因為那些羊是她牧放的。
29:10
Quam cum vidisset Jacob , et sciret consobrinam suam , ovesque Laban avunculi sui , amovit lapidem quo puteus claudebatur .
When Jacob saw Rachel the daughter of Laban, his mother’s brother, and the sheep of Laban, his mother’s brother, Jacob went near, and rolled the stone from the well’s mouth, and watered the flock of Laban his mother’s brother.
雅各看見母舅拉班的女兒拉結和母舅拉班的羊群，就上前把石頭轉離井口，飲他母舅拉班的羊群。
29:11
Et adaquato grege , osculatus est eam : et elevata voce flevit ,
Jacob kissed Rachel, and lifted up his voice, and wept.
雅各與拉結親嘴，就放聲而哭。
29:12
et indicavit ei quod frater esset patris sui , et filius Rebeccae : at illa festinans nuntiavit patri suo .
Jacob told Rachel that he was her father’s relative, and that he was Rebekah’s son. She ran and told her father.
雅各告訴拉結，自己是她父親的外甥，是利百加的兒子，拉結就跑去告訴她父親。
29:13
Qui cum audisset venisse Jacob filium sororis suae , cucurrit obviam ei : complexusque eum , et in oscula ruens , duxit in domum suam . Auditis autem causis itineris ,
When Laban heard the news of Jacob, his sister’s son, he ran to meet Jacob, and embraced him, and kissed him, and brought him to his house. Jacob told Laban all these things.
拉班聽見外甥雅各的信息，就跑去迎接，抱着他，與他親嘴，領他到自己的家。雅各將一切的情由告訴拉班。
29:14
respondit : Os meum es , et caro mea . Et postquam impleti sunt dies mensis unius ,
Laban said to him, “Surely you are my bone and my flesh.” Jacob stayed with him for a month.
拉班對他說：「你實在是我的骨肉。」雅各就和他同住了一個月。
29:15
dixit ei : Num quia frater meus es , gratis servies mihi ? dic quid mercedis accipias .
Laban said to Jacob, “Because you are my relative, should you therefore serve me for nothing? Tell me, what will your wages be?”
拉班對雅各說：「你雖是我的骨肉 ，豈可白白地服事我？請告訴我，你要甚麼為工價？」
29:16
Habebat vero duas filias : nomen majoris Lia , minor vero appellabatur Rachel .
Laban had two daughters. The name of the elder was Leah, and the name of the younger was Rachel.
拉班有兩個女兒，大的名叫利亞，小的名叫拉結。
29:17
Sed Lia lippis erat oculis : Rachel decora facie , et venusto aspectu .
Leah’s eyes were weak, but Rachel was beautiful in form and attractive.
利亞的眼睛沒有神氣，拉結卻生得美貌俊秀。
29:18
Quam diligens Jacob , ait : Serviam tibi pro Rachel filia tua minore , septem annis .
Jacob loved Rachel. He said, “I will serve you seven years for Rachel, your younger daughter.”
雅各愛拉結，就說：「我願為你小女兒拉結服事你七年。」
29:19
Respondit Laban : Melius est ut tibi eam dem quam alteri viro : mane apud me .
Laban said, “It is better that I give her to you, than that I should give her to another man. Stay with me.”
拉班說：「我把她給你，勝似給別人，你與我同住吧！」
29:20
Servivit ergo Jacob pro Rachel septem annis : et videbantur illi pauci dies prae amoris magnitudine .
Jacob served seven years for Rachel. They seemed to him but a few days, for the love he had for her.
雅各就為拉結服事了七年；他因為深愛拉結，就看這七年如同幾天。
29:21
Dixitque ad Laban : Da mihi uxorem meam : quia jam tempus impletum est , ut ingrediar ad illam .
Jacob said to Laban, “Give me my wife, for my days are fulfilled, that I may go in to her.”
雅各對拉班說：「日期已經滿了，求你把我的妻子給我，我好與她同房。」
29:22
Qui vocatis multis amicorum turbis ad convivium , fecit nuptias .
Laban gathered together all the men of the place, and made a feast.
拉班就擺設筵席，請齊了那地方的眾人。
29:23
Et vespere Liam filiam suam introduxit ad eum ,
In the evening, he took Leah his daughter, and brought her to Jacob. He went in to her.
到晚上，拉班將女兒利亞送來給雅各，雅各就與她同房。
29:24
dans ancillam filiae , Zelpham nomine . Ad quam cum ex more Jacob fuisset ingressus , facto mane vidit Liam :
Laban gave Zilpah his servant to his daughter Leah for a servant.
拉班又將婢女悉帕給女兒利亞作使女。
29:25
et dixit ad socerum suum : Quid est quod facere voluisti ? nonne pro Rachel servivi tibi ? quare imposuisti mihi ?
In the morning, behold, it was Leah! He said to Laban, “What is this you have done to me? Didn’t I serve with you for Rachel? Why then have you deceived me?”
到了早晨，雅各一看是利亞，就對拉班說：「你向我做的是甚麼事呢？我服事你，不是為拉結嗎？你為甚麼欺哄我呢？」
29:26
Respondit Laban : Non est in loco nostro consuetudinis , ut minores ante tradamus ad nuptias .
Laban said, “It is not done so in our place, to give the younger before the firstborn.
拉班說：「大女兒還沒有給人，先把小女兒給人，在我們這地方沒有這規矩。
29:27
Imple hebdomadam dierum hujus copulae : et hanc quoque dabo tibi pro opere quo serviturus es mihi septem annis aliis .
Fulfill the week of this one, and we will give you the other also for the service which you will serve with me for seven more years.”
你為這個滿了七日，我就把那個也給你，你再為她服事我七年。」
29:28
Acquievit placito : et hebdomada transacta , Rachel duxit uxorem :
Jacob did so, and fulfilled her week. He gave him Rachel his daughter as wife.
雅各就如此行。滿了利亞的七日，拉班便將女兒拉結給雅各為妻。
29:29
cui pater servam Balam tradiderat .
Laban gave Bilhah, his servant, to his daughter Rachel to be her servant.
拉班又將婢女辟拉給女兒拉結作使女。
29:30
Tandemque potitus optatis nuptiis , amorem sequentis priori praetulit , serviens apud eum septem annis aliis .
He went in also to Rachel, and he loved also Rachel more than Leah, and served with him seven more years.
雅各也與拉結同房，並且愛拉結勝似愛利亞，於是又服事了拉班七年。
29:31
Videns autem Dominus quod despiceret Liam , aperuit vulvam ejus , sorore sterili permanente .
Yahweh saw that Leah was hated, and he opened her womb, but Rachel was barren.
耶和華見利亞失寵 ，就使她生育，拉結卻不生育。
29:32
Quae conceptum genuit filium , vocavitque nomen ejus Ruben , dicens : Vidit Dominus humilitatem meam : nunc amabit me vir meus .
Leah conceived, and bore a son, and she named him Reuben. For she said, “Because Yahweh has looked at my affliction; for now my husband will love me.”
利亞懷孕生子，就給他起名叫呂便 ，因而說：「耶和華看見我的苦情，如今我的丈夫必愛我。」
29:33
Rursumque concepit et peperit filium , et ait : Quoniam audivit me Dominus haberi contemptui , dedit etiam istum mihi ; vocavitque nomen ejus Simeon .
She conceived again, and bore a son, and said, “Because Yahweh has heard that I am hated, he has therefore given me this son also.” She named him Simeon.
她又懷孕生子，就說：「耶和華因為聽見我失寵，所以又賜給我這個兒子」，於是給他起名叫西緬 。
29:34
Concepitque tertio , et genuit alium filium : dixitque : Nunc quoque copulabitur mihi maritus meus : eo quod pepererim ei tres filios : et idcirco appellavit nomen ejus Levi .
She conceived again, and bore a son. She said, “Now this time my husband will be joined to me, because I have borne him three sons.” Therefore his name was called Levi.
她又懷孕生子，起名叫利未 ，說：「我給丈夫生了三個兒子，他必與我聯合。」
29:35
Quarto concepit , et peperit filium , et ait : Modo confitebor Domino , et ob hoc vocavit eum Judam : cessavitque parere .
She conceived again, and bore a son. She said, “This time I will praise Yahweh.” Therefore she named him Judah. Then she stopped bearing.
她又懷孕生子，說：「這回我要讚美耶和華」，因此給他起名叫猶大 。這才停了生育。
