9:1

በቀዳሚ፡ ዓመተ፡ ወልደ፡ ሱኤር፡ ዘእምዘርእ፡ ሜዶን፡ ዘነግሠ፡ መንግሥተ፡ ከሌዴዎን።

米底亞族亞哈隨魯的兒子大流士立為迦勒底國的王元年，

In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of the offspring of the Medes, who was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans—

9:2

አነ፡ ዳንኤል፡ አእመርኩ፡ እምውስተ፡ መጻሕፍት፡ ኍልቈ፡ ዓመት፡ ዘኮነ፡ ቃለ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ኀበ፡ እርሚያስ፡ ነቢይ፡ በዘ፡ ይሰለጥ፡ ሙስናሃ፡ ለኢየሩሳሌም፡ ሰብዓ፡ ዓመት።

就是他在位第一年，我－但以理從書上得知耶和華的話臨到先知耶利米，論耶路撒冷荒涼的年數，七十年為滿。

in the first year of his reign I, Daniel, understood by the books the number of the years about which Yahweh’s word came to Jeremiah the prophet for the accomplishing of the desolations of Jerusalem, even seventy years.

9:3

ወሜጥኩ፡ ገጽየ፡ ኀበ፡ እግዚአ፡ ብሔር፡ አምላኪየ፡ ከመ፡ እኅሥሥ፡ ጸሎተ፡ ወሣህለ፡ በጾም፡ ወበሠቅ፡ ወበሐመድ።

我便禁食，披麻蒙灰，定意向主上帝祈禱懇求。

I set my face to the Lord God, to seek by prayer and petitions, with fasting and sackcloth and ashes.

9:4

ወጸለይኩ፡ ኀበ፡ እግዚአሔር፡ አምላኪየ፡ ወገነይኩ፡ ወእቤ፡ እግዚኦ፡ አምላክ፡ ዐቢይ፡ ወስቡሕ፡ ዘተዐቅበ፡ ኪዳነከ፡ ወምሕረተከ፡ ለእለ፡ ያፈቅሩከ፡ ወለእለ፡ የዐቅቡ፡ ትእዛዘከ።

我向耶和華－我的上帝祈禱、認罪，說：「主啊，大而可畏的上帝，向愛主、守主誡命的人守約施慈愛。

I prayed to Yahweh my God, and made confession, and said, “Oh, Lord, the great and dreadful God, who keeps covenant and loving kindness with those who love him and keep his commandments,

9:5

አበስነ፡ ወዐመፅነ፡ ወጌገይነ፡ ወዐለውነ፡ ወተግሕሥነ፡ እምትእዛዝከ፡ ወእምፍትሕከ።

我們犯罪作孽，行惡叛逆，偏離你的誡命典章，

we have sinned, and have dealt perversely, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even turning aside from your precepts and from your ordinances.

9:6

ወኢሰማናሆሙ፡ ለነቢያት፡ አግብርቲከ፡ እለ፡ ነገርዎሙ፡ በስምከ፡ ለነገሥትነ፡ ወለመላእክቲነ፡ ወአበዊነ፡ ወለኵሉ፡ አሕዛበ፡ ምድር።

沒有聽從你僕人眾先知奉你名向我們君王、首領、列祖，和國中一切百姓所說的話。

We haven’t listened to your servants the prophets, who spoke in your name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.

9:7

ወለከ፡ እግዚኦ፡ ጽድቅ፡ ወለነ፡ ኀፍረት፡ ወለገጽነ፡ በዛቲ፡ ዕለት፡ ለሰብአ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ወለእለ፡ ይነብሩ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም፡ ወለኵሉ፡ እስራኤል፡ ለርሑቃን፡ ወለቅሩባን፡ በኵሉ፡ ምድር፡ ኀበ፡ ዘረውኮሙ፡ ህየ፡ በማዕሌቶሙ፡ ዘዐለዉከ።

主啊，你是公義的，我們是臉上蒙羞的；因我們猶大人和耶路撒冷的居民，並以色列眾人，或在近處，或在遠處，被你趕到各國的人，都得罪了你，正如今日一樣。

“Lord, righteousness belongs to you, but to us confusion of face, as it is today; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to all Israel, who are near and who are far off, through all the countries where you have driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against you.

9:8

እግዚኦ፡ ለነ፡ ኀፍረት፡ ለገጽነ፡ ወለነገሥትነ፡ ወለመላእክቲነ፡ ወለአበዊነ፡ እስመ፡ አበስነ፡ ለከ።

主啊，我們和我們的君王、首領、列祖因得罪了你，就都臉上蒙羞。

Lord, to us belongs confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against you.

9:9

እግዚኦ፡ አምላከ፡ ሣህል፡ ወምሕረት፡ እስመ፡ ክሕድነ።

主－我們的上帝是憐憫饒恕人的，我們卻違背了他，

To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgiveness, for we have rebelled against him.
