5:1

እስመ ኵሉ ሊቀ ካህናት እምሰብእ ይትነሣእ ወበእንተ ሰብእ ይሠየም ለኀበ እግዚአብሔር ከመ ያብእ ቍርባነ ወመሥዋዕተ ዘበእንተ ኀጢአት።

凡從人間挑選的大祭司，是奉派替人辦理屬上帝的事，為要獻上禮物和贖罪祭。

For every high priest, being taken from among men, is appointed for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins.

5:2

ወየሐምም ሕቀ ወይክል ሐሚመ ምስለ እለ ስሕቱ በእበዶሙ ወበእንተ ዘኮነ ለሊሁ ድኩመ።

他能體諒那愚蒙的和失迷的人，因為他自己也是被軟弱所困。

The high priest can deal gently with those who are ignorant and going astray, because he himself is also surrounded with weakness.

5:3

ወእንበይነዝ ርቱዕ ከመ በእንተ ሕዝብ ከማሁ ለርእሱኒ ያብእ ዘበእንተ ኀጢአት።

故此，他理當為百姓和自己獻祭贖罪。

Because of this, he must offer sacrifices for sins for the people, as well as for himself.

5:4

ወአልቦ ዘይነሥእ ለርእሱ ክብረ ዘእንበለ ዘጸውዖ እግዚአብሔር ዳእሙ በከመ አሮን።

這大祭司的尊榮，沒有人自取。惟要蒙上帝所召，像亞倫一樣。

Nobody takes this honor on himself, but he is called by God, just like Aaron was.

5:5

ከማሁ ክርስቶስኒ አኮ ርእሶ ዘንእደ ከመ ይኩን ሊቀ ካህናት ዳእሙ ለሊሁ ዘይቤሎ «ወልድየ አንተ ወአነ ዮም ወለድኩከ።»

如此，基督也不是自取榮耀作大祭司，乃是在乎向他說「你是我的兒子，我今日生你」的那一位；

So also Christ didn’t glorify himself to be made a high priest, but it was he who said to him, “You are my Son. Today I have become your father.”

5:6

ወካዕበ ይቤ «አንተ ካህኑ ለዓለም በከመ ሢመቱ ለመልከ ጼዴቅ።»

就如經上又有一處說：「你是照着麥基洗德的等次永遠為祭司。」

As he says also in another place, “You are a priest forever, after the order of Melchizedek.”

5:7

ወአመ ሀሎ በመዋዕለ ሥጋሁ ጸሎተ ወስኢለ አብአ በዐቢይ ገዐር ወአንብዕ ኀበ ዘይክል አድኅኖቶ እሞት ወሰምዖ ጽድቆ።

基督在肉體的時候，既大聲哀哭，流淚禱告，懇求那能救他免死的主，就因他的虔誠蒙了應允。

He, in the days of his flesh, having offered up prayers and petitions with strong crying and tears to him who was able to save him from death, and having been heard for his godly fear,

5:8

ወከዊኖ ወልደ አእመረ በእንተ ዘሐመ ተአዚዞ።

他雖然為兒子，還是因所受的苦難學了順從。

though he was a Son, yet learned obedience by the things which he suffered.

5:9

ወፈጺሞ ውእቱ ኮነ ዐሳዬ ሕይወት ለኵሎሙ እለ ይትኤዘዙ ሎቱ ወመድኅነ ዘለዓለም።

他既得以完全，就為凡順從他的人成了永遠得救的根源，

Having been made perfect, he became to all of those who obey him the author of eternal salvation,
