12:1

Ephraim pascit ventum, et sequitur aestum ; tota die mendacium et vastitatem multiplicat : et foedus cum Assyriis iniit, et oleum in Aegyptum ferebat.

以法蓮吃風，且追趕東風，時常增添虛謊和強暴，與亞述立約，把油送到埃及。

Ephraim feeds on wind, and chases the east wind. He continually multiplies lies and desolation. They make a covenant with Assyria, and oil is carried into Egypt.

12:2

Judicium ergo Domini cum Juda, et visitatio super Jacob : juxta vias ejus, et juxta adinventiones ejus reddet ei.

耶和華與猶大爭辯，必照雅各所行的懲罰他，按他所做的報應他。

Yahweh also has a controversy with Judah, and will punish Jacob according to his ways; according to his deeds he will repay him.

12:3

In utero supplantavit fratrem suum, et in fortitudine sua directus est cum angelo.

他在腹中抓住哥哥的腳跟，壯年的時候與上帝較力，

In the womb he took his brother by the heel, and in his manhood he contended with God.

12:4

Et invaluit ad angelum, et confortatus est ; flevit, et rogavit eum. In Bethel invenit eum, et ibi locutus est nobiscum.

與天使較力，並且得勝，哭泣懇求，在伯特利遇見耶和華。耶和華－萬軍之上帝在那裏曉諭我們以色列人；耶和華是他可記念的名。

Indeed, he struggled with the angel, and prevailed; he wept, and made supplication to him. He found him at Bethel, and there he spoke with us—

12:5

Et Dominus Deus exercituum, Dominus memoriale ejus.

與天使較力，並且得勝，哭泣懇求，在伯特利遇見耶和華。耶和華－萬軍之上帝在那裏曉諭我們以色列人；耶和華是他可記念的名。

even Yahweh, the God of Armies. Yahweh is his name of renown!

12:6

Et tu ad Deum tuum converteris ; misericordiam et judicium custodi, et spera in Deo tuo semper.

所以你當歸向你的上帝，謹守仁愛、公平，常常等候你的上帝。

Therefore turn to your God. Keep kindness and justice, and wait continually for your God.

12:7

Chanaan, in manu ejus statera dolosa, calumniam dilexit.

以法蓮是商人，手裏有詭詐的天平，愛行欺騙。

A merchant has dishonest scales in his hand. He loves to defraud.

12:8

Et dixit Ephraim : Verumtamen dives effectus sum ; inveni idolum mihi : omnes labores mei non invenient mihi iniquitatem quam peccavi.

以法蓮說：我果然成了富足，得了財寶；我所勞碌得來的，人必不見有甚麼不義，可算為罪的。

Ephraim said, “Surely I have become rich. I have found myself wealth. In all my wealth they won’t find in me any iniquity that is sin.”

12:9

Et ego Dominus Deus tuus ex terra Aegypti : adhuc sedere te faciam in tabernaculis, sicut in diebus festivitatis.

自從你出埃及地以來，我就是耶和華－你的上帝；我必使你再住帳棚，如在大會的日子一樣。

“But I am Yahweh your God from the land of Egypt. I will yet again make you dwell in tents, as in the days of the solemn feast.
