23:1
Evoluto autem multo tempore, postquam pacem dederat Dominus Israëli, subjectis in gyro nationibus universis, et Josue jam longaevo, et persenilis aetatis,
耶和華使以色列人安靜，不與四圍的一切仇敵爭戰，已經多日。約書亞年紀老邁，
After many days, when Yahweh had given rest to Israel from their enemies all around, and Joshua was old and well advanced in years,
23:2
vocavit Josue omnem Israëlem, majoresque natu, et principes ac duces, et magistros, dixitque ad eos : Ego senui, et progressioris aetatis sum :
就把以色列眾人的長老、族長、審判官，並官長都召了來，對他們說：「我年紀已經老邁。
Joshua called for all Israel, for their elders and for their heads, and for their judges and for their officers, and said to them, “I am old and well advanced in years.
23:3
vosque cernitis omnia, quae fecerit Dominus Deus vester cunctis per circuitum nationibus, quomodo pro vobis ipse pugnaverit :
耶和華－你們的上帝因你們的緣故向那些國所行的一切事，你們親眼看見了，因那為你們爭戰的是耶和華－你們的上帝。
You have seen all that Yahweh your God has done to all these nations because of you; for it is Yahweh your God who has fought for you.
23:4
et nunc quia vobis sorte divisit omnem terram, ab orientali parte Jordanis usque ad mare magnum, multaeque adhuc supersunt nationes :
我所剪除和所剩下的各國，從約旦河起到日落之處的大海，我已經拈鬮分給你們各支派為業。
Behold, I have allotted to you these nations that remain, to be an inheritance for your tribes, from the Jordan, with all the nations that I have cut off, even to the great sea toward the going down of the sun.
23:5
Dominus Deus vester disperdet eas et auferet a facie vestra, et possidebitis terram, sicut vobis pollicitus est.
耶和華－你們的上帝必將他們從你們面前趕出去，使他們離開你們，你們就必得他們的地為業，正如耶和華－你們的上帝所應許的。
Yahweh your God will thrust them out from before you, and drive them from out of your sight. You shall possess their land, as Yahweh your God spoke to you.
23:6
Tantum confortamini, et estote solliciti, ut custodiatis cuncta quae scripta sunt in volumine legis Moysi : et non declinetis ab eis neque ad dexteram neque ad sinistram :
所以，你們要大大壯膽，謹守遵行寫在摩西律法書上的一切話，不可偏離左右。
“Therefore be very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, that you not turn away from it to the right hand or to the left;
23:7
ne postquam intraveritis ad gentes quae inter vos futurae sunt, juretis in nomine deorum earum, et serviatis eis, et adoretis illos :
不可與你們中間所剩下的這些國民攙雜。他們的神，你們不可提他的名，不可指着他起誓，也不可事奉、叩拜；
that you not come among these nations, these that remain among you; neither make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause to swear by them, neither serve them, nor bow down yourselves to them;
23:8
sed adhaereatis Domino Deo vestro : quod fecistis usque in diem hanc.
只要照着你們到今日所行的，專靠耶和華－你們的上帝。
but hold fast to Yahweh your God, as you have done to this day.
23:9
Et tunc auferet Dominus Deus in conspectu vestro gentes magnas et robustissimas, et nullus vobis resistere poterit.
因為耶和華已經把又大又強的國民從你們面前趕出；直到今日，沒有一人在你們面前站立得住。
“For Yahweh has driven great and strong nations out from before you. But as for you, no man has stood before you to this day.
23:10
Unus e vobis persequetur hostium mille viros : quia Dominus Deus vester pro vobis ipse pugnabit, sicut pollicitus est.
你們一人必追趕千人，因耶和華－你們的上帝照他所應許的，為你們爭戰。
One man of you shall chase a thousand; for it is Yahweh your God who fights for you, as he spoke to you.
23:11
Hoc tantum diligentissime praecavete : ut diligatis Dominum Deum vestrum.
你們要分外謹慎，愛耶和華－你們的上帝。
Take good heed therefore to yourselves, that you love Yahweh your God.
23:12
Quod si volueritis gentium harum, quae inter vos habitant, erroribus adhaerere, et cum eis miscere connubia, atque amicitias copulare :
你們若稍微轉去，與你們中間所剩下的這些國民聯絡，彼此結親，互相往來，
“But if you do at all go back, and hold fast to the remnant of these nations, even these who remain among you, and make marriages with them, and go in to them, and they to you;
23:13
jam nunc scitote quod Dominus Deus vester non eas deleat ante faciem vestram, sed sint vobis in foveam ac laqueum, et offendiculum ex latere vestro, et sudes in oculis vestris, donec vos auferat atque disperdat de terra hac optima, quam tradidit vobis.
你們要確實知道，耶和華－你們的上帝必不再將他們從你們眼前趕出；他們卻要成為你們的網羅、機檻、肋上的鞭、眼中的刺，直到你們在耶和華－你們上帝所賜的這美地上滅亡。
know for a certainty that Yahweh your God will no longer drive these nations from out of your sight; but they shall be a snare and a trap to you, a scourge in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from off this good land which Yahweh your God has given you.
23:14
En ego hodie ingredior viam universae terrae, et toto animo cognoscetis quod de omnibus verbis, quae se Dominus praestiturum vobis esse pollicitus est, unum non praeterierit incassum.
「我現在要走世人必走的路。你們是一心一意地知道，耶和華－你們上帝所應許賜福與你們的話沒有一句落空，都應驗在你們身上了。
“Behold, today I am going the way of all the earth. You know in all your hearts and in all your souls that not one thing has failed of all the good things which Yahweh your God spoke concerning you. All have happened to you. Not one thing has failed of it.
23:15
Sicut ergo implevit opere quod promisit, et prospera cuncta venerunt : sic adducet super vos quidquid malorum comminatus est, donec vos auferat atque disperdat de terra hac optima, quam tradidit vobis,
耶和華－你們上帝所應許的一切福氣怎樣臨到你們身上，耶和華也必照樣使各樣禍患臨到你們身上，直到把你們從耶和華－你們上帝所賜的這美地上除滅。
It shall happen that as all the good things have come on you of which Yahweh your God spoke to you, so Yahweh will bring on you all the evil things, until he has destroyed you from off this good land which Yahweh your God has given you,
23:16
eo quod praeterieritis pactum Domini Dei vestri, quod pepigit vobiscum, et servieritis diis alienis, et adoraveritis eos : cito atque velociter consurget in vos furor Domini, et auferemini ab hac terra optima, quam tradidit vobis.
你們若違背耶和華－你們上帝吩咐你們所守的約，去事奉別神，叩拜他，耶和華的怒氣必向你們發作，使你們在他所賜的美地上速速滅亡。」
when you disobey the covenant of Yahweh your God, which he commanded you, and go and serve other gods, and bow down yourselves to them. Then Yahweh’s anger will be kindled against you, and you will perish quickly from off the good land which he has given to you.”
