9:1
חׇ֭כְמוֹת בָּנְתָ֣ה בֵיתָ֑הּ חָצְבָ֖ה עַמּוּדֶ֣יהָ שִׁבְעָֽה׃
ἡ σοφία ᾠκοδόμησεν ἑαυτῇ οἶκον καὶ ὑπήρεισεν στύλους ἑπτά
Sapientia aedificavit sibi domum : excidit columnas septem.
ጥበብ፡ ሐነፀት፡ ላቲ፡ ቤተ፡ ወአቀመት፡ ሰብዓተ፡ አዕማደ።
Wisdom has built her house. She has carved out her seven pillars.
9:2
טָבְחָ֣ה טִ֭בְחָהּ מָסְכָ֣ה יֵינָ֑הּ אַ֝֗ף עָרְכָ֥ה שֻׁלְחָנָֽהּ׃
ἔσφαξεν τὰ ἑαυτῆς θύματα ἐκέρασεν εἰς κρατῆρα τὸν ἑαυτῆς οἶνον καὶ ἡτοιμάσατο τὴν ἑαυτῆς τράπεζαν
Immolavit victimas suas, miscuit vinum, et proposuit mensam suam.
ዘብሐት፡ ዘዚአሃ፡ ጥብሐ፡ ወቶስሐት፡ ውስተ፡ ስያሓ፡ ዘዚአሃ፡ ወይነ።
She has prepared her meat. She has mixed her wine. She has also set her table.
9:3
שָׁלְחָ֣ה נַעֲרֹתֶ֣יהָ תִקְרָ֑א עַל־גַּ֝פֵּ֗י מְרֹ֣מֵי קָֽרֶת׃
ἀπέστειλεν τοὺς ἑαυτῆς δούλους συγκαλούσα μετὰ ὑψηλοῦ κηρύγματος ἐπὶ κρατῆρα λέγουσα
Misit ancillas suas ut vocarent ad arcem et ad moenia civitatis.
ወፈነወት፡ ዘዚአሃ፡ አግብርተ፡ እንዘ፡ ትጼውዕ፡ በነዋኅ፡ ስብከት።
She has sent out her maidens. She cries from the highest places of the city:
9:4
מִֽי־פֶ֭תִי יָסֻ֣ר הֵ֑נָּה חֲסַר־לֵ֝֗ב אָ֣מְרָה לּֽוֹ׃
ὅς ἐστιν ἄφρων ἐκκλινάτω πρός με καὶ τοῖς ἐνδεέσι φρενῶν εἶπεν
Si quis est parvulus, veniat ad me. Et insipientibus locuta est :
እንዘ፡ ትብል፡ ዘዓብድ፡ ውእቱ፡ ይግኀሥ፡ ኀቤየ፡ ወለእለሂ፡ የሐዖሙ፡ አእምሮ።
“Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!” As for him who is void of understanding, she says to him,
9:5
לְ֭כוּ לַחֲמ֣וּ בְֽלַחֲמִ֑י וּ֝שְׁת֗וּ בְּיַ֣יִן מָסָֽכְתִּי׃
ἔλθατε φάγετε τῶν ἐμῶν ἄρτων καὶ πίετε οἶνον ὃν ἐκέρασα ὑμῖν
Venite, comedite panem meum, et bibite vinum quod miscui vobis.
ትቤ፡ ንዑ፡ ብልዑ፡ ኅብስትየ፡ ወስትዩ፡ ወይንየ፡ ዘቀዳሕኩ፡ ለክሙ።
“Come, eat some of my bread, Drink some of the wine which I have mixed!
9:6
עִזְב֣וּ פְתָאיִ֣ם וִֽחְי֑וּ וְ֝אִשְׁר֗וּ בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ בִּינָֽה׃
ἀπολείπετε ἀφροσύνην καὶ ζήσεσθε καὶ ζητήσατε φρόνησιν ἵνα βιώσητε καὶ κατορθώσατε ἐν γνώσει σύνεσιν
Relinquite infantiam, et vivite, et ambulate per vias prudentiae.
ወኀድግዋ፡ ለዕበድ፡ ወኅሡ፡ አእምሮ፡ ከመ፡ ትሕየዉ።
Leave your simple ways, and live. Walk in the way of understanding.”
9:7
יֹ֤סֵ֨ר׀ לֵ֗ץ לֹקֵ֣חַֽ ל֣וֹ קָל֑וֹן וּמוֹכִ֖יחַ לְרָשָׁ֣ע מוּמֽוֹ׃
ὁ παιδεύων κακοὺς λήμψεται ἑαυτῷ ἀτιμίαν ἐλέγχων δὲ τὸν ἀσεβῆ μωμήσεται ἑαυτόν
Qui erudit derisorem, ipse injuriam sibi facit, et qui arguit impium, sibi maculam generat.
አርትዑ፡ አእምሮ፡ በጠይቆ፡ ወዘይሜህሮሙ፡ ለእኩያን፡ ይነሥእ፡ ሎቱ፡ ኃሣረ።
One who corrects a mocker invites insult. One who reproves a wicked man invites abuse.
9:8
אַל־תּ֣וֹכַח לֵ֭ץ פֶּן־יִשְׂנָאֶ֑ךָּ הוֹכַ֥ח לְ֝חָכָ֗ם וְיֶאֱהָבֶֽךָּ׃
μὴ ἔλεγχε κακούς ἵνα μὴ μισῶσίν σε ἔλεγχε σοφόν καὶ ἀγαπήσει σε
Noli arguere derisorem, ne oderit te : argue sapientem, et diliget te.
ወዘይጌሥፆ፡ ለረሲዕ፡ የሐይስ፡ ርእሶ።
Don’t reprove a scoffer, lest he hate you. Reprove a wise person, and he will love you.
9:9
תֵּ֣ן לְ֭חָכָם וְיֶחְכַּם־ע֑וֹד הוֹדַ֥ע לְ֝צַדִּ֗יק וְי֣וֹסֶף לֶֽקַח׃
δίδου σοφῷ ἀφορμήν καὶ σοφώτερος ἔσται γνώριζε δικαίῳ καὶ προσθήσει τοῦ δέχεσθαι
Da sapienti occasionem, et addetur ei sapientia ; doce justum, et festinabit accipere.
ኢትዝልፎሙ፡ ለዓብዳን፡ ከመ፡ ኢይጽልኡከ።
Instruct a wise person, and he will be still wiser. Teach a righteous person, and he will increase in learning.
9:10
תְּחִלַּ֣ת חׇ֭כְמָה יִרְאַ֣ת יְהֹוָ֑ה וְדַ֖עַת קְדֹשִׁ֣ים בִּינָֽה׃
ἀρχὴ σοφίας φόβος κυρίου καὶ βουλὴ ἁγίων σύνεσις τὸ γὰρ γνῶναι νόμον διανοίας ἐστὶν ἀγαθῆς
Principium sapientiae timor Domini, et scientia sanctorum prudentia.
ዝልፎ፡ ለጠቢብ፡ ወያፈቅረከ፡ ዓብድሰ፡ ይጸልአከ፡ ሀቦ፡ ለጠቢብ፡ ምክንያተ፡ ወያፈደፍድ፡ ጥበበ፡ አምሮ፡ ለጠቢብ፡ ወይዌስክ፡ ተወክፎ።
The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
9:11
כִּי־בִ֭י יִרְבּ֣וּ יָמֶ֑יךָ וְיוֹסִ֥יפוּ לְּ֝ךָ֗ שְׁנ֣וֹת חַיִּֽים׃
τούτῳ γὰρ τῷ τρόπῳ πολὺν ζήσεις χρόνον καὶ προστεθήσεταί σοι ἔτη ζωῆς σου
Per me enim multiplicabuntur dies tui, et addentur tibi anni vitae.
ቀዳሚሃ፡ ለጥበብ፡ ፈሪሀ፡ እግዚአብሄር፡ ወምክረ፡ ቅዱሳን፡ አእምሮ፡ ወአእምሮ፡ ሕግሰ፡ ለልብ፡ ኄር፡ ውእቱ።
For by me your days will be multiplied. The years of your life will be increased.
9:12
אִם־חָ֭כַמְתָּ חָכַ֣מְתָּ לָּ֑ךְ וְ֝לַ֗צְתָּ לְֽבַדְּךָ֥ תִשָּֽׂא׃
υἱέ ἐὰν σοφὸς γένῃ σεαυτῷ σοφὸς ἔσῃ καὶ τοῖς πλησίον ἐὰν δὲ κακὸς ἀποβῇς μόνος ἀναντλήσεις κακά ὃς ἐρείδεται ἐπὶ ψεύδεσιν οὗτος ποιμανεῖ ἀνέμους ὁ δ’ αὐτὸς διώξεται ὄρνεα πετόμενα ἀπέλιπεν γὰρ ὁδοὺς τοῦ ἑαυτοῦ ἀμπελῶνος τοὺς δὲ ἄξονας τοῦ ἰδίου γεωργίου πεπλάνηται διαπορεύεται δὲ δῑ ἀνύδρου ἐρήμου καὶ γῆν διατεταγμένην ἐν διψώδεσιν συνάγει δὲ χερσὶν ἀκαρπίαν
Si sapiens fueris, tibimetipsi eris ; si autem illusor, solus portabis malum.
በዝ፡ ሥርዓት፡ ብዙኀመዋዕለ፡ ተሐዩ፡ ወይትዌስካከ፡ ዓመታተ፡ ሕይወት።
If you are wise, you are wise for yourself. If you mock, you alone will bear it.
9:13
אֵ֣שֶׁת כְּ֭סִילוּת הֹמִיָּ֑ה פְּ֝תַיּ֗וּת וּבַל־יָ֥דְעָה מָּֽה׃
γυνὴ ἄφρων καὶ θρασεῖα ἐνδεὴς ψωμοῦ γίνεται ἣ οὐκ ἐπίσταται αἰσχύνην
Mulier stulta et clamosa, plenaque illecebris, et nihil omnino sciens,
ወልድየ፡ እመ፡ ጠቢበ፡ ኮንከ፡ ለርእስከ፡ ጠቢበ፡ ትከውን፡ ለቢጽከ፡ ወእመሰ፡ እኩየ፡ ኮንከ፡ ለባሕቲትከ፡ ትቀድሕ፡ እኪቶ።
The foolish woman is loud, undisciplined, and knows nothing.
9:14
וְֽ֭יָשְׁבָה לְפֶ֣תַח בֵּיתָ֑הּ עַל־כִּ֝סֵּ֗א מְרֹ֣מֵי קָֽרֶת׃
ἐκάθισεν ἐπὶ θύραις τοῦ ἑαυτῆς οἴκου ἐπὶ δίφρου ἐμφανῶς ἐν πλατείαις
sedit in foribus domus suae, super sellam in excelso urbis loco,
ዘያስተዳሉ፡ ሐሰተ፡ ይመስል፡ ከመ፡ ዘያስተዳሉ፡ ነፋሳተ፡ ወውእቱ፡ ከመ፡ ዘይዴግን፡ ዖፈ፡ ዘይሠርር።
She sits at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,
9:15
לִקְרֹ֥א לְעֹֽבְרֵי־דָ֑רֶךְ הַֽ֝מְיַשְּׁרִ֗ים אֹֽרְחוֹתָֽם׃
προσκαλουμένη τοὺς παριόντας καὶ κατευθύνοντας ἐν ταῖς ὁδοῖς αὐτῶν
ut vocaret transeuntes per viam, et pergentes itinere suo :
ወኀደገ፡ ፍናወ፡ ዓፀደ፡ ወይኑ፡ ወመንኰራኵረ፡ ወፍሬ፡ ዚአሁ፡ ረስዐ፡ ወየሐውር፡ ውስተ፡ በድው፡ ገዳመ፡ ወውስተ፡ ምድር፡ እንተ፡ ተሠርዓት፡ ለጽምእ፡ ወያስተጋብእ፡ በእዴሁ፡ ዘኢይፈሪ፡ ወኢይበቊል።
to call to those who pass by, who go straight on their ways,
9:16
מִֽי־פֶ֭תִי יָסֻ֣ר הֵ֑נָּה וַחֲסַר־לֵ֝֗ב וְאָ֣מְרָה לּֽוֹ׃
ὅς ἐστιν ὑμῶν ἀφρονέστατος ἐκκλινάτω πρός με ἐνδεέσι δὲ φρονήσεως παρακελεύομαι λέγουσα
Qui est parvulus declinet ad me. Et vecordi locuta est :
ብእሲት፡ ዓብድ፡ ወመግዝእት፡ ጽንስተ፡ ኅብስት፡ ትከውን፡ እንተ፡ ኢተአምር፡ ኀፊረ፡ ምንተኒ፡ ወነበረት፡ ውስተ፡ አንቀጸ፡ ቤታ።
“Whoever is simple, let him turn in here.” As for him who is void of understanding, she says to him,
9:17
מַֽיִם־גְּנוּבִ֥ים יִמְתָּ֑קוּ וְלֶ֖חֶם סְתָרִ֣ים יִנְעָֽם׃
ἄρτων κρυφίων ἡδέως ἅψασθε καὶ ὕδατος κλοπῆς γλυκεροῦ
Aquae furtivae dulciores sunt, et panis absconditus suavior.
ወውስተ፡ መንበራ፡ ገሃደ፡ ወውስተ፡ መርኅብ፡ ትጼውዕ፡ ኃላፍያነ፡ ፍኖት፡ እለ፡ ያረትዑ፡ ፍኖቶሙ።
“Stolen water is sweet. Food eaten in secret is pleasant.”
9:18
וְֽלֹא־יָ֭דַע כִּֽי־רְפָאִ֣ים שָׁ֑ם בְּעִמְקֵ֖י שְׁא֣וֹל קְרֻאֶֽיהָ׃ {פ}
ὁ δὲ οὐκ οἶδεν ὅτι γηγενεῖς παρ’ αὐτῇ ὄλλυνται καὶ ἐπὶ πέτευρον ᾅδου συναντᾷ ἀλλὰ ἀποπήδησον μὴ ἐγχρονίσῃς ἐν τῷ τόπῳ μηδὲ ἐπιστήσῃς τὸ σὸν ὄμμα πρὸς αὐτήν οὕτως γὰρ διαβήσῃ ὕδωρ ἀλλότριον καὶ ὑπερβήσῃ ποταμὸν ἀλλότριον ἀπὸ δὲ ὕδατος ἀλλοτρίου ἀπόσχου καὶ ἀπὸ πηγῆς ἀλλοτρίας μὴ πίῃς ἵνα πολὺν ζήσῃς χρόνον προστεθῇ δέ σοι ἔτη ζωῆς
Et ignoravit quod ibi sint gigantes, et in profundis inferni convivae ejus.
እለ፡ እምውስቴቶሙ፡ ዓብድ፡ ይቀርብ፡ ሐቤሃ፡ ወለዘሂ፡ የሐፅዖ፡ አእምሮ፡ ትኤዝዞ።
But he doesn’t know that the departed spirits are there, that her guests are in the depths of Sheol.
9:19———
ወትቤሎ፡ ኅብስተ፡ ኅቡአ፡ አስተሐዊዘከ፡ ግሥሥ፡ ወማየ፡ ስርቅ፡ መዓርዒረ፡ ስተይ።
But he doesn’t know that the departed spirits are there, that her guests are in the depths of Sheol.
9:20———
ወውእቱሰ፡ ኢየአምር፡ ከመ፡ እምኃያላን፡ በኀቤሃ፡ ይትኀጐሉ፡ ወመጽፈርተ፡ ሲኦል፡ ይትረከብ፡ ውስተ፡ ቤታ።
But he doesn’t know that the departed spirits are there, that her guests are in the depths of Sheol.
9:21———
ወባሕቱ፡ ቅንጽ፡ ወኢትጐንዲ፡ ውስተ፡ መካና፡ ወኢታውትር፡ ዓይነከ፡ ኀቤሃ፡ ከመ፡ ትትዓደው፡ ፈለገ፡ ነኪር።
But he doesn’t know that the departed spirits are there, that her guests are in the depths of Sheol.
9:22———
ወእማየ፡ ነኪር፡ ረኀቅ፡ ወእምዓዘቅተ፡ ነኪር፡ ኢትስተይ፡ ከመ፡ ብዙኀ፡ መዋዕለ፡ ትሕየው፡ ወይትወሰካከ፡ ዓመታተ፡ ሕይወት።
But he doesn’t know that the departed spirits are there, that her guests are in the depths of Sheol.
