καὶ ἀνέστη Ηλιας προφήτης ὡς πῦρ καὶ ὁ λόγος αὐτοῦ ὡς λαμπὰς ἐκαίετο
Et surrexit Elias propheta quasi ignis, et verbum ipsius quasi facula ardebat.

48:2
ὃς ἐπήγαγεν ἐπ’ αὐτοὺς λιμὸν καὶ τῷ ζήλῳ αὐτοῦ ὠλιγοποίησεν αὐτούς
Qui induxit in illos famem : et irritantes illum invidia sua pauci facti sunt : non enim poterant sustinere præcepta Domini.
ወአምጽአ፡ ረኃብ፡ ላዕሌሆሙ፡ ወበቅንአቱ፡ አውኀዶሙ።
Who brought a famine upon them, And by his zeal made them few in number.
48:3
ἐν λόγῳ κυρίου ἀνέσχεν οὐρανόν κατήγαγεν οὕτως τρὶς πῦρ
Verbo Domini continuit cælum, et dejecit de cælo ignem ter.
ወበቃለ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ከልኦ፡ ለሰማይ፡ ወአውረደ፡ እሳተ፡ እምሰማይ፡ ሥልሰ።
By the word of the Lord he shut up the heaven: Thrice did he thus bring down fire.
48:4
ὡς ἐδοξάσθης Ηλια ἐν θαυμασίοις σου καὶ τίς ὅμοιός σοι καυχᾶσθαι
Sic amplificatus est Elias in mirabilibus suis. Et quis potest similiter sic gloriari tibi ?
እፎ፡ ተሰባሕከ፡ ኤልያስ፡ በስብሐቲከ፡ ወመኑ፡ ተመክሐ፡ ከማከ።
How was you glorified, O Elijah, in your wondrous deeds! And who shall glory like to you?
48:5
ὁ ἐγείρας νεκρὸν ἐκ θανάτου καὶ ἐξ ᾅδου ἐν λόγῳ ὑψίστου
qui sustulisti mortuum ab inferis de sorte mortis, in verbo Domini Dei :
ዘአንሥአ፡ በድነ፡ እምነ፡ ምውታን፡ ወእምነ፡ መቃብርኒ፡ በቃለ፡ ልዑል።
Who did raise up a dead man from death, And from the place of the dead, by the word of the Most High:
48:6
ὁ καταγαγὼν βασιλεῖς εἰς ἀπώλειαν καὶ δεδοξασμένους ἀπὸ κλίνης αὐτῶν
qui dejecisti reges ad pernicem, et confregisti facile potentiam ipsorum, et gloriosos de lecto suo :
ወአውረዶሙ፡ ለነገሥት፡ ውስተ፡ ሞት፡ ወለክቡራን፡ እመነ፡ ዓራታቲሆሙ።
Who brought down kings to destruction, And honorable men from their bed:
48:7
ἀκούων ἐν Σινα ἐλεγμὸν καὶ ἐν Χωρηβ κρίματα ἐκδικήσεως
qui audis in Sina judicium, et in Horeb judicia defensionis :
ዘያ[ፀምእ፡]ኵነኔ፡ በሲና፡ ወበኮሬብ፡ ፍትሐ፡ ወበቀለ።
Who heard rebuke in Sinai, And judgements of vengeance in Horeb:
48:8
ὁ χρίων βασιλεῖς εἰς ἀνταπόδομα καὶ προφήτας διαδόχους μετ’ αὐτόν
qui ungis reges ad pœnitentiam, et prophetas facis successores post te :
ዘይቀብኦሙ፡ ለነገሥት፡ ወይትፈድዮሙ፡ ወተዐለዉ፡ ነቢያት፡ እምኔሁ።
Who anointed kings for retribution, And prophets to succeed after him:
48:9
ὁ ἀναλημφθεὶς ἐν λαίλαπι πυρὸς ἐν ἅρματι ἵππων πυρίνων
qui receptus es in turbine ignis, in curru equorum igneorum :
ዘዐርገ፡ በነደ፡ እሳት፡ በሰረገላት፡ ወበአፍራስ፡ ዘእሳት።
Who was taken up in a tempest of fire, In a chariot of fiery horses:
48:10
ὁ καταγραφεὶς ἐν ἐλεγμοῖς εἰς καιροὺς κοπάσαι ὀργὴν πρὸ θυμοῦ ἐπιστρέψαι καρδίαν πατρὸς πρὸς υἱὸν καὶ καταστῆσαι φυλὰς Ιακωβ
qui scriptus es in judiciis temporum, lenire iracundiam Domini, conciliare cor patris ad filium, et restituere tribus Jacob.
ዘአጽሐፈ፡ ኵነኔ፡ ለዕድሜሁ፡ ከመ፡ ያቊርር፡ መዐተ፡ እምቅድመ፡ መቅሠፍት፡ ወከመ፡ ያግብእ፡ ልበ፡ አብ፡ ኀበ፡ ውሉድ፡ ወከመ፡ ያቅሞሙ፡ ለአሕዛበ፡ ያዕቆብ።
Who was recorded for reproofs in their seasons, To pacify anger, before it brake forth into wrath; To turn the heart of the father to the son, And to restore the tribes of Jacob.
48:11
μακάριοι οἱ ἰδόντες σε καὶ οἱ ἐν ἀγαπήσει κεκοιμημένοι καὶ γὰρ ἡμεῖς ζωῇ ζησόμεθα
Beati sunt qui te viderunt, et in amicitia tua decorati sunt.
ብፁዓን፡ እለ፡ ያአምሩከ፡ ወእለ፡ ስርግዋን፡ በፍቅርከ፡ ወንሕነሂ፡ ሕይወተ፡ ነሐዩ፡(በእንቲአከ)።
Blessed are those who saw you, And those who have been beautified with love; For we also shall surely live.
48:12
Ηλιας ὃς ἐν λαίλαπι ἐσκεπάσθη καὶ Ελισαιε ἐνεπλήσθη πνεύματος αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐν ἡμέραις αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἐσαλεύθη ὑπὸ ἄρχοντος καὶ οὐ κατεδυνάστευσεν αὐτὸν οὐδείς
Nam nos vita vivimus tantum : post mortem autem non erit tale nomen nostrum.
ኤልያስ፡ ዘዐርገ፡ በነደ፡ እሳት፡ ወኤልሳዕኒ፡ ዘመልአ፡ ላዕሌሁ፡ እምነ፡ መንፈሱ፡(ቅዱስ)፡ወበመዋዕሊሁኒ፡ ኢያደንግጽዎ፡ መላእክት፡ ወአልቦ፡ ዘተዐገሎ፡ ወኢመኑሂ።
Elijah it was, who was wrapped in a tempest: And Elisha was filled with his spirit; And in all his days he was not moved by the fear of any ruler, And no one brought him into subjection.
48:13
πᾶς λόγος οὐχ ὑπερῆρεν αὐτόν καὶ ἐν κοιμήσει ἐπροφήτευσεν τὸ σῶμα αὐτοῦ
Elias quidem in turbine tectus est, et in Eliseo completus est spiritus ejus : in diebus suis non pertimuit principem, et potentia nemo vicit illum :
ወእምኵሉ፡ ነገር፡ አልቦ፡ ዘተስእኖ፡ ወመዊቶሂ፡ ተነበየ፡ በድኑ።
Nothing was too high for him; And when he was laid on sleep his body prophesied.
48:14
καὶ ἐν ζωῇ αὐτοῦ ἐποίησεν τέρατα καὶ ἐν τελευτῇ θαυμάσια τὰ ἔργα αὐτοῦ
nec superavit illum verbum aliquod, et mortuum prophetavit corpus ejus.
ወበሕይወቱሂ፡ ገብረ፡ ነኪረ፡ ወመሞቱሂ፡ ዕጹብ፡ ግብሩ።
As in his life he did wonders, So in death were his works marvelous.
48:15
ἐν πᾶσιν τούτοις οὐ μετενόησεν ὁ λαὸς καὶ οὐκ ἀπέστησαν ἀπὸ τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν αὐτῶν ἕως ἐπρονομεύθησαν ἀπὸ γῆς αὐτῶν καὶ διεσκορπίσθησαν ἐν πάσῃ τῇ γῇ
In vita sua fecit monstra, et in morte mirabilia operatus est.
ወምስለዝ፡ ኵሉ፡ ኢነስሑ፡ ሕዝብ፡ ወኢኀደጉ፡ ጌጋዮሙ፡ እስከ፡ ተፄወዉ፡ እምነ፡ ብሔሮሙ፡ ወተዘርዉ፡ ውስተ፡ ኵሉ፡ ምድር፡ ወተርፉ፡ ኅዳጣን፡ እምውስተ፡ ሕዝብ፡ ወመልአ[ክ]፡ እምነ፡ ቤተ፡ ዳዊት።
For all this the people repented not, And they departed not from their sins, Till they were carried away as a plunder from their land, And were scattered through all the earth; And the people was left very few in number, And a ruler was left in the house of David.
48:16
καὶ κατελείφθη ὁ λαὸς ὀλιγοστός καὶ ἄρχων ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ Δαυιδ τινὲς μὲν αὐτῶν ἐποίησαν τὸ ἀρεστόν τινὲς δὲ ἐπλήθυναν ἁμαρτίας
In omnibus istis non pœnituit populus, et non recesserunt a peccatis suis, usque dum ejecti sunt de terra sua, et dispersi sunt in omnem terram :
ወቦ፡ እምውስቴቶሙ፡ እለ፡ ገብሩ፡ ሠናየ፡ ወቦ፡ እለ፡ አብዝኅዋ፡ ለኃጢአት።
Some of them did that which was pleasing to God, And some multiplied sins.
48:17
Εζεκιας ὠχύρωσεν τὴν πόλιν αὐτοῦ καὶ εἰσήγαγεν εἰς μέσον αὐτῆς ὕδωρ ὤρυξεν σιδήρῳ ἀκρότομον καὶ ᾠκοδόμησεν κρήνας εἰς ὕδατα
et relicta est gens perpauca, et princeps in domo David.
ወሕዝቅያስኒ፡ አጽንዐ፡ ሀገሮ፡ ወአብአ፡ ማየ፡ ማእከላ፡ ወአውቀረ፡ ኰኵሐ፡ በኀጺን፡ ወሐነጸ፡ ምዕቃለ፡ ማይ።
Hezekiah fortified his city, And brought in water into the midst of them: He digged the sheer rock with iron, And built up wells for waters.
48:18
ἐν ἡμέραις αὐτοῦ ἀνέβη Σενναχηριμ καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Ραψακην καὶ ἀπῆρεν καὶ ἐπῆρεν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ Σιων καὶ ἐμεγαλαύχησεν ἐν ὑπερηφανίᾳ αὐτοῦ
Quidam ipsorum fecerunt quod placeret Deo : alii autem multa commiserunt peccata.
ወዐርገ፡ ስናክሬም፡ በመዋዕሊሁ፡ ወለአኮ፡ ለረፍስቂስ፡ ወሖረ፡ ኀቤሁ፡ ወአንስአ፡ እዴሁ፡ ላዕለ፡ ጽዮን፡ ወተዘኀረ፡ ወአዕበየ፡ አፉሁ።
In his days Sennacherib came up, And sent Rabshakeh, and departed; And he lifted up his hand against Sion, And boasted great things in his arrogancy.
48:19
τότε ἐσαλεύθησαν καρδίαι καὶ χεῖρες αὐτῶν καὶ ὠδίνησαν ὡς αἱ τίκτουσαι
Ezechias munivit civitatem suam, et induxit in medium ipsius aquam : et fodit ferro rupem, et ædificavit ad aquam puteum.
ወውእተ፡ አሚረ፡ ደንገጾሙ፡ ልቦሙ፡ ወእደዊሆሙ፡ ወሐሙ፡ ከመ፡ እንተ፡ ትውልድ።
Then were their hearts and their hands shaken, And they were in pain, as women in travail;
48:20
καὶ ἐπεκαλέσαντο τὸν κύριον τὸν ἐλεήμονα ἐκπετάσαντες τὰς χεῖρας αὐτῶν πρὸς αὐτόν καὶ ὁ ἅγιος ἐξ οὐρανοῦ ταχὺ ἐπήκουσεν αὐτῶν καὶ ἐλυτρώσατο αὐτοὺς ἐν χειρὶ Ησαιου
In diebus ipsius ascendit Sennacherib, et misit Rabsacen, et sustulit manum suam contra illos : et extulit manum suam in Sion, et superbus factus est potentia sua.
ወጸውዕዎ፡ ለአእግዚአብሔር፡ ለመሓሪ፡ ወአንሥኡ፡ እደዊሆሙ፡ ኀቤሁ፡ ወፍጡነ፡ ሰምዖሙ፡ ቅዱስ፡ እምሰማይ፡ ወቤዘዎሙ፡ በእደዊሁ፡ ለ[ኢሳይያስ]።
And they called upon the Lord which is merciful, Spreading forth their hands to him: And the Holy One heard them speedily out of Heaven, And delivered them by the hand of Isaiah.
48:21
ἐπάταξεν τὴν παρεμβολὴν τῶν Ἀσσυρίων καὶ ἐξέτριψεν αὐτοὺς ὁ ἄγγελος αὐτοῦ
Tunc mota sunt corda et manus ipsorum : et doluerunt quasi parturientes mulieres.
ወቀተሎሙ፡ ተዓይኒሆሙ፡ ለፋርስ፡ ወቀጥቀጦሙ፡ መልአኩ።
He struck the camp of the Assyrians, And his angel utterly destroyed them.
48:22
ἐποίησεν γὰρ Εζεκιας τὸ ἀρεστὸν κυρίῳ καὶ ἐνίσχυσεν ἐν ὁδοῖς Δαυιδ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ ἃς ἐνετείλατο Ησαιας ὁ προφήτης ὁ μέγας καὶ πιστὸς ἐν ὁράσει αὐτοῦ
Et invocaverunt Dominum misericordem, et expandentes manus suas extulerunt ad cælum : et Sanctus, Dominus Deus, audivit cito vocem ipsorum.
እስመ፡ ገብረ፡ ሕዝቅያስ፡ ዘይኤድሞ፡ ለእግዘአብሔር፡ ወአጽንዐ፡ [እኂዘ፡]ፍናዌ፡ ዳዊት፡ አቡሁ፡ በከመ፡ አዘዘ፡ ኢሳይያስ፡ ነቢይ፡ ወምእመን፡ ውእቱ፡ ወዐቢይ፡ ራእዩ።
For Hezekiah did that which was pleasing to the Lord, And was strong in the ways of David his father, Which Isaiah the prophet commanded, Who was great and faithful in his vision.
48:23
ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις αὐτοῦ ἀνεπόδισεν ὁ ἥλιος καὶ προσέθηκεν ζωὴν βασιλεῖ
Non est commemoratus peccatorum illorum, neque dedit illos inimicis suis : sed purgavit eos in manu Isaiæ sancti prophetæ.
ወተፀርዐት፡ ፀሓይ፡ በመዋዕሊሁ፡ ወወሰኮ፡ ዓመቲሁ፡ ለንጉሥ።
In his days the sun went backward; And he added life to the king.
48:24
πνεύματι μεγάλῳ εἶδεν τὰ ἔσχατα καὶ παρεκάλεσεν τοὺς πενθοῦντας ἐν Σιων
Dejecit castra Assyriorum, et contrivit illos angelus Domini :
ወበዐቢይ፡ መንፈስ፡ ርእየ፡ ደኃሪተ፡ ወአስተፍሥሖሙ፡ ለእለ፡ ይላሕዉ፡ በጽዮን።
He saw by an excellent spirit what should come to pass at the last; And he comforted those who mourned in Sion.
48:25
ἕως τοῦ αἰῶνος ὑπέδειξεν τὰ ἐσόμενα καὶ τὰ ἀπόκρυφα πρὶν ἢ παραγενέσθαι αὐτά
nam fecit Ezechias quod placuit Deo, et fortiter ivit in via David patris sui, quam mandavit illi Isaias, propheta magnus, et fidelis in conspectu Dei.
ወነገረ፡ ዘይከውን፡ ለዓለም፡ ወዘኒ፡ ኅቡእ፡ ዘእንበለ፡ ይኩን።
He showed the things that should be to the end of time, And the hidden things or ever they came.
