48:1
Et surrexit Elias propheta quasi ignis , et verbum ipsius quasi facula ardebat .
Also there arose Elijah the prophet as fire, And his word burned like a torch:
以利亞先知興起如火，他的話燃燒如火炬。
48:2
Qui induxit in illos famem : et irritantes illum invidia sua pauci facti sunt : non enim poterant sustinere præcepta Domini .
Who brought a famine upon them, And by his zeal made them few in number.
他使饑荒臨到他們，又以他的熱心使他們減少。
48:3
Verbo Domini continuit cælum , et dejecit de cælo ignem ter .
By the word of the Lord he shut up the heaven: Thrice did he thus bring down fire.
他憑著主的話關閉了天，也照樣三次使火降下。
48:4
Sic amplificatus est Elias in mirabilibus suis . Et quis potest similiter sic gloriari tibi ?
How was you glorified, O Elijah, in your wondrous deeds! And who shall glory like to you?
以利亞啊，你因你奇妙的作為何等得着榮耀！有誰能像你一樣誇耀呢？
48:5
qui sustulisti mortuum ab inferis de sorte mortis , in verbo Domini Dei :
Who did raise up a dead man from death, And from the place of the dead, by the word of the Most High:
你憑著至高者的話，使死人從死裡、從陰間復活。
48:6
qui dejecisti reges ad pernicem , et confregisti facile potentiam ipsorum , et gloriosos de lecto suo :
Who brought down kings to destruction, And honorable men from their bed:
你使列王歸於滅亡，使尊貴的人從牀上墜落。
48:7
qui audis in Sina judicium , et in Horeb judicia defensionis :
Who heard rebuke in Sinai, And judgements of vengeance in Horeb:
你在西奈聽見責備，在何烈聽見報應的審判。
48:8
qui ungis reges ad pœnitentiam , et prophetas facis successores post te :
Who anointed kings for retribution, And prophets to succeed after him:
你膏立列王施行報應，又膏立先知接續你。
48:9
qui receptus es in turbine ignis , in curru equorum igneorum :
Who was taken up in a tempest of fire, In a chariot of fiery horses:
你在火的旋風中被接去，坐在火馬的車輦上。
48:10
qui scriptus es in judiciis temporum , lenire iracundiam Domini , conciliare cor patris ad filium , et restituere tribus Jacob .
Who was recorded for reproofs in their seasons, To pacify anger, before it brake forth into wrath; To turn the heart of the father to the son, And to restore the tribes of Jacob.
經上記載，你必在所定的時候顯現，要在烈怒發作之前平息忿怒，使父親的心轉向兒子，又重立雅各的眾支派。
48:11
Beati sunt qui te viderunt , et in amicitia tua decorati sunt .
Blessed are those who saw you, And those who have been beautified with love; For we also shall surely live.
凡見過你的人有福了，那些在愛中安睡的人也有福了；因為我們也必確實得着生命。
48:12
Nam nos vita vivimus tantum : post mortem autem non erit tale nomen nostrum .
Elijah it was, who was wrapped in a tempest: And Elisha was filled with his spirit; And in all his days he was not moved by the fear of any ruler, And no one brought him into subjection.
以利亞被旋風遮蓋；以利沙被他的靈充滿，在他一切的日子，不被任何官長動搖，也無人能轄制他。
48:13
Elias quidem in turbine tectus est , et in Eliseo completus est spiritus ejus : in diebus suis non pertimuit principem , et potentia nemo vicit illum :
Nothing was too high for him; And when he was laid on sleep his body prophesied.
沒有甚麼能勝過他；他長眠之後，他的身體仍然說預言。
48:14
nec superavit illum verbum aliquod , et mortuum prophetavit corpus ejus .
As in his life he did wonders, So in death were his works marvelous.
他活著時行了奇事，死的時候作為也是奇妙的。
48:15
In vita sua fecit monstra , et in morte mirabilia operatus est .
For all this the people repented not, And they departed not from their sins, Till they were carried away as a plunder from their land, And were scattered through all the earth; And the people was left very few in number, And a ruler was left in the house of David.
雖有這一切，百姓仍不悔改，也不離棄他們的罪，直到他們從本地被擄掠，分散在全地。
48:16
In omnibus istis non pœnituit populus , et non recesserunt a peccatis suis , usque dum ejecti sunt de terra sua , et dispersi sunt in omnem terram :
Some of them did that which was pleasing to God, And some multiplied sins.
於是百姓所剩無幾，只有一位首領留在大衛家中。他們中間有些人行主所喜悅的事，有些人卻增添罪惡。
48:17
et relicta est gens perpauca , et princeps in domo David .
Hezekiah fortified his city, And brought in water into the midst of them: He digged the sheer rock with iron, And built up wells for waters.
希西家堅固他的城，又引水進入城中；他用鐵器鑿開堅硬的磐石，築造蓄水的池子。
48:18
Quidam ipsorum fecerunt quod placeret Deo : alii autem multa commiserunt peccata .
In his days Sennacherib came up, And sent Rabshakeh, and departed; And he lifted up his hand against Sion, And boasted great things in his arrogancy.
在他的日子，西拿基立上來，差遣拉伯沙基，又向錫安舉手，狂傲地誇大其詞。
48:19
Ezechias munivit civitatem suam , et induxit in medium ipsius aquam : et fodit ferro rupem , et ædificavit ad aquam puteum .
Then were their hearts and their hands shaken, And they were in pain, as women in travail;
那時他們的心和手都顫抖了，疼痛如同臨產的婦人；
48:20
In diebus ipsius ascendit Sennacherib , et misit Rabsacen , et sustulit manum suam contra illos : et extulit manum suam in Sion , et superbus factus est potentia sua .
And they called upon the Lord which is merciful, Spreading forth their hands to him: And the Holy One heard them speedily out of Heaven, And delivered them by the hand of Isaiah.
他們便向那有憐憫的主求告，向祂舉手張開；那聖者就從天上速速垂聽他們，藉著以賽亞的手拯救他們。
48:21
Tunc mota sunt corda et manus ipsorum : et doluerunt quasi parturientes mulieres .
He struck the camp of the Assyrians, And his angel utterly destroyed them.
主擊打亞述的營，祂的使者把他們全然滅絕。
48:22
Et invocaverunt Dominum misericordem , et expandentes manus suas extulerunt ad cælum : et Sanctus , Dominus Deus , audivit cito vocem ipsorum .
For Hezekiah did that which was pleasing to the Lord, And was strong in the ways of David his father, Which Isaiah the prophet commanded, Who was great and faithful in his vision.
因為希西家行主所喜悅的事，又堅守他祖大衛的道路，就是先知以賽亞所吩咐的；以賽亞是偉大的，在他的異象上是可信的。
48:23
Non est commemoratus peccatorum illorum , neque dedit illos inimicis suis : sed purgavit eos in manu Isaiæ sancti prophetæ .
In his days the sun went backward; And he added life to the king.
在他的日子，太陽倒退，主又增添王的壽數。
48:24
Dejecit castra Assyriorum , et contrivit illos angelus Domini :
He saw by an excellent spirit what should come to pass at the last; And he comforted those who mourned in Sion.
以賽亞以大能的靈看見末後的事，又安慰那些在錫安悲哀的人。
48:25
nam fecit Ezechias quod placuit Deo , et fortiter ivit in via David patris sui , quam mandavit illi Isaias , propheta magnus , et fidelis in conspectu Dei .
He showed the things that should be to the end of time, And the hidden things or ever they came.
他在事情發生之先，指明瞭直到末了將要發生的事和隱密的事。
