1-3:3
Having received this preaching and this faith, as we said before, the Church, although scattered throughout the whole world, diligently guards it, as though dwelling in a single house; and she believes these things alike, as though having one soul and the same heart, and proclaims and teaches and hands them down in harmony, as though possessing one mouth. For although the languages throughout the world are dissimilar, yet the force of the tradition is one and the same. And neither do the churches established in the Germanies believe otherwise, or hand down otherwise, nor those in the Spains, nor among the Celts, nor in the East, nor in Egypt, nor in Libya, nor those established in the middle parts of the world; but just as the sun, the creature of God, is one and the same throughout the whole world, so too the preaching of the truth shines everywhere and enlightens all men who are willing to come to the knowledge of the truth. And neither will the one who is very powerful in speech among those who preside over the churches say anything other than these things—for no one is above his teacher—nor will the one who is weak in speech diminish the tradition. For since the faith is one and the same, neither has the one able to say much concerning it added to it, nor has the one who can say little diminished it.
