📖 This chapter exists in 3 other originals — side by side (Hebrew Old Testament, Vulgate, Ge'ez Bible)
ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.
ℹ️ The Chinese and English alongside are this site's own translation, made directly from the original text on this page (not the CUV or the WEB, which follow the Masoretic Text and a different textual tradition).

And the number of the sons of Israel was as the sand of the sea, which shall not be measured nor numbered. And it shall be, in the place where it was said to them, You are not my people, there they shall be called sons of the living God.
And the sons of Judah and the sons of Israel shall be gathered together, and they shall appoint for themselves one ruler, and they shall come up out of the land, for great is the day of Iezrael.
猶大的子孫和以色列的子孫必一同聚集,為自己立一個首領,並且從那地上來;因為耶斯列的日子大。
2:3
εἴπατετῷἀδελφῷὑμῶνΛαός‐μουκαὶτῇἀδελφῇὑμῶνἨλεημένη
Say to your brother, My-people, and to your sister, Pitied.
Plead with your mother, plead, for she is not my wife and I am not her husband; and I will remove her whoredom from before my face, and her adultery from between her breasts,
so that I may strip her naked and restore her as on the day of her birth; and I will make her like a wilderness and set her like a waterless land, and I will kill her with thirst.
For their mother played the whore; she who bore them acted shamefully. For she said: I will follow after my lovers, who give me my bread and my water and my garments and my linens and my oil and everything that is due me.
And she will pursue her lovers and not overtake them, and she will seek them and not find them. And she will say: I will go and return to my former husband, for it was better for me then than now.
And she did not know that it was I who gave her the grain and the wine and the oil, and I multiplied silver for her; but she made things of silver and of gold for Baal.
Therefore I will turn back and take away my grain in its season and my wine in its time, and I will take away my garments and my linens, so that they no longer cover her shame.
And I will destroy her vine and her fig trees, of which she said, These are my wages that my lovers gave me; and I will make them into a testimony, and the wild animals of the field and the birds of heaven and the creeping things of the earth shall devour them.
And I will punish her for the days of the Baalim, in which she sacrificed to them and put on her earrings and her necklaces and went after her lovers, but forgot me, says the Lord.
And I will give her her possessions from there, and the valley of Achor, to open up her understanding; and she shall be humbled there, as in the days of her infancy and as in the days of her coming up out of the land of Egypt.
And in that day I will make for them a covenant with the wild animals of the field and with the birds of heaven and with the creeping things of the earth; and bow and sword and war I will break from the land, and I will settle you in hope.
And I will sow her for myself on the earth, and I will pity Not-pitied, and I will say to Not-my-people, You are my people; and he will say, You are the Lord my God.
