In the latter days, the lands of Egypt shall rejoice over Him who is to come upon them, the Good and Gentle One, who shall take vengeance because of what Sebelyanos has wronged and led astray, he who sets himself against the way of his Creator.
For he said: I will enter into the heart of the seas and ascend to the heights; I will look into the depths and seize the children of Adam like the chicks of a bird. Who is higher than I?
And there is none who can take me out of my own hand; for I shall prevail over those who dwell upon the earth, unless they do the will of God. I will grow strong against them, that I may turn them aside from the upright way of the Lord.
Therefore those who loved Him and kept His commandment hate me; but those who erred from their Lord come to me, and they love me and keep my covenant and do my command as I have commanded them. For I make their hearts evil and turn their reasoning aside, so that they do not return to God their Creator.
And when I show them the riches of the world, I lead their hearts astray from the upright way; and when I show them fair women and maidens, by these also I turn them aside from the upright way.
And when I show them sparkling jewels of India, and stones of gold and silver, by these also I turn them aside from the upright way, so that they return to my works.
And when I show them fine garments, silks and linens and embroidered robes and ornaments, by these too I turn them aside from the upright way and bring them into my own reasonings; and when I show them goods and beasts multiplied like sand, by this also I turn them into my own works.
And when I show them signs, I dwell in the hearts of their companions, and I cast into their hearts the speech of their own signs; and showing them a sign in their words, I lead them astray.
And to those whom I have made my dwelling, I show them signs—whether in the running of the stars, or the passing of clouds, or the flickering of fire, or the cries of birds and beasts. By all these I make a sign in their hearts, for they are my dwelling.
And I bring to pass for them the sign of their word, that those who consult them may be led astray and pay them wages; and they tell their fellows, saying: There are none so learned as such a man and such a woman, for whom things come to pass just as they spoke; they know prophecy, they discern good and evil, and everything happens to them according to their word.
And when they say this, I rejoice, that those who perish may increase and those who err because of me may abound, so that the children of Adam may perish with me; for because of their father Adam, God cast me down from my throne, when I said: I will not bow down to Adam, who is lower than I.
And I will lead into destruction all his children who walk according to my command; for I have an oath from Him who made me, that those whom I have led astray may be cast with me into the fire.
And I made my plea to my Lord, when He kindled His wrath against me and commanded that they bind me and cast me into Gehenna and into the depth of Sheol. And when my Creator had thus commanded, I made supplication before Him, saying: My Lord, since You are angry with me, and have admonished me with Your scourge and chastised me with Your wrath, grant me that I may speak one more thing before You.
And my Lord answered me and said: Speak, and I will hear you. Then I took courage and made my plea to Him, saying: Since I have been driven from my throne, let those whom I have led astray be with me in the place where I shall suffer torment.
But those who refused me and did not err because of me, who did not keep my command but did Your command, who fulfilled Your will and kept Your word—since they refused me even as I had mercy upon them, and did not err because of me though I led them astray—let them belong to Your kingdom and receive the crown that was mine, which You gave me when You loved me.
And to all the powers that were driven out with me and were called demons, give their own crown, and set them at Your right hand upon my throne, which became a wilderness because of me and my hosts.
And let them praise You as You desire, and be like me and like my hosts; let them praise You as You will, since my authority is broken and their authority is exalted, because You hated me and loved those formed from earth and ashes.
And my Lord answered me and said: As you have desired, while they do not love My ordinance, let them be yours according to your word; for while they saw and heard, you led them astray.
And their destruction does not grieve Me, when they come to you, forsaking My command and the word of My scriptures; and if you have led them astray, let them be judged with you in Gehenna.
And you shall have no escape forever and ever; and those who erred because of you shall be in the judgment of condemnation, but you shall be tormented in the fire forever and ever.
