1:1

ዝነገረ፡ መጽሐፍ፡ ዘጸሐፈ፡ ባሮክ፡ ወልደ፡ ኔርዩ፡ ወልደ፡ ማሴው፡ ወልደ፡ ሴዴቅዩ፡ ወልደ፡ አሳድዩ፡ ወልደ፡ ኬልቅዩ፡ ባቢሎን።

以下是巴錄在巴比倫所寫的書中之言。巴錄是乃黎雅的兒子，乃黎雅是瑪阿色雅的兒子，瑪阿色雅是漆德克雅的兒子，漆德克雅是哈撒狄雅的兒子，哈撒狄雅是希耳克雅的兒子。

These are the words of the book, which Baruch the son of Nerias, the son of Maaseas, the son of Sedekias, the son of Asadias, the son of Helkias, wrote in Babylon,

1:2

በመዓት፡ ኃምስ፡ በሰቡዑ፡ ለሠርቅ፡ አመ፡ ነሥእዋ፡ ፋርስ፡ ለኢየሩሳሌም፡ ወአውዐይዋ፡ በእሳት።

那是在第五年，月的第七日，正當加色丁人攻取耶路撒冷、放火焚燒那城的時候。

in the fifth year, and in the seventh day of the month, what time as the Chaldeans took Jerusalem, and burned it with fire.

1:3

ወአንበበ፡ ባሮክ፡ ዘመጽሐፈ፡ በእዝነ፡ ኢኮንያስ፡ ወልደ፡ ኢዮአቄም፡ ንጉሠ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ወበእዝነ፡ ኵሉ፡ ሕዝበ፡ ዘመጽአ፡ ኀበ፡ መጽሐፍ።

巴錄當著猶大王約雅金的兒子耶苛尼雅，以及一切前來聽這書的百姓耳中，宣讀了這書上的話；

And Baruch did read the words of this book in the hearing of Jechonias the son of Joakim king of Judah, and in the hearing of all the people that came to hear the book,

1:4

ወበእዝነ፡ ኃያላን፡ ወደቂቀ፡ ነገሥት፡ ወበእዝነ፡ ሊቃናት፡ ወበእዝነ፡ ሕዝብ፡ እምዓቢይ፡ እስከ፡ ንኡስ፡ ኵሎሙ፡ እለ፡ የኀድሩ፡ ባቢሎን፡ መልዕልተ፡ ፈለገ፡ ሶዲ።

又當著那些有權勢的人、君王的眾子、長老，並一切百姓，從最小的到最大的耳中，就是當著所有住在巴比倫、住在穌得河邊的眾人耳中宣讀。

and in the hearing of the mighty men, and of the kings’ sons, and in the hearing of the elders, and in the hearing of all the people, from the least to the greatest, even of all those who lived at Babylon by the river Sud.

1:5

ወበከዩ፡ ወጾሙ፡ ወጸለዩ፡ በቅድመ፡ እግዚአብሔር።

他們便哭泣、禁食，在主面前祈禱。

And they wept, and fasted, and prayed before the Lord;

1:6

ወአስተጋብኡ፡ ብሩረ፡ ብእሲ፡ ብእሲ፡ በከመ፡ ክሂሎቱ።

他們又按各人力量所能及的捐了銀錢，

they made also a collection of money according to every man’s power:

1:7

ወፈነውዎ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም፡ ኀበ፡ ኢዮአቄም፡ ወልደ፡ ሕልቅያ፡ ወልደ፡ ሱሉም፡ ካህን፡ ወኀበ፡ ካህናት፡ ወኀበ፡ ኵሉ፡ ሕዝበ፡ ዘሀለዉ፡ ምስሌሁ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም።

打發人送到耶路撒冷，交給希耳克雅的兒子、撒隆的孫子約雅金大司祭，又交給眾司祭，並交給一切與他同在耶路撒冷的百姓。

and they sent it to Jerusalem to Joakim the high priest, the son of Helkias, the son of Salom, and to the priests, and to all the people which were found with him at Jerusalem,

1:8

አመ፡ ነሥኡ፡ ንዋየ፡ ቤተ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ዘተሀይደ፡ እምኀቤተ፡ መቅደስ፡ ከመ፡ ይሚጥዎ፡ ኀበ፡ ምድረ፡ ይሁዳ፡ በዐሥሩ፡ ለወርኀ፡ ሲባን፡ ለንዋየ፡ ዘብሩር፡ ዘገብረ፡ ሴዴቅያስ፡ ወልደ፡ ኢዮስያስ፡ ንጉሠ፡ ይሁዳ።

那時他正取回上主殿宇的器皿，就是從聖殿運出、要送回猶大地的，乃是漆瓦月初十日。這些銀器是猶大王約史雅的兒子漆德克雅所造的，

at the same time when he took the vessels of the house of the Lord, that had been carried out of the temple, to return them into the land of Judah, the tenth day of the month Sivan, namely, silver vessels, which Sedekias the son of Josias king of Judah had made,

1:9

እምድኅረ፡ ነሥኦሙ፡ ናቡከደነፆር፡ ንጉሠ፡ ባቢሎን፡ ለኢኮንያስ፡ ወለመኳንንት፡ ወለፂውዋን፡ ወለከሀልያን፡ ወለሕዝበ፡ ምድር፡ እምኢየሩሳሌም፡ ወወሰዶሙ፡ ባቢሎን።

那是在巴比倫王拿步高把耶苛尼雅、眾首領、被囚者、有權勢的人，以及那地的百姓從耶路撒冷擄到巴比倫之後。

after that Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon had carried away Jechonias, and the princes, and the captives, and the mighty men, and the people of the land, from Jerusalem, and brought them to Babylon.
