13:1

ለኵሉ ነፍሰ መኰንን ተኰነኑ እስመ ኢይሠየም መኰንን ዘእንበለ እምኀበ እግዚአብሔር ወእምከመሰ እምኀበ እግዚአብሔር ውእቱ ኵሉ ብዉሕ ሎቱ።

在上有權柄的，人人當順服他，因為沒有權柄不是出於上帝的。凡掌權的都是上帝所命的。

Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God.

13:2

ወዘሰ አበየ ተኰንኖ ለመኰንን ትእዛዘ እግዚአብሔር አበየ ወእለሰ አበዩ ተኰንኖ ኵነኔ ያመጽኡ ለርእሶሙ።

所以，抗拒掌權的就是抗拒上帝的命；抗拒的必自取刑罰。

Therefore he who resists the authority withstands the ordinance of God; and those who withstand will receive to themselves judgment.

13:3

ወመኳንንትሰ ኢኮኑ ግሩማነ ለዘይገብር ሠናየ ዘእንበለ ለዘእኩይ ምግባሩ ወእመሰ ትፈቅድ ኢትፍርሆሙ ለመኳንንት ግበር ሠናየ ወዓዲ እሙንቱ የአኵቱከ።

作官的原不是叫行善的懼怕，乃是叫作惡的懼怕。你願意不懼怕掌權的嗎？你只要行善，就可得他的稱讚；

For rulers are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil. Do you desire to have no fear of the authority? Do that which is good, and you will have praise from the authority,

13:4

እስመ ላእካነ እግዚአብሔር እሙንቱ ከመ አንተ ታሠኒ ምግባሪከ ወእመሰ ፈቀድከ ኢትፍራህ ግበር ሠናየ ወአኮ ለከንቱ ዘአኰነንዎሙ መጥባሕተ እስመ ላእካኑ እሙንቱ ከመ ይትበቀልዎ ለገባሬ እኪት።

因為他是上帝的用人，是與你有益的。你若作惡，卻當懼怕，因為他不是空空地佩劍；他是上帝的用人，是伸冤的，刑罰那作惡的。

for he is a servant of God to you for good. But if you do that which is evil, be afraid, for he doesn’t bear the sword in vain; for he is a servant of God, an avenger for wrath to him who does evil.

13:5

ወይእዜኒ በግብር ተኰነኑ ወአኮ ዳእሙ ለዘእኩይ ምግባሩ ዓዲ ለዘሠናይኒ ምግባሩ።

所以，你們必須順服，不但是因為刑罰，也是因為良心。

Therefore you need to be in subjection, not only because of the wrath, but also for conscience’ sake.

13:6

ወበእንተዝ ታገብኡ ሎሙ ጸባሕተ እስመ ላእካነ እግዚአብሔር እሙንቱ ወለዝ ግብር ተሠይሙ።

你們納糧，也為這個緣故；因他們是上帝的差役，常常特管這事。

For this reason you also pay taxes, for they are servants of God’s service, continually doing this very thing.

13:7

ወለኵሉ በዘይረትዕ ግበሩ ወለዘሂ ጸባሕተ ጸብሑ ወለዘሂ ብነተ በንቱ ወለዘሂ ዐሥራተ ዐሥሩ ወለዘሂ ፍርሀተ ፍርሁ ወለዘሂ ክብረ አክብሩ።

凡人所當得的，就給他。當得糧的，給他納糧；當得稅的，給他上稅；當懼怕的，懼怕他；當恭敬的，恭敬他。

Therefore give everyone what you owe: if you owe taxes, pay taxes; if customs, then customs; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.

13:8

ወአልቦ ዘይበቍዐክሙ ዘእንበለ አፍቅሮ ቢጽክሙ ወዘሰ አፍቀረ ቢጾ ኵሎ ሕገ ፈጸመ ገቢረ።

凡事都不可虧欠人，惟有彼此相愛要常以為虧欠，因為愛人的就完全了律法。

Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.

13:9

እስመ ከመዝ ይቤ በኦሪት «ኢትሑር ብእሲተ ብእሲ ወኢትቅትል ነፍሰ ወኢትስርቅ ወኢትኩን ስምዐ በሐሰት ወኢትፍቱ» ወዓዲ ባዕድኒ ቦቱ ትእዛዝ ወርእሱ ለኵሉ «አፍቅር ቢጸከ ከመ ነፍስከ።»

像那不可姦淫，不可殺人，不可偷盜，不可貪婪，或有別的誡命，都包在愛人如己這一句話之內了。

For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other commandments there are, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
