Αὖθις δ ὁ Ἰώση(??) πλεῖστα ὅσα περὶ τῆς τὸ πᾶν Ἰουδαίων ἔθνος κατ λαβούσης διελθὼν συμφορᾶς δηλοῖ κατὰ λέξιν , ἑ πλείστοις ἄλλοις μυρίους ὅσους τῶν παρὰ Ἰουδαῖοι τετιμημένων μάστιξιν αἰκισθέντας έν αὐτῇ τῇ Ἱερουσαλὴμ ἀνασταυρωθῆναι ὑπὸ Φλώρου. τοῦτον δὲ εἷναι τῆς Ἰουδαίας ἐπίτροπον , ὁπηνίκα τὴν ἀρχὴν ἀναρριπισθῆναι τοῦ πολέμου, ἔτους δωδεκάτου τῆς Νέρωνος ἡγεμονίας, συνέβη.
約瑟夫述說了關於臨到全猶太民族的災禍的許多事之後，又逐字說明：除無數其他人之外，猶太人中極多受尊崇的人，在耶路撒冷城裡，被弗羅魯先用鞭子拷打，繼而被釘十字架。這人在戰爭最初燃起之時，正是猶太的巡撫；那是尼祿執政的第十二年所發生的事。
Again Josephus, after recounting very many things concerning the calamity that overtook the whole Jewish nation, makes plain, word for word, that, besides countless others, very many of those held in honour among the Jews were, after being tortured with scourges, crucified in Jerusalem itself by Florus. This man was procurator of Judaea when it came to pass that the war was first kindled, in the twelfth year of Nero's rule.

εἶτα δὲ καὶ καθ ὅλην τὴν Συρίαν ἐπὶ τῇ τῶν Ἰουδαίων ἀποστάσει δεινήν φησι κατειληφέναι ταραχὴν , πανταχόσε τῶν ἀπὸ τοῦ ἔθνους πρὸς τῶν κατὰ πόλιν ἐνοίκων ὡσὰν πολεμίων ἀνηλεῶς πορθουμένων , ὥστε ὁρᾶν τὰς πόλεις μεστὰς ἀτάφων σωμάτων, καὶ νεκροὺς ἅμα νηπίοις γέροντας ἐρριμμένους , γύναιά τε μηδὲ τῆς ἐπ αἰδοῖ σκέπης μετειληφότα, καὶ πᾶσαν μὲν τὴν ἐπάρχιον μεστὴν ἀδιηγήτων συμφορῶν , μείζονα δὲ τῶν ἑκάστοτε τολμωμένων τὴν ἐπὶ τοῖς ἀπειλουμένοις ἀνάτασιν. ταῦτα κατὰ λέξιν ὁ Ἰώσηπος. καὶ τὰ μὲν κατὰ Ἰουδαίους ἐν τούτοις ἦν.
他接著說，因猶太人的叛亂，整個敘利亞都陷入可怕的騷亂；各處猶太民族的人都被城中的居民當作仇敵一般，毫不留情地殺戮，以致人可看見各城滿是無人埋葬的屍體，死者之中，老人與嬰孩一同被拋棄，婦女連遮蔽羞體的衣物也沒有；全省都充滿難以言述的慘禍，而那威脅將至之事所帶來的恐慌，比每次所行的暴行更甚。約瑟夫逐字記述了這些事。關於猶太人的情形便是這樣。
He then says that throughout all Syria, on account of the revolt of the Jews, a dreadful tumult took hold; everywhere those of the Jewish nation were mercilessly destroyed by the inhabitants of the cities as though they were enemies, so that one might see the cities full of unburied bodies, and the dead—old men flung out together with infants—and women without even the covering due to modesty; and the whole province was full of indescribable calamities, while the strain of what was threatened was greater than the outrages committed on each occasion. These things Josephus relates word for word. And such was the state of affairs concerning the Jews.
