11:1
Et rex Ægypti congregavit exercitum, sicut arena quæ est circa oram maris, et naves multas : et quærebat obtinere regnum Alexandri dolo, et addere illud regno suo.
埃及王聚集了大軍,多如海邊的沙,又有許多船隻,想要用詭詐奪取亞歷山大的國,併入自己的國。
And the king of Egypt gathered together great forces, as the sand which is by the sea shore, and many ships, and sought to make himself master of Alexander’s kingdom by deceit, and to add it to his own kingdom.
11:2
Et exiit in Syriam verbis pacificis, et aperiebant ei civitates, et occurrebant ei : quia mandaverat Alexander rex exire ei obviam, eo quod socer suus esset.
他用和平的話進入敘利亞,各城的人都給他開門,出來迎接他,因為亞歷山大王曾下令要他們迎接他,因他是他的岳父。
And he went forth into Syria with words of peace, and they of the cities opened to him, and met him; For king Alexander’s commandment was that they should meet him, because he was his father-in-law.
11:3
Cum autem introiret civitatem Ptolemæus, ponebat custodias militum in singulis civitatibus.
托勒密進入托勒買各城時,在每座城裡安置軍隊把守。
Now as he entered into the cities of Ptolemais, he set his forces for a garrison in each city.
11:4
Et ut appropiavit Azoto, ostenderunt ei templum Dagon succensum igni, et Azotum, et cetera ejus demolita, et corpora projecta, et eorum, qui cæsi erant in bello, tumulos quos fecerant secus viam.
他臨近亞瑣都時,他們指給他看那被火焚燒的大袞廟,以及亞瑣都和它的郊邑被拆毀,屍體拋棄各處,並那些在戰爭中被燒死的人,因為他們把屍首堆在他經過的路上。
But when he came near to Azotus, they showed him the temple of Dagon burned with fire, and Azotus and the suburbs thereof pulled down, and the bodies cast abroad, and those who had been burned, whom he burned in the war, for they had made heaps of them in his way.
11:5
Et narraverunt regi quia hæc fecit Jonathas, ut invidiam facerent ei : et tacuit rex.
他們把約拿單所行的事告訴王,要使王怪責他,王卻緘默不言。
And they told the king what things Jonathan had done, that they might cast blame on him: and the king held his peace.
11:6
Et occurrit Jonathas regi in Joppen cum gloria, et invicem se salutaverunt, et dormierunt illic.
約拿單隆重地在約帕迎見王,他們彼此問安,在那裡住宿。
And Jonathan met the king with pomp at Joppa, and they saluted one another, and they slept there.
11:7
Et abiit Jonathas cum rege usque ad fluvium qui vocatur Eleutherus : et reversus est in Jerusalem.
約拿單陪王到了那稱為伊流提路的河,然後回耶路撒冷去。
And Jonathan went with the king as far as the river that is called Eleutherus, and returned to Jerusalem.
11:8
Rex autem Ptolemæus obtinuit dominium civitatum usque Seleuciam maritimam, et cogitabat in Alexandrum consilia mala.
托勒密王佔據了沿海的城邑,直到海邊的西流基,並向亞歷山大圖謀惡計。
But king Ptolemy became master of the cities upon the sea coast, to Selucia which is by the sea, and he devised evil plans concerning Alexander.
11:9
Et misit legatos ad Demetrium, dicens : Veni, componamus inter nos pactum, et dabo tibi filiam meam, quam habet Alexander, et regnabis in regno patris tui :
他差使者去見底米丟王,說:「來吧,讓我們彼此立約。我要把我女兒,就是亞歷山大現今的妻子,給你,你就可作你父親之國的王。
And he sent ambassadors to king Demetrius, saying, Come, let us make a covenant with one another, and I will give you my daughter whom Alexander has, and you shall reign over your father’s kingdom;
11:10
pœnitet enim me quod dederim illi filiam meam : quæsivit enim me occidere.
我已後悔把女兒給了他,因為他想要殺我。」
for I have repented that I gave my daughter to him, for he sought to kill me.
11:11
Et vituperavit eum, propterea quod concupierat regnum ejus.
他這樣怪責亞歷山大,是因為亞歷山大覬覦他的國。
And he cast blame on him, because he coveted his kingdom.
11:12
Et abstulit filiam suam, et dedit eam Demetrio, et alienavit se ab Alexandro, et manifestæ sunt inimicitiæ ejus.
他把女兒從亞歷山大那裡奪回,給了底米丟,與亞歷山大疏遠了,他們的仇恨就公開顯露出來。
And taking his daughter from him, he gave her to Demetrius, and was estranged from Alexander, and their enmity was openly seen.
11:13
Et intravit Ptolemæus Antiochiam, et imposuit duo diademata capiti suo, Ægypti et Asiæ.
托勒密進入安提阿,戴上亞細亞的冠冕;他把兩個冠冕戴在頭上,就是埃及和亞細亞的冠冕。
And Ptolemy entered into Antioch, and put on himself the diadem of Asia; and he put two diadems upon his head, the diadem of Egypt and that of Asia.
11:14
Alexander autem rex erat in Cilicia illis temporibus : quia rebellabant qui erant in locis illis.
那時亞歷山大王正在基利家,因為那地方的人背叛了。
But king Alexander was in Cilicia at that season, because they of those parts were in revolt.
11:15
Et audivit Alexander, et venit ad eum in bellum : et produxit Ptolemæus rex exercitum, et occurrit ei in manu valida, et fugavit eum.
亞歷山大聽見了,就來與他交戰。托勒密率軍迎戰,用強盛的軍力擊敗了他。
And Alexander heard of it, and he came against him in war: and Ptolemy led forth his army, and met him with a strong force, and put him to flight.
11:16
Et fugit Alexander in Arabiam, ut ibi protegeretur : rex autem Ptolemæus exaltatus est.
亞歷山大逃往阿拉伯,要在那裡藏身,托勒密王卻高升了。
And Alexander fled into Arabia, that he might be sheltered there; but king Ptolemy was exalted.
11:17
Et abstulit Zabdiel Arabs caput Alexandri, et misit Ptolemæo.
阿拉伯人撒底業砍下亞歷山大的頭,差送給托勒密。
And Zabdiel the Arabian took off Alexander’s head, and sent it to Ptolemy.
11:18
Et rex Ptolemæus mortuus est in die tertia : et qui erant in munitionibus, perierunt ab his qui erant intra castra.
過了三天,托勒密王也死了。他在堡壘中的人都被堡壘中的人殺了。
And king Ptolemy died the third day after, and those who were in his strongholds were slain by those who were in the strongholds.
11:19
Et regnavit Demetrius anno centesimo sexagesimo septimo.
底米丟就在一百六十七年作王。
And Demetrius reigned in the hundred and threescore and seventh year.
11:20
In diebus illis congregavit Jonathas eos qui erant in Judæa, ut expugnarent arcem quæ est in Jerusalem : et fecerunt contra eam machinas multas.
在那些日子,約拿單聚集猶大人,要攻取耶路撒冷的堡壘,又造了許多攻城器具攻打它。
In those days Jonathan gathered together them of Judea, to take the citadel that was at Jerusalem: and he made many engines of war against it.
11:21
Et abierunt quidam qui oderant gentem suam viri iniqui ad regem Demetrium, et renuntiaverunt ei quod Jonathas obsideret arcem.
有些恨惡本族的不法之徒前往見王,報告說約拿單正圍攻堡壘。
And certain that hated their own nation, men that transgressed the law, went to the king, and reported to him that Jonathan was besieging the citadel.
11:22
Et ut audivit, iratus est : et statim venit ad Ptolemaidam, et scripsit Jonathæ ne obsideret arcem, sed occurreret sibi ad colloquium festinato.
王聽見了就發怒,立刻起身來到托勒買,寫信給約拿單,叫他不可圍攻堡壘,要他趕快到托勒買與他相見會談。
And he heard, and was angered; but when he heard it, he set forth immediately, and came to Ptolemais, and wrote to Jonathan, that he should not besiege it, and that he should meet him and speak with him at Ptolemais with all speed.
11:23
Ut audivit autem Jonathas, jussit obsidere : et elegit de senioribus Israël, et de sacerdotibus, et dedit se periculo.
約拿單聽見了,卻仍吩咐繼續圍攻,又從以色列的長老和祭司中揀選一些人,置身於危險之中,
But when Jonathan heard this, he commanded to besiege it still: and he chose certain of the elders of Israel and of the priests, and put himself in peril,
11:24
Et accepit aurum, et argentum, et vestem, et alia xenia multa, et abiit ad regem Ptolemaidam : et invenit gratiam in conspectu ejus,
帶著銀子、金子、衣服和許多別的禮物,前往托勒買見王,在他面前蒙了恩。
and taking silver and gold and raiment and various presents besides, went to Ptolemais to the king. And he found favor in his sight.
11:25
et interpellabant adversus eum quidam iniqui ex gente sua.
本族中有些不法之徒控告他,
And certain lawless men of those who were of the nation made complaints against him,
11:26
Et fecit ei rex sicut fecerant ei qui ante eum fuerant : et exaltavit eum in conspectu omnium amicorum suorum,
王卻像他的前人一樣待他,在他一切朋友面前抬舉他,
and the king did to him even as his predecessors had done to him, and exalted him in the sight of all his Friends,
11:27
et statuit ei principatum sacerdotii, et quæcumque alia habuit prius pretiosa, et fecit eum principem amicorum.
確認他大祭司的職位,並他從前所有的一切尊榮,立他在至尊朋友中為首。
and confirmed to him the high priesthood, and all the other honors that he had before, and gave him preeminence among his Chief Friends.
11:28
Et postulavit Jonathas a rege ut immunem faceret Judæam, et tres toparchias, et Samariam et confines ejus : et promisit ei talenta trecenta.
約拿單求王使猶大、三個區和撒瑪利亞免納貢稅,並應許給他三百他連得。
And Jonathan requested of the king, that he would make Judea free from tribute, and the three provinces, and the country of Samaria; and promised him three hundred talents.
11:29
Et consensit rex : et scripsit Jonathæ epistolas de his omnibus, hunc modum continentes :
王應允了,就把關於這一切的書信寫給約拿單,內容如下:
And the king consented, and wrote letters to Jonathan concerning all these things after this manner:
11:30
Rex Demetrius fratri Jonathæ salutem, et genti Judæorum.

King Demetrius to his brother Jonathan, and to the nation of the Jews, greeting:
11:31
Exemplum epistolæ, quam scripsimus Lastheni parenti nostro de vobis, misimus ad vos ut sciretis :
我們已寫給我們的親屬拉斯提尼有關你們的信,現今也抄一份給你們,叫你們知曉。
The copy of the letter which we wrote to Lasthenes our kinsman concerning you, we have written also to you, that you⌃ may see it.
11:32
Rex Demetrius Lastheni parenti salutem.
底米丟王問候他的父親拉斯提尼。
King Demetrius to Lasthenes his father, greeting:
11:33
Genti Judæorum amicis nostris, et conservantibus quæ justa sunt apud nos, decrevimus benefacere propter benignitatem ipsorum, quam erga nos habent.
猶太民族是我們的朋友,向我們守正當的本分,因他們向我們存善意,我們定意善待他們。
We have determined to do good to the nation of the Jews, who are our friends, and observe what is just toward us, because of their good will toward us.
11:34
Statuimus ergo illis omnes fines Judææ, et tres civitates, Lydan, et Ramathan, quæ additæ sunt Judææ ex Samaria, et omnes confines earum, sequestrari omnibus sacrificantibus in Jerosolymis pro his quæ ab eis prius accipiebat rex per singulos annos, et pro fructibus terræ et pomorum.
我們確認猶大的境界歸他們所有,並把從撒瑪利亞地加入猶大的三個區,就是亞費利瑪、呂大和拉瑪丁,以及一切屬於它們的,都歸給凡在耶路撒冷獻祭的人,以代替王從前每年從地的出產和樹上果子向他們所收的王稅。
We have confirmed therefore to them the borders of Judea, and also the three governments of Aphaerema and Lydda and Ramathaim (these were added to Judea from the country of Samaria), and all things appertaining to them, for all such as do sacrifice in Jerusalem, instead of the king’s dues which the king received of them yearly aforetime from the produce of the earth and the fruits of trees.
11:35
Et alia quæ ad nos pertinebant decimarum et tributorum ex hoc tempore, remittimus eis : et areas salinarum, et coronas, quæ nobis deferebantur,
至於其他歸我們的,就是從今以後屬我們的十分之一、稅收、鹽池和歸我們的冠冕稅,這一切我們都賜給他們。
And as for the other things that pertain to us from henceforth, of the tenths and the tolls that pertain to us, and the saltpits, and the crowns that pertain to us, all these we will bestow upon them.
11:36
omnia ipsis concedimus : et nihil horum irritum erit, ex hoc, et in omne tempus.
從今以後直到永遠,這些事中沒有一樣可被廢除。
And not one of these things shall be annulled from this time forth and forever.
11:37
Nunc ergo curate facere horum exemplum, et detur Jonathæ, et ponatur in monte sancto, in loco celebri.
如今你們要留意抄錄這書,交給約拿單,安放在聖山一個顯眼的地方。」
Now therefore be careful to make a copy of these things, and let it be given to Jonathan, and let it be set up on the holy mount in a meet and conspicuous place.
11:38
Et videns Demetrius rex quod siluit terra in conspectu suo, et nihil ei resistit, dimisit totum exercitum suum, unumquemque in locum suum, excepto peregrino exercitu, quem contraxit ab insulis gentium : et inimici erant ei omnes exercitus patrum ejus.
底米丟王見那地在他面前平靜,沒有人抵擋他,就遣散他一切的軍隊,各回本地,只留下他從外邦海島招募的僱傭兵。於是他列祖時的一切軍隊都恨惡他。
And king Demetrius saw that the land was quiet before him, and that no resistance was made to him, and he sent away all his forces, each man to his own place, except the foreign forces, which he had raised from the isles of the Gentiles: and all the forces of his fathers hated him.
11:39
Tryphon autem erat quidam partium Alexandri prius : et vidit quoniam omnis exercitus murmurabat contra Demetrium, et ivit ad Emalchuel Arabem, qui nutriebat Antiochum filium Alexandri :
從前歸亞歷山大一黨的特來風,見一切軍隊都埋怨底米丟,就前往見阿拉伯人伊馬古,他正撫養亞歷山大年幼的兒子安提阿古,
Now Tryphon was of those who aforetime had been of Alexander’s part, and he saw that all the forces murmured against Demetrius, and he went to Imalcue the Arabian, who was nourishing up Antiochus the young child of Alexander,
11:40
et assidebat ei, ut traderet eum ipsi, ut regnaret loco patris sui : et enuntiavit ei quanta fecit Demetrius, et inimicitias exercituum ejus adversus illum. Et mansit ibi diebus multis.
求他把那孩子交給他,使他接續他父親作王。他把底米丟所行的一切,和他的軍隊怎樣恨惡他都告訴了伊馬古,就在那裡住了許多日子。
and pressed sore upon him that he should deliver him to him, that he might reign in his father’s stead: and he told him all that Demetrius had done, and the hatred wherewith his forces hated him; and he abode there many days.
11:41
Et misit Jonathas ad Demetrium regem, ut ejiceret eos qui in arce erant in Jerusalem, et qui in præsidiis erant : quia impugnabant Israël.
約拿單差人去見底米丟王,要他把堡壘裡的人和各堡壘裡的人從耶路撒冷趕出去,因為他們常常攻擊以色列。
And Jonathan sent to king Demetrius, that he should cast out of Jerusalem them of the citadel, and those who were in the strongholds; for they fought against Israel continually.
11:42
Et misit Demetrius ad Jonathan, dicens : Non hæc tantum faciam tibi, et genti tuæ, sed gloria illustrabo te, et gentem tuam, cum fuerit opportunum.
底米丟差人去見約拿單,說:「我不單要為你和你的民族做這事,若得著好機會,我還要大大尊崇你和你的民族。
And Demetrius sent to Jonathan, saying, I will not only do this for you and your nation, but I will greatly honor you and your nation, if I find fair occasion.
11:43
Nunc ergo recte feceris, si miseris in auxilium mihi viros : quia discessit omnis exercitus meus.
如今你若差人來幫我作戰,你就行得好了,因為我的軍隊都背叛了。」
Now therefore you shall do well, if you send me men who shall fight for me; for all my forces are revolted.
11:44
Et misit ei Jonathas tria millia virorum fortium Antiochiam : et venerunt ad regem, et delectatus est rex in adventu eorum.
約拿單就差三千名勇士到安提阿去見王,王因他們前來就歡喜。
And Jonathan sent him three thousand valiant men to Antioch: and they came to the king, and the king was glad at their coming.
11:45
Et convenerunt qui erant de civitate, centum viginti millia virorum, et volebant interficere regem.
城裡的人約有十二萬,聚集在城中央,想要殺王。
And they of the city gathered themselves together into the midst of the city, to the number of a hundred and twenty thousand men, and they were minded to kill the king.
11:46
Et fugit rex in aulam : et occupaverunt qui erant de civitate, itinera civitatis, et cœperunt pugnare.
王逃進宮院,城裡的人佔據了城中的通道,開始攻打。
And the king fled into the court of the palace, and they of the city seized the passages of the city, and began to fight.
11:47
Et vocavit rex Judæos in auxilium, et convenerunt omnes simul ad eum, et dispersi sunt omnes per civitatem :
王召猶太人來幫助他,眾人就一齊聚集到他那裡,散開在城中,那日殺了約十萬人。
And the king called the Jews to help him, and they were gathered together to him all at once, and they dispersed themselves in the city, and killed that day to the number of a hundred thousand.
11:48
et occiderunt in illa die centum millia hominum, et succenderunt civitatem, et ceperunt spolia multa in die illa, et liberaverunt regem.
他們放火燒城,那日奪取了許多擄物,並救了王。
And they set the city on fire, and got many spoils that day, and saved the king.
11:49
Et viderunt qui erant de civitate, quod obtinuissent Judæi civitatem sicut volebant : et infirmati sunt mente sua, et clamaverunt ad regem cum precibus, dicentes :
城裡的人見猶太人隨意制伏了全城,就心中喪膽,向王哀求說:
And they of the city saw that the Jews had made themselves masters of the city as they would, and they waxed faint in their hearts, and they cried out to the king with supplication, saying,
11:50
Da nobis dextras, et cessent Judæi oppugnare nos, et civitatem.
「求你向我們伸出右手講和,叫猶太人停止攻打我們和這城。」
Give us your right hand, and let the Jews cease from fighting against us and the city.
11:51
Et projecerunt arma sua, et fecerunt pacem, et glorificati sunt Judæi in conspectu regis, et in conspectu omnium qui erant in regno ejus, et nominati sunt in regno : et regressi sunt in Jerusalem habentes spolia multa.
他們就丟下兵器講和了。猶太人在王面前和王國中眾人面前得了尊榮,便帶著許多擄物回到耶路撒冷。
And they cast away their arms, and made peace; and the Jews were glorified in the sight of the king, and before all that were in his kingdom; and they returned to Jerusalem, having many spoils.
11:52
Et sedit Demetrius rex in sede regni sui : et siluit terra in conspectu ejus.
底米丟王坐上他的王位,那地在他面前平靜。
And king Demetrius sat on the throne of his kingdom, and the land was quiet before him.
11:53
Et mentitus est omnia quæcumque dixit, et abalienavit se a Jonatha, et non retribuit ei secundum beneficia quæ sibi tribuerat, et vexabat eum valde.
他卻在所說的一切上都食言,與約拿單疏遠,沒有照約拿單向他所施的恩惠報答他,反倒極其困苦他。
And he lied in all that he spoke, and estranged himself from Jonathan, and recompensed him not according to the benefits with which he had recompensed him, and afflicted him exceedingly.
11:54
Post hæc autem reversus est Tryphon, et Antiochus cum eo puer adolescens, et regnavit, et imposuit sibi diadema.
這些事以後,特來風帶著年幼的孩子安提阿古回來,使他作王,戴上冠冕。
Now after this Tryphon returned, and with him the young child Antiochus; and he reigned, and put on a diadem.
11:55
Et congregati sunt ad eum omnes exercitus, quos disperserat Demetrius, et pugnaverunt contra eum : et fugit, et terga vertit.
凡被底米丟羞辱遣散的軍隊都聚集到他那裡,與底米丟交戰,底米丟就逃跑潰敗了。
And there were gathered to him all the forces which Demetrius had sent away with disgrace, and they fought against him, and he fled and was put to the rout.
11:56
Et accepit Tryphon bestias, et obtinuit Antiochiam.
特來風奪得戰象,制伏了安提阿。
And Tryphon took the elephants, and became master of Antioch.
11:57
Et scripsit Antiochus adolescens Jonathæ, dicens : Constituo tibi sacerdotium, et constituo te super quatuor civitates, ut sis de amicis regis.
年幼的安提阿古寫信給約拿單,說:「我確認你大祭司的職位,立你管轄那四個區,並作王的朋友之一。」
And the young Antiochus wrote to Jonathan, saying, I confirm to you the high priesthood, and appoint you over the four governments, and to be one of the king’s Friends.
11:58
Et misit illi vasa aurea in ministerium, et dedit ei potestatem bibendi in auro, et esse in purpura, et habere fibulam auream :
他差送金器和食具給約拿單,準他用金器飲酒、穿紫袍、佩戴金扣環。
And he sent to him golden vessels and furniture for the table, and gave him leave to drink in golden vessels, and to be clothed in purple, and to have a golden buckle.
11:59
et Simonem fratrem ejus constituit ducem a terminis Tyri usque ad fines Ægypti.
他立約拿單的弟兄西門作元帥,管轄從推羅階梯直到埃及邊界之地。
And his brother Simon he made captain from the Ladder of Tyre to the borders of Egypt.
11:60
Et exiit Jonathas, et perambulabat trans flumen civitates : et congregatus est ad eum omnis exercitus Syriæ in auxilium, et venit Ascalonem, et occurrerunt ei honorifice de civitate.
約拿單出去,巡行大河那邊和各城。敘利亞的全軍都聚集到他那裡作他的盟友。他來到亞實基倫,城裡的人隆重地迎接他。
And Jonathan went forth, and took his journey beyond the river and through the cities; and all the forces of Syria gathered themselves to him for to be his confederates. And he came to Ascalon, and they of the city met him honorably.
11:61
Et abiit inde Gazam : et concluserunt se qui erant Gazæ : et obsedit eam, et succendit quæ erant in circuitu civitatis, et prædatus est ea.
他從那裡往迦薩去,迦薩人卻把他關在外面。他就圍困那城,放火焚燒它的郊邑,搶掠它們。
And he departed thence to Gaza, and they of Gaza shut him out; and he laid siege to it, and burned the suburbs thereof with fire, and plundered them.
11:62
Et rogaverunt Gazenses Jonathan, et dedit illis dexteram : et accepit filios eorum obsides, et misit illos in Jerusalem : et perambulavit regionem usque Damascum.
迦薩人就向約拿單求和,他向他們伸出右手,取了他們首領的兒子作人質,差他們到耶路撒冷去,然後巡行那地直到大馬士革。
And they of Gaza made request to Jonathan, and he gave them his right hand, and took the sons of their princes for hostages, and sent them away to Jerusalem; and he passed through the country as far as Damascus.
11:63
Et audivit Jonathas quod prævaricati sunt principes Demetrii in Cades, quæ est in Galilæa, cum exercitu multo, volentes eum removere a negotio regni :
約拿單聽見底米丟的首領們率領大軍來到加利利的基低斯,想要革除他的職位,
And Jonathan heard that Demetrius’ princes were come to Kedesh, which is in Galilee, with a great army, purposing to remove him from his office;
11:64
et occurrit illis : fratrem autem suum Simonem reliquit intra provinciam.
就去迎戰他們,把他的弟兄西門留在本地。
and he went to meet them, but Simon his brother he left in the country.
11:65
Et applicuit Simon ad Bethsuram, et expugnabat eam diebus multis, et conclusit eos.
西門在伯夙安營,攻打它許多日子,把它圍困起來。
And Simon encamped against Bethsura, and fought against it many days, and shut it up:
11:66
Et postulaverunt ab eo dextras accipere, et dedit illis : et ejecit eos inde, et cepit civitatem, et posuit in ea præsidium.
城裡的人向他求和,他就向他們伸出右手,把他們從那裡趕出去,佔據了那城,派駐軍隊把守。
and they made request to him that he would give them his right hand, and he gave it to them; and he put them out from thence, and took possession of the city, and set a garrison over it.
11:67
Et Jonathas et castra ejus applicuerunt ad aquam Genesar, et ante lucem vigilaverunt in campo Asor :
約拿單和他的軍隊在革尼撒勒的水邊安營,清早起來,往夏瑣平原去。
And Jonathan and his army encamped at the water of Gennesareth, and early in the morning they got them to the plain of Hazor.
11:68
et ecce castra alienigenarum occurrebant in campo, et tendebant ei insidias in montibus : ipse autem occurrit ex adverso.
看哪,有外族人的軍隊在平原上迎著他,又在山中為他設下伏兵,自己卻正面迎戰他。
And, behold, an army of strangers met him in the plain, and they laid an ambush for him in the mountains, but themselves met him face to face.
11:69
Insidiæ vero exsurrexerunt de locis suis, et commiserunt prælium.
伏兵從埋伏處起來,與他交戰。約拿單那邊的人都逃跑了,
But those who lay in ambush rose out of their places, and joined battle; and all those who were of Jonathan’s side fled:
11:70
Et fugerunt qui erant ex parte Jonathæ omnes, et nemo relictus est ex eis, nisi Mathathias filius Absolomi, et Judas filius Calphi, princeps militiæ exercitus.
沒有一個留下,只剩下軍隊的將領押沙龍的兒子瑪他提亞和哈勒非的兒子猶大。
not one of them was left, except Mattathias the son of Absalom, and Judas the son of Chalphi, captains of the forces.
11:71
Et scidit Jonathas vestimenta sua, et posuit terram in capite suo, et oravit.
約拿單撕裂衣服,把塵土撒在頭上,禱告。
And Jonathan tore his clothes, and put earth upon his head, and prayed.
11:72
Et reversus est Jonathas ad eos in prælium, et convertit eos in fugam, et pugnaverunt.
他回轉過來與他們交戰,把他們擊潰,他們就逃跑了。
And he turned again to them in battle, and put them to the rout, and they fled.
11:73
Et viderunt qui fugiebant partis illius, et reversi sunt ad eum, et insequebantur cum eo omnes usque Cades ad castra sua, et pervenerunt usque illuc :
那些逃跑的人見了,就回到他那裡,與他一同追趕敵人,直到基低斯他們的營地,就在那裡安營。
And they of his side that fled saw it, and returned to him, and pursued with him to Kedesh to their camp, and they encamped there.
11:74
et ceciderunt de alienigenis in die illa tria millia virorum : et reversus est Jonathas in Jerusalem.
那日外族人中倒下了約三千人。約拿單就回到耶路撒冷。
And there fell of the strangers on that day about three thousand men: and Jonathan returned to Jerusalem.
