6:1
Et rex Antiochus perambulabat superiores regiones, et audivit esse civitatem Elymaidem in Perside nobilissimam, et copiosam in argento et auro,
安提阿古王正走遍上方各地,聽說波斯的以攔有一座城,以富庶聞名,多有銀子和金子,
And king Antiochus was journeying through the upper countries; and he heard say, that in Elymais in Persia there was a city renowned for riches, for silver and gold;
6:2
templumque in ea locuples valde, et illic velamina aurea, et loricæ, et scuta, quæ reliquit Alexander Philippi rex Macedo, qui regnavit primus in Græcia.
城中的廟宇極其富有,那裡有金盾牌、鎧甲和兵器,是腓力之子、最先在希臘人中作王的馬其頓王亞歷山大留在那裡的。
and that the temple which was in it was rich exceedingly, and that therein were golden shields, and breastplates, and arms, which Alexander, son of Philip, the Macedonian king, who reigned first among the Greeks, left behind there.
6:3
Et venit, et quærebat capere civitatem, et deprædari eam : et non potuit, quoniam innotuit sermo his qui erant in civitate :
他來了,想要攻取那城,搶掠它,卻不能得手,因為這事已被城中的人知道了。
And he came and sought to take the city, and to pillage it; and he was not able, because the thing was known to them of the city,
6:4
et insurrexerunt in prælium, et fugit inde, et abiit cum tristitia magna, et reversus est in Babyloniam.
他們起來與他交戰,他便逃跑,極其憂愁地從那裡啟程,要回巴比倫去。
and they rose up against him to battle: and he fled, and removed thence with great heaviness, to return to Babylon.
6:5
Et venit qui nuntiaret ei in Perside, quia fugata sunt castra quæ erant in terra Juda :
有人來到波斯向他報信,說那些進攻猶大地的軍隊已被擊潰,
And there came one bringing him tidings into Persia, that the armies, which went against the land of Judah, had been put to flight;
6:6
et quia abiit Lysias cum virtute forti in primis, et fugatus est a facie Judæorum, et invaluerunt armis, et viribus, et spoliis multis, quæ ceperunt de castris, quæ exciderunt :
呂西亞率領強大的軍隊最先出戰,卻在他們面前蒙羞而退;以色列人因從他們所擊敗的軍隊那裡奪得的兵器、軍力和許多擄物而強盛起來;
and that Lysias went first with a strong army, and was put to shame before them; and that they had waxed strong by reason of arms and power, and with store of spoils, which they took from the armies that they had cut off;
6:7
et quia diruerunt abominationem, quam ædificaverat super altare quod erat in Jerusalem : et sanctificationem, sicut prius, circumdederunt muris excelsis, sed et Bethsuram civitatem suam.
他們又拆毀了他在耶路撒冷祭壇上所築那可憎之物,並像從前那樣用高牆圍住聖所,也圍住了他的城伯夙。
and that they had pulled down the abomination which he had built upon the altar that was in Jerusalem; and that they had compassed about the sanctuary with high walls, as before, and Bethsura, his city.
6:8
Et factum est ut audivit rex sermones istos, expavit, et commotus est valde : et decidit in lectum, et incidit in languorem præ tristitia, quia non factum est ei sicut cogitabat.
王聽見這些話,就驚惶不已,極其震動,臥病在牀,因憂愁而病倒,因為事情沒有照他所想望的成就。
And it came to pass, when the king heard these words, he was astonished and moved exceedingly: and he laid him down upon his bed, and fell sick for grief, because it had not befallen him as he looked for.
6:9
Et erat illic per dies multos, quia renovata est in eo tristitia magna, et arbitratus est se mori.
他在那裡躺了許多日子,因為極大的憂愁一再臨到他,他料定自己將要死去。
And he was there many days, because great grief was renewed upon him, and he made account that he should die.
6:10
Et vocavit omnes amicos suos, et dixit illis : Recessit somnus ab oculis meis, et concidi, et corrui corde præ sollicitudine :
他召來他一切的朋友,對他們說:「睡眠離開了我的眼睛,我的心因憂慮而頹喪。
And he called for all his Friends, and said to them, Sleep departs from my eyes, and my heart fails for care.
6:11
et dixi in corde meo : In quantam tribulationem deveni, et in quos fluctus tristitiæ, in qua nunc sum : qui jucundus eram, et dilectus in potestate mea !
我心裡說:『我陷入了何等的患難,落到我如今所處這何等大的波濤之中啊!我在位有權的時候,原是仁慈又蒙人愛戴的。』
And I said in my heart, To what tribulation am I come, and how great a flood is it, wherein I now am! for I was gracious and beloved in my power.
6:12
Nunc vero reminiscor malorum quæ feci in Jerusalem, unde et abstuli omnia spolia aurea et argentea quæ erant in ea, et misi auferre habitantes Judæam sine causa.
但如今我想起在耶路撒冷所行的惡事,我奪走了城裡一切金銀的器皿,又無故差人去除滅猶大的居民。
But now I remember the evils which I did at Jerusalem, and that I took all the vessels of silver and gold that were therein, and sent forth to destroy the inhabitants of Judah without a cause.
6:13
Cognovi ergo quia propterea invenerunt me mala ista : et ecce pereo tristitia magna in terra aliena.
我知道這些禍患是因這緣故臨到我身上的。看哪,我如今在異地因極大的憂愁滅亡了。」
I percieve that on this account these evils are come upon me, and, behold, I perish through great grief in a strange land.
6:14
Et vocavit Philippum, unum de amicis suis, et præposuit eum super universum regnum suum :
他召來他的一個朋友腓力,立他治理全國,
And he called for Philip, one of his Friends, and set him over all his kingdom,
6:15
et dedit ei diadema, et stolam suam, et annulum, ut adduceret Antiochum filium suum, et nutriret eum, et regnaret.
把冠冕、朝服和印戒都給了他,要他帶領王的兒子安提阿古,撫養他作王。
and gave him his diadem, and his robe, and his signet ring, to the end he should bring Antiochus his son, and nourish him up that he might be king.
6:16
Et mortuus est illic Antiochus rex anno centesimo quadragesimo nono.
安提阿古王就在一百四十九年死在那裡。
And king Antiochus died there in the hundred and forty and ninth year.
6:17
Et cognovit Lysias quoniam mortuus est rex, et constituit regnare Antiochum filium ejus, quem nutrivit adolescentem : et vocavit nomen ejus Eupator.
呂西亞知道王已死,就立王所撫養年幼的兒子安提阿古接續作王,給他起名叫尤帕特。
And Lysias knew that the king was dead, and he set up Antiochus his son to reign, whom he had nourished up being young, and he called his name Eupator.
6:18
Et hi qui erant in arce, concluserant Israël in circuitu sanctorum : et quærebant eis mala semper, et firmamentum gentium.
堡壘裡的人在聖所四圍圍困以色列,常常尋求加害他們,並要扶持外邦人。
And those who were in the citadel shut up Israel round about the sanctuary, and sought always their hurt, and the strengthening of the Gentiles.
6:19
Et cogitavit Judas disperdere eos : et convocavit universum populum, ut obsiderent eos.
猶大定意要除滅他們,就召集全體百姓去圍攻他們。
And Judas thought to destroy them, and called all the people together to besiege them.
6:20
Et convenerunt simul, et obsederunt eos anno centesimo quinquagesimo, et fecerunt ballistas et machinas.
他們一同聚集,在一百五十年圍攻堡壘。他造了發射臺和攻城器具。
And they were gathered together, and besieged them in the hundred and fifties year, and he made mounds to shoot from, and engines of war.
6:21
Et exierunt quidam ex eis qui obsidebantur : et adjunxerunt se illis aliqui impii ex Israël,
被圍困的人中有些出來,以色列中有些不敬虔的人歸附了他們,
And there came forth some of those who were shut up, and there were joined to them certain ungodly men of Israel.
6:22
et abierunt ad regem, et dixerunt : Quousque non facis judicium, et vindicas fratres nostros ?
前往見王,說:「你還要等到幾時才施行審判,為我們的弟兄伸冤呢?
And they went to the king, and said, How long will you not execute judgement, and avenge our kindred?
6:23
Nos decrevimus servire patri tuo, et ambulare in præceptis ejus, et obsequi edictis ejus :
我們本願意服事你的父親,遵行他所說的話,順從他的命令;
We were willing to serve your father, and to walk after his words, and to follow his commandments;
6:24
et filii populi nostri propter hoc alienabant se a nobis, et quicumque inveniebantur ex nobis, interficiebantur, et hæreditates nostræ diripiebantur.
我們本族的人卻因此圍困堡壘,與我們為敵。他們一遇見我們中間的人就殺,又搶奪我們的產業。
and for this cause the children of our people besieged the citadel, and were alienated from us; but as many of us as they could light on they killed, and plundered our inheritances.
6:25
Et non ad nos tantum extenderunt manum, sed et in omnes fines nostros :
他們不單向我們下手,也向他們一切的境界下手。
And not against us only did they stretch out their hand, but also against all their borders.
6:26
et ecce applicuerunt hodie ad arcem Jerusalem occupare eam, et munitionem Bethsuram munierunt :
看哪,他們今日安營攻打耶路撒冷的堡壘,要攻取它,又鞏固了聖所和伯夙。
And, behold, they are encamped this day against the citadel at Jerusalem, to take it: and the sanctuary and Bethsura have they fortified.
6:27
et nisi præveneris eos velocius, majora quam hæc facient, et non poteris obtinere eos.
你若不趕快搶先制伏他們,他們必行比這些更大的事,你就不能制服他們了。」
And if you⌃ are not beforehand with them quickly, they will do greater things than these, and you shall not be able to control them.
6:28
Et iratus est rex, ut hæc audivit : et convocavit omnes amicos suos, et principes exercitus sui, et eos qui super equites erant :
王聽見了這話就發怒,召集他一切的朋友、軍隊的首領和統管騎兵的人。
And when the king heard this, he was angry, and gathered together all his Friends, even the rulers of his army, and those who were over the horse.
6:29
sed et de regnis aliis et de insulis maritimis venerunt ad eum exercitus conductitii.
又有僱傭兵從別的王國和海島來到他那裡。
And there came to him from other kingdoms, and from isles of the sea, bands of hired soldiers.
6:30
Et erat numerus exercitus ejus, centum millia peditum, et viginti millia equitum, et elephanti triginta duo, docti ad prælium.
他軍隊的數目是步兵十萬、騎兵二萬,並有三十二隻受過戰陣訓練的戰象。
And the number of his forces was a hundred thousand footmen, and twenty thousand horsemen, and two and thirty elephants trained for war.
6:31
Et venerunt per Idumæam, et applicuerunt ad Bethsuram, et pugnaverunt dies multos : et fecerunt machinas, et exierunt, et succenderunt eas igni, et pugnaverunt viriliter.
他們經過以土買,安營攻打伯夙,攻打了許多日子,又造了攻城器具。伯夙的人出來,用火焚燒了那些器具,奮勇作戰。
And they went through Idumaea, and encamped against Bethsura, and fought against it many days, and made engines of war; and they of Bethsura came out, and burned them with fire, and fought valiantly.
6:32
Et recessit Judas ab arce, et movit castra ad Bethzacharam contra castra regis.
猶大從堡壘那裡啟程,在伯撒迦利亞安營,與王的營地相對。
And Judas removed from the citadel, and encamped at Bethzacharias, near the king’s camp.
6:33
Et surrexit rex ante lucem, et concitavit exercitus in impetum contra viam Bethzacharam : et comparaverunt se exercitus in prælium, et tubis cecinerunt :
王清早起來,急速拔營,沿伯撒迦利亞的路前進,軍隊列好戰陣,吹響號筒。
And the king rose early in the morning, and removed his army at full speed along the road to Bethzacharias, and his forces made them ready to battle, and sounded with the trumpets.
6:34
et elephantis ostenderunt sanguinem uvæ et mori, ad acuendos eos in prælium :
他們把葡萄汁和桑椹汁給戰象看,激起牠們投入戰鬥。
And they showed the elephants the blood of grapes and mulberries, that they might prepare them for the battle.
6:35
et diviserunt bestias per legiones, et astiterunt singulis elephantis mille viri in loricis concatenatis, et galeæ æreæ in capitibus eorum : et quingenti equites ordinati unicuique bestiæ electi erant.
他們把這些獸分派在各方陣中,每隻戰象旁配置一千名身穿鎖子甲、頭戴銅盔的兵丁,又為每隻獸調派了五百名精選的騎兵。
And they divided the beasts among the phalanxes, and they set by each elephant a thousand men armed with coats of mail, and helmets of brass on their heads; and for each beast were appointed five hundred chosen horsemen.
6:36
Hi ante tempus, ubicumque erat bestia, ibi erant : et quocumque ibat, ibant, et non discedebant ab ea.
這些人預先就位,無論獸在哪裡,無論獸往何處去,他們都一同前行,不離開牠。
These were ready beforehand, wherever the beast was; and wherever the beast went, they went with him; they departed not from him.
6:37
Sed et turres ligneæ super eos firmæ protegentes super singulas bestias : et super eas machinæ : et super singulas viri virtutis triginta duo, qui pugnabant desuper : et Indus magister bestiæ.
獸背上有堅固有遮蓋的木樓,用器械牢牢地縛在每隻獸身上,每樓上有四名作戰的勇士,並有駕馭牠的印度人。
And towers of wood were upon them, strong and covered, one upon each beast, girded fast upon him with cunning contrivances; and upon each beast were two and thirty valiant men that fought upon them, beside his Indian
6:38
Et residuum equitatum hinc et inde statuit in duas partes, tubis exercitum commovere, et perurgere constipatos in legionibus ejus.
其餘的騎兵,王把他們分列在軍隊的兩側,威嚇敵人,並由方陣護衛。
(and the residue of the horsemen he set on this side and that side at the two parts of the army), striking terror into the enemy, and protected by the phalanxes.
6:39
Et ut refulsit sol in clypeos aureos et æreos, resplenduerunt montes ab eis, et resplenduerunt sicut lampades ignis.
日光照在金盾牌和銅盾牌上,眾山因此閃耀,發光如同火把。
Now when the sun shone upon the shields of gold and brass, the mountains shone therewith, and blazed like torches of fire.
6:40
Et distincta est pars exercitus regis per montes excelsos, et alia per loca humilia : et ibant caute et ordinate.
王軍的一部分散佈在高山上,一部分在低處,他們穩妥而有秩序地前進。
And a part of the king’s army was spread upon the high mountains, and some on the low ground, and they went on firmly and in order.
6:41
Et commovebantur omnes inhabitantes terram a voce multitudinis, et incessu turbæ, et collisione armorum : erat enim exercitus magnus valde, et fortis.
凡聽見他們大隊的聲音、羣眾行進的腳步聲和兵器碰撞聲的,都戰兢起來,因為那軍隊極其浩大強盛。
And all that heard the noise of their multitude, and the marching of the multitude, and the rattling of the arms, did quake: for the army was exceeding great and strong.
6:42
Et appropiavit Judas et exercitus ejus in prælium, et ceciderunt de exercitu regis sexcenti viri.
猶大和他的軍隊上前列陣交戰,王的軍隊中倒下了六百人。
And Judas and his army drew near for battle, and there fell of the king’s army six hundred men.
6:43
Et vidit Eleazar filius Saura unam de bestiis loricatam loricis regis : et erat eminens super ceteras bestias, et visum est ei quod in ea esset rex :
亞瓦蘭以利亞撒看見其中一隻戰象披著王室的鎧甲,比一切的獸都高大,以為王就在牠上面,
And Eleazar, who was called Avaran, saw one of the beasts armed with royal breastplates, and he was higher than all the beasts, and the king seemed to be upon him;
6:44
et dedit se ut liberaret populum suum, et acquireret sibi nomen æternum.
他就獻上自己,要拯救他的百姓,為自己得永遠的名。
and he gave himself to deliver his people, and to get him an everlasting name;
6:45
Et cucurrit ad eam audacter in medio legionis, interficiens a dextris et a sinistris, et cadebant ab eo huc atque illuc.
他放膽奔向那隻獸,衝進方陣中央,左右殺戮,敵人就在他兩旁分開。
and he ran upon him courageously into the midst of the phalanx, and killed on the right hand and on the left, and they parted asunder from him on this side and on that.
6:46
Et ivit sub pedes elephantis, et supposuit se ei, et occidit eum : et cecidit in terram super ipsum, et mortuus est illic.
他鑽到那象底下,從下面刺殺了牠。象倒在地上壓在他身上,他就死在那裡。
And he crept under the elephant, and thrust him from beneath, and killed him; and the elephant fell to the earth upon him, and he died there.
6:47
Et videntes virtutem regis, et impetum exercitus ejus, diverterunt se ab eis.
猶大人見王國的勢力和軍隊的猛烈衝勢,就從他們面前退去。
And they saw the strength of the kingdom, and the fierce onset of the army, and turned away from them.
6:48
Castra autem regis ascenderunt contra eos in Jerusalem, et applicuerunt castra regis ad Judæam, et montem Sion.
王的軍隊上到耶路撒冷迎戰他們,王向著猶大和錫安山安營。
But they of the king’s army went up to Jerusalem to meet them, and the king encamped toward Judea, and toward mount Sion.
6:49
Et fecit pacem cum his qui erant in Bethsura : et exierunt de civitate, quia non erant eis ibi alimenta conclusis, quia sabbata erant terræ.
他與伯夙的人講和,他們便從城裡出來,因為城裡沒有糧食可以堅守,那地正逢安息年。
And he made peace with them of Bethsura; and he came out of the city, because they had no food there to endure the siege, because it was a Sabbath to the land.
6:50
Et comprehendit rex Bethsuram : et constituit illic custodiam servare eam.
王攻取了伯夙,派駐軍隊把守那城。
And the king took Bethsura, and appointed a garrison there to keep it.
6:51
Et convertit castra ad locum sanctificationis dies multos : et statuit illic ballistas, et machinas, et ignis jacula, et tormenta ad lapides jactandos, et spicula, et scorpios ad mittendas sagittas, et fundibula.
他安營攻打聖所許多日子,在那裡設置發射臺、攻城器具、噴火器、拋石機和射弩,用來發射箭矢和投擲石彈。
And he encamped against the sanctuary many days; and set there mounds to shoot from, and engines of war, and instruments for casting fire and stones, and pieces to cast darts, and slings.
6:52
Fecerunt autem et ipsi machinas adversus machinas eorum, et pugnaverunt dies multos.
聖所裡的人也製造器械對抗他們的器械,攻戰了許多日子。
And they also made engines against their engines, and fought for many days.
6:53
Escæ autem non erant in civitate, eo quod septimus annus esset : et qui remanserant in Judæa de gentibus, consumpserant reliquias eorum, quæ repositæ fuerant.
只是器皿中沒有糧食,因為那年是第七年(安息年),那些從外邦人手中逃進猶大避難的人,已把所存的餘糧喫盡了。
But there were no food in the sanctuary, because it was the seventh year, and those who fled for safety into Judea from among the Gentiles had eaten up the residue of the store;
6:54
Et remanserunt in sanctis viri pauci, quoniam obtinuerat eos fames : et dispersi sunt unusquisque in locum suum.
留在聖所中的人不多,因為飢荒勝過了他們,各人就分散回自己的地方去了。
and there were but a few left in the sanctuary, because the famine prevailed against them, and they were scattered, each man to his own place.
6:55
Et audivit Lysias quod Philippus, quem constituerat rex Antiochus cum adhuc viveret, ut nutriret Antiochum filium suum, et regnaret,
呂西亞聽說腓力(就是安提阿古王在世時所立、撫養他兒子安提阿古作王的那人),
And Lysias heard say, that Philip, whom Antiochus the king, whiles he was yet alive, appointed to nourish up his son Antiochus, that he might be king,
6:56
reversus esset a Perside et Media, et exercitus qui abierat cum ipso, et quia quærebat suscipere regni negotia :
已從波斯和瑪代回來,隨王出征的軍隊也與他同回,並且他想要掌管國政,
was returned from Persia and Media, and with him the forces that went with the king, and that he was seeking to take to him the government.
6:57
festinavit ire, et dicere ad regem, et duces exercitus : Deficimus quotidie, et esca nobis modica est ; et locus, quem obsidemus, est munitus, et incumbit nobis ordinare de regno.
就急忙決意起行,對王和軍隊的將領以及眾人說:「我們日漸衰弱,糧食又少,我們安營的地方又堅固,王國的事務也壓在我們身上。
And he made haste, and gave consent to depart; and he said to the king and the leaders of the army and to the men, We decay daily, and our food is scant, and the place where we encamp is strong, and the affairs of the kingdom lie upon us:
6:58
Nunc itaque demus dextras hominibus istis, et faciamus cum illis pacem, et cum omni gente eorum :
如今讓我們向這些人伸出右手,與他們和他們全族講和,
now therefore let us give the right hand to these men, and make peace with them and with all their nation,
6:59
et constituamus illis ut ambulent in legitimis suis sicut prius : propter legitima enim ipsorum, quæ despeximus, irati sunt, et fecerunt omnia hæc.
準他們像從前那樣遵行他們的律例。因為我們廢除他們的律例,他們才發怒,做了這一切事。」
and covenant with them, that they shall walk after their own laws, as aforetime: for because of their laws which we abolished they were angered, and did all these things.
6:60
Et placuit sermo in conspectu regis et principum : et misit ad eos pacem facere, et receperunt illam.
這話在王和首領們面前看為美好,王就差人去與他們講和,他們也接受了。
And the saying pleased the king and the princes, and he sent to them to make peace; and they accepted thereof.
6:61
Et juravit illis rex et principes, et exierunt de munitione.
王和首領們向他們起了誓,他們就從堡壘出來。
And the king and the princes sware to them: thereupon they came forth from the stronghold.
6:62
Et intravit rex montem Sion, et vidit munitionem loci : et rupit citius juramentum quod juravit, et mandavit destruere murum in gyro.
王進入錫安山,看見那地方的堅固,就背棄了所起的誓,下令拆毀四圍的城牆。
And the king entered into mount Sion; and he saw the strength of the place, and set at nothing the oath which he had sworn, and gave commandment to pull down the wall round about.
6:63
Et discessit festinanter, et reversus est Antiochiam, et invenit Philippum dominantem civitati : et pugnavit adversus eum, et occupavit civitatem.
他急忙拔營回到安提阿,發現腓力已經佔據了那城,就與他交戰,用武力攻取了那城。
And he removed in haste, and returned to Antioch, and found Philip master of the city; and he fought against him, and took the city by force.
