11:1
כִּ֛י נַ֥עַר יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל וָאֹהֲבֵ֑הוּ וּמִמִּצְרַ֖יִם קָרָ֥אתִי לִבְנִֽי׃
διότι νήπιος Ισραηλ καὶ ἐγὼ ἠγάπησα αὐτὸν καὶ ἐξ Αἰγύπτου μετεκάλεσα τὰ τέκνα αὐτοῦ
Sicut mane transiit, pertransiit rex Israël. Quia puer Israël, et dilexi eum ; et ex Aegypto vocavi filium meum.
በጸባሕ፡ ተነፅኁ፡ ይነፅኀዎ፡ ለንጉሠ፡ እስራኤል፡ እስመ፡ ሕፃን፡ ውእቱ፡ እስራኤል፡ ወአነ፡ አፍቀርክዎ፡ ወአምግብጽ፡ ጸዋዕክዎ፡ ለወልድየ።
“When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.
11:2
קָרְא֖וּ לָהֶ֑ם כֵּ֚ן הָלְכ֣וּ מִפְּנֵיהֶ֔ם לַבְּעָלִ֣ים יְזַבֵּ֔חוּ וְלַפְּסִלִ֖ים יְקַטֵּרֽוּן׃
καθὼς μετεκάλεσα αὐτούς οὕτως ἀπῴχοντο ἐκ προσώπου μου αὐτοὶ τοῖς Βααλιμ ἔθυον καὶ τοῖς γλυπτοῖς ἐθυμίων
Vocaverunt eos, sic abierunt a facie eorum ; Baalim immolabant, et simulacris sacrificabant.
ወበከመ፡ ጸዋዕክዎሙ፡ ከማሁ፡ ርኀቁ፡ እምገጽየ፡ እሙንቱሰ፡ ለበዓሊምዎዑ፡ ወለግልፎ፡ ዐጠኑ።
They called to them, so they went from them. They sacrificed to the Baals, and burned incense to engraved images.
11:3
וְאָנֹכִ֤י תִרְגַּ֙לְתִּי֙ לְאֶפְרַ֔יִם קָחָ֖ם עַל־זְרוֹעֹתָ֑יו וְלֹ֥א יָדְע֖וּ כִּ֥י רְפָאתִֽים׃
καὶ ἐγὼ συνεπόδισα τὸν Εφραιμ ἀνέλαβον αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τὸν βραχίονά μου καὶ οὐκ ἔγνωσαν ὅτι ἴαμαι αὐτούς
Et ego quasi nutritius Ephraim : portabam eos in brachiis meis, et nescierunt quod curarem eos.
ወአነ፡ አዕቀፅክዎ፡ ለኤፍሬም፡ ወተመጠውክ፡ ዲበ፡ መዝራዕትየ፡ ወኢያእመሩ፡ ከመ፡ አነ፡ ፈወስድመሙ።
Yet I taught Ephraim to walk. I took them by their arms, but they didn’t know that I healed them.
11:4
בְּחַבְלֵ֨י אָדָ֤ם אֶמְשְׁכֵם֙ בַּעֲבֹת֣וֹת אַהֲבָ֔ה וָאֶהְיֶ֥ה לָהֶ֛ם כִּמְרִ֥ימֵי עֹ֖ל עַ֣ל לְחֵיהֶ֑ם וְאַ֥ט אֵלָ֖יו אוֹכִֽיל׃
ἐν διαφθορᾷ ἀνθρώπων ἐξέτεινα αὐτοὺς ἐν δεσμοῖς ἀγαπήσεώς μου καὶ ἔσομαι αὐτοῖς ὡς ῥαπίζων ἄνθρωπος ἐπὶ τὰς σιαγόνας αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπιβλέψομαι πρὸς αὐτόν δυνήσομαι αὐτῷ
In funiculis Adam traham eos, in vinculis caritatis ; et ero eis quasi exaltans jugum super maxillas eorum, et declinavi ad eum ut vesceretur.
ወውስተ፡ ሙስና፡ ስብእ፡ ሰፋህክዎሙ፡ በማእሰረ፡ ፍቅርየ፡ ወኮነክዎሙ፡ ከመ፡ ዜጸፍዕዎ፡ ለብእሲ፡ ውስተ፡ መልታህቱ፡ ወእኔጽር፡ መንገሌሁ፡ ወእክሎ።
I drew them with cords of a man, with ties of love; and I was to them like those who lift up the yoke on their necks; and I bent down to him and I fed him.
11:5
לֹ֤א יָשׁוּב֙ אֶל־אֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֔יִם וְאַשּׁ֖וּר ה֣וּא מַלְכּ֑וֹ כִּ֥י מֵאֲנ֖וּ לָשֽׁוּב׃
κατῴκησεν Εφραιμ ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ καὶ Ασσουρ αὐτὸς βασιλεὺς αὐτοῦ ὅτι οὐκ ἠθέλησεν ἐπιστρέψαι
Non revertetur in terram Aegypti, et Assur ipse rex ejus, quoniam noluerunt converti.
ነበረ፡ ኤፍሬም፡ ውስተ፡ ግብጽ፡ ወአሶር፡ ውእቱ፡ ንጉሱ፡ እስመ፡ አበየ፡ ተመይጦ።
“They won’t return into the land of Egypt; but the Assyrian will be their king, because they refused to repent.
11:6
וְחָלָ֥ה חֶ֙רֶב֙ בְּעָרָ֔יו וְכִלְּתָ֥ה בַדָּ֖יו וְאָכָ֑לָה מִֽמֹּעֲצ֖וֹתֵיהֶֽם׃
καὶ ἠσθένησεν ῥομφαία ἐν ταῖς πόλεσιν αὐτοῦ καὶ κατέπαυσεν ἐν ταῖς χερσὶν αὐτοῦ καὶ φάγονται ἐκ τῶν διαβουλίων αὐτῶν
Coepit gladius in civitatibus ejus, et consumet electos ejus, et comedet capita eorum.
ወደክመት፡ ኲናት፡ በሀገሩ፡ ወሠዐራ፡ እምእደዊሁ፡ ወይበልዑ፡ እምውዴቶሙ።
The sword will fall on their cities, and will destroy the bars of their gates, and will put an end to their plans.
11:7
וְעַמִּ֥י תְלוּאִ֖ים לִמְשׁוּבָתִ֑י וְאֶל־עַל֙ יִקְרָאֻ֔הוּ יַ֖חַד לֹ֥א יְרוֹמֵֽם׃
καὶ ὁ λαὸς αὐτοῦ ἐπικρεμάμενος ἐκ τῆς κατοικίας αὐτοῦ καὶ ὁ θεὸς ἐπὶ τὰ τίμια αὐτοῦ θυμωθήσεται καὶ οὐ μὴ ὑψώσῃ αὐτόν
Et populus meus pendebit ad reditum meum ; jugum autem imponetur eis simul, quod non auferetur.
ወህዝብየኒ፡ ስቁ፡ እምነ፡ ምንባሪሁ፡ ወይትመዐዕ፡ እዚአብሔር፡ ላዕለ፡ ክብሩ፡ ወኢያዐብዩ።
My people are determined to turn from me. Though they call to the Most High, he certainly won’t exalt them.
11:8
אֵ֞יךְ אֶתֶּנְךָ֣ אֶפְרַ֗יִם אֲמַגֶּנְךָ֙ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֵ֚יךְ אֶתֶּנְךָ֣ כְאַדְמָ֔ה אֲשִֽׂימְךָ֖ כִּצְבֹאיִ֑ם נֶהְפַּ֤ךְ עָלַי֙ לִבִּ֔י יַ֖חַד נִכְמְר֥וּ נִחוּמָֽי׃
τί σε διαθῶ Εφραιμ ὑπερασπιῶ σου Ισραηλ τί σε διαθῶ ὡς Αδαμα θήσομαί σε καὶ ὡς Σεβωιμ μετεστράφη ἡ καρδία μου ἐν τῷ αὐτῷ συνεταράχθη ἡ μεταμέλειά μου
Quomodo dabo te, Ephraim ? protegam te, Israël ? Quomodo dabo te sicut Adama, ponam te ut Seboim ? Conversum est in me cor meum, pariter conturbata est poenitudo mea.
እፎኑ፡ እንከ፡ ኤፍሬም፡ እስውቀከ፡ እፎኒ፡ እሬስየከ፡ እስራኤል፡ ከመ፡ አዳማኒ፡ ወሚመ፡ ከመ፡ ሳበማ፡ ልብየ፡ ተሀውከት፡ ወአስተርአየት፡ ምህረትየ።
“How can I give you up, Ephraim? How can I hand you over, Israel? How can I make you like Admah? How can I make you like Zeboiim? My heart is turned within me, my compassion is aroused.
11:9
לֹ֤א אֶֽעֱשֶׂה֙ חֲר֣וֹן אַפִּ֔י לֹ֥א אָשׁ֖וּב לְשַׁחֵ֣ת אֶפְרָ֑יִם כִּ֣י אֵ֤ל אָנֹכִי֙ וְלֹא־אִ֔ישׁ בְּקִרְבְּךָ֣ קָד֔וֹשׁ וְלֹ֥א אָב֖וֹא בְּעִֽיר׃
οὐ μὴ ποιήσω κατὰ τὴν ὀργὴν τοῦ θυμοῦ μου οὐ μὴ ἐγκαταλίπω τοῦ ἐξαλειφθῆναι τὸν Εφραιμ διότι θεὸς ἐγώ εἰμι καὶ οὐκ ἄνθρωπος ἐν σοὶ ἅγιος καὶ οὐκ εἰσελεύσομαι εἰς πόλιν
Non faciam furorem irae meae ; non convertar ut disperdam Ephraim, quoniam Deus ego, et non homo ; in medio tui sanctus, et non ingrediar civitatem.
ወኢይገብር፡ እንከሰ፡ በመቅሠፍተ፡ መዐትየ፡ ወኢየኀድግ፡ ጥፍአዎ፡ ለኤፍሬም፡ እስመ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ አነ፡ ወአኮ፡ ሰብእ። ወቅዱስ፡ በላዕሌከ፡ ወእብል፡ ኢይበውእ፡ ሀገር።
I will not execute the fierceness of my anger. I will not return to destroy Ephraim, for I am God, and not man—the Holy One among you. I will not come in wrath.
11:10
אַחֲרֵ֧י יְהֹוָ֛ה יֵלְכ֖וּ כְּאַרְיֵ֣ה יִשְׁאָ֑ג כִּֽי־ה֣וּא יִשְׁאַ֔ג וְיֶחֶרְד֥וּ בָנִ֖ים מִיָּֽם׃
ὀπίσω κυρίου πορεύσομαι ὡς λέων ἐρεύξεται ὅτι αὐτὸς ὠρύσεται καὶ ἐκστήσονται τέκνα ὑδάτων
Post Dominum ambulabunt ; quasi leo rugiet, quia ipse rugiet, et formidabunt filii maris.
አሐውር፡ አትልዎ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ እግዚእ፡ እስመ፡ ያድኀነነ። ከመ፡ አንበሳ፡ ይጥሕር፡ ወይደነግፁ፡ ውለዶ፡ ማይ።
They will walk after Yahweh, who will roar like a lion; for he will roar, and the children will come trembling from the west.
11:11
יֶחֶרְד֤וּ כְצִפּוֹר֙ מִמִּצְרַ֔יִם וּכְיוֹנָ֖ה מֵאֶ֣רֶץ אַשּׁ֑וּר וְהוֹשַׁבְתִּ֥ים עַל־בָּתֵּיהֶ֖ם נְאֻם־יְהֹוָֽה׃ {ס}
καὶ ἐκστήσονται ὡς ὄρνεον ἐξ Αἰγύπτου καὶ ὡς περιστερὰ ἐκ γῆς Ἀσσυρίων καὶ ἀποκαταστήσω αὐτοὺς εἰς τοὺς οἴκους αὐτῶν λέγει κύριος
Et avolabunt quasi avis ex Aegypto, et quasi columba de terra Assyriorum : et collocabo eos in domibus suis, dicit Dominus.
ወያንክር፡ ከመ፡ ዖፈ፡ ግብጽ፡ ወከመ፡ ርግብ፡ እንተ፡ ብሔረ፡ ፋርስ፡ ወአገብኦሙ፡ ውስተ፡ አብያቲሆሙ፡ ቤተ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
They will come trembling like a bird out of Egypt, and like a dove out of the land of Assyria; and I will settle them in their houses,” says Yahweh.
11:12——
Circumdedit me in negatione Ephraim, et in dolo domus Israël ; Judas autem testis descendit cum Deo, et cum sanctis fidelis.
ሐፀሩኒ፡ በሐሰተ፡ ኤፍሬም፡ ወቤተ፡ እስራኤል፡ ወይሁዳ፡ በዓመፃ፡ ይእዜ፡ አእመርክዎሙ፡ እግዚኦ፡ ወህዝበ፡ ቅዱስ፡ ተሰምየ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር።
Ephraim surrounds me with falsehood, and the house of Israel with deceit. Judah still strays from God, and is unfaithful to the Holy One.
