11:1
וְיָצָ֥א חֹ֖טֶר מִגֵּ֣זַע יִשָׁ֑י וְנֵ֖צֶר מִשׇּׁרָשָׁ֥יו יִפְרֶֽה׃
καὶ ἐξελεύσεται ῥάβδος ἐκ τῆς ῥίζης Ιεσσαι καὶ ἄνθος ἐκ τῆς ῥίζης ἀναβήσεται
Et egredietur virga de radice Jesse, et flos de radice ejus ascendet.
ወትወፅእ፡ በትር፡ እምሥርወ፡ እሴይ፤ ወየዐርግ፡ ጽጌ፡ እምጕንዱ።
A shoot will come out of the stock of Jesse, and a branch out of his roots will bear fruit.
11:2
וְנָחָ֥ה עָלָ֖יו ר֣וּחַ יְהֹוָ֑ה ר֧וּחַ חׇכְמָ֣ה וּבִינָ֗ה ר֤וּחַ עֵצָה֙ וּגְבוּרָ֔ה ר֥וּחַ דַּ֖עַת וְיִרְאַ֥ת יְהֹוָֽה׃
καὶ ἀναπαύσεται ἐπ’ αὐτὸν πνεῦμα τοῦ θεοῦ πνεῦμα σοφίας καὶ συνέσεως πνεῦμα βουλῆς καὶ ἰσχύος πνεῦμα γνώσεως καὶ εὐσεβείας
Et requiescet super eum spiritus Domini : spiritus sapientiae et intellectus, spiritus consilii et fortitudinis, spiritus scientiae et pietatis ;
ወየዐርፍ፡ ዲቤሁ፡ መንፈሰ፡ እግዚአብሔር፤ መንፈሰ፡ ጥበብ፡ ወአእምሮ፤ መንፈሰ፡ ኃይል፡ ወምክር፤ መንፈሰ፡ ልቡና፡ ወጽድቅ።
Yahweh’s Spirit will rest on him: the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of Yahweh.
11:3
וַהֲרִיח֖וֹ בְּיִרְאַ֣ת יְהֹוָ֑ה וְלֹֽא־לְמַרְאֵ֤ה עֵינָיו֙ יִשְׁפּ֔וֹט וְלֹא־לְמִשְׁמַ֥ע אׇזְנָ֖יו יוֹכִֽיחַ׃
ἐμπλήσει αὐτὸν πνεῦμα φόβου θεοῦ οὐ κατὰ τὴν δόξαν κρινεῖ οὐδὲ κατὰ τὴν λαλιὰν ἐλέγξει
et replebit eum spiritus timoris Domini. Non secundum visionem oculorum judicabit, neque secundum auditum aurium arguet ;
ወይመልእ፡ ላዕሌሁ፡ መንፈሰ፡ ፍርሃተ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
His delight will be in the fear of Yahweh. He will not judge by the sight of his eyes, neither decide by the hearing of his ears;
11:4
וְשָׁפַ֤ט בְּצֶ֙דֶק֙ דַּלִּ֔ים וְהוֹכִ֥יחַ בְּמִישׁ֖וֹר לְעַנְוֵי־אָ֑רֶץ וְהִֽכָּה־אֶ֙רֶץ֙ בְּשֵׁ֣בֶט פִּ֔יו וּבְר֥וּחַ שְׂפָתָ֖יו יָמִ֥ית רָשָֽׁע׃
ἀλλὰ κρινεῖ ταπεινῷ κρίσιν καὶ ἐλέγξει τοὺς ταπεινοὺς τῆς γῆς καὶ πατάξει γῆν τῷ λόγῳ τοῦ στόματος αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐν πνεύματι διὰ χειλέων ἀνελεῖ ἀσεβῆ
sed judicabit in justitia pauperes, et arguet in aequitate pro mansuetis terrae ; et percutiet terram virga oris sui, et spiritu labiorum suorum interficiet impium.
ዳእሙ፡ በየዋህ፡ ኵነኔ፡ ይኴንን፤ ወይዛለፎሙ፡ ለክቡራነ፡ ምድር፤ ወይቀሥፋ፡ ለምድር፡ በቃለ፡ አፉሁ፤ ወበመንፈሰ፡ ከናፍሪሁ፡ ለኃጥእ።
but he will judge the poor with righteousness, and decide with equity for the humble of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; and with the breath of his lips he will kill the wicked.
11:5
וְהָ֥יָה צֶ֖דֶק אֵז֣וֹר מׇתְנָ֑יו וְהָאֱמוּנָ֖ה אֵז֥וֹר חֲלָצָֽיו׃
καὶ ἔσται δικαιοσύνῃ ἐζωσμένος τὴν ὀσφὺν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀληθείᾳ εἰλημένος τὰς πλευράς
Et erit justitia cingulum lumborum ejus, et fides cinctorium renum ejus.
ወይቀንት፡ ጽድቀ፡ ውስተ፡ ሐቄሁ፤ ወይትዐፀፍ፡ ርትዐ፡ ውስተ፡ ገቦሁ።
Righteousness will be the belt around his waist, and faithfulness the belt around his waist.
11:6
וְגָ֤ר זְאֵב֙ עִם־כֶּ֔בֶשׂ וְנָמֵ֖ר עִם־גְּדִ֣י יִרְבָּ֑ץ וְעֵ֨גֶל וּכְפִ֤יר וּמְרִיא֙ יַחְדָּ֔ו וְנַ֥עַר קָטֹ֖ן נֹהֵ֥ג בָּֽם׃
καὶ συμβοσκηθήσεται λύκος μετὰ ἀρνός καὶ πάρδαλις συναναπαύσεται ἐρίφῳ καὶ μοσχάριον καὶ ταῦρος καὶ λέων ἅμα βοσκηθήσονται καὶ παιδίον μικρὸν ἄξει αὐτούς
Habitabit lupus cum agno, et pardus cum haedo accubabit ; vitulus, et leo, et ovis, simul morabuntur, et puer parvulus minabit eos.
ወይትረዐዩ፡ ተኵላት፡ ምስለ፡ አባግዕ፤ ወየዐርፍ፡ ነምር፡ ምስለ፡ ጠሊ፤ ወይትረዐዩ፡ አልህምት፡ ምስለ፡ አናብስት፤ ወየሐስሎሙ፡ ሕፃን፡ ንስቲት።
The wolf will live with the lamb, and the leopard will lie down with the young goat, the calf, the young lion, and the fattened calf together; and a little child will lead them.
11:7
וּפָרָ֤ה וָדֹב֙ תִּרְעֶ֔ינָה יַחְדָּ֖ו יִרְבְּצ֣וּ יַלְדֵיהֶ֑ן וְאַרְיֵ֖ה כַּבָּקָ֥ר יֹאכַל־תֶּֽבֶן׃
καὶ βοῦς καὶ ἄρκος ἅμα βοσκηθήσονται καὶ ἅμα τὰ παιδία αὐτῶν ἔσονται καὶ λέων καὶ βοῦς ἅμα φάγονται ἄχυρα
Vitulus et ursus pascentur, simul requiescent catuli eorum ; et leo quasi bos comedet paleas.
ወይትረዐዩ፡ አልህምት፡ ምስለ፡ ድብ፡ ኅቡረ፣፡ ወይትሐፀኑ፡ እጐሊሆሙ፡ ኅቡረ፤ ወይቀምሕ፡ አንበሳ፡ ሐሠረ፡ ከመ፡ ላህም።
The cow and the bear will graze. Their young ones will lie down together. The lion will eat straw like the ox.
11:8
וְשִֽׁעֲשַׁ֥ע יוֹנֵ֖ק עַל־חֻ֣ר פָּ֑תֶן וְעַל֙ מְאוּרַ֣ת צִפְעוֹנִ֔י גָּמ֖וּל יָד֥וֹ הָדָֽה׃
καὶ παιδίον νήπιον ἐπὶ τρώγλην ἀσπίδων καὶ ἐπὶ κοίτην ἐκγόνων ἀσπίδων τὴν χεῖρα ἐπιβαλεῖ
Et delectabitur infans ab ubere super foramine aspidis ; et in caverna reguli qui ablactatus fuerit manum suam mittet.
ወይወዲ፡ እዴሁ፡ ሕፃን፡ ንስቲት፡ ውስተ፡ ግበ፡ አርዌ፡ ምድር፤ ወውስተ፡ ግበበ፡ አፍዖት።
The nursing child will play near a cobra’s hole, and the weaned child will put his hand on the viper’s den.
11:9
לֹא־יָרֵ֥עוּ וְלֹֽא־יַשְׁחִ֖יתוּ בְּכׇל־הַ֣ר קׇדְשִׁ֑י כִּֽי־מָלְאָ֣ה הָאָ֗רֶץ דֵּעָה֙ אֶת־יְהֹוָ֔ה כַּמַּ֖יִם לַיָּ֥ם מְכַסִּֽים׃ {ס}
καὶ οὐ μὴ κακοποιήσωσιν οὐδὲ μὴ δύνωνται ἀπολέσαι οὐδένα ἐπὶ τὸ ὄρος τὸ ἅγιόν μου ὅτι ἐνεπλήσθη ἡ σύμπασα τοῦ γνῶναι τὸν κύριον ὡς ὕδωρ πολὺ κατακαλύψαι θαλάσσας
Non nocebunt, et non occident in universo monte sancto meo, quia repleta est terra scientia Domini, sicut aquae maris operientes.
ወአልቦ፡ ዘይነክዮ፡ ወኢይክል፡ አሕሥሞ፡ ላዕሌሁ፡ ወኢላዕለ፡ መኑሂ፡ በደብረ፡ መቅደስየ፤ እስመ፡ መልአ፡ ላዕለ፡ ኵሉ፡ አእምሮ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ከመ፡ ማይ፡ ብዙኅ፡ ዘይደፍን፡ ባህረ።
They will not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain; for the earth will be full of the knowledge of Yahweh, as the waters cover the sea.
11:10
וְהָיָה֙ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֔וּא שֹׁ֣רֶשׁ יִשַׁ֗י אֲשֶׁ֤ר עֹמֵד֙ לְנֵ֣ס עַמִּ֔ים אֵלָ֖יו גּוֹיִ֣ם יִדְרֹ֑שׁוּ וְהָיְתָ֥ה מְנֻחָת֖וֹ כָּבֽוֹד׃ {פ}
καὶ ἔσται ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ ἡ ῥίζα τοῦ Ιεσσαι καὶ ὁ ἀνιστάμενος ἄρχειν ἐθνῶν ἐπ’ αὐτῷ ἔθνη ἐλπιοῦσιν καὶ ἔσται ἡ ἀνάπαυσις αὐτοῦ τιμή
In die illa radix Jesse, qui stat in signum populorum, ipsum gentes deprecabuntur, et erit sepulchrum ejus gloriosum.
ወይቀውም፡ ይእተ፡ አሚረ፡ ሥርወ፡ እሴይ፡ ወዘተሠይመ፡ ይከውን፡ መልአከ፡ አህዛብ፤ ወይትዌከሉ፡ ቦቱ፡ አሕዛብ፤ ወይከውን፡ ምዕራፈ፡ ዘዚአሁ፡ ክብር።
It will happen in that day that the nations will seek the root of Jesse, who stands as a banner of the peoples; and his resting place will be glorious.
11:11
וְהָיָ֣ה׀ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֗וּא יוֹסִ֨יף אֲדֹנָ֤י׀שֵׁנִית֙ יָד֔וֹ לִקְנ֖וֹת אֶת־שְׁאָ֣ר עַמּ֑וֹ אֲשֶׁ֣ר יִשָּׁאֵר֩ מֵאַשּׁ֨וּר וּמִמִּצְרַ֜יִם וּמִפַּתְר֣וֹס וּמִכּ֗וּשׁ וּמֵעֵילָ֤ם וּמִשִּׁנְעָר֙ וּמֵ֣חֲמָ֔ת וּמֵאִיֵּ֖י הַיָּֽם׃
καὶ ἔσται τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ προσθήσει κύριος τοῦ δεῖξαι τὴν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ τοῦ ζηλῶσαι τὸ καταλειφθὲν ὑπόλοιπον τοῦ λαοῦ ὃ ἂν καταλειφθῇ ἀπὸ τῶν Ἀσσυρίων καὶ ἀπὸ Αἰγύπτου καὶ Βαβυλωνίας καὶ Αἰθιοπίας καὶ ἀπὸ Αιλαμιτῶν καὶ ἀπὸ ἡλίου ἀνατολῶν καὶ ἐξ Ἀραβίας
Et erit in die illa : adjiciet Dominus secundo manum suam ad possidendum residuum populi sui, quod relinquetur ab Assyriis, et ab Aegypto, et a Phetros, et ab Aethiopia, et ab Aelam, et a Sennaar, et ab Emath, et ab insulis maris.
ወይእተ፡ አሚረ፡ ይደግም፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ አርእዮ፡ እዴሁ፤ ከመ፡ ይቅናእ፡ ተረፈ፡ እለ፡ ተርፉ፡ እምአሕዛብ፡ ዘአትረፉ፡ ፋርስ፡ ወግብጽ፡ ወባቢሎን፡ ወኢትዮጵያ፡ ወኢላሜጦን፡ ወእምሥራቀ፡ ፀሐይ፡ ወእምዕራብ።
It will happen in that day that the Lord will set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant that is left of his people from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Cush, from Elam, from Shinar, from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
11:12
וְנָשָׂ֥א נֵס֙ לַגּוֹיִ֔ם וְאָסַ֖ף נִדְחֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וּנְפֻצ֤וֹת יְהוּדָה֙ יְקַבֵּ֔ץ מֵאַרְבַּ֖ע כַּנְפ֥וֹת הָאָֽרֶץ׃
καὶ ἀρεῖ σημεῖον εἰς τὰ ἔθνη καὶ συνάξει τοὺς ἀπολομένους Ισραηλ καὶ τοὺς διεσπαρμένους τοῦ Ιουδα συνάξει ἐκ τῶν τεσσάρων πτερύγων τῆς γῆς
Et levabit signum in nationes, et congregabit profugos Israël, et dispersos Juda colliget a quatuor plagis terrae.
ወያርኢ፡ ትእምርተ፡ ለአሕዛብ፡ ወያስተጋብኦሙ፡ ለእለ፡ ተርፉ፡ እስራኤል፤ ወለእለ፡ ተዘርዉ፡ ይሁዳ፡ ያስተጋብኦሙ፡ እምአርባዕቱ፡ አጽናፈ፡ ምድር።
He will set up a banner for the nations, and will assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
11:13
וְסָ֙רָה֙ קִנְאַ֣ת אֶפְרַ֔יִם וְצֹרְרֵ֥י יְהוּדָ֖ה יִכָּרֵ֑תוּ אֶפְרַ֙יִם֙ לֹא־יְקַנֵּ֣א אֶת־יְהוּדָ֔ה וִיהוּדָ֖ה לֹא־יָצֹ֥ר אֶת־אֶפְרָֽיִם׃
καὶ ἀφαιρεθήσεται ὁ ζῆλος Εφραιμ καὶ οἱ ἐχθροὶ Ιουδα ἀπολοῦνται Εφραιμ οὐ ζηλώσει Ιουδαν καὶ Ιουδας οὐ θλίψει Εφραιμ
Et auferetur zelus Ephraim, et hostes Juda peribunt ; Ephraim non aemulabitur Judam, et Judas non pugnabit contra Ephraim.
ወይሠዐር፡ ቅንአተ፡ ኤፍሬም፡ ወትጠፍኡ፡ ፀረ፡ ይሁዳ።
The envy also of Ephraim will depart, and those who persecute Judah will be cut off. Ephraim won’t envy Judah, and Judah won’t persecute Ephraim.
11:14
וְעָפ֨וּ בְכָתֵ֤ף פְּלִשְׁתִּים֙ יָ֔מָּה יַחְדָּ֖ו יָבֹ֣זּוּ אֶת־בְּנֵי־קֶ֑דֶם אֱד֤וֹם וּמוֹאָב֙ מִשְׁל֣וֹחַ יָדָ֔ם וּבְנֵ֥י עַמּ֖וֹן מִשְׁמַעְתָּֽם׃
καὶ πετασθήσονται ἐν πλοίοις ἀλλοφύλων θάλασσαν ἅμα προνομεύσουσιν καὶ τοὺς ἀφ’ ἡλίου ἀνατολῶν καὶ Ιδουμαίαν καὶ ἐπὶ Μωαβ πρῶτον τὰς χεῖρας ἐπιβαλοῦσιν οἱ δὲ υἱοὶ Αμμων πρῶτοι ὑπακούσονται
Et volabunt in humeros Philisthiim per mare, simul praedabuntur filios orientis ; Idumaea et Moab praeceptum manus eorum, et filii Ammon obedientes erunt.
ወይሰርሩ፡ በአሕማረ፡ ኢሎፍሊ፤ እንተ፡ ባሕር፡ ይመሀርኩ፡ ኅቡረ፣፡ እለ፡ እምሥራቀ፡ ፀሐይ፡ ወኢዶምያ፣፡ ወይቀድሙ፡ ያውርዱ፡ እዴሆሙ፡ ዲበ፡ ሞአብ፤ ወይቀድሙ፡ ደቂቀ፡ አሞን፡ ይግረሩ።
They will fly down on the shoulders of the Philistines on the west. Together they will plunder the children of the east. They will extend their power over Edom and Moab, and the children of Ammon will obey them.
11:15
וְהֶחֱרִ֣ים יְהֹוָ֗ה אֵ֚ת לְשׁ֣וֹן יָם־מִצְרַ֔יִם וְהֵנִ֥יף יָד֛וֹ עַל־הַנָּהָ֖ר בַּעְיָ֣ם רוּח֑וֹ וְהִכָּ֙הוּ֙ לְשִׁבְעָ֣ה נְחָלִ֔ים וְהִדְרִ֖יךְ בַּנְּעָלִֽים׃
καὶ ἐρημώσει κύριος τὴν θάλασσαν Αἰγύπτου καὶ ἐπιβαλεῖ τὴν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τὸν ποταμὸν πνεύματι βιαίῳ καὶ πατάξει ἑπτὰ φάραγγας ὥστε διαπορεύεσθαι αὐτὸν ἐν ὑποδήμασιν
Et desolabit Dominus linguam maris Aegypti, et levabit manum suam super flumen in fortitudine spiritus sui ; et percutiet eum in septem rivis, ita ut transeant per eum calceati.
ወያነፅፋ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ለባሕረ፡ ግብጽ፡ ወያመጽእ፡ እዴሁ፡ ላዕለ፡ ፈለግ፡ በነፍስ፡ ኃይል፡ ወይቀሥፍ፡ ሰብዐተ፡ ቈላተ፡ ከመ፡ ይሖርዎን፡ በአሣእን።
Yahweh will utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his scorching wind he will wave his hand over the River, and will split it into seven streams, and cause men to march over in sandals.
11:16
וְהָיְתָ֣ה מְסִלָּ֔ה לִשְׁאָ֣ר עַמּ֔וֹ אֲשֶׁ֥ר יִשָּׁאֵ֖ר מֵאַשּׁ֑וּר כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר הָֽיְתָה֙ לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל בְּי֥וֹם עֲלֹת֖וֹ מֵאֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃
καὶ ἔσται δίοδος τῷ καταλειφθέντι μου λαῷ ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ καὶ ἔσται τῷ Ισραηλ ὡς ἡ ἡμέρα ὅτε ἐξῆλθεν ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου
Et erit via residuo populo meo qui relinquetur ab Assyriis, sicut fuit Israëli in die illa qua ascendit de terra Aegypti.
ወይከውን፡ መጽያሕተ፡ ለሕዝብየ፡ እለ፡ ተርፉ፡ ውስተ፡ ግብጽ፤ ወይከውኖሙ፡ ለእስራኤል፡ ከመ፡ አመ፡ ወፅኡ፡ እምግብጽ።
There will be a highway for the remnant that is left of his people from Assyria, like there was for Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt.
