5:1
ወአውሥአ ፡ ጦብያ ፡ ወይቤ ፡ እገብር ፡ አባ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ዘአዘዝከኒ ።
Then Tobias answered and said to him, “Father, I will do all things, whatever you have commanded me.
託比亞回答父親說：「父親，凡你所吩咐我的，我都必照辦。
5:2
ወባሕቱ ፡ እፎ ፡ እክል ፡ ነሢኦቶ ፡ ለውእቱ ፡ ብሩር ፡ ዘኢየአምሮ ።
But how could I receive the money, since I don’t know him?”
只是我素不認識那人，怎能取回那銀子呢？」
5:3
ወወሀቦ ፡ መጽሐፈ ፡ ወይቤሎ ፡ ኅሥሥ ፡ ብእሴ ፡ ዘየሐውር ፡ ምስሌከ ፡ ወእሁቦ ፡ አስቦ ፡ እንዘ ፡ ሕያው ፡ አነ ፡ ወሑር ፡ ንሣእ ፡ ዘንተ ፡ ብሩረ ።
He gave him the handwriting, and said to him, “Seek a man who will go with you, and I will give him wages, whiles I yet live; and go and receive the money.”
父親便把那字據交給他，對他說：「你去尋找一個能與你同去的人，趁我還活著，我必給他工錢；你去把那銀子取回來。」
5:4
ወሖረ ፡ ይኅሥሥ ፡ ሎቱ ፡ ብእሴ ፡ ወረከቦ ፡ ለሩፋኤል ፡ መልአክ ፡ ወኢያእመሮ ፡ ከመ ፡ መልአክ ፡ ውእቱ ።
He went to seek a man, and found Raphael who was an angel;
託比亞出去尋找人，恰好遇見了拉斐爾，他原是天使，
5:5
ወይቤሎ ፡ ትክልኑ ፡ ሐዊረ ፡ ምስሌየ ፡ ራጊስ ፡ ዘሜዶን ፡ እመ ፡ ተአምር ፡ ብሔሮ ።
and he didn’t know it. He said to him, “Can I go with you to Rages of Media? Do you know those places well?”
託比亞卻不知道。他對拉斐爾說：「我能與你同往瑪待的辣革斯去嗎？那些地方你熟悉嗎？」
5:6
ወይቤሎ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ መልአክ ፡ አሐውር ፡ ምስሌከ ፡ ወፍኖቶሂ ፡ አአምር ፡ ወኀበ ፡ ገባኤልሂ ፡ ነበርኩ ።
The angel said to him, “I will go with you. I know the way well. I have lodged with our brother Gabael.”
天使對他說：「我必與你同去。那條路我很熟悉，我曾在我們的弟兄加巴耳家裡住宿過。」
5:7
ወይቤሎ ፡ ጦብያ ፡ ጽንሐኒ ፡ ከመ ፡ እንግሮ ፡ ለአቡየ ፡ ጦቢት ።
Tobias said to him, “Wait for me, and I will tell my father.”
託比亞對他說：「請你等我，我去告訴我父親。」
5:8
ወይቤሎ ፡ ሑር ፡ ኢትጐንዲ ፡ ወሖረ ፡ ወይቤሎ ፡ ለአቡሁ ፡ ነዋ ፡ ረከብኩ ፡ ዘየሐውር ፡ ምስሌየ ፡ ወይቤሎ ፡ ጸውዖ ፡ ኀቤየ ፡ ከመ ፡ አእምር ፡ እምአይ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ወእመ ፡ ማእምን ፡ ለሐዊር ፡ ምስሌከ ።
He said to him, “Go, and don’t wait. And he went in and said to his father, “Behold, I have found someone who will go with me.” But he said, “Call him to me, that I may know of what tribe he is, and whether he be a trustworthy man to go with you.”
他說：「你去吧，不要耽延。」託比亞便進去對父親說：「看哪，我已找到一個能與我同去的人。」父親說：「你把他叫來見我，好讓我知道他屬哪一支派，是否可靠堪與你同行。」
5:9
ወጸውዖ ፡ ወቦአ ፡ ወተአምኁ ፡ በበይናቲሆሙ ።
So he called him, and he came in, and they saluted one another.
於是託比亞把他叫來，他進來後，二人彼此問安。
5:10
ወይቤሎ ፡ ጦቢት ፡ አንተ ፡ እኁየ ፡ እምአይ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ አንተ ፡ ወእምአይ ፡ ብሔር ፡ አንተ ።
And Tobit said to him, “Brother, of what tribe and of what family are you? Tell me.”
託彼特對他說：「弟兄，你屬哪一支派？出於哪一家族？請告訴我。」
5:11
ወይቤሎ ፡ መልአክ ፡ ሕዝብየኑ ፡ ወብሔርየኑ ፡ ተኃሥሥ ፡ አው ፡ አስቦ ፡ ዘየሐውር ፡ ምስለ ፡ ወልድከ ፡ ወይቤሎ ፡ ጦቢት ፡ እፈቅድ ፡ አንተ ፡ እኁየ ፡ አእምር ፡ ዘመደከ ፡ ወስመከ ።
He said to him, “Do you seek a tribe and a family, or a hired man which will go with your son?” And Tobit said to him, “I want to know, brother, your kindred and your name.”
他對託彼特說：「你是要尋一個支派、一個家族呢，還是要尋一個受僱與你兒子同行的人呢？」託彼特對他說：「弟兄，我想知道你的家世和你的名字。」
5:12
ወይቤሎ ፡ አንሰ ፡ አዛርያ ፡ ዘመደ ፡ አናንያ ፡ ዓቢይ ፡ እኁከ ።
And he said, “I am Azarias, the son of Ananias the great, of your kindred.”
他說：「我是阿匝黎雅，是大人物阿納尼雅的兒子，與你同族。」
5:13
ወይቤሎ ፡ ዳኅንኑ ፡ አንተ ፡ እኁየ ፡ ወኢትኂሰኒ ፡ እስመ ፡ ኃሠሥኩ ፡ አእምር ፡ ሕዝበከ ፡ ወብሔረከ ፡ ወአማን ፡ ባሕቱ ፡ እምሠናይ ፡ ዘመድ ፡ አንተ ፡ ወቡሩክ ፡ ወአአምሮ ፡ አነ ፡ ለአዛርያ ፡ ደቂቀ ፡ ሴምዩ ፡ ዓቢይ ፡ ወሖርነ ፡ ምስሌሆሙ ፡ ኅቡረ ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም ፡ ከመ ፡ ንስግድ ፡ ወወሰድነ ፡ በኵረነ ፡ ወአሥራተ ፡ እክልነ ፡ ወኢአበስነ ፡ አበሳ ፡ አበዊነ ፡ ወአንተሰ ፡ እምነ ፡ ዓቢይ ፡ ሥርው ፡ አንተ ፡ እኁየ ።
And he said to him, “Welcome, brother. Don’t be angry with me, because I sought to know your tribe and family. You are my brother, of an honest and good lineage; for I knew Ananias and Jathan, the sons of Shemaiah the great, when we went together to Jerusalem to worship, and offered the firstborn, and the tenths of our increase; and they didn’t go went astray in the error of our kindred. My brother, you are of a great stock.
託彼特對他說：「弟兄，歡迎你！不要因我查問你的支派家族而見怪。你原來是我的弟兄，出於誠實高貴的世系。我從前認識舍瑪雅大人的兒子阿納尼雅和約納堂，當年我們一同上耶路撒冷去敬拜，獻上頭生的牲畜和出產的十分之一；他們未曾隨從我們本族的人陷入謬妄。我的弟兄，你出於高貴的世系。
5:14
ወባሕቱ ፡ ንግረኒ ፡ ምንተ ፡ ነሀብ ፡ አስበከ ፡ ድርከመኑ ፡ ለለዕለትከ ፡ ወሲሳይከ ፡ ምስለ ፡ ወልድየ ።
But tell me, what wages shall I give you? A drachma a day, and those things that be necessary for you, as to my son?
但請你告訴我，我該給你多少工錢呢？我願每日給你一個「德拉瑪」，並照我待我兒子一樣供給你一切所需的。
5:15
ወእዌስክ ፡ አስበከ ፡ በዲበ ፡ አስብከ ፡ ለእመ ፡ ዳኅነ ፡ አቶክሙ ።
And moreover, if you both return safe and sound, I will add something to your wages.”
再者，你們二人若都平安歸來，我必在你的工錢上再加添些。」
5:16
ወአኅለቁ ፡ ከመዝ ፡ ወይቤሎ ፡ ጦቢት ፡ ለጦብያ ፡ ወልዱ ፡ ተደለው ፡ ከመ ፡ ትሑር ፡ ወተሠርሑ ፡ ወአስተዳለወ ፡ ወልዱ ፡ ስንቆሙ ፡ ለፍኖት ፡ ወይቤሎ ፡ አቡሁ ፡ ሑር ፡ ምስለ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ብእሲ ፡ ወእግዚአብሔር ፡ ዘይነብር ፡ ውስተ ፡ ሰማይ ፡ ይሠርሕ ፡ ፍኖተክሙ ፡ ወመልአኩ ፡ ይሑር ፡ ምስሌክሙ ፡ ወወጽኡ ፡ ክልኤሆሙ ፡ ወሖሩ ፡ ወተለዎሙ ፡ ከልበ ፡ ወልዶሙ ።
And so they agreed. And he said to Tobias, “Prepare yourself for the journey. May God prosper you.” So his son prepared what was needful for the journey, and his father said to him, “Go with this man; but God, who dwells in heaven, will prosper your journey. May his angel go with you.” Then they both departed, and the young man’s dog went with them.
於是他們講定了。託彼特對託比亞說：「你預備好上路罷，願神使你一路順利。」他的兒子便預備了路上所需的物件，父親又對他說：「你與這人同去吧，願那住在天上的神使你的路途亨通，願他的天使與你同行。」於是二人就出發了，那少年人的狗也隨著他們去。
5:17
ወበከየት ፡ ሐና ፡ እሙ ፡ ወትቤሎ ፡ ለጦቢት ፡ ለምንት ፡ ፈነውኮ ፡ ለወልድየ ፡ አኮኑ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ በትርነ ፡ እንተ ፡ ውስተ ፡ እዴነ ፡ ዘይወጽእ ፡ ቅድሜነ ።
But Anna his mother wept, and said to Tobit, “Why have you sent away our child? Isn’t he the staff of our hand, in going in and out before us?
他的母親安納卻哭了，對託彼特說：「你為何打發我們的孩子去呢？他不是我們手中的扶杖、在我們面前進進出出的嗎？
5:18
ብሩር ፡ ለይጥፋዕ ።
Don’t be greedy to add money to money; but let it be as refuse compared to our child.
不要貪心要錢上加錢；與我們的孩子相比，錢財不過如同糞土。
5:19
ወቤዛሁ ፡ ለወልድየ ፡ ይኩን ፡ ዘወሀበነ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ዘቦቱ ፡ ነሐዩ ።
For what the Lord has given us to live is enough for us.”
主賜給我們餬口的，於我們已經足夠了。」
5:20
ወይቤላ ፡ ኢትትኃለፊ ፡ እኅትየ ፡ ዳኅነ ፡ የአቱ ፡ ወትሬኢይዮ ፡ በአዕይ ፡ ንትኪ ።
Tobit said to her, “Don’t worry, my sister. He will return safe and sound, and your eyes will see him.
託彼特對她說：「我的姊妹，不要憂慮。他必平安歸來，你的眼必親見他。
5:21
እስመ ፡ መልአከ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ የሐውር ፡ ቅድሜሁ ፡ ወይሤርሕ ፡ ፍኖቶ ፡ ወየአቱ ፡ ዳኅነ ፡ ወኃደገት ፡ ብካየ ፡ ሐና ።
For a good angel will go with him. His journey will be prospered, and he will return safe and sound.”
因為有一位良善的天使要與他同行，他的路途必蒙亨通，他必平安歸來。」
