Μετὰ δὲ τοὺς Χαλδαίους τὰ Φοινίκων οὕτως ἔχει. Γεγόνασιν παρ αὐτοῖς τρεῖς ἄνδρες, Θεόδοτος, Ὑψικράτης, Μῶχος· τούτων τὰς βίβλους εἰς ἑλληνίδα κατέταξεν φωνὴν Χαῖτος, ὁ καὶ τοὺς βίους τῶν φιλοσόφων ἐπ ἀκριβὲς πραγματευσάμενος. Ἐν δὲ ταῖς τῶν προειρημένων δηλοῦται ἱστορίαις κατά τινα τῶν βασιλέων Εὐρώπης ἁρπαγὴν γεγονέναι, Μενελάου τε εἰς τὴν Φοινίκην ἄφιξις, καὶ τὰ περὶ Χείραμον, ὅστις Σολομῶνι τῷ Ἰουδαίων βασιλεῖ πρὸς γάμον δοὺς τὴν θυγατέρα καὶ ξύλων παντοδαπῶν ὕλην εἰς τὴν τοῦ ναοῦ κατασκευὴν ἐδωρήσατο. Καὶ Μένανδρος δὲ ὁ Περγαμηνὸς περὶ τῶν αὐτῶν τὴν ἀναγραφὴν ἐποιήσατο.Τοῦ δὲ Χειράμου ὁ χρόνος ἤδη που τοῖς Ἰλιακοῖς ἐγγίζει· Σολομὼν δὲ ὁ κατὰ Χείραμον πολὺ κατώτερός ἐστι τῆς Μωυσέως ἡλικίας

And after the Chaldaeans, the affairs of the Phoenicians are as follows. There have been among them three men, Theodotus, Hypsicrates, and Mochus; their books were arranged into the Greek tongue by Chaetus, who also treated the lives of the philosophers with accuracy. And in the histories of the aforesaid men it is shown that there came about, in the time of one of the kings, the seizure of Europa, and the arrival of Menelaus in Phoenicia, and the affairs concerning Hiram, who, giving his daughter in marriage to Solomon king of the Jews, also presented him with material of all kinds of timber for the construction of the temple. And Menander of Pergamum too made the record concerning the same matters. And the time of Hiram now approaches close to the Trojan events; but Solomon, who lived in the time of Hiram, is much later than the age of Moses.
