2:1
ወኤርምያስ፡ ሶቤሃ፡ ሠጠጠ፡ አልባሲሁ፡ ወወደየ፡ ሐመደ፡ ዲበ፡ ርእሱ፡ ወቦአ፡ ውስተ፡ ቤተ፡ መቅደስ።
Then Jeremiah ran and announced these things to Baruch, and when they had come into the house of God, Jeremiah tore his garments and put dust upon his head, and entered into the sanctuary of God.
耶利米就跑去，把這些話告訴巴錄。他們進了神的殿，耶利米撕裂衣服，把塵土撒在頭上，進入神的聖所。
2:2
ወኤርምያስ፡ ሶቤሃ፡ ሠጠጠ፡ አልባሲሁ፡ ወወደየ፡ ሐመደ፡ ዲበ፡ ርእሱ፡ ወቦአ፡ ውስተ፡ ቤተ፡ መቅደስ።
And when Baruch saw him with dust strewn upon his head and his garments torn, he cried out with a loud voice, saying: Father Jeremiah, what is the matter with you, or what sin has the people committed?
巴錄見他頭上撒著塵土，衣服撕裂，就放聲大哭說：「耶利米父啊，你怎麼了？百姓犯了甚麼罪呢？」
2:3
ወርእዮ፡ ባሮክ፡ ለኤርምያስ፡ እንዘ፡ ምሉእ፡ መሬተ፡ ዲበ፡ ርእሱ፡ ወአልባሲሁኒ፡ ሥጡጥ፡ ጸርኀ፡ በዐቢይ፡ ቃል፡ አንዘ፡ ይብል፡ አቡየ፡ ኤርምያስ፡ ምንተ፡ ኮንከ፡ ወአየ፡ ኀጢአተ፡ ገብሩ፡ ሕዝብ።
For whenever the people sinned, Jeremiah would strew dust upon his head and pray for the people, until the sin was forgiven.
原來每逢百姓犯罪，耶利米就把塵土撒在頭上，為百姓禱告，直到罪得赦免。
2:4
እስመ፡ ሶበ፡ ይኤብሱ፡ ሕዝብ፡ የሐዝን፡ ኤርምያስ፡ ወይወዲ፡ ሐመደ፡ ዲበ፡ ርእሱ፡ ወይጼሊ፡ በእንተ፡ ሕዝብ፡ እስከ፡ ይትኀደግ፡ ሎሙ፡ አበሳሆሙ፡ ለሕዝብ።
And Baruch asked him, saying: Father, what is this?
巴錄問他說：「父啊，這是甚麼意思呢？」
2:5
ወተስእሎ፡ ባሮክ፡ እንዘ፡ ይብል፡ አቡየ፡ ኤርምያስ፡ ምንተ፡ ኮንከ፡ ወምንተ፡ ኮኑ፡ ሕዝብ።
And Jeremiah said to him: Refrain from tearing your garments; rather let us tear our hearts. And let us not draw water for the troughs, but let us weep and fill them with tears; for the Lord will not have mercy on this people.
耶利米對他說：「不要撕裂你的衣服，倒要撕裂我們的心。我們不要打水盛在槽裡，乃要哭泣，用眼淚把它們充滿；因為主必不憐恤這百姓。」
2:6
ወይቤሎ፡ ኤርምያስ፡ ዕቀብ፡ ከመ፡ ኢንሥጥጥ፡ አልባሲነ፡ አላ፡ ንሥጥጥ፡ አልባቢነ፡ ወኢ፡ ንደይ፡ ማየ፡ ውስተ፡ ምዕቃላት፡ ከመ፡ ንብኪ፡ ርቱዐ፡ እስከ፡ ንመልኦሙ፡ አንብዐ፡ እስመ፡ እምይእዜ፡ ኢይምሐርዎ፡ ለዝ፡ ሕዝብ።
And Baruch said: Father Jeremiah, what has happened?
巴錄說：「耶利米父啊，發生了甚麼事呢？」
2:7
ውይቤ፡ ባሮክ፡ አቡየ፡ ኤርምያስ፡ ምንተ፡ ኮንከ፤ ወይቤሎ፡ ኤርምያስ፡ እስመ፡ አምላክ፡ ይሜጥዋ፡ ለሀገር፡ ውስተ፡ እዴሁ፡ ለንጉሠ፡ ከላዴዎን፡ እስመ፡ ይፄውዎሙ፡ ለሕዝብ፡ በእኪት።
And Jeremiah said: God is delivering the city into the hands of the king of the Chaldeans, to carry the people captive to Babylon.
耶利米說：「神要把這城交在迦勒底王的手中，將百姓擄到巴比倫去。」
2:8
ወሰሚዖ፡ ዘንተ፡ ኵሎ፡ ባሮክ፡ ሠጠጠ፡ አልባሲሁ፡ ወይቤ፡ አቡየ፡ ኤርምያስ፡ ምንተ፡ ለአኩ፡ ለከ።
And when Baruch heard these things, he also tore his garments and said: Father Jeremiah, who revealed this to you?
巴錄聽見這話，也撕裂自己的衣服，說：「耶利米父啊，誰把這事指示你的呢？」
2:9
ወይቤሎ፡ ኤርምያስ፡ ጽናሕ፡ ምስሌየ፡ እስከ፡ ስድስቱ፡ ሰዐት፡ ዘሌሊት፡ ከመ፡ ታእምር፡ ዘአማን፡ ነገር።
And Jeremiah said to him: Wait a little with me until the sixth hour of the night, that you may know that this word is true.
耶利米對他說：「你同我稍等片時，直到夜間三更，你就知道這話是真的。」
2:10
ውነበሩ፡ ቤተ፡ መቅደስ፡ እንዘ፡ ይበክዩ።
So they both remained at the altar weeping, and their garments were torn.
於是他們二人留在祭壇旁哭泣，衣服都撕裂了。
