6:1
ወልድየ፡ እመ፡ ተኀበይኮ፡ ለዓርክከ፡ ትሁብ፡ እዴከ፡ ለእድው።
我兒,你若為朋友作保, 替外人擊掌,
My son, if you have become collateral for your neighbor, if you have struck your hands in pledge for a stranger,
6:2
ወሥገርት፡ ጽኑዕ፡ ውስተ፡ ከናፍሪሁ፡ ለብእሲ፡ ወይትኃጐል፡ በከናፍረ፡ አፉሁ።
你就被口中的話語纏住, 被嘴裏的言語捉住。
you are trapped by the words of your mouth; you are ensnared with the words of your mouth.
6:3
ግበር፡ ወልድየ፡ ዘአነ፡ እኤዝዘከ፡ ወኄረዓል፡ እስመ፡ እመጻእከ፡ ውስተ፡ እደው፡ እኩያን፡ በእንተ፡ ዓርክከ፡ ኩን፡ ኢተሀካዬ፡ ወወሀኮ፡ ለዓርክከ፡ ዘተሀበይኮ።
我兒,你既落在朋友手中, 就當這樣行才可救自己: 你要自卑,去懇求你的朋友。
Do this now, my son, and deliver yourself, since you have come into the hand of your neighbor. Go, humble yourself. Press your plea with your neighbor.
6:4
ወኢተሀቦን፡ ንዋመ፡ ለአዕይንቲከ፡ ወኢድቃሰ፡ ለቀራንብቲከ።
不要容你的眼睛睡覺; 不要容你的眼皮打盹。
Give no sleep to your eyes, nor slumber to your eyelids.
6:5
ከመ፡ ትድኃን፡ ከመ፡ ወይጠል፡ እመሥገርት፡ ወከመ፡ ዖፍ፡ እመጽፈርት።
要救自己,如鹿脫離獵戶的手, 如鳥脫離捕鳥人的手。
Free yourself, like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter, like a bird from the snare of the fowler.
6:6
ተመየጥ፡ ኀበ፡ ቃሕም፡ ኦ፡ ሀካይ፡ ወኢትኩን፡ ሀካየ፡ ወቅናእ፡ ርእየከ፡ ፍናዊሁ፡ ወኩን፡ ጠቢበ፡ እምኔሁ።
懶惰人哪, 你去察看螞蟻的動作就可得智慧。
Go to the ant, you sluggard. Consider her ways, and be wise;
6:7
ወውእቱ፡ እንዘ፡ ወፍር፡ አልቦ፡ ወዘሂ፡ አልቦ፡ ዘያጌብሮ፡ ወእንዘ፡ እግዚእ፡ አልቦ፡ ያስተጋብእ፡ በሐጋይ፡ ሲሳዮ፡ ብዙኀ፡ አመ፡ ማእረር፡ ወይትጌበር፡ ዘያነብር።
螞蟻沒有元帥, 沒有官長,沒有君王,
which having no chief, overseer, or ruler,
6:8
አው፡ ሑር፡ ኀበ፡ ንኅብ፡ ወአእምር፡ ከመ፡ መስተገብርት፡ ይእቲ፡ ወትግብርታሂ፡ ከመ፡ ሠናየ፡ ትገብር፡ እንተ፡ ፃማሃ፡ ነገሥት፡ ዓብዳን፡ ይነሥኡ፡ ለሕይወት፡ እንተ፡ ትትፈቅድ፡ ይእቲ፡ በኀበ፡ ኵሉ፡ ወክብርት፡ ይእቲ፡ ወበኃይል፡ ጽብስት፡ ወበግብራሰ፡ ጽንዕት።
尚且在夏天預備食物, 在收割時聚斂糧食。
provides her bread in the summer, and gathers her food in the harvest.
6:9
ጥበበ፡ አክቢራ፡ አስተርአየት፡ እስከ፡ ማእዜኑ፡ ሀካይ፡ ትሰክብ፡ ወማእዜ፡ እምንዋምከ፡ ትነቅሕ።
懶惰人哪,你要睡到幾時呢? 你何時睡醒呢?
How long will you sleep, sluggard? When will you arise out of your sleep?
6:10
ሕቀ፡ ትነውም፡ ወሕቀ፡ ትነብር፡ ሕቀ፡ ትዴቅስ፡ ወሕቀ፡ ታስተጋብእ፡ እዴከ፡ ዲበ፡ እንግድዓከ።
再睡片時,打盹片時, 抱着手躺臥片時,
A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep—
6:11
ወእምዝ፡ ይመጽእከ፡ ግብተ፡ ከመ፡ እኩይ፡ ሐዋርያ፡ ንዴት፡ ወተፅናስ፡ ከመ፡ ኄር፡ ረዋጺ።
你的貧窮就必如強盜速來, 你的缺乏彷彿拿兵器的人來到。
so your poverty will come as a robber, and your scarcity as an armed man.
6:12
ወእመሰ፡ ኢኮንከ፡ ሀካየ፡ ይመጽአከ፡ ከመ፡ ነቅዕ፡ ማእረርከ፡ ወንዴትሰ፡ ከመ፡ እኩይ፡ ረዋጺ፡ ለሊሁ፡ ይርኅቅ፡ እምኔከ።
無賴的惡徒, 行動就用乖僻的口,
A worthless person, a man of iniquity, is he who walks with a perverse mouth,
6:13
ብእሲ፡ ዓብድ፡ ወዓማፂ፡ የሐውር፡ ፍናወ፡ ዘኢኮና፡ ኄራተ፡ ወውእቱ፡ ይቀጽብ፡ በዓይን፡ ወያኤምር፡ በእግር፡ ወያኤምር፡ በቅጽበተ፡ አፃብዕ።
用眼傳神, 用腳示意, 用指點劃,
who winks with his eyes, who signals with his feet, who motions with his fingers,
6:14
ወዕሉት፡ ልብ፡ ትሔሊ፡ እኩየ፡ በኵሉ፡ ጊዜ፡ ዘከመዝ፡ ያመጽእ፡ ሀከከ፡ ላዕለ፡ ሀገር።
心中乖僻, 常設惡謀, 布散紛爭。
in whose heart is perverseness, who devises evil continually, who always sows discord.
6:15
ወእንቲአሁ፡ ይመጽእ፡ ግብተ፡ ሕጒለት፡ ወዝብጠት፡ ወቅጥቃጤ፡ ዘኢየሐዩ።
所以,災難必忽然臨到他身; 他必頃刻敗壞,無法可治。
Therefore his calamity will come suddenly. He will be broken suddenly, and that without remedy.
6:16
እስመ፡ ይትፌሣሕ፡ በኵሉ፡ ዘይጸልእ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወይትቀጠቀጥ፡ በእንተ፡ ርኵሰ፡ ነፍሱ።
耶和華所恨惡的有六樣, 連他心所憎惡的共有七樣:
There are six things which Yahweh hates; yes, seven which are an abomination to him:
6:17
ናሁ፡ ስሱ፡ ዘይጸልእ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወሳብዖምሰ፡ ሰቆራረ፡ ነፍሱ።
就是高傲的眼, 撒謊的舌, 流無辜人血的手,
arrogant eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood,
6:18
ዓይነ፡ ጸአሌ፡ ወልሳነ፡ ዓማፄ፡ ወእደ፡ ዘይክዑ፡ ደመ፡ ጻድቅ።
圖謀惡計的心, 飛跑行惡的腳,
a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are swift in running to mischief,
6:19
ወልበ፡ እንተ፡ ትወልድ፡ እኩየ፡ ሕሊና፡ ወአእጋረ፡ እለ፡ ይትወላወላ፡ ለገቢረ፡ እከይ።
吐謊言的假見證, 並弟兄中布散紛爭的人。
a false witness who utters lies, and he who sows discord among brothers.
6:20
ወዘያነድድ፡ ስምዐ፡ ዓማፂ፡ ወይፌኑ፡ ጋእዘ፡ ማእከለ፡ አኀው።
我兒,要謹守你父親的誡命; 不可離棄你母親的法則 ,
My son, keep your father’s commandment, and don’t forsake your mother’s teaching.
6:21
ዕቀብ፡ ወልድየ፡ ሕገገ፡ አቡከ፡ ወኢትትኀየይ፡ ትእዛዘ፡ እምከ።
要常繫在你心上, 掛在你項上。
Bind them continually on your heart. Tie them around your neck.
6:22
ደዮ፡ ውስተ፡ ልብከ፡ በኵሉ፡ ጊዜ፡ ወጠብልሎ፡ ውስተ፡ ክሳድከ።
你行走,它必引導你; 你躺臥,它必保守你; 你睡醒,它必與你談論。
When you walk, it will lead you. When you sleep, it will watch over you. When you awake, it will talk with you.
6:23
ወሶበኒ፡ ተሐውር፡ ንሥኦ፡ ምስሌከ፡ ወየሀሉ፡ ወሶበኒ፡ ትነውም፡ የዓቅበከ፡ ወሶበኒ፡ ትትነሣእ፡ ይትናገረከ።
因為誡命是燈,法則 是光, 訓誨的責備是生命的道,
For the commandment is a lamp, and the law is light. Reproofs of instruction are the way of life,
6:24
እስመ፡ ማኅቶት፡ ትእዛዘ፡ ወሕግ፡ ብርሃን፡ ወፍኖተ፡ ሕይወት፡ ተግሣፅ፡ ወትምህርት።
能保你遠離惡婦, 遠離外女諂媚的舌頭。
to keep you from the immoral woman, from the flattery of the wayward wife’s tongue.
6:25
ወልድየ፡ ዕቀብ፡ ትእዛዝየ፡ ከመ፡ ትዕቀብከ፡ እምብእሲተ፡ ብእሲ፡ ወእምውዴተ፡ ልሳን፡ እኩይ።
你心中不要戀慕她的美色, 也不要被她眼皮勾引。
Don’t lust after her beauty in your heart, neither let her captivate you with her eyelids.
6:26
ኢይማዕከ፡ ሥነ፡ ፍትወታ፡ ወኢትሠገር፡ በአዕይንቲሃ፡ ወኢትትመሠጥ፡ በቀራንብቲሃ።
因為,妓女能使人只剩一塊餅; 淫婦獵取人寶貴的生命。
For a prostitute reduces you to a piece of bread. The adulteress hunts for your precious life.
6:27
ፍቅራ፡ ለዘማ፡ እስከ፡ አሐቲ፡ ኅብስት፡ ወብእስትሰ፡ ለእይው፡ ክቡራን፡ ታኀጒል፡ ነፍሶሙ፡ ወታሤግር።
人若懷裏搋火, 衣服豈能不燒呢?
Can a man scoop fire into his lap, and his clothes not be burned?
6:28
መኑ፡ ዘየዓቊር፡ እሳተ፡ ውስተ፡ ኅፅኑ፡ ወአልባሲሁ፡ ኢይውዕያ።
人若在火炭上走, 腳豈能不燙呢?
Or can one walk on hot coals, and his feet not be scorched?
6:29
ወመኑ፡ ዘየሐውር፡ ዲበ፡ አፍሐመ፡ እሳት፡ ወእገሪሁ፡ ኢይውዕያ።
親近鄰舍之妻的,也是如此; 凡挨近她的,不免受罰。
So is he who goes in to his neighbor’s wife. Whoever touches her will not be unpunished.
6:30
ከማሁ፡ ዘይበውእ፡ ቤተ፡ ብእሲተ፡ ብእሲ፡ ኢይነጽሕ፡ ወኵሉ፡ ዘይለክፋ።
賊因飢餓偷竊充飢, 人不藐視他,
Men don’t despise a thief if he steals to satisfy himself when he is hungry,
6:31
አኮ፡ መንክር፡ እመ፡ ተእኀዘ፡ ሰራቂ፡ ዘይሰርቅ፡ እስመ፡ ይሰርቅ፡ ከመ፡ ያጽግብ፡ ነፍሶ፡ ርኅብተ።
若被找着,他必賠還七倍, 必將家中所有的盡都償還。
but if he is found, he shall restore seven times. He shall give all the wealth of his house.
6:32
ወለእመ፡ ተእኅዘ፡ ይፈዲ፡ ምስብዒተ፡ ወኵሎ፡ ጥሪቶ፡ ይሁብ፡ ከመ፡ ያድኅን፡ ነፍሶ።
與婦人行淫的,便是無知; 行這事的,必喪掉生命。
He who commits adultery with a woman is void of understanding. He who does it destroys his own soul.
6:33
ወመሐዝሰ፡ በንዴተ፡ አእምሮ፡ ኀጒለ፡ ነፍሱ፡ ይትጌበር።
他必受傷損,必被凌辱; 他的羞恥不得塗抹。
He will get wounds and dishonor. His reproach will not be wiped away.
6:34
ሕማመ፡ ወኀሣረ፡ ይጼውዕ፡ ወጽእለቱ፡ ኢይደመሰስ፡ ለዓለመ፡ ዓለም።
因為人的嫉恨成了烈怒, 報仇的時候決不留情。
For jealousy arouses the fury of the husband. He won’t spare in the day of vengeance.
6:35
እስመ፡ ምሉዕ፡ ምታ፡ ቅንአተ፡ ወመዓተ፡ ወኢይምሕሮ፡ በዕለተ፡ ኵነኔ።
甚麼贖價,他都不顧; 你雖送許多禮物,他也不肯干休。
He won’t regard any ransom, neither will he rest content, though you give many gifts.
6:36
ወኢይትዌለጥ፡ በምንትኒ፡ ባዛ፡ ጽልእ፡ ወኢይትዓረቆ፡ ወብዙኅ፡ ሀብት።
甚麼贖價,他都不顧; 你雖送許多禮物,他也不肯干休。
He won’t regard any ransom, neither will he rest content, though you give many gifts.
