14:1
ጠባባት፡ አንስት፡ ሐነፃ፡ አብያተ፡ ወዐብዳትሰ፡ ነሠታ፡ አብያቲሆን፡ በእደዊሆን።
智慧婦人建立家室； 愚妄婦人親手拆毀。
Every wise woman builds her house, but the foolish one tears it down with her own hands.
14:2
ዘየሐውር፡ ፍኖተ፡ ርቱዐ፡ ይፈርሆ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር፡ ወዘሰ፡ ያጠዊ፡ ፍኖቶ፡ ይትሜነን።
行動正直的，敬畏耶和華； 行事乖僻的，卻藐視他。
He who walks in his uprightness fears Yahweh, but he who is perverse in his ways despises him.
14:3
እምአፈ፡ ዐብዳን፡ ይወፅእ፡ በትረ፡ ጽእለት፡ ወከናፍረ፡ ጠቢባንሰ፡ ተዓቅቦሙ።
愚妄人口中驕傲，如杖責打己身； 智慧人的嘴必保守自己。
The fool’s talk brings a rod to his back, but the lips of the wise protect them.
14:4
ወእደ፡ አልቦ፡ አልሕምት፡ ምጽንጋዕ፡ ንጹሕ፡ ወእደሰ፡ ብዙኅ፡ እክል፡ ይትዓወቅ፡ እምኃይለ፡ ላሕሙ።
家裏無牛，槽頭乾淨； 土產加多乃憑牛力。
Where no oxen are, the crib is clean, but much increase is by the strength of the ox.
14:5
ስምዐ፡ መሃይምናን፡ ኢይሔሱ፡ ወያነድድ፡ ነፍሰ፡ ሰማዕተ፡ ሐሰት።
誠實見證人不說謊話； 假見證人吐出謊言。
A truthful witness will not lie, but a false witness pours out lies.
14:6
ተኃሥሣ፡ ለጥበብ፡ በኀበ፡ እኩያን፡ ወኢትረክባ፡ ወአእምሮሰ፡ በኀበ፡ ጠቢባን፡ ቀሊል።
褻慢人尋智慧，卻尋不着； 聰明人易得知識。
A scoffer seeks wisdom, and doesn’t find it, but knowledge comes easily to a discerning person.
14:7
ኵሉ፡ ርቱዕ፡ በቅድሜሁ፡ ለብእሲ፡ ዐብድ፡ ወወልታ፡ አእምሮ፡ ከናፍረ፡ ጠቢባን።
到愚昧人面前， 不見他嘴中有知識。
Stay away from a foolish man, for you won’t find knowledge on his lips.
14:8
ጥበብ፡ ለማእምራን፡ ተአምር፡ ፍኖቶሙ፡ ወለእለ፡ ዘእንበለ፡ ልብሰ፡ ውስተ፡ ስሒት፡ ይከውን፡ ፍኖቶሙ።
通達人的智慧在乎明白己道； 愚昧人的愚妄乃是詭詐 。
The wisdom of the prudent is to think about his way, but the folly of fools is deceit.
14:9
አብያቲሆሙ፡ ለኃጥአን፡ ይፈድዩ፡ ለንጹሐን፡ ወአብያተ፡ ጻድቃንሰ፡ ሥሙር።
愚妄人犯罪，以為戲耍 ； 正直人互相喜悅。
Fools mock at making atonement for sins, but among the upright there is good will.
14:10
ልበ፡ ብእሲ፡ ማእምር፡ ኀዘን፡ ለነፍሱ፡ ወሶበሂ፡ ይትፌሣሕ፡ ኢይትሐወሶ፡ ጽልእ።
心中的苦楚，自己知道； 心裏的喜樂，外人無干。
The heart knows its own bitterness and joy; he will not share these with a stranger.
14:11
አብያተ፡ ረሲዐን፡ ይማስኑ፡ ወማኅደረ፡ ራትዓንሰ፡ ይቀውም።
奸惡人的房屋必傾倒； 正直人的帳棚必興盛。
The house of the wicked will be overthrown, but the tent of the upright will flourish.
14:12
ቦ፡ ፍኖት፡ እንተ፡ ትመስል፡ ርትዕተ፡ በኀበ፡ ሰብእ፡ ወደ፡ ኃሪታሰ፡ ታበጽሕ፡ ውስተ፡ ማዕምቅተ፡ ሲኦል።
有一條路，人以為正， 至終成為死亡之路。
There is a way which seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.
14:13
ውስተ፡ ፍሥሓ፡ ኢይዴመር፡ ኃዘን፡ ደኃሪታሰ፡ ለፍሥሓ፡ ውስተ፡ ላህ፡ ትገብእ።
人在喜笑中，心也憂愁； 快樂至極就生愁苦。
Even in laughter the heart may be sorrowful, and mirth may end in heaviness.
14:14
እምፍኖተ፡ ዚአሁ፡ ይመልእ፡ ዕቡየ፡ ልብ፡ ወብእሲ፡ ኄር፡ እምሕሊናሁ፡ ይመልእ፡ በረከተ።
心中背道的，必滿得自己的結果； 善人必從自己的行為得以知足。
The unfaithful will be repaid for his own ways; likewise a good man will be rewarded for his ways.
14:15
የዋህ፡ የአምን፡ ኵሎ፡ ነገረ፡ ማእምር፡ ባሕቱ፡ ይገብእ፡ ውስተ፡ ንስሓ።
愚蒙人是話都信； 通達人步步謹慎。
A simple man believes everything, but the prudent man carefully considers his ways.
14:16
ጠቢብ፡ ፈሪሖ፡ ተግኅሠ፡ እምአኩይ፡ ወዐብድሰ፡ ተአሚኖ፡ ርእሶ፡ ይጸመር፡ ምስለ፡ ዐብዳን።
智慧人懼怕，就遠離惡事； 愚妄人卻狂傲自恃。
A wise man fears and shuns evil, but the fool is hot headed and reckless.
14:17
መዓትም፡ ይገብር፡ ዘእንበለ፡ ምክር፡ ብእሲሰ፡ ጠቢብ፡ ብዙኀ፡ ይትዔገሥ።
輕易發怒的，行事愚妄； 設立詭計的，被人恨惡。
He who is quick to become angry will commit folly, and a crafty man is hated.
14:18
ይትካፈሉ፡ ዓብዳን፡ እከየ፡ ማእምራንሰ፡ ይእኅዝዎ፡ ለጠይቆ።
愚蒙人得愚昧為產業； 通達人得知識為冠冕。
The simple inherit folly, but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
14:19
ይድኅፁ፡ እኩያን፡ በቅድመ፡ ኄራን፡ ወረሲዓንሰ፡ ይትቀነዩ፡ በኆኅተ፡ ጻድቃን።
壞人俯伏在善人面前； 惡人俯伏在義人門口。
The evil bow down before the good, and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.
14:20
አዕርክተ፡ አብዕልት፡ ይጸልኡ፡ አዕርክተ፡ ነዳያን፡ አዕርክተ፡ አብዕልትሰ፡ ብዙኀን።
貧窮人連鄰舍也恨他； 富足人朋友最多。
The poor person is shunned even by his own neighbor, but the rich person has many friends.
14:21
ዘይሜንኖ፡ ለነዳይ፡ ይነዲ፡ ወዘይምሕሮሰ፡ ለፅኑስ፡ ብፁዕ፡ ውእቱ።
藐視鄰舍的，這人有罪； 憐憫貧窮的，這人有福。
He who despises his neighbor sins, but he who has pity on the poor is blessed.
14:22
ስሑታን፡ ይሔልዩ፡ እከየ፡ ወሣህለ፡ ወጽድቀ፡ ይሔልዩ፡ ኄራን፡ ወኢየአምሩ፡ ሣህለ፡ ወምሕረተ፡ ጸረብተ፡ እኪት።
謀惡的，豈非走入迷途嗎？ 謀善的，必得慈愛和誠實。
Don’t they go astray who plot evil? But love and faithfulness belong to those who plan good.
14:23
ምሕረት፡ ባሕቱ፡ ወሃይማኖት፡ ኀበ፡ ጸረብት፡ ኄራን፡ በኵሉ፡ ሕሊና፡ ትሩፍ፡ ውእቱ፡ ወላህይሰ፡ ዘኢየሐምም፡ ፅኑስ፡ ውእቱ።
諸般勤勞都有益處； 嘴上多言乃致窮乏。
In all hard work there is profit, but the talk of the lips leads only to poverty.
14:24
አክሊሎሙ፡ ለጠቢባን፡ ማእምር፡ ወመምህሮሙ፡ ለዐብዳን፡ እኩይ።
智慧人的財為自己的冠冕； 愚妄人的愚昧終是愚昧。
The crown of the wise is their riches, but the folly of fools crowns them with folly.
14:25
ያድኅን፡ ነፍሶ፡ እምእኩይ፡ ሰማዕት፡ ማእምር፡ ወያነድድ፡ ባሕቱ፡ በሐሰት፡ ሰማዕት፡ መዓምዕ።
作真見證的，救人性命； 吐出謊言的，施行詭詐。
A truthful witness saves souls, but a false witness is deceitful.
14:26
በፍርሃተ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ተስፋ፡ ኃያል፡ ወየኀድግ፡ ለደቂቁ፡ ጽንዐ።
敬畏耶和華的，大有倚靠； 他的兒女也有避難所。
In the fear of Yahweh is a secure fortress, and he will be a refuge for his children.
14:27
ትእዛዘ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ነቅዐ፡ ሕይወት፡ ወይሬሲ፡ ከመ፡ ይትገኃሡ፡ እመሥገርተ፡ ሞት።
敬畏耶和華就是生命的泉源， 可以使人離開死亡的網羅。
The fear of Yahweh is a fountain of life, turning people from the snares of death.
14:28
በብዝኀ፡ አሕዛብ፡ ክብሩ፡ ለንጉሥ፡ ወበውኅደተ፡ አሕዛብ፡ ድቀቱ፡ ለመኰንን።
帝王榮耀在乎民多； 君王衰敗在乎民少。
In the multitude of people is the king’s glory, but in the lack of people is the destruction of the prince.
14:29
ብእሲ፡ ነዊኅ፡ መንፈስ፡ ወርኂበ፡ ልብ፡ ጠቢበ፡ ይከውን።
不輕易發怒的，大有聰明； 性情暴躁的，大顯愚妄。
He who is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a quick temper displays folly.
14:30
ብእሲ፡ መስተዐግሥ፡ ብዙኀ፡ ጠቢበ፡ ይከውን፡ ወኅፀፀ፡ ነፍስሰ፡ ፅኑስ፡ ዓብድ፡ ውእቱ።
心中安靜是肉體的生命； 嫉妒是骨中的朽爛。
The life of the body is a heart at peace, but envy rots the bones.
14:31
አራቂ፡ ብእሲ፡ መፈውሰ፡ ልብ፡ ከመ፡ ነቀዝ፡ ለአዕፅምት፡ ቅንአት፡ ወትዝኅርት፡ እኩይ፡ ለልብ፡ ማእምር።
欺壓貧寒的，是辱沒造他的主； 憐憫窮乏的，乃是尊敬主。
He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for his Maker, but he who is kind to the needy honors him.
14:32
ዘይትዔገል፡ ነዳየ፡ ይዌህኮ፡ ለፈጣሪሁ፡ ወዘያከብሮሰ፡ ይምሕር፡ ነዳየ።
惡人在所行的惡上必被推倒； 義人臨死，有所投靠。
The wicked is brought down in his calamity, but in death, the righteous has a refuge.
14:33
በእከዩ፡ ይትአተት፡ ረሲዕ፡ ወዘይትአመንሰ፡ ኂሩቶ፡ ጻድቅ፡ ውእቱ።
智慧存在聰明人心中； 愚昧人心裏所存的，顯而易見。
Wisdom rests in the heart of one who has understanding, and is even made known in the inward part of fools.
14:34
ውስተ፡ ልበ፡ ኄር፡ ተዓርፍ፡ ጥበብ፡ ወውስተ፡ ልበ፡ ዐብድሰ፡ ኢትትአመር።
公義使邦國高舉； 罪惡是人民的羞辱。
Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people.
14:35
ጽድቅ፡ ታሌዕል፡ ሕዝበ፡ ወያሐፅፅ፡ ኃጢአት፡ ሕዝባ።
智慧的臣子蒙王恩惠； 貽羞的僕人遭其震怒。
The king’s favor is toward a servant who deals wisely, but his wrath is toward one who causes shame.
14:36
ሥሙር፡ ለንጉሥ፡ ላእክ፡ ማእምር፡ ወበተዓቅቦቱ፡ ያርኅቅ፡ ኃሣረ፡ እምነፍሱ፡ ወመዓት፡ ታኃጒል፡ ጠቢባነ።
智慧的臣子蒙王恩惠； 貽羞的僕人遭其震怒。
The king’s favor is toward a servant who deals wisely, but his wrath is toward one who causes shame.
