26:1
ለዓለቅት፡ ሠላስ፡ አዋልድ፡ ላቲ፡ ተፋቅሮ፡ እለ፡ ይትፋቀራ፡ ወሠለስቲሆን፡ እለ፡ ኢይጸግባ፡ ወራብዕቶንሰ፡ ስእንት፡ ብሂለ፡ ኮንየ።
夏天落雪，收割時下雨，都不相宜； 愚昧人得尊榮也是如此。
Like snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, so honor is not fitting for a fool.
26:2
ሲኦል፡ ወፍቅረ፡ ብእሲት፡ ወገሃነም፡ ምድር፡ እንተ፡ ኢተመልእ፡ ማየ፡ ወማይ፡ ወእሳት፡ ኢይብል፡ ኮንየ።
麻雀往來，燕子翻飛； 這樣，無故的咒詛也必不臨到。
Like a fluttering sparrow, like a darting swallow, so the undeserved curse doesn’t come to rest.
26:3
ዓይን፡ ዘይስሕቅ፡ አባሁወዘያስተአኪ፡ ርስዓ፡ እሙ፡ ይመልሕዎ፡ ቋዓት፡ እምግቡ፡ ወይበልዕዎን፡ እጒለ፡ አንስርት፡ ለአዕይንቲሁ።
鞭子是為打馬，轡頭是為勒驢； 刑杖是為打愚昧人的背。
A whip is for the horse, a bridle for the donkey, and a rod for the back of fools!
26:4
ሠለስቱ፡ እሙንቱ፡ ዘኢይክል፡ አእምሮሙ፡ ወራብዖሙሰ፡ ኢይጤየቅ።
不要照愚昧人的愚妄話回答他， 恐怕你與他一樣。
Don’t answer a fool according to his folly, lest you also be like him.
26:5
አሠረ፡ ነስር፡ ዘይሠርር፡ ወፍኖተ፡ አርዌ፡ ምድር፡ ዲበ፡ ኰኵሕ፡ ወአሠረ፡ ሐመር፡ ዲበ፡ ሞገድ፡ እንዘ፡ ተሐውር፡ ወፍናወ፡ ብእሲ፡ በውርዙቱ።
要照愚昧人的愚妄話回答他， 免得他自以為有智慧。
Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes.
26:6
ወከመዝ፡ ውእቱ፡ ፍኖታ፡ ለብእሲት፡ እንተ፡ መሐዝ፡ እንተ፡ ገቢራ፡ ትትሐጸብ፡ ወአልቦ፡ እንከሰ፡ ዘገብረት፡ እኩየ።
藉愚昧人手寄信的， 是砍斷自己的腳，自受 損害。
One who sends a message by the hand of a fool is cutting off feet and drinking violence.
26:7
በእንተ፡ ሠለስቱ፡ ነገር፡ ታድለቀልቅ፡ ምድር፡ ወራብዖሙሰ፡ ኢትክል፡ ፀዊረ።
瘸子的腳空存無用； 箴言在愚昧人的口中也是如此。
Like the legs of the lame that hang loose, so is a parable in the mouth of fools.
26:8
ገብር፡ እመ፡ ነግሠ፡ ወዐብድ፡ ለእመ፡ ጸግበ፡ እክለ።
將尊榮給愚昧人的， 好像人把石子包在機弦裏。
As one who binds a stone in a sling, so is he who gives honor to a fool.
26:9
ወአመት፡ እመ፡ አውፅአት፡ እግዝእታ፡ ወጽእልት፡ ብእእሲት፡ እመ፡ አድምዐት፡ ብእሴ፡ ኄረ።
箴言在愚昧人的口中， 好像荊棘刺入醉漢的手。
Like a thorn bush that goes into the hand of a drunkard, so is a parable in the mouth of fools.
26:10
ወአርባዕቱ፡ ሕፁፃን፡ ውስተ፡ ምድር፡ ወእሉ፡ እሙንቱ፡ ጠቢባነ፡ ጠበብት።
雇愚昧人的，與雇過路人的， 就像射傷眾人的弓箭手。
As an archer who wounds all, so is he who hires a fool or he who hires those who pass by.
26:11
ሰኳዕት፡ እለ፡ አልቦሙ፡ ኃይል፡ ወያስተዳልዉ፡ በማእረር፡ ሲሳዮሙ።
愚昧人行愚妄事，行了又行， 就如狗轉過來吃牠所吐的。
As a dog that returns to his vomit, so is a fool who repeats his folly.
26:12
ወግሔያት፡ ሕዝብ፡ ዘኢኮኑ፡ ፅኑዓነ፡ እለ፡ ረሰዩ፡ ውስተ፡ ግበበ፡ ኰኵሕ፡ አብያቲሆሙ።
你見自以為有智慧的人嗎？ 愚昧人比他更有指望。
Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.
26:13
ወዘእንበለ፡ መንግሥት፡ ውእቱ፡ አንበጣ፡ ዘየሐውር፡ በአሐዱ፡ ትእዛዝ፡ ኅቡረ።
懶惰人說：道上有猛獅， 街上有壯獅。
The sluggard says, “There is a lion in the road! A fierce lion roams the streets!”
26:14
ወላጽቂት፡ ዘበእደዊሁ፡ የሐውር፡ እንዘ፡ ጽቡስ፡ ውእቱ፡ የኀድር፡ ውስተ፡ አብያተ፡ ነገሥት።
門在樞紐轉動， 懶惰人在床上也是如此。
As the door turns on its hinges, so does the sluggard on his bed.
26:15
ሠለስቱ፡ እሙንቱ፡ ዘአዳመ፡ የሐውሩ፡ ወራብዕሰ፡ ዘሠናይ፡ ፍናዊሁ።
懶惰人放手在盤子裏， 就是向口撤回也以為勞乏。
The sluggard buries his hand in the dish. He is too lazy to bring it back to his mouth.
26:16
እጓለ፡ አንበሳ፡ ዘይፀንዕ፡ እምእንስሳ፡ ኢይትመየጥ፡ ወኢደነግፅ፡ እምእንስሳ።
懶惰人看自己比七個善於應對的人更有智慧。
The sluggard is wiser in his own eyes than seven men who answer with discretion.
26:17
ዶርሆ፡ ተባዕት፡ ዘየሐውር፡ ኀበ፡ አንስት፡ እንዘ፡ ያስተናፍስ፡ ከነፊሁ፡ ወበሐኵ፡ እንዘ፡ ይሜብል፡ ላዕለ፡ መርዔት፡ ወንጉሥ፡ እንዘ፡ ይጌሥፅ፡ ሕዝቦ።
過路被事激動，管理不干己的爭競， 好像人揪住狗耳。
Like one who grabs a dog’s ears is one who passes by and meddles in a quarrel not his own.
26:18
ለእመ፡ መጠውከ፡ ርእሰከ፡ ለተፈርንሶ፡ ወሰፋሕከ፡ እዴከ፡ ለጋእዝ፡ ተኀሥር።
人欺凌鄰舍，卻說： 我豈不是戲耍嗎？ 他就像瘋狂的人拋擲火把、利箭， 與殺人的兵器 。
Like a madman who shoots torches, arrows, and death,
26:19
ሕልብ፡ ሐሊበ፡ ወይከውነከ፡ ለስደ፡ ወለእመ፡ አጸርከ፡ አንፈከ፡ ይወጽእ፡ ደም፡ ወለእመ፡ ሰሐብከ፡ ነገረ፡ ይመጽእ፡ ጋእዝ፡ ወኵነኔ።
人欺凌鄰舍，卻說： 我豈不是戲耍嗎？ 他就像瘋狂的人拋擲火把、利箭， 與殺人的兵器 。
is the man who deceives his neighbor and says, “Am I not joking?”
26:20
ቃለ፡ ዚአየ፡ ተየድአ፡ በኀበ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ንጉሥ፡ ፌማ፡ ውእቱ፡ ዘመሀረቶ፡ እሙ።
火缺了柴就必熄滅； 無人傳舌，爭競便止息。
For lack of wood a fire goes out. Without gossip, a quarrel dies down.
26:21
ኦ፡ ወልድየ፡ ተዐቀብ፡ ምንት፡ ቃለ፡ እግዚአብሔር።
好爭競的人煽惑爭端， 就如餘火加炭，火上加柴一樣。
As coals are to hot embers, and wood to fire, so is a contentious man to kindling strife.
26:22
ወኵርየ፡ ለከ፡ እብለከ፡ ወልድየ፡ ሚወልደ፡ ከርሥየ፡ ወሚ፡ ወልደ፡ ጸሎተ፡ ዚአየ።
傳舌人的言語，如同美食， 深入人的心腹。
The words of a whisperer are as dainty morsels, they go down into the innermost parts.
26:23
ኢተሃባ፡ ለብእሲት፡ ብዕለ፡ ዚአከ፡ ወልበከ፡ ከመ፡ ኢትነስሕ፡ ድኅረ፡ ወኢትግበር፡ ዘኢይደሉ፡ ለንጉሥ፡ ወለእግዚአብሔር።
火熱的嘴，奸惡的心， 好像銀渣包的瓦器。
Like silver dross on an earthen vessel are the lips of a fervent one with an evil heart.
26:24
ወኰንን፡ ኵሎ፡ ሰብአ፡ በጽድቅ፡ ወምስለ፡ ምክር፡ ኵሎ፡ ግበር፡ ወምስለ፡ ምክር፡ ወይነ፡ ስተይ።
怨恨人的，用嘴粉飾， 心裏卻藏着詭詐；
A malicious man disguises himself with his lips, but he harbors evil in his heart.
26:25
ወባሕቱ፡ መኳንንት፡ መዓትማን፡ ወይነ፡ ኢይሰተዩ፡ ከመ፡ በስታይ፡ ኢይርስፅዋ፡ ለጥበብ፡ ወኢይክሉ፡ አርትዖ፡ ፍትሕ፡ ለድኩማን።
他用甜言蜜語，你不可信他， 因為他心中有七樣可憎惡的。
When his speech is charming, don’t believe him, for there are seven abominations in his heart.
26:26
ሀብዎሙ፡ ወይነ፡ ለኅዙናን፡ ወይስተዩ፡ ወይነ፡ ትኩዛን፡ ከመ፡ ይርስዕዋ፡ ለኀዘን፡ ወሕማመኒ፡ ኢይዝክሩ፡ እንከ።
他雖用詭詐遮掩自己的怨恨， 他的邪惡必在會中顯露。
His malice may be concealed by deception, but his wickedness will be exposed in the assembly.
26:27
ክሥት፡ አፉከ፡ በቃለ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወኰንን፡ ኵሎ፡ ሕያዋነ።
挖陷坑的，自己必掉在其中； 滾石頭的，石頭必反滾在他身上。
Whoever digs a pit shall fall into it. Whoever rolls a stone, it will come back on him.
26:28
ክሥት፡ አፉከ፡ ወኰንን፡ በጽድቅ፡ ፍታሕ፡ ለነዳይ፡ ወለሕሙም።
虛謊的舌恨他所壓傷的人； 諂媚的口敗壞人的事。
A lying tongue hates those it hurts; and a flattering mouth works ruin.
