ጠባባት ፡ አንስት ፡ ሐነፃ ፡ አብያተ ፡ ወዐብዳትሰ ፡ ነሠታ ፡ አብያቲሆን ፡ በእደዊሆን ።
Every wise woman builds her house, but the foolish one tears it down with her own hands.
智慧婦人建立家室； 愚妄婦人親手拆毀。
14:2▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ዘየሐውር ፡ ፍኖተ ፡ ርቱዐ ፡ ይፈርሆ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ወዘሰ ፡ ያጠዊ ፡ ፍኖቶ ፡ ይትሜነን ።
He who walks in his uprightness fears Yahweh, but he who is perverse in his ways despises him.
行動正直的，敬畏耶和華； 行事乖僻的，卻藐視他。
14:3▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
እምአፈ ፡ ዐብዳን ፡ ይወፅእ ፡ በትረ ፡ ጽእለት ፡ ወከናፍረ ፡ ጠቢባንሰ ፡ ተዓቅቦሙ ።
The fool’s talk brings a rod to his back, but the lips of the wise protect them.
愚妄人口中驕傲，如杖責打己身； 智慧人的嘴必保守自己。
14:4▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ወእደ ፡ አልቦ ፡ አልሕምት ፡ ምጽንጋዕ ፡ ንጹሕ ፡ ወእደሰ ፡ ብዙኅ ፡ እክል ፡ ይትዓወቅ ፡ እምኃይለ ፡ ላሕሙ ።
Where no oxen are, the crib is clean, but much increase is by the strength of the ox.
家裏無牛，槽頭乾淨； 土產加多乃憑牛力。
14:5▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ስምዐ ፡ መሃይምናን ፡ ኢይሔሱ ፡ ወያነድድ ፡ ነፍሰ ፡ ሰማዕተ ፡ ሐሰት ።
A truthful witness will not lie, but a false witness pours out lies.
誠實見證人不說謊話； 假見證人吐出謊言。
14:6▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ተኃሥሣ ፡ ለጥበብ ፡ በኀበ ፡ እኩያን ፡ ወኢትረክባ ፡ ወአእምሮሰ ፡ በኀበ ፡ ጠቢባን ፡ ቀሊል ።
A scoffer seeks wisdom, and doesn’t find it, but knowledge comes easily to a discerning person.
褻慢人尋智慧，卻尋不着； 聰明人易得知識。
14:7▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ኵሉ ፡ ርቱዕ ፡ በቅድሜሁ ፡ ለብእሲ ፡ ዐብድ ፡ ወወልታ ፡ አእምሮ ፡ ከናፍረ ፡ ጠቢባን ።
Stay away from a foolish man, for you won’t find knowledge on his lips.
到愚昧人面前， 不見他嘴中有知識。
14:8▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ጥበብ ፡ ለማእምራን ፡ ተአምር ፡ ፍኖቶሙ ፡ ወለእለ ፡ ዘእንበለ ፡ ልብሰ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ስሒት ፡ ይከውን ፡ ፍኖቶሙ ።
The wisdom of the prudent is to think about his way, but the folly of fools is deceit.
通達人的智慧在乎明白己道； 愚昧人的愚妄乃是詭詐 。
14:9▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
አብያቲሆሙ ፡ ለኃጥአን ፡ ይፈድዩ ፡ ለንጹሐን ፡ ወአብያተ ፡ ጻድቃንሰ ፡ ሥሙር ።
Fools mock at making atonement for sins, but among the upright there is good will.
愚妄人犯罪，以為戲耍 ； 正直人互相喜悅。
14:10▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ልበ ፡ ብእሲ ፡ ማእምር ፡ ኀዘን ፡ ለነፍሱ ፡ ወሶበሂ ፡ ይትፌሣሕ ፡ ኢይትሐወሶ ፡ ጽልእ ።
The heart knows its own bitterness and joy; he will not share these with a stranger.
心中的苦楚，自己知道； 心裏的喜樂，外人無干。
14:11▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
አብያተ ፡ ረሲዐን ፡ ይማስኑ ፡ ወማኅደረ ፡ ራትዓንሰ ፡ ይቀውም ።
The house of the wicked will be overthrown, but the tent of the upright will flourish.
奸惡人的房屋必傾倒； 正直人的帳棚必興盛。
14:12▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ቦ ፡ ፍኖት ፡ እንተ ፡ ትመስል ፡ ርትዕተ ፡ በኀበ ፡ ሰብእ ፡ ወደ ፡ ኃሪታሰ ፡ ታበጽሕ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ማዕምቅተ ፡ ሲኦል ።
There is a way which seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.
有一條路，人以為正， 至終成為死亡之路。
14:13▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ውስተ ፡ ፍሥሓ ፡ ኢይዴመር ፡ ኃዘን ፡ ደኃሪታሰ ፡ ለፍሥሓ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ላህ ፡ ትገብእ ።
Even in laughter the heart may be sorrowful, and mirth may end in heaviness.
人在喜笑中，心也憂愁； 快樂至極就生愁苦。
14:14▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
እምፍኖተ ፡ ዚአሁ ፡ ይመልእ ፡ ዕቡየ ፡ ልብ ፡ ወብእሲ ፡ ኄር ፡ እምሕሊናሁ ፡ ይመልእ ፡ በረከተ ።
The unfaithful will be repaid for his own ways; likewise a good man will be rewarded for his ways.
心中背道的，必滿得自己的結果； 善人必從自己的行為得以知足。
14:15▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
የዋህ ፡ የአምን ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ነገረ ፡ ማእምር ፡ ባሕቱ ፡ ይገብእ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ንስሓ ።
A simple man believes everything, but the prudent man carefully considers his ways.
愚蒙人是話都信； 通達人步步謹慎。
14:16▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ጠቢብ ፡ ፈሪሖ ፡ ተግኅሠ ፡ እምአኩይ ፡ ወዐብድሰ ፡ ተአሚኖ ፡ ርእሶ ፡ ይጸመር ፡ ምስለ ፡ ዐብዳን ።
A wise man fears and shuns evil, but the fool is hot headed and reckless.
智慧人懼怕，就遠離惡事； 愚妄人卻狂傲自恃。
14:17▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
መዓትም ፡ ይገብር ፡ ዘእንበለ ፡ ምክር ፡ ብእሲሰ ፡ ጠቢብ ፡ ብዙኀ ፡ ይትዔገሥ ።
He who is quick to become angry will commit folly, and a crafty man is hated.
輕易發怒的，行事愚妄； 設立詭計的，被人恨惡。
14:18▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ይትካፈሉ ፡ ዓብዳን ፡ እከየ ፡ ማእምራንሰ ፡ ይእኅዝዎ ፡ ለጠይቆ ።
The simple inherit folly, but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
愚蒙人得愚昧為產業； 通達人得知識為冠冕。
14:19▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ይድኅፁ ፡ እኩያን ፡ በቅድመ ፡ ኄራን ፡ ወረሲዓንሰ ፡ ይትቀነዩ ፡ በኆኅተ ፡ ጻድቃን ።
The evil bow down before the good, and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.
壞人俯伏在善人面前； 惡人俯伏在義人門口。
14:20▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
አዕርክተ ፡ አብዕልት ፡ ይጸልኡ ፡ አዕርክተ ፡ ነዳያን ፡ አዕርክተ ፡ አብዕልትሰ ፡ ብዙኀን ።
The poor person is shunned even by his own neighbor, but the rich person has many friends.
貧窮人連鄰舍也恨他； 富足人朋友最多。
14:21▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ዘይሜንኖ ፡ ለነዳይ ፡ ይነዲ ፡ ወዘይምሕሮሰ ፡ ለፅኑስ ፡ ብፁዕ ፡ ውእቱ ።
He who despises his neighbor sins, but he who has pity on the poor is blessed.
藐視鄰舍的，這人有罪； 憐憫貧窮的，這人有福。
14:22▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ስሑታን ፡ ይሔልዩ ፡ እከየ ፡ ወሣህለ ፡ ወጽድቀ ፡ ይሔልዩ ፡ ኄራን ፡ ወኢየአምሩ ፡ ሣህለ ፡ ወምሕረተ ፡ ጸረብተ ፡ እኪት ።
Don’t they go astray who plot evil? But love and faithfulness belong to those who plan good.
謀惡的，豈非走入迷途嗎？ 謀善的，必得慈愛和誠實。
14:23▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ምሕረት ፡ ባሕቱ ፡ ወሃይማኖት ፡ ኀበ ፡ ጸረብት ፡ ኄራን ፡ በኵሉ ፡ ሕሊና ፡ ትሩፍ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ወላህይሰ ፡ ዘኢየሐምም ፡ ፅኑስ ፡ ውእቱ ።
In all hard work there is profit, but the talk of the lips leads only to poverty.
諸般勤勞都有益處； 嘴上多言乃致窮乏。
14:24▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
አክሊሎሙ ፡ ለጠቢባን ፡ ማእምር ፡ ወመምህሮሙ ፡ ለዐብዳን ፡ እኩይ ።
The crown of the wise is their riches, but the folly of fools crowns them with folly.
智慧人的財為自己的冠冕； 愚妄人的愚昧終是愚昧。
14:25▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ያድኅን ፡ ነፍሶ ፡ እምእኩይ ፡ ሰማዕት ፡ ማእምር ፡ ወያነድድ ፡ ባሕቱ ፡ በሐሰት ፡ ሰማዕት ፡ መዓምዕ ።
A truthful witness saves souls, but a false witness is deceitful.
作真見證的，救人性命； 吐出謊言的，施行詭詐。
14:26▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
በፍርሃተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ተስፋ ፡ ኃያል ፡ ወየኀድግ ፡ ለደቂቁ ፡ ጽንዐ ።
In the fear of Yahweh is a secure fortress, and he will be a refuge for his children.
敬畏耶和華的，大有倚靠； 他的兒女也有避難所。
14:27▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ትእዛዘ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ነቅዐ ፡ ሕይወት ፡ ወይሬሲ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይትገኃሡ ፡ እመሥገርተ ፡ ሞት ።
The fear of Yahweh is a fountain of life, turning people from the snares of death.
敬畏耶和華就是生命的泉源， 可以使人離開死亡的網羅。
14:28▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
በብዝኀ ፡ አሕዛብ ፡ ክብሩ ፡ ለንጉሥ ፡ ወበውኅደተ ፡ አሕዛብ ፡ ድቀቱ ፡ ለመኰንን ።
In the multitude of people is the king’s glory, but in the lack of people is the destruction of the prince.
帝王榮耀在乎民多； 君王衰敗在乎民少。
14:29▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ብእሲ ፡ ነዊኅ ፡ መንፈስ ፡ ወርኂበ ፡ ልብ ፡ ጠቢበ ፡ ይከውን ።
He who is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a quick temper displays folly.
不輕易發怒的，大有聰明； 性情暴躁的，大顯愚妄。
14:30▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ብእሲ ፡ መስተዐግሥ ፡ ብዙኀ ፡ ጠቢበ ፡ ይከውን ፡ ወኅፀፀ ፡ ነፍስሰ ፡ ፅኑስ ፡ ዓብድ ፡ ውእቱ ።
The life of the body is a heart at peace, but envy rots the bones.
心中安靜是肉體的生命； 嫉妒是骨中的朽爛。
14:31▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
አራቂ ፡ ብእሲ ፡ መፈውሰ ፡ ልብ ፡ ከመ ፡ ነቀዝ ፡ ለአዕፅምት ፡ ቅንአት ፡ ወትዝኅርት ፡ እኩይ ፡ ለልብ ፡ ማእምር ።
He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for his Maker, but he who is kind to the needy honors him.
欺壓貧寒的，是辱沒造他的主； 憐憫窮乏的，乃是尊敬主。
14:32▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ዘይትዔገል ፡ ነዳየ ፡ ይዌህኮ ፡ ለፈጣሪሁ ፡ ወዘያከብሮሰ ፡ ይምሕር ፡ ነዳየ ።
The wicked is brought down in his calamity, but in death, the righteous has a refuge.
惡人在所行的惡上必被推倒； 義人臨死，有所投靠。
14:33▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
በእከዩ ፡ ይትአተት ፡ ረሲዕ ፡ ወዘይትአመንሰ ፡ ኂሩቶ ፡ ጻድቅ ፡ ውእቱ ።
Wisdom rests in the heart of one who has understanding, and is even made known in the inward part of fools.
智慧存在聰明人心中； 愚昧人心裏所存的，顯而易見。
14:34▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ውስተ ፡ ልበ ፡ ኄር ፡ ተዓርፍ ፡ ጥበብ ፡ ወውስተ ፡ ልበ ፡ ዐብድሰ ፡ ኢትትአመር ።
Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people.
公義使邦國高舉； 罪惡是人民的羞辱。
14:35▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ጽድቅ ፡ ታሌዕል ፡ ሕዝበ ፡ ወያሐፅፅ ፡ ኃጢአት ፡ ሕዝባ ።
The king’s favor is toward a servant who deals wisely, but his wrath is toward one who causes shame.
智慧的臣子蒙王恩惠； 貽羞的僕人遭其震怒。
14:36▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ሥሙር ፡ ለንጉሥ ፡ ላእክ ፡ ማእምር ፡ ወበተዓቅቦቱ ፡ ያርኅቅ ፡ ኃሣረ ፡ እምነፍሱ ፡ ወመዓት ፡ ታኃጒል ፡ ጠቢባነ ።

智慧的臣子蒙王恩惠； 貽羞的僕人遭其震怒。
