ለዓለቅት ፡ ሠላስ ፡ አዋልድ ፡ ላቲ ፡ ተፋቅሮ ፡ እለ ፡ ይትፋቀራ ፡ ወሠለስቲሆን ፡ እለ ፡ ኢይጸግባ ፡ ወራብዕቶንሰ ፡ ስእንት ፡ ብሂለ ፡ ኮንየ ።
Like snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, so honor is not fitting for a fool.
夏天落雪，收割時下雨，都不相宜； 愚昧人得尊榮也是如此。
26:2▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ሲኦል ፡ ወፍቅረ ፡ ብእሲት ፡ ወገሃነም ፡ ምድር ፡ እንተ ፡ ኢተመልእ ፡ ማየ ፡ ወማይ ፡ ወእሳት ፡ ኢይብል ፡ ኮንየ ።
Like a fluttering sparrow, like a darting swallow, so the undeserved curse doesn’t come to rest.
麻雀往來，燕子翻飛； 這樣，無故的咒詛也必不臨到。
26:3▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ዓይን ፡ ዘይስሕቅ ፡ አባሁወዘያስተአኪ ፡ ርስዓ ፡ እሙ ፡ ይመልሕዎ ፡ ቋዓት ፡ እምግቡ ፡ ወይበልዕዎን ፡ እጒለ ፡ አንስርት ፡ ለአዕይንቲሁ ።
A whip is for the horse, a bridle for the donkey, and a rod for the back of fools!
鞭子是為打馬，轡頭是為勒驢； 刑杖是為打愚昧人的背。
26:4▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ሠለስቱ ፡ እሙንቱ ፡ ዘኢይክል ፡ አእምሮሙ ፡ ወራብዖሙሰ ፡ ኢይጤየቅ ።
Don’t answer a fool according to his folly, lest you also be like him.
不要照愚昧人的愚妄話回答他， 恐怕你與他一樣。
26:5▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
አሠረ ፡ ነስር ፡ ዘይሠርር ፡ ወፍኖተ ፡ አርዌ ፡ ምድር ፡ ዲበ ፡ ኰኵሕ ፡ ወአሠረ ፡ ሐመር ፡ ዲበ ፡ ሞገድ ፡ እንዘ ፡ ተሐውር ፡ ወፍናወ ፡ ብእሲ ፡ በውርዙቱ ።
Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes.
要照愚昧人的愚妄話回答他， 免得他自以為有智慧。
26:6▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ወከመዝ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ፍኖታ ፡ ለብእሲት ፡ እንተ ፡ መሐዝ ፡ እንተ ፡ ገቢራ ፡ ትትሐጸብ ፡ ወአልቦ ፡ እንከሰ ፡ ዘገብረት ፡ እኩየ ።
One who sends a message by the hand of a fool is cutting off feet and drinking violence.
藉愚昧人手寄信的， 是砍斷自己的腳，自受 損害。
26:7▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
በእንተ ፡ ሠለስቱ ፡ ነገር ፡ ታድለቀልቅ ፡ ምድር ፡ ወራብዖሙሰ ፡ ኢትክል ፡ ፀዊረ ።
Like the legs of the lame that hang loose, so is a parable in the mouth of fools.
瘸子的腳空存無用； 箴言在愚昧人的口中也是如此。
26:8▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ገብር ፡ እመ ፡ ነግሠ ፡ ወዐብድ ፡ ለእመ ፡ ጸግበ ፡ እክለ ።
As one who binds a stone in a sling, so is he who gives honor to a fool.
將尊榮給愚昧人的， 好像人把石子包在機弦裏。
26:9▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ወአመት ፡ እመ ፡ አውፅአት ፡ እግዝእታ ፡ ወጽእልት ፡ ብእእሲት ፡ እመ ፡ አድምዐት ፡ ብእሴ ፡ ኄረ ።
Like a thorn bush that goes into the hand of a drunkard, so is a parable in the mouth of fools.
箴言在愚昧人的口中， 好像荊棘刺入醉漢的手。
26:10▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ወአርባዕቱ ፡ ሕፁፃን ፡ ውስተ ፡ ምድር ፡ ወእሉ ፡ እሙንቱ ፡ ጠቢባነ ፡ ጠበብት ።
As an archer who wounds all, so is he who hires a fool or he who hires those who pass by.
雇愚昧人的，與雇過路人的， 就像射傷眾人的弓箭手。
26:11▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ሰኳዕት ፡ እለ ፡ አልቦሙ ፡ ኃይል ፡ ወያስተዳልዉ ፡ በማእረር ፡ ሲሳዮሙ ።
As a dog that returns to his vomit, so is a fool who repeats his folly.
愚昧人行愚妄事，行了又行， 就如狗轉過來吃牠所吐的。
26:12▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ወግሔያት ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ዘኢኮኑ ፡ ፅኑዓነ ፡ እለ ፡ ረሰዩ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ግበበ ፡ ኰኵሕ ፡ አብያቲሆሙ ።
Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him.
你見自以為有智慧的人嗎？ 愚昧人比他更有指望。
26:13▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ወዘእንበለ ፡ መንግሥት ፡ ውእቱ ፡ አንበጣ ፡ ዘየሐውር ፡ በአሐዱ ፡ ትእዛዝ ፡ ኅቡረ ።
The sluggard says, “There is a lion in the road! A fierce lion roams the streets!”
懶惰人說：道上有猛獅， 街上有壯獅。
26:14▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ወላጽቂት ፡ ዘበእደዊሁ ፡ የሐውር ፡ እንዘ ፡ ጽቡስ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ የኀድር ፡ ውስተ ፡ አብያተ ፡ ነገሥት ።
As the door turns on its hinges, so does the sluggard on his bed.
門在樞紐轉動， 懶惰人在床上也是如此。
26:15▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ሠለስቱ ፡ እሙንቱ ፡ ዘአዳመ ፡ የሐውሩ ፡ ወራብዕሰ ፡ ዘሠናይ ፡ ፍናዊሁ ።
The sluggard buries his hand in the dish. He is too lazy to bring it back to his mouth.
懶惰人放手在盤子裏， 就是向口撤回也以為勞乏。
26:16▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
እጓለ ፡ አንበሳ ፡ ዘይፀንዕ ፡ እምእንስሳ ፡ ኢይትመየጥ ፡ ወኢደነግፅ ፡ እምእንስሳ ።
The sluggard is wiser in his own eyes than seven men who answer with discretion.
懶惰人看自己比七個善於應對的人更有智慧。
26:17▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ዶርሆ ፡ ተባዕት ፡ ዘየሐውር ፡ ኀበ ፡ አንስት ፡ እንዘ ፡ ያስተናፍስ ፡ ከነፊሁ ፡ ወበሐኵ ፡ እንዘ ፡ ይሜብል ፡ ላዕለ ፡ መርዔት ፡ ወንጉሥ ፡ እንዘ ፡ ይጌሥፅ ፡ ሕዝቦ ።
Like one who grabs a dog’s ears is one who passes by and meddles in a quarrel not his own.
過路被事激動，管理不干己的爭競， 好像人揪住狗耳。
26:18▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ለእመ ፡ መጠውከ ፡ ርእሰከ ፡ ለተፈርንሶ ፡ ወሰፋሕከ ፡ እዴከ ፡ ለጋእዝ ፡ ተኀሥር ።
Like a madman who shoots torches, arrows, and death,
人欺凌鄰舍，卻說： 我豈不是戲耍嗎？ 他就像瘋狂的人拋擲火把、利箭， 與殺人的兵器 。
26:19▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ሕልብ ፡ ሐሊበ ፡ ወይከውነከ ፡ ለስደ ፡ ወለእመ ፡ አጸርከ ፡ አንፈከ ፡ ይወጽእ ፡ ደም ፡ ወለእመ ፡ ሰሐብከ ፡ ነገረ ፡ ይመጽእ ፡ ጋእዝ ፡ ወኵነኔ ።
is the man who deceives his neighbor and says, “Am I not joking?”
人欺凌鄰舍，卻說： 我豈不是戲耍嗎？ 他就像瘋狂的人拋擲火把、利箭， 與殺人的兵器 。
26:20▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ቃለ ፡ ዚአየ ፡ ተየድአ ፡ በኀበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ፌማ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ዘመሀረቶ ፡ እሙ ።
For lack of wood a fire goes out. Without gossip, a quarrel dies down.
火缺了柴就必熄滅； 無人傳舌，爭競便止息。
26:21▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ኦ ፡ ወልድየ ፡ ተዐቀብ ፡ ምንት ፡ ቃለ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።
As coals are to hot embers, and wood to fire, so is a contentious man to kindling strife.
好爭競的人煽惑爭端， 就如餘火加炭，火上加柴一樣。
26:22▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ወኵርየ ፡ ለከ ፡ እብለከ ፡ ወልድየ ፡ ሚወልደ ፡ ከርሥየ ፡ ወሚ ፡ ወልደ ፡ ጸሎተ ፡ ዚአየ ።
The words of a whisperer are as dainty morsels, they go down into the innermost parts.
傳舌人的言語，如同美食， 深入人的心腹。
26:23▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ኢተሃባ ፡ ለብእሲት ፡ ብዕለ ፡ ዚአከ ፡ ወልበከ ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢትነስሕ ፡ ድኅረ ፡ ወኢትግበር ፡ ዘኢይደሉ ፡ ለንጉሥ ፡ ወለእግዚአብሔር ።
Like silver dross on an earthen vessel are the lips of a fervent one with an evil heart.
火熱的嘴，奸惡的心， 好像銀渣包的瓦器。
26:24▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ወኰንን ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ሰብአ ፡ በጽድቅ ፡ ወምስለ ፡ ምክር ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ግበር ፡ ወምስለ ፡ ምክር ፡ ወይነ ፡ ስተይ ።
A malicious man disguises himself with his lips, but he harbors evil in his heart.
怨恨人的，用嘴粉飾， 心裏卻藏着詭詐；
26:25▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ወባሕቱ ፡ መኳንንት ፡ መዓትማን ፡ ወይነ ፡ ኢይሰተዩ ፡ ከመ ፡ በስታይ ፡ ኢይርስፅዋ ፡ ለጥበብ ፡ ወኢይክሉ ፡ አርትዖ ፡ ፍትሕ ፡ ለድኩማን ።
When his speech is charming, don’t believe him, for there are seven abominations in his heart.
他用甜言蜜語，你不可信他， 因為他心中有七樣可憎惡的。
26:26▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ሀብዎሙ ፡ ወይነ ፡ ለኅዙናን ፡ ወይስተዩ ፡ ወይነ ፡ ትኩዛን ፡ ከመ ፡ ይርስዕዋ ፡ ለኀዘን ፡ ወሕማመኒ ፡ ኢይዝክሩ ፡ እንከ ።
His malice may be concealed by deception, but his wickedness will be exposed in the assembly.
他雖用詭詐遮掩自己的怨恨， 他的邪惡必在會中顯露。
26:27▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ክሥት ፡ አፉከ ፡ በቃለ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወኰንን ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ሕያዋነ ።
Whoever digs a pit shall fall into it. Whoever rolls a stone, it will come back on him.
挖陷坑的，自己必掉在其中； 滾石頭的，石頭必反滾在他身上。
26:28▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
ክሥት ፡ አፉከ ፡ ወኰንን ፡ በጽድቅ ፡ ፍታሕ ፡ ለነዳይ ፡ ወለሕሙም ።
A lying tongue hates those it hurts; and a flattering mouth works ruin.
虛謊的舌恨他所壓傷的人； 諂媚的口敗壞人的事。
