22:1
ይኄይስ፡ ስም፡ ሠናይ፡ እምበዙኅ፡ ብዕል፡ ወእምብሩር፡ ወወርቅ፡ ሞገስ፡ አዳም።
A good name is more desirable than great riches, and loving favor is better than silver and gold.
美名勝過大財； 恩寵強如金銀。
22:2
ባዕል፡ ወነዳይ፡ ይትራከቡ፡ ኅቡረ፡ ወክልኤሆሙ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ገብረ።
The rich and the poor have this in common: Yahweh is the maker of them all.
富戶窮人在世相遇， 都為耶和華所造。
22:3
ማእምር፡ ርእዮ፡ እንዘ፡ ይትኴነን፡ እኩይ፡ ኅዩል፡ ይትጌሠፅ፡ ወዐብዳንሰ፡ እንዘ፡ የኀልፉ፡ ኀሥሩ።
A prudent man sees danger and hides himself; but the simple pass on, and suffer for it.
通達人見禍藏躲； 愚蒙人前往受害。
22:4
ትወልዳ፡ ለጥበብ፡ ፈሪሀ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ለክብር፡ ወለብዕል፡ ወለሕይወት።
The result of humility and the fear of Yahweh is wealth, honor, and life.
敬畏耶和華心存謙卑， 就得富有、尊榮、生命為賞賜。
22:5
አሜከላ፡ ወመሣግር፡ ውስተ፡ ፍናው፡ ጠዋያት፡ ወዘየዐቅብሰ፡ ነፍሶ፡ ያድኅን፡ ወያመስጦን።
Thorns and snares are in the path of the wicked; whoever guards his soul stays far from them.
乖僻人的路上有荊棘和網羅； 保守自己生命的，必要遠離。
22:6
አብዕልት፡ ነዳያነ፡ ይኴንኑ፡ ወአግብርት፡ ለአጋእዚቲሆሙ፡ ይሌቅሑ።
Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.
教養孩童，使他走當行的道， 就是到老他也不偏離。
22:7
ወዘይዘርእ፡ ሕብለ፡ የአርር፡ እከየ፡ ወመቅሠፍተ፡ ምግባሪሁ፡ ይፌጽም።
The rich rule over the poor. The borrower is servant to the lender.
富戶管轄窮人； 欠債的是債主的僕人。
22:8
ብእሴ፡ ፍሡሐ፡ ወሀቤ፡ ይፈቅር፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ወከንቶ፡ ምግባሪሁ፡ ይጸልእ።
He who sows wickedness reaps trouble, and the rod of his fury will be destroyed.
撒罪孽的，必收災禍； 他逞怒的杖也必廢掉。
22:9
ዘይምሕርሰ፡ ነዳየ፡ ውእቱ፡ በልዐ፡ እስመ፡ ኅብስቶ፡ ወሀበ፡ ለምስኪናን፡ ወአኮ፡ ለባዕል፡ ዘይፈዲ፡ ለዘወሀቦ።
He who has a generous eye will be blessed, for he shares his food with the poor.
眼目慈善的，就必蒙福， 因他將食物分給窮人。
22:10
መዊዐ፡ ወክብረ፡ ይረክብ፡ ዘወሀበ፡ ሕልያነ፡ ወባሕቱ፡ ነፍሶ፡ ያአትት፡ ዘነሥአ።
Drive out the mocker, and strife will go out; yes, quarrels and insults will stop.
趕出褻慢人，爭端就消除； 紛爭和羞辱也必止息。
22:11
አውጽእ፡ እምእንግልጋ፡ ቀታሌ፡ ወይትልዎ፡ ሞት፡ እስመ፡ ሶበ፡ ይነብር፡ ውስተ፡ እንግልጋ፡ ኵሎ፡ ያኅሠርሥር።
He who loves purity of heart and speaks gracefully is the king’s friend.
喜愛清心的人因他嘴上的恩言， 王必與他為友。
22:12
ያፈቅር፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ የዋሃተ፡ ልብ፡ ወኅሩያን፡ በኀቤሁ፡ ኵሎሙ፡ ንጹሐን፡ ወበከናፍሪሁ፡ ይሬኢ፡ ንጉሥ።
Yahweh’s eyes watch over knowledge, but he frustrates the words of the unfaithful.
耶和華的眼目眷顧聰明人， 卻傾敗奸詐人的言語。
22:13
አዕይንተ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ የዓቅባ፡ አእምሮ፡ ወይሜንን፡ ቃለ፡ ጥበብ፡ ኃጥእ።
The sluggard says, “There is a lion outside! I will be killed in the streets!”
懶惰人說：外頭有獅子； 我在街上就必被殺。
22:14
ያመከኒ፡ ሀካይ፡ ሶበ፡ ይልእክዎ፡ ወይብል፡ ሀሎ፡ አንበሳ፡ ውስተ፡ ፍኖት፡ ወውስተ፡ መራኅብት፡ ቀትል።
The mouth of an adulteress is a deep pit. He who is under Yahweh’s wrath will fall into it.
淫婦的口為深坑； 耶和華所憎惡的，必陷在其中。
22:15
ግብ፡ ዕሙቅ፡ አፈ፡ ዐማፂ፡ ወዘተጸልአ፡ በኀበ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ይወድቅ፡ ውስቴቱ።
Folly is bound up in the heart of a child; the rod of discipline drives it far from him.
愚蒙迷住孩童的心， 用管教的杖可以遠遠趕除。
22:16
በፍናው፡ እኩያት፡ ቅድሜሁ፡ ለብእሲ፡ ወኢያፈቅር፡ ይትገኀሥ፡ እምኔሆን፡ ወተግኅሦሰ፡ መፍትው፡ እምፍኖት፡ ጸዋግ፡ ወእኪት።
Whoever oppresses the poor for his own increase and whoever gives to the rich, both come to poverty.
欺壓貧窮為要利己的， 並送禮與富戶的，都必缺乏。
22:17
ኢያእምሮ፡ አልዓለቶ፡ ለልበ፡ ወሬዛ፡ እስር፡ በትር፡ ወመቅሠፍት፡ ርኅቀ፡ እምኔሁ።
Turn your ear, and listen to the words of the wise. Apply your heart to my teaching.
你須側耳聽受智慧人的言語， 留心領會我的知識。
22:18
ዘይትዔገሎ፡ ለነዳይ፡ ብዙኀ፡ ይሬሲ፡ ጥሪቶ፡ ወይሁብ፡ ለባዕል፡ በተጽናሱ፡ ወአኮ፡ ለነዳይ።
For it is a pleasant thing if you keep them within you, if all of them are ready on your lips.
你若心中存記， 嘴上咬定，這便為美。
22:19
ኀበ፡ ቃለ፡ ጠቢባን፡ አቅርብ፡ ዕዝነከ፡ ለአፅምኦ፡ ወስማዕ፡ ቃለ፡ ዚአየ፡ ወልበከ፡ አቅርብ፡ ከመ፡ ሠናየ፡ ታእምር።
I teach you today, even you, so that your trust may be in Yahweh.
我今日以此特特指教你， 為要使你倚靠耶和華。
22:20
ወእመ፡ ወደይኮሙ፡ ውስተ፡ ልብከ፡ ያስተፌሥሑከ፡ ኅቡረ፡ በከናፍሪከ፡ ከመ፡ ይኩን፡ በኀበ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ተስፋከ፡ ፈድፋደ፡ ወያኤምረከ፡ ፍኖቶ።
Haven’t I written to you thirty excellent things of counsel and knowledge,
謀略和知識的美事， 我豈沒有寫給你嗎？
22:21
ናሁ፡ ጸሐፍኩ፡ ለከ፡ ትሥልስተ፡ ለምክር፡ ወለአእምሮ፡ ወአንተ፡ ጸሐፎን፡ ለርእስከ፡ ውስተ፡ ራኅበ፡ ልብከ።
To teach you truth, reliable words, to give sound answers to the ones who sent you?
要使你知道真言的實理， 你好將真言回覆那打發你來的人。
22:22
እሜህረከ፡ ህልወ፡ ቃለ፡ አእምሮ፡ ኄረ፡ ከመ፡ ትስማዕ፡ ወከመ፡ ታውሥእ፡ ቃለ፡ ጽድቅ፡ ለእለ፡ ይሴአሉከ።
Don’t exploit the poor because he is poor; and don’t crush the needy in court;
貧窮人，你不可因他貧窮就搶奪他的物， 也不可在城門口欺壓困苦人；
22:23
ኢትትዓገሎ፡ ለነዳይ፡ እስመ፡ ምስኪን፡ ውእቱ፡ ወኢትመንን፡ ድውየ፡ በአናቅጽ።
for Yahweh will plead their case, and plunder the life of those who plunder them.
因耶和華必為他辨屈； 搶奪他的，耶和華必奪取那人的命。
22:24
እስመ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ይፈትሕ፡ ኵነኔሁ፡ ወይባልሖ፡ እም፡ እንቲአከ፡ ነፍስ፡ እንተ፡ ኢትሰረቅ፡ ወይትቤቀል፡ ሎቱ።
Don’t befriend a hot-tempered man. Don’t associate with one who harbors anger,
好生氣的人，不可與他結交； 暴怒的人，不可與他來往；
22:25
ኢትኩን፡ መጽመሮ፡ ለብእሲ፡ መዓትም፡ ወምስለ፡ ዐርክ፡ መግዝእ፡ ኢትኀድር፡ ከመ፡ ኢትትመሀር፡ ፍኖቶ።
lest you learn his ways and ensnare your soul.
恐怕你效法他的行為， 自己就陷在網羅裏。
22:26
ወትነሥኣ፡ መሥገርተ፡ ለነፍስከ፡ ወኢተሀብ፡ እዴከ፡ ለህቢት፡ በኀፊረ፡ ገጽ፡ እመ፡ አልብከ፡ ዘትፈዲ፡ ወይነሥአከ፡ ክዳነከ፡ ዘታሕተ፡ ገቦከ።
Don’t you be one of those who strike hands, of those who are collateral for debts.
不要與人擊掌， 不要為欠債的作保。
22:27
ወኢትንሥት፡ ሥርዐተ፡ ዘለዓለም፡ ዘአንበሩ፡ አበዊከ።
If you don’t have means to pay, why should he take away your bed from under you?
你若沒有甚麼償還， 何必使人奪去你睡臥的床呢？
22:28
ጥዩቅ፡ ብእሲ፡ ወበሊኅ፡ በምግባሩ፡ ለነገሥት፡ ሀለዎ፡ ይቅርብ፡ ወኢይቀውም፡ ለሰብእ፡ ፅኑሳን።
Don’t move the ancient boundary stone which your fathers have set up.
你先祖所立的地界， 你不可挪移。
