ℹ️ This corpus has no verse-level morphological tagging. Lemmas come mainly from word-level tagging of other books in the same language (not from this verse), falling back to dictionary form-matching for the rest. Rare homographs can still be misread; verify against the original and a specialist lexicon where precision matters.

In the tenth year of the reign of Commodus, Victor succeeded Eleutherus, who had administered the episcopate for thirteen years. In the same year, Julian having completed his tenth year, Demetrius was entrusted with the parishes at Alexandria. At this same time too, Serapion, already mentioned before, the eighth bishop from the apostles of the church of Antioch, was still then well known; and Theophilus presided over Caesarea in Palestine. And likewise Narcissus—of whom the account has made mention before—still then held the ministry of the church in Jerusalem. And at the same period Bacchylus was bishop of Corinth in Greece, and Polycrates of the parish in Ephesus; and there were countless others besides these, as is likely, who were eminent in these times. But those whose orthodoxy of faith has come down to us in writing, these we have reasonably set down by name.
