11:1

Ζητήσωμεν δέ, εἰ ἐμέλησεν τῷ κυρίῳ προφανερῶσαι περὶ τοῦ ὕδατος καὶ περὶ τοῦ σταυροῦ. περὶ μὲν τοῦ ὕδατος γέγραπται ἐπὶ τὸν Ἰσραήλ, πῶς τὸ βάπτισμα τὸ φέρον ἄφεσιν ἁμαρτιῶν οὐ μὴ προσδέξονται, ἀλλ̓ ἑαυτοῖς οἰκοδομήσουσιν

But let us inquire whether the Lord took care to reveal beforehand concerning the water and concerning the cross. Concerning the water it is written with reference to Israel, how they will not receive the baptism that brings forgiveness of sins, but will build for themselves.

讓我們查考，主是否顧念到要豫先指明關於水與十字架的事。論到水，是指著以色列寫的，說他們必不領受那帶來罪得赦免的浸，倒要為自己另建。

11:2

λέγει γὰρ ὁ προφήτης: Ἔκστηθι οὐρανέ, καὶ ἐπὶ τούτῳ πλεῖον φριξάτω ἡ γῆ, ὅτι δύο καὶ πονηρὰ ἐποίησεν ὁ λαὸς οὗτος: ἐμὲ ἐγκατέλιπον, πηγὴν ζωῆς, καὶ ἑαυτοῖς ὤρυξαν βόθρον θανάτου

For the prophet says: "Be astonished, O heaven, and over this let the earth shudder the more, for this people has done two evil things: they have forsaken me, the fountain of life, and have dug for themselves a pit of death."

因為先知說：「天哪，你要驚奇；地啊，要因此更加戰慄。因為這民行了兩件惡事：他們離棄了我這生命的泉源，又為自己鑿出死亡的坑。」

11:3

Μὴ πέτρα ἔρημός ἐστιν τὸ ὄρος τὸ ἅγιόν μου Σινᾶ; ἔσεσθε γὰρ ὡς πετεινοῦ νοσσοὶ ἀνιπτάμενοι νοσσιᾶς ἀφῃρημένοι

"Is my holy mountain Sinai a desert rock? For you shall be as the young of a bird, fluttering away when taken from the nest."

「我的聖山西乃豈是荒涼的磐石嗎？因為你們必像雛鳥，從巢中被取去，撲翅飛散。」

11:4

καὶ πάλιν λέγει ὁ προφήτης: Ἐγὼ πορεύσομαι ἔμπροσθέν σου καὶ ὄρη ὁμαλιῶ καὶ πύλας χαλκᾶς συντρίψω καὶ μοχλοὺς σιδηροῦς συγκλάσω, καὶ δώσω σοι θησαυροὺς σκοτεινούς, ἀποκρύφους, ἀοράτους, ἵνα γνῶσιν ὅτι ἐγὼ κύριος ὁ θεός

And again the prophet says: "I will go before you and level mountains and break in pieces gates of bronze and shatter bars of iron, and I will give you treasures dark, hidden, unseen, that they may know that I am the Lord God."

先知又說：「我必在你前面行，削平山嶺，打碎銅門，砍斷鐵閂，將那黑暗、隱藏、不可見的財寶賜給你，叫他們知道我是耶和華神。」

11:5

καί: Κατοικήσεις ἐν ὑψηλῷ σπηλαίῳ πέτρας ἰσχυρᾶς. καί: τὸ ὕδωρ αὐτοῦ πιστόν: βασιλέα μετὰ δόξης ὄψεσθε, καὶ ἡ ψυχὴ ὑμῶν μελετήσει φόβον κυρίου

And: "You shall dwell in a lofty cave of a strong rock." And: "His water is sure; you shall see a king in glory, and your soul shall meditate upon the fear of the Lord."

又說：「你必住在堅固磐石的高洞裡。」又說：「他的水必不斷絕；你必見君王的榮美，你的心必默想敬畏耶和華。」

11:6

καὶ πάλιν ἐν ἄλλῳ προφήτῃ λέγει: Καὶ ἔσται ὁ ταῦτα ποιῶν ὡς τὸ ξύλον τὸ πεφυτευμένον παρὰ τὰς διεξόδους τῶν ὑδάτων, ὃ τὸν καρπὸν αὐτοῦ δώσει ἐν καιρῷ αὐτοῦ, καὶ τὸ φύλλον αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἀπορυήσεται, καὶ πάντα, ὅσα ἂν ποιῇ, κατευοδωθήσεται

And again in another prophet He says: "And he who does these things shall be like the tree planted by the streams of waters, which shall yield its fruit in its season, and its leaf shall not fall off, and whatever he does shall prosper."

祂又在另一位先知裡說：「行這些事的人，必像一棵樹栽在溪水旁，按時候結果子，葉子也不枯乾；他所作的盡都順利。」

11:7

οὐχ οὕτως οἱ ἀσεβεῖς, οὐχ οὕτως, ἀλλ̓ ἢ ὡς ὁ χνοῦς, ὃν ἐκρίπτει ὁ ἄνεμος ἀπὸ προσώπου τῆς γῆς. διὰ τοῦτο οὐκ ἀναστήσονται ἀσεβεῖς ἐν κρίσει οὐδὲ ἁμαρτωλοὶ ἐν βουλῇ δικαίων, ὅτι γινώσκει κύριος ὁδὸν δικαίων, καὶ ὁδὸς ἀσεβῶν ἀπολεῖται

"Not so the ungodly, not so, but they are like the chaff which the wind drives away from the face of the earth. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the counsel of the righteous; for the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish."

「惡人並不是這樣，乃像糠秕被風吹散，從地面上去。因此當審判的時候惡人必站立不住，罪人在義人的會中也是如此。因為主知道義人的道路，惡人的道路卻必滅亡。」

11:8

αἰσθάνεσθε, πῶς τὸ ὕδωρ καὶ τὸν σταυρὸν ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτὸ ὥρισεν. τοῦτο γὰρ λέγει: μακάριοι, οἲ ἐπὶ τὸν σταυρὸν ἐλπίσαντες κατέβησαν εἰς τὸ ὕδωρ, ὅτι τὸν μὲν μισθὸν λέγει ἐν καιρῷ αὐτοῦ: τότε, φησίν, ἀποδώσω. νῦν δὲ ὅ λέγει: τὰ φύλλα οὐκ ἀπορυήσεται, τοῦτο λέγει: ὅτι πᾶν ῥῆμα, ὃ ἐὰν ἐξελεύσεται ἐξ ὑμῶν διὰ τοῦ στόματος ὑμῶν ἐν πίστει καὶ ἀγάπῃ, ἔσται εἰς ἐπιστροφὴν καὶ ἐλπίδα πολλοῖς

Perceive how He appointed the water and the cross together. For this is what He means: blessed are those who, hoping upon the cross, went down into the water; for the reward He speaks of is in its season: then, He says, I will repay. But as for what He now says: "the leaves shall not fall off," this means that every word which shall go forth from you through your mouth in faith and love shall be for conversion and hope to many.

你們要看明，祂怎樣把水與十字架放在一處。因為祂是這意思：那些信靠十字架，又下到水裡的人有福了；因為祂所說的賞賜是在自己的時候：祂說，那時我必償還。至於祂如今所說「葉子必不枯乾」這話，意思是說，凡你們憑著信與愛從你們口中所發出的言語，必使許多人得轉回、得盼望。

11:9

καὶ πάλιν ἕτερος προφήτης λέγει. Καὶ ἦν ἡ γῆ τοῦ Ἰακὼβ ἐπαινουμένη παρὰ πᾶσαν τὴν γῆν. τοῦτο λέγει: τὸ σκεῦος τοῦ πνεύματος αὐτοῦ δοξάζει

And again another prophet says: "And the land of Jacob was praised above all the earth." This means: He glorifies the vessel of His Spirit.

另一位先知又說：「雅各的地比全地更受稱讚。」這意思是說：祂榮耀祂那靈的器皿。

11:10

εἶτα τί λέγει; Καὶ ἦν ποταμὸς ἕλκων ἐκ δεξιῶν, καὶ ἀνέβαινεν ἐξ αὐτοῦ δένδρα ὡραῖα: καὶ ὃς ἂν φάγῃ ἐξ αὐτῶν, ζήσεται εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα

Then what does He say? "And there was a river flowing on the right, and out of it rose up beautiful trees; and whoever eats of them shall live forever."

接著祂說甚麼？「有一道河從右邊流出，從中長出佳美的樹木；凡吃這樹上果子的，必永遠活著。」

11:11

τοῦτο λέγει ὅτι ἡμεῖς μὲν καταβαίνομεν εἰς τὸ ὕδωρ γέμοντες ἁμαρτιῶν καὶ ῥύπου, καὶ ἀναβαίνομεν καρποφοροῦντες ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ τὸν φόβον καὶ τὴν ἐλπίδα εἰς τὸν Ἰησοῦν ἐν τῷ πνεύματι ἔχοντες. Καὶ ὃς ἂν φάγῃ ἀπὸ τούτων, ζήσεται εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα, τοῦτο λέγει: ὃς ἄν, φησίν, ἀκούσῃ τούτων λαλουμένων καὶ πιστεύσῃ, ζήσεται εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα

This means that we go down into the water full of sins and filth, and come up bearing fruit in the heart, having fear and hope toward Jesus in the Spirit. "And whoever eats of these shall live forever"—this means: whoever, He says, hears these things spoken and believes, shall live forever.

這意思是說，我們滿載罪污下到水裡，上來時卻在心裡結果子，在靈裡懷著對耶穌的敬畏與盼望。「凡吃這些果子的，必永遠活著」──這意思是說：祂說，凡聽見這些話而相信的，必永遠活著。
