But the way of death is this: first of all, it is evil and full of curse: murders, adulteries, lusts, fornications, thefts, idolatries, magic arts, sorceries, robberies, false testimonies, hypocrisies, double-heartedness, deceit, pride, malice, self-will, covetousness, foul speech, jealousy, audacity, haughtiness, boastfulness.
Persecutors of the good, hating truth, loving lies, not knowing the reward of righteousness, not cleaving to the good nor to righteous judgment, watching not for good but for evil; from whom meekness and patience are far off, loving vanities, pursuing recompense, not pitying the poor, not toiling for the oppressed, not knowing Him who made them, murderers of children, corrupters of God's handiwork, turning away the needy, oppressing the afflicted, advocates of the rich, lawless judges of the poor, utterly sinful. May you be delivered, children, from all these.
