19:1
טֽוֹב־רָ֭שׁ הוֹלֵ֣ךְ בְּתֻמּ֑וֹ מֵעִקֵּ֥שׁ שְׂ֝פָתָ֗יו וְה֣וּא כְסִֽיל׃
Better is the poor who walks in his integrity than he who is perverse in his lips and is a fool.
行為純正的貧窮人 勝過乖謬愚妄的富足人。
19:2
גַּ֤ם בְּלֹא־דַ֣עַת נֶ֣פֶשׁ לֹא־ט֑וֹב וְאָ֖ץ בְּרַגְלַ֣יִם חוֹטֵֽא׃
It isn’t good to have zeal without knowledge, nor to be hasty with one’s feet and miss the way.
心無知識的，乃為不善； 腳步急快的，難免犯罪。
19:3
אִוֶּ֣לֶת אָ֭דָם תְּסַלֵּ֣ף דַּרְכּ֑וֹ וְעַל־יְ֝הֹוָ֗ה יִזְעַ֥ף לִבּֽוֹ׃
The foolishness of man subverts his way; his heart rages against Yahweh.
人的愚昧傾敗他的道； 他的心也抱怨耶和華。
19:4
ה֗וֹן יֹ֭סִיף רֵעִ֣ים רַבִּ֑ים וְ֝דָ֗ל מֵרֵעֵ֥הוּ יִפָּרֵֽד׃
Wealth adds many friends, but the poor is separated from his friend.
財物使朋友增多； 但窮人朋友遠離。
19:5
עֵ֣ד שְׁ֭קָרִים לֹ֣א יִנָּקֶ֑ה וְיָפִ֥יחַ כְּ֝זָבִ֗ים לֹ֣א יִמָּלֵֽט׃
A false witness shall not be unpunished. He who pours out lies shall not go free.
作假見證的，必不免受罰； 吐出謊言的，終不能逃脫。
19:6
רַ֭בִּים יְחַלּ֣וּ פְנֵֽי־נָדִ֑יב וְכׇל־הָ֝רֵ֗עַ לְאִ֣ישׁ מַתָּֽן׃
Many will entreat the favor of a ruler, and everyone is a friend to a man who gives gifts.
好施散的，有多人求他的恩情； 愛送禮的，人都為他的朋友。
19:7
כׇּ֥ל־אֲחֵי־רָ֨שׁ׀ שְֽׂנֵאֻ֗הוּ אַ֤ף כִּ֣י מְ֭רֵעֵהוּ רָחֲק֣וּ מִמֶּ֑נּוּ מְרַדֵּ֖ף אֲמָרִ֣ים (לא) [לוֹ־]הֵֽמָּה׃
All the relatives of the poor shun him; how much more do his friends avoid him! He pursues them with pleas, but they are gone.
貧窮人，弟兄都恨他； 何況他的朋友，更遠離他！ 他用言語追隨，他們卻走了。
19:8
קֹֽנֶה־לֵּ֭ב אֹהֵ֣ב נַפְשׁ֑וֹ שֹׁמֵ֥ר תְּ֝בוּנָ֗ה לִמְצֹא־טֽוֹב׃
He who gets wisdom loves his own soul. He who keeps understanding shall find good.
得着智慧的，愛惜生命； 保守聰明的，必得好處。
19:9
עֵ֣ד שְׁ֭קָרִים לֹ֣א יִנָּקֶ֑ה וְיָפִ֖יחַ כְּזָבִ֣ים יֹאבֵֽד׃ {פ}
A false witness shall not be unpunished. He who utters lies shall perish.
作假見證的，不免受罰； 吐出謊言的，也必滅亡。
19:10
לֹא־נָאוֶ֣ה לִכְסִ֣יל תַּעֲנ֑וּג אַ֝֗ף כִּֽי־לְעֶ֤בֶד׀ מְשֹׁ֬ל בְּשָׂרִֽים׃
Delicate living is not appropriate for a fool, much less for a servant to have rule over princes.
愚昧人宴樂度日是不合宜的； 何況僕人管轄王子呢？
19:11
שֵׂ֣כֶל אָ֭דָם הֶאֱרִ֣יךְ אַפּ֑וֹ וְ֝תִפְאַרְתּ֗וֹ עֲבֹ֣ר עַל־פָּֽשַׁע׃
The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger. It is his glory to overlook an offense.
人有見識就不輕易發怒； 寬恕人的過失便是自己的榮耀。
19:12
נַ֣הַם כַּ֭כְּפִיר זַ֣עַף מֶ֑לֶךְ וּכְטַ֖ל עַל־עֵ֣שֶׂב רְצוֹנֽוֹ׃
The king’s wrath is like the roaring of a lion, but his favor is like dew on the grass.
王的忿怒好像獅子吼叫； 他的恩典卻如草上的甘露。
19:13
הַוֺּ֣ת לְ֭אָבִיו בֵּ֣ן כְּסִ֑יל וְדֶ֥לֶף טֹ֝רֵ֗ד מִדְיְנֵ֥י אִשָּֽׁה׃
A foolish son is the calamity of his father. A wife’s quarrels are a continual dripping.
愚昧的兒子是父親的禍患； 妻子的爭吵如雨連連滴漏。
19:14
בַּ֣יִת וָ֭הוֹן נַחֲלַ֣ת אָב֑וֹת וּ֝מֵיְהֹוָ֗ה אִשָּׁ֥ה מַשְׂכָּֽלֶת׃
House and riches are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from Yahweh.
房屋錢財是祖宗所遺留的； 惟有賢慧的妻是耶和華所賜的。
19:15
עַ֭צְלָה תַּפִּ֣יל תַּרְדֵּמָ֑ה וְנֶ֖פֶשׁ רְמִיָּ֣ה תִרְעָֽב׃
Slothfulness casts into a deep sleep. The idle soul shall suffer hunger.
懶惰使人沉睡； 懈怠的人必受飢餓。
19:16
שֹׁמֵ֣ר מִ֭צְוָה שֹׁמֵ֣ר נַפְשׁ֑וֹ בּוֹזֵ֖ה דְרָכָ֣יו (יומת) [יָמֽוּת]׃
He who keeps the commandment keeps his soul, but he who is contemptuous in his ways shall die.
謹守誡命的，保全生命； 輕忽己路的，必致死亡。
19:17
מַלְוֵ֣ה יְ֭הֹוָה ח֣וֹנֵֽן דָּ֑ל וּ֝גְמֻל֗וֹ יְשַׁלֶּם־לֽוֹ׃
He who has pity on the poor lends to Yahweh; he will reward him.
憐憫貧窮的，就是借給耶和華； 他的善行，耶和華必償還。
19:18
יַסֵּ֣ר בִּ֭נְךָ כִּֽי־יֵ֣שׁ תִּקְוָ֑ה וְאֶל־הֲ֝מִית֗וֹ אַל־תִּשָּׂ֥א נַפְשֶֽׁךָ׃
Discipline your son, for there is hope; don’t be a willing party to his death.
趁有指望，管教你的兒子； 你的心不可任他死亡。
19:19
(גרל) [גְּֽדׇל־]חֵ֭מָה נֹ֣שֵׂא עֹ֑נֶשׁ כִּ֥י אִם־תַּ֝צִּ֗יל וְע֣וֹד תּוֹסִֽף׃
A hot-tempered man must pay the penalty, for if you rescue him, you must do it again.
暴怒的人必受刑罰； 你若救他，必須再救。
19:20
שְׁמַ֣ע עֵ֭צָה וְקַבֵּ֣ל מוּסָ֑ר לְ֝מַ֗עַן תֶּחְכַּ֥ם בְּאַחֲרִיתֶֽךָ׃
Listen to counsel and receive instruction, that you may be wise in your latter end.
你要聽勸教，受訓誨， 使你終久有智慧。
19:21
רַבּ֣וֹת מַחֲשָׁב֣וֹת בְּלֶב־אִ֑ישׁ וַעֲצַ֥ת יְ֝הֹוָ֗ה הִ֣יא תָקֽוּם׃
There are many plans in a man’s heart, but Yahweh’s counsel will prevail.
人心多有計謀； 惟有耶和華的籌算才能立定。
19:22
תַּאֲוַ֣ת אָדָ֣ם חַסְדּ֑וֹ וְטֽוֹב־רָ֝֗שׁ מֵאִ֥ישׁ כָּזָֽב׃
That which makes a man to be desired is his kindness. A poor man is better than a liar.
施行仁慈的，令人愛慕； 窮人強如說謊言的。
19:23
יִרְאַ֣ת יְהֹוָ֣ה לְחַיִּ֑ים וְשָׂבֵ֥עַ יָ֝לִ֗ין בַּל־יִפָּ֥קֶד רָֽע׃
The fear of Yahweh leads to life, then contentment; he rests and will not be touched by trouble.
敬畏耶和華的，得着生命； 他必恆久知足，不遭禍患。
19:24
טָ֘מַ֤ן עָצֵ֣ל יָ֭דוֹ בַּצַּלָּ֑חַת גַּם־אֶל־פִּ֝֗יהוּ לֹ֣א יְשִׁיבֶֽנָּה׃
The sluggard buries his hand in the dish; he will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.
懶惰人放手在盤子裏， 就是向口撤回，他也不肯。
19:25
לֵ֣ץ תַּ֭כֶּה וּפֶ֣תִי יַעְרִ֑ם וְהוֹכִ֥יחַ לְ֝נָב֗וֹן יָבִ֥ין דָּֽעַת׃
Flog a scoffer, and the simple will learn prudence; rebuke one who has understanding, and he will gain knowledge.
鞭打褻慢人，愚蒙人必長見識； 責備明哲人，他就明白知識。
19:26
מְֽשַׁדֶּד־אָ֭ב יַבְרִ֣יחַ אֵ֑ם בֵּ֝֗ן מֵבִ֥ישׁ וּמַחְפִּֽיר׃
He who robs his father and drives away his mother is a son who causes shame and brings reproach.
虐待父親、攆出母親的， 是貽羞致辱之子。
19:27
חֲֽדַל־בְּ֭נִי לִשְׁמֹ֣עַ מוּסָ֑ר לִ֝שְׁג֗וֹת מֵאִמְרֵי־דָֽעַת׃
If you stop listening to instruction, my son, you will stray from the words of knowledge.
我兒，不可聽了教訓 而又偏離知識的言語。
19:28
עֵ֣ד בְּ֭לִיַּעַל יָלִ֣יץ מִשְׁפָּ֑ט וּפִ֥י רְ֝שָׁעִ֗ים יְבַלַּע־אָֽוֶן׃
A corrupt witness mocks justice, and the mouth of the wicked gulps down iniquity.
匪徒作見證戲笑公平； 惡人的口吞下罪孽。
19:29
נָכ֣וֹנוּ לַלֵּצִ֣ים שְׁפָטִ֑ים וּ֝מַהֲלֻמ֗וֹת לְגֵ֣ו כְּסִילִֽים׃
Penalties are prepared for scoffers, and beatings for the backs of fools.
刑罰是為褻慢人預備的； 鞭打是為愚昧人的背預備的。
