29:1
אִ֣ישׁ תּ֭וֹכָחוֹת מַקְשֶׁה־עֹ֑רֶף פֶּ֥תַע יִ֝שָּׁבֵ֗ר וְאֵ֣ין מַרְפֵּֽא׃
He who is often rebuked and stiffens his neck will be destroyed suddenly, with no remedy.
人屢次受責罰，仍然硬着頸項； 他必頃刻敗壞，無法可治。
29:2
בִּרְב֣וֹת צַ֭דִּיקִים יִשְׂמַ֣ח הָעָ֑ם וּבִמְשֹׁ֥ל רָ֝שָׁ֗ע יֵאָ֥נַֽח עָֽם׃
When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; but when the wicked rule, the people groan.
義人增多，民就喜樂； 惡人掌權，民就歎息。
29:3
אִישׁ־אֹהֵ֣ב חׇ֭כְמָה יְשַׂמַּ֣ח אָבִ֑יו וְרֹעֶ֥ה ז֝וֹנ֗וֹת יְאַבֶּד־הֽוֹן׃
Whoever loves wisdom brings joy to his father; but a companion of prostitutes squanders his wealth.
愛慕智慧的，使父親喜樂； 與妓女結交的，卻浪費錢財。
29:4
מֶ֗לֶךְ בְּ֭מִשְׁפָּט יַעֲמִ֣יד אָ֑רֶץ וְאִ֖ישׁ תְּרוּמ֣וֹת יֶהֶרְסֶֽנָּה׃
The king by justice makes the land stable, but he who takes bribes tears it down.
王藉公平，使國堅定； 索要賄賂，使國傾敗。
29:5
גֶּ֭בֶר מַחֲלִ֣יק עַל־רֵעֵ֑הוּ רֶ֝֗שֶׁת פּוֹרֵ֥שׂ עַל־פְּעָמָֽיו׃
A man who flatters his neighbor spreads a net for his feet.
諂媚鄰舍的， 就是設網羅絆他的腳。
29:6
בְּפֶ֤שַֽׁע אִ֣ישׁ רָ֣ע מוֹקֵ֑שׁ וְ֝צַדִּ֗יק יָר֥וּן וְשָׂמֵֽחַ׃
An evil man is snared by his sin, but the righteous can sing and be glad.
惡人犯罪，自陷網羅； 惟獨義人歡呼喜樂。
29:7
יֹדֵ֣עַ צַ֭דִּיק דִּ֣ין דַּלִּ֑ים רָ֝שָׁ֗ע לֹא־יָבִ֥ין דָּֽעַת׃
The righteous care about justice for the poor. The wicked aren’t concerned about knowledge.
義人知道查明窮人的案； 惡人沒有聰明，就不得而知。
29:8
אַנְשֵׁ֣י לָ֭צוֹן יָפִ֣יחוּ קִרְיָ֑ה וַ֝חֲכָמִ֗ים יָשִׁ֥יבוּ אָֽף׃
Mockers stir up a city, but wise men turn away anger.
褻慢人煽惑通城； 智慧人止息眾怒。
29:9
אִֽישׁ־חָכָ֗ם נִ֭שְׁפָּט אֶת־אִ֣ישׁ אֱוִ֑יל וְרָגַ֥ז וְ֝שָׂחַ֗ק וְאֵ֣ין נָֽחַת׃
If a wise man goes to court with a foolish man, the fool rages or scoffs, and there is no peace.
智慧人與愚妄人相爭， 或怒或笑，總不能使他止息。
29:10
אַנְשֵׁ֣י דָ֭מִים יִשְׂנְאוּ־תָ֑ם וִ֝ישָׁרִ֗ים יְבַקְשׁ֥וּ נַפְשֽׁוֹ׃
The bloodthirsty hate a man of integrity; and they seek the life of the upright.
好流人血的，恨惡完全人， 索取正直人的性命。
29:11
כׇּל־ר֭וּחוֹ יוֹצִ֣יא כְסִ֑יל וְ֝חָכָ֗ם בְּאָח֥וֹר יְשַׁבְּחֶֽנָּה׃
A fool vents all of his anger, but a wise man brings himself under control.
愚妄人怒氣全發； 智慧人忍氣含怒。
29:12
מֹ֭שֵׁל מַקְשִׁ֣יב עַל־דְּבַר־שָׁ֑קֶר כׇּֽל־מְשָׁרְתָ֥יו רְשָׁעִֽים׃
If a ruler listens to lies, all of his officials are wicked.
君王若聽謊言， 他一切臣僕都是奸惡。
29:13
רָ֤שׁ וְאִ֣ישׁ תְּכָכִ֣ים נִפְגָּ֑שׁוּ מֵ֤אִיר־עֵינֵ֖י שְׁנֵיהֶ֣ם יְהֹוָֽה׃
The poor man and the oppressor have this in common: Yahweh gives sight to the eyes of both.
貧窮人、強暴人在世相遇； 他們的眼目都蒙耶和華光照。
29:14
מֶ֤לֶךְ שׁוֹפֵ֣ט בֶּאֱמֶ֣ת דַּלִּ֑ים כִּ֝סְא֗וֹ לָעַ֥ד יִכּֽוֹן׃
The king who fairly judges the poor, his throne shall be established forever.
君王憑誠實判斷窮人； 他的國位必永遠堅立。
29:15
שֵׁ֣בֶט וְ֭תוֹכַחַת יִתֵּ֣ן חׇכְמָ֑ה וְנַ֥עַר מְ֝שֻׁלָּ֗ח מֵבִ֥ישׁ אִמּֽוֹ׃
The rod of correction gives wisdom, but a child left to himself causes shame to his mother.
杖打和責備能加增智慧； 放縱的兒子使母親羞愧。
29:16
בִּרְב֣וֹת רְ֭שָׁעִים יִרְבֶּה־פָּ֑שַׁע וְ֝צַדִּיקִ֗ים בְּֽמַפַּלְתָּ֥ם יִרְאֽוּ׃
When the wicked increase, sin increases; but the righteous will see their downfall.
惡人加多，過犯也加多， 義人必看見他們跌倒。
29:17
יַסֵּ֣ר בִּ֭נְךָ וִינִיחֶ֑ךָ וְיִתֵּ֖ן מַעֲדַנִּ֣ים לְנַפְשֶֽׁךָ׃ {פ}
Correct your son, and he will give you peace; yes, he will bring delight to your soul.
管教你的兒子，他就使你得安息， 也必使你心裏喜樂。
29:18
בְּאֵ֣ין חָ֭זוֹן יִפָּ֣רַֽע עָ֑ם וְשֹׁמֵ֖ר תּוֹרָ֣ה אַשְׁרֵֽהוּ׃
Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; but one who keeps the law is blessed.
沒有異象 ，民就放肆； 惟遵守律法的，便為有福。
29:19
בִּ֭דְבָרִים לֹא־יִוָּ֣סֶר עָ֑בֶד כִּי־יָ֝בִ֗ין וְאֵ֣ין מַעֲנֶֽה׃
A servant can’t be corrected by words. Though he understands, yet he will not respond.
只用言語，僕人不肯受管教； 他雖然明白，也不留意。
29:20
חָזִ֗יתָ אִ֭ישׁ אָ֣ץ בִּדְבָרָ֑יו תִּקְוָ֖ה לִכְסִ֣יל מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃
Do you see a man who is hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him.
你見言語急躁的人嗎？ 愚昧人比他更有指望。
29:21
מְפַנֵּ֣ק מִנֹּ֣עַר עַבְדּ֑וֹ וְ֝אַחֲרִית֗וֹ יִהְיֶ֥ה מָנֽוֹן׃
He who pampers his servant from youth will have him become a son in the end.
人將僕人從小嬌養， 這僕人終久必成了他的兒子。
29:22
אִֽישׁ־אַ֭ף יְגָרֶ֣ה מָד֑וֹן וּבַ֖עַל חֵמָ֣ה רַב־פָּֽשַׁע׃
An angry man stirs up strife, and a wrathful man abounds in sin.
好氣的人挑啟爭端； 暴怒的人多多犯罪。
29:23
גַּאֲוַ֣ת אָ֭דָם תַּשְׁפִּילֶ֑נּוּ וּשְׁפַל־ר֝֗וּחַ יִתְמֹ֥ךְ כָּבֽוֹד׃
A man’s pride brings him low, but one of lowly spirit gains honor.
人的高傲必使他卑下； 心裏謙遜的，必得尊榮。
29:24
חוֹלֵ֣ק עִם־גַּ֭נָּב שׂוֹנֵ֣א נַפְשׁ֑וֹ אָלָ֥ה יִ֝שְׁמַ֗ע וְלֹ֣א יַגִּֽיד׃
Whoever is an accomplice of a thief is an enemy of his own soul. He takes an oath, but dares not testify.
人與盜賊分贓，是恨惡自己的性命； 他聽見叫人發誓的聲音，卻不言語。
29:25
חֶרְדַּ֣ת אָ֭דָם יִתֵּ֣ן מוֹקֵ֑שׁ וּבוֹטֵ֖חַ בַּיהֹוָ֣ה יְשֻׂגָּֽב׃
The fear of man proves to be a snare, but whoever puts his trust in Yahweh is kept safe.
懼怕人的，陷入網羅； 惟有倚靠耶和華的，必得安穩。
29:26
רַ֭בִּים מְבַקְשִׁ֣ים פְּנֵֽי־מוֹשֵׁ֑ל וּ֝מֵיְהֹוָ֗ה מִשְׁפַּט־אִֽישׁ׃
Many seek the ruler’s favor, but a man’s justice comes from Yahweh.
求王恩的人多； 定人事乃在耶和華。
29:27
תּוֹעֲבַ֣ת צַ֭דִּיקִים אִ֣ישׁ עָ֑וֶל וְתוֹעֲבַ֖ת רָשָׁ֣ע יְשַׁר־דָּֽרֶךְ׃ {פ}
A dishonest man detests the righteous, and the upright in their ways detest the wicked.
為非作歹的，被義人憎嫌； 行事正直的，被惡人憎惡。
