18:1
[ወከነ፡ ሶበ፡ ፈጸመ፡ ተናግር፡ ኀበ፡ ሳኦል፡ ወነፍሰ፡ ዮናታን፡ ተአስረ፡ በነፍስ፡ ዳዊት፡ ወአፍቀሮ፡ ዮናታን፡ ከመ፡ ነፍሱ።
大衛對掃羅說完了話，約拿單的心與大衛的心深相契合。約拿單愛大衛，如同愛自己的性命。
When he had finished speaking to Saul, the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.
18:2
ወነሥኦ፡ ሳኦል፡ በውእቱ፡ ዕለት፡ ወኢወሀቦ፡ ከመ፡ ይትመየጥ፡ ቤተ፡ አቡሁ።
那日掃羅留住大衛，不容他再回父家。
Saul took him that day, and wouldn’t let him go home to his father’s house any more.
18:3
ወተካየዱ፡ ዮናታን፡ ወዳዊት፡ ኪዳነ፡ ሶበ፡ አፍቀሮ፡ ከመ፡ ነፍሱ።
約拿單愛大衛如同愛自己的性命，就與他結盟。
Then Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul.
18:4
ወአውረደ፡ ዮናታን፡ ዐፅፈ፡ ዘላዕሌሁ፡ ወወሀቦ፡ ለዳዊት፡ ወማዳዮሂ፡ ወሰይፎ፡ ወእስከ፡ ቀስቱ፡ ወቅናቱ።
約拿單從身上脫下外袍，給了大衛，又將戰衣、刀、弓、腰帶都給了他。
Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that was on him and gave it to David with his clothing, even including his sword, his bow, and his sash.
18:5
ወይወፅእ፡ ዳዊት፡ ኀበ፡ ኵሉ፡ ዘፈነዎ፡ ሳኦል፡ ወይጠብብ፡ ወያአምር፡ ወሤሞ፡ ላዕለ፡ ዕደው፡ መስተቃትላን፡ ወአደሞ፡ በቅድመ፡ አዕይንቲሁ፡ ወበቅድመ፡ አዕይንቲሆሙ፡ ለደቂቀ፡ ሳኦል።
掃羅無論差遣大衛往何處去，他都做事精明。掃羅就立他作戰士長，眾百姓和掃羅的臣僕無不喜悅。
David went out wherever Saul sent him, and behaved himself wisely; and Saul set him over the men of war. It was good in the sight of all the people, and also in the sight of Saul’s servants.
18:6
ወሶበ፡ ተመይጠ፡ ዳዊት፡ እምኀበ፡ ቀተሎ፡ ለኢሎፍላዊ፡] ወወፅኣ፡ ሐላይያት፡ ወተቀበላሁ፡ ለዳዊት፡ እምነ፡ ኵሉ፡ አህጉረ፡ እስራኤል፡ በከበሮ፡ ወበትፍሥሕት፡ ወበማሕሌት።
大衛打死了那非利士人，同眾人回來的時候，婦女們從以色列各城裏出來，歡歡喜喜，打鼓擊磬，歌唱跳舞，迎接掃羅王。
As they came, when David returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, the women came out of all the cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet King Saul with tambourines, with joy, and with instruments of music.
18:7
ወሐለያ፡ አንስት፡ ወይቤላ፡ ቀተለ፡ ሳኦል፡ ዐሠርተ፡ ምእተ፡ ወዳዊት፡ ቀተለ፡ እልፈ።
眾婦女舞蹈唱和，說：「掃羅殺死千千，大衛殺死萬萬。」
The women sang to one another as they played, and said, “Saul has slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands.”
18:8
ወእኩየ፡ ኮነ፡ ዝንቱ፡ ነገር፡ ቅድመ፡ አዕይንቲሁ፡ ለሳኦል፡ [ወይቤ፡ ሳኦል፡ ኦግብኣ፡ ለዳዊት፡ ፼ወሊተ፡ ፲፻፡]፡
掃羅甚發怒，不喜悅這話，就說：「將萬萬歸大衛，千千歸我，只剩下王位沒有給他了。」
Saul was very angry, and this saying displeased him. He said, “They have credited David with ten thousands, and they have only credited me with thousands. What can he have more but the kingdom?”
18:9
ወእምይእቲ፡ ዕለት፡ ይጸንሖ፡ ሳኦል፡ ለዳዊት፡ ወኵሎ፡ ኦሚረ።
從這日起，掃羅就怒視大衛。
Saul watched David from that day and forward.
18:12
ወፈርሀ፡ ሳኦል፡ እምቅድመ፡ ገጹ፡ ለዳዊት።
掃羅懼怕大衛；因為耶和華離開自己，與大衛同在。
Saul was afraid of David, because Yahweh was with him, and had departed from Saul.
18:13
ወአርሐቆ፡ እምኀቤሁ፡ ወሜሞ፡ መስፍነ፡ ወይበውእ፡ ወይወጽእ፡ ቅድመ፡ ሕዝብ።
所以掃羅使大衛離開自己，立他為千夫長，他就領兵出入。
Therefore Saul removed him from his presence, and made him his captain over a thousand; and he went out and came in before the people.
18:14
ወዳዊትሰ፡ ጠቢብ፡ ውእቱ፡ ወማእምር፡ በኵሉ፡ ፍናዊሁ፡ ወእግዚአብሔር፡ ሀሎ፡ ምስሌሁ።
大衛做事無不精明，耶和華也與他同在。
David behaved himself wisely in all his ways; and Yahweh was with him.
18:15
ወሶበ፡ ርእዮ፡ ሳኦል፡ ከመ፡ ጠቢብ፡ ውእቱ፡ ፈርሀ፡ ጥቀ፡ እምቅድመ፡ ገጹ።
掃羅見大衛做事精明，就甚怕他。
When Saul saw that he behaved himself very wisely, he stood in awe of him.
18:16
ወኵሉ፡ እስራኤል፡ ወይሁዳ፡ ያፈቅርዎ፡ ለዳዊት፡ እስመ፡ ውእቱ፡ ይበውእ፡ ወይወፅእ፡ ቅድመ፡ ገጾሙ፡ ለሕዝብ።
但以色列和猶大眾人都愛大衛，因為他領他們出入。
But all Israel and Judah loved David; for he went out and came in before them.
18:17
[ወይቤሎ፡ ሳኦል፡ ለዳዊት፡ ነያ፡ ወለትየ፡ እንተ፡ ተዐቢ።
掃羅對大衛說：「我將大女兒米拉給你為妻，只要你為我奮勇，為耶和華爭戰。」掃羅心裏說：「我不好親手害他，要藉非利士人的手害他。」
Saul said to David, “Behold, my elder daughter Merab. I will give her to you as wife. Only be valiant for me, and fight Yahweh’s battles.” For Saul said, “Don’t let my hand be on him, but let the hand of the Philistines be on him.”
18:18
ሜሮብ ፤ ኪያሃ፡ እሁበከ፡ ብእሲተ፡ ወባሕቱ፡ ኩን፡ ሊተ፡ ወልደ፡ ኀይል፡ ወተቃተል፡ ምስለ፡ መስተቃትላነ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፤ ወሳኦል፡ ይዜ፡ ኢትኩን፡ እዴየ፡ ላዕሌሁ፡ ወትኩን፡ ላዕሌሁ፡ እደ፡ ኢሎፍሊ።
大衛對掃羅說：「我是誰，我是甚麼出身，我父家在以色列中是何等的家，豈敢作王的女婿呢？」
David said to Saul, “Who am I, and what is my life, or my father’s family in Israel, that I should be son-in-law to the king?”
18:19
ወይቤሎ፡ ዳዊት፡ ለሳኦል፡ መኑ፡ አነ፡ ወምንት፡ ሕይወትየ፡ እምሕዝበ፡ አቡየ፡ ውስተ፡ እስራኤል፡ ከመ፡ እትሐመዎ፡ ለንጉሥ።
掃羅的女兒米拉到了當給大衛的時候，掃羅卻給了米何拉人亞得列為妻。
But at the time when Merab, Saul’s daughter, should have been given to David, she was given to Adriel the Meholathite as wife.
18:20
ወኮነ፡ በጊዜ፡ ዘትትወሀብ፡ ሜሮብ፡ ወለተ፡ ሳኦል፡ ለዳዊት፡ ተውህበት፡ ይእቲ፡ ለአዲራኤል፡ ሜሆላዊ።] ወኦፍቀረቶ፡ ሜልኮል፡ ወለተ፡ ሳኦል፡ ለዳዊት፡ ወአይድዕዎ፡ ለሳኦል፡ ወአደሞ፡ ቅድመ፡ አዕይንቲሁ።
掃羅的次女米甲愛大衛。有人告訴掃羅，掃羅就喜悅。
Michal, Saul’s daughter, loved David; and they told Saul, and the thing pleased him.
18:21
ወይቤ፡ ሳኦል፡ እሁቦ፡ ኪያሃ፡ ወትከውኖ፡ ዕቅፍተ ፤ ወሀለወት፡ ላዕለ፡ ሳኦል፡ እዴሁ፡ ለኢሎፍሊ።
掃羅心裏說：「我將這女兒給大衛，作他的網羅，好藉非利士人的手害他。」所以掃羅對大衛說：「你今日可以第二次作我的女婿。」
Saul said, I will give her to him, that she may be a snare to him and that the hand of the Philistines may be against him. Therefore Saul said to David a second time, “You shall today be my son-in-law.”
18:22
ወአዘዞሙ፡ ሳኦል፡ ለደቁ፡ ወይቤሎሙ፡ በልዎ፡ ጽምሚተ፡ ለዳዊት፡ ንጉሥ፡ ያፈቅረከ፡ ወሰብኡኒ፡ ኵሎሙ፡ ያፈቅሩከ፡ ወአንተኒ፡ ተሐመዎ፡ ለንጉሥ።
掃羅吩咐臣僕說：「你們暗中對大衛說：『王喜悅你，王的臣僕也都喜愛你，所以你當作王的女婿。』」
Saul commanded his servants, “Talk with David secretly, and say, ‘Behold, the king has delight in you, and all his servants love you. Now therefore be the king’s son-in-law.’”
18:23
ወተናገርዎ፡ ደቀ፡ ሳኦል፡ ለዳዊት፡ ዘንተ፡ ነገረ፡ ወይቤሎሙ፡ ዳዊት፡ ይረትዐክሙኑ፡ ከመ፡ እትሐመዎ፡ ለንጉሥ ፤ አነ፡ ብእሲ፡ ትሑት፡ ዘኢኮንኩ፡ ክቡረ።
掃羅的臣僕就照這話說給大衛聽。大衛說：「你們以為作王的女婿是一件小事嗎？我是貧窮卑微的人。」
Saul’s servants spoke those words in the ears of David. David said, “Does it seem to you a light thing to be the king’s son-in-law, since I am a poor man and little known?”
18:24
ወአይድዕዎ፡ ደቁ፡ ለሳኦል፡ ዘንተ፡ ነገረ፡ ዘይቤ፡ ዳዊት።
掃羅的臣僕回奏說，大衛所說的如此如此。
The servants of Saul told him, saying, “David spoke like this.”
18:25
ወይቤሎሙ፡ ሳኦል፡ በልዎ፡ ለዳዊት፡ ኢይፈቅድ፡ ንጉሥ፡ ሀብተ፡ አላ፡ ፻ቈላፋነ፡ እምውስተ፡ ኢሎፍሊ፡ ከመ፡ ይትበቀሉ፡ ሎቱ፡ ፀሮ፡ ለንጉሥ ፤ ወሳኦልሰ፡ ኀለየ፡ ዘከመ፡ ያገብኦ፡ ውስተ፡ እዴሆሙ፡ ለኢሎፍሊ።
掃羅說：「你們要對大衛這樣說：『王不要甚麼聘禮，只要一百非利士人的陽皮，好在王的仇敵身上報仇。』」掃羅的意思要使大衛喪在非利士人的手裏。
Saul said, “Tell David, ‘The king desires no dowry except one hundred foreskins of the Philistines, to be avenged of the king’s enemies.’” Now Saul thought he would make David fall by the hand of the Philistines.
18:26
ወነገርዎ፡ ደቀ፡ ሳኦል፡ ለዳዊት፡ ዘንተ፡ ነገረ፡ ወአደሞ፡ ቅድመ፡ አዕይንቲሁ፡ ለዳዊት፡ ከመ፡ ይትሐመዎ፡ ለንጉሥ።
掃羅的臣僕將這話告訴大衛，大衛就歡喜作王的女婿。日期還沒有到，
When his servants told David these words, it pleased David well to be the king’s son-in-law. Before the deadline,
18:27
ወተንሥአ፡ ዳዊት፡ ወሖረ፡ ምስለ፡ ሰብኡ፡ ወቀተለ፡ እምውስተ፡ ኢሎፍሊ፡ ፻ብእሴ ፤ ወወሰደ፡ ቍልፈተ፡ ነፍስቶሙ፡ ለንጉሥ፡ ወተሐመዎ፡ ለንጉሥ፡ ወወሀቦ፡ ሜልኮልሃ፡ ወለቶ፡ ትኩኖ፡ ብእሲቶ።
大衛和跟隨他的人起身前往，殺了二百非利士人，將陽皮滿數交給王，為要作王的女婿。於是掃羅將女兒米甲給大衛為妻。
David arose and went, he and his men, and killed two hundred men of the Philistines. Then David brought their foreskins, and they gave them in full number to the king, that he might be the king’s son-in-law. Then Saul gave him Michal his daughter as wife.
18:28
ወርእየ፡ ሳኦል፡ ከመ፡ ሀለወ፡ እግዚአብሔር፡ ምስለ፡ ዳዊት፡ ወኵሉ፡ እስራኤል፡ ያፈቅሮ።
掃羅見耶和華與大衛同在，又知道女兒米甲愛大衛，
Saul saw and knew that Yahweh was with David; and Michal, Saul’s daughter, loved him.
18:29
ወይፈርሆ፡ እንከ፡ ለዳዊት፡ ፈድፋደ።
就更怕大衛，常作大衛的仇敵。
Saul was even more afraid of David; and Saul was David’s enemy continually.
