14:1
ወእምዝ ሖረ ወቦአ ቤተ አሐዱ ብእሲ እምነ መልአኮሙ ለፈሪሳውያን በሰንበት ከመ ይብላዕ እክለ ወእሙንቱሰ ይትዐቀብዎ።
安息日，耶穌到一個法利賽人的首領家裏去吃飯，他們就窺探他。
When he went into the house of one of the rulers of the Pharisees on a Sabbath to eat bread, they were watching him.
14:2
ወሀሎ አሐዱ ብእሲ ቅብው ቅድሜሁ።
在他面前有一個患水臌的人。
Behold, a certain man who had dropsy was in front of him.
14:3
ወአውሥአ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ወተስእሎሙ ለጸሐፍተ ሀገር ወለፈሪሳውያን እንዘ ይብል ይከውንሁ በሰንበት ፈውሶ ወሚመ ኢይከውንሁ።
耶穌對律法師和法利賽人說：「安息日治病可以不可以？」
Jesus, answering, spoke to the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”
14:4
ወአርመሙ ወነሥኦ ወፈወሶ ወፈነዎ።
他們卻不言語。耶穌就治好那人，叫他走了；
But they were silent. He took him, and healed him, and let him go.
14:5
ወይቤሎሙ እመቦ አሐዱ እምኔክሙ ለእመ ወድቆ ላሕሙ አው አድጉ ውስተ ዐዘቅት አኮኑ በጊዜሃ ያነሥኦ በዕለተ ሰንበት።
便對他們說：「你們中間誰有驢或有牛，在安息日掉在井裏，不立時拉牠上來呢？」
He answered them, “Which of you, if your son or an ox fell into a well, wouldn’t immediately pull him out on a Sabbath day?”
14:6
ወስእኑ አውሥኦቶ በእንተ ዝንቱ ነገር።
他們不能對答這話。
They couldn’t answer him regarding these things.
14:7
ወይቤሎሙ ለእለ ሀለዉ ውስተ ምሳሕ ወመሰለ ሎሙ ወመሀሮሙ ሶበ ርእዮሙ እንዘ ይትባደሩ ውስተ ርእሰ ምርፋቅ።
耶穌見所請的客揀擇首位，就用比喻對他們說：
He spoke a parable to those who were invited, when he noticed how they chose the best seats, and said to them,
14:8
ወይቤሎሙ እመቦ ዘጸውዐከ ውስተ ምሳሕ ወሖርከ ኢትርፍቅ ውስተ ርእሰ ምርፋቅ ክቡር እመቦ ዮጊ ይመጽእ ዘይከብረከ።
「你被人請去赴婚姻的筵席，不要坐在首位上，恐怕有比你尊貴的客被他請來；
“When you are invited by anyone to a wedding feast, don’t sit in the best seat, since perhaps someone more honorable than you might be invited by him,
14:9
እስመ መጺኦ ድኅረ ይብለከ ዝኩ ዘጸውዐከ ኅድግ ሎቱ ዘንተ ገጸ ወትገብእ ወትትኀፈር ውእተ ጊዜ ወትወርድ ውስተ ምርፋቅ ዘይቴሐት።
那請你們的人前來對你說：『讓座給這一位吧！』你就羞羞慚慚地退到末位上去了。
and he who invited both of you would come and tell you, ‘Make room for this person.’ Then you would begin, with shame, to take the lowest place.
14:10
ወእመሰ ቦ ዘጸውዐከ ወሖርከ ርፍቅ ውስተ ታሕታይ ምርፋቅ ከመ ሶበ መጽአ ዘጸውዐከ ይበልከ ዐርክየ ዕርግ ውስተ ዘይትሌዐል ምርፋቅ ወውእተ ጊዜ ይከውነከ ክብረ በቅድመ ኵሎሙ እለ ይረፍቁ ወይመስሑ ምስሌከ።
你被請的時候，就去坐在末位上，好叫那請你的人來對你說：『朋友，請上座。』那時，你在同席的人面前就有光彩了。
But when you are invited, go and sit in the lowest place, so that when he who invited you comes, he may tell you, ‘Friend, move up higher.’ Then you will be honored in the presence of all who sit at the table with you.
14:11
እስመ ኵሉ ዘአዕበየ ርእሶ የኀሥር ወዘአትሐተ ርእሶ ይከብር።
因為，凡自高的，必降為卑；自卑的，必升為高。」
For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.”
14:12
ወይቤሎ ለዘጸውዖ ሶበ ትገብር በዓለ ወምሳሐ አው ድራረ ኢትጸውዕ አዕርክቲክ ወአኀዊከ ወአዝማዲከ ወጎረከ ወቢጸከ አብዕልተ ከመ ይጸውዑከ እሙንቱሂ ወይከውነከ ፍዳ በኀቤሆሙ።
耶穌又對請他的人說：「你擺設午飯或晚飯，不要請你的朋友、弟兄、親屬，和富足的鄰舍，恐怕他們也請你，你就得了報答。
He also said to the one who had invited him, “When you make a dinner or a supper, don’t call your friends, nor your brothers, nor your kinsmen, nor rich neighbors, or perhaps they might also return the favor, and pay you back.
14:13
አላ ሶበ ትገብር በዓለ ወምሳሐ ጸውዕ ነዳያነ ወምስኪናነ ወዕዉራነ ወስቡራነ።
你擺設筵席，倒要請那貧窮的、殘廢的、瘸腿的、瞎眼的，你就有福了！
But when you make a feast, ask the poor, the maimed, the lame, or the blind;
14:14
ወብፁዕ አንተ እስመ አልቦሙ ዘይፈድዩከ ወባሕቱ ትትዐሠይ አመ ይትነሥኡ ጻድቃን።
因為他們沒有甚麼可報答你。到義人復活的時候，你要得着報答。」
and you will be blessed, because they don’t have the resources to repay you. For you will be repaid in the resurrection of the righteous.”
14:15
ወሰሚዖ ዘንተ አሐዱ እምእለ ይረፍቁ ይቤሎ ብፁዕ ውእቱ ዘይበልዕ እክለ በመንግሥተ እግዚአብሔር።
同席的有一人聽見這話，就對耶穌說：「在上帝國裏吃飯的有福了！」
When one of those who sat at the table with him heard these things, he said to him, “Blessed is he who will feast in God’s Kingdom!”
14:16
ወይቤሎሙ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ አሐዱ ብእሲ ገብረ ምሳሐ ዐቢየ ወዐሠሮሙ ለብዙኃን።
耶穌對他說：「有一人擺設大筵席，請了許多客。
But he said to him, “A certain man made a great supper, and he invited many people.
14:17
ወሶበ በጽሐ ዐሡር ፈነወ ገብሮ ይጸውዖሙ ለእለ ዐሠሮሙ ወሶበ በጽሐ ጊዜ ምሳሕ ሖረ ገብሩ ወይቤሎሙ ለእለ ዐሠሮሙ ንዑ እስመ ወዳእነ አስተዳለውነ ምሳሐ።
到了坐席的時候，打發僕人去對所請的人說：『請來吧！樣樣都齊備了。』
He sent out his servant at supper time to tell those who were invited, ‘Come, for everything is ready now.’
14:18
ወአበይዎ ኵሎሙ ኅቡረ በአሐዱ ቃል ወይቤሎ ቀዳማዊ ገራህተ ተሣየጥኩ ወእጽሕቅ ከመ እፃእ ወእሑር እርአያ ወበሎ ረሲ ሊተ ከመ ዘኢአበይኩ።
眾人一口同音地推辭。頭一個說：『我買了一塊地，必須去看看。請你准我辭了。』
They all as one began to make excuses. “The first said to him, ‘I have bought a field, and I must go and see it. Please have me excused.’
14:19
ወይቤሎ ካልኡኒ ኀምስተ ፅምደ አልሕምት ተሣየጥኩ ወአሐውር እርአዮሙ ወእፍትኖሙ ወበሎ ረሲ ሊተ ከመ ዘመጻእኩ ወኢአበይኩ።
又有一個說：『我買了五對牛，要去試一試。請你准我辭了。』
“Another said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I must go try them out. Please have me excused.’
14:20
ወሣልሱኒ ይቤሎ ብእሲተ አውሰብኩ ወበእንተዝ ኢይክል መጺአ።
又有一個說：『我才娶了妻，所以不能去。』
“Another said, ‘I have married a wife, and therefore I can’t come.’
14:21
ወገብአ ገብሩ ወነገሮ ከመዝ ለእግዚኡ ወእምዝ ተምዐ በዓለ ቤት ይእተ ጊዜ ወይቤሎ ለገብሩ ሑር ፍጡነ ውስተ መራሕብት ወውስተ አስኳተ ሀገር ወአምጽእ ሊተ ዝየ ነዳያነ ወጽኑሳነ ወምስኪናነ ወዕዉራነ ወስቡራነ።
那僕人回來，把這事都告訴了主人。家主就動怒，對僕人說：『快出去，到城裏大街小巷，領那貧窮的、殘廢的、瞎眼的、瘸腿的來。』
“That servant came, and told his lord these things. Then the master of the house, being angry, said to his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in the poor, maimed, blind, and lame.’
14:22
ወእምዝ ይቤሎ ገብሩ ገበርኩ እግዚኦ በከመ አዘዝከኒ ወዓዲ ቦ መካን።
僕人說：『主啊，你所吩咐的已經辦了，還有空座。』
“The servant said, ‘Lord, it is done as you commanded, and there is still room.’
14:23
ወይቤሎ እግዚኡ ለገብሩ ሑር ፍጡነ ውስተ ፍናው ወውስተ ጥቅመ ሀገር ወበግብር አብእ ሰብአ ከመ ይምላእ ቤትየ።
主人對僕人說：『你出去到路上和籬笆那裏，勉強人進來，坐滿我的屋子。
“The lord said to the servant, ‘Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.
14:24
እብለክሙ ከመ አሐዱሂ እምእልክቱ ሰብእ እለ ጸዋዕኩ ኢይጥዕምዋ ለበዓልየ።
我告訴你們，先前所請的人沒有一個得嘗我的筵席。』」
For I tell you that none of those men who were invited will taste of my supper. For many are called, but few are chosen. ’”
14:25
ወእምዝ እንዘ የሐውሩ ምስሌሁ ብዙኃን ሰብእ ተመይጠ ወይቤሎሙ።
有極多的人和耶穌同行。他轉過來對他們說：
Now great multitudes were going with him. He turned and said to them,
14:26
ዘይመጽእ ኀቤየ ወይፈቅድ ይትልወኒ ለእመ ኢጸልአ አባሁ ወእሞ ወብእሲቶ ወቤቶ ወውሉዶ ወአኀዊኡ ወአኃቲሁ ወዓዲ ነፍሶሂ ኢይክል ከዊነ ረድእየ።
「人到我這裏來，若不愛我勝過愛 自己的父母、妻子、兒女、弟兄、姊妹，和自己的性命，就不能作我的門徒。
“If anyone comes to me, and doesn’t disregard his own father, mother, wife, children, brothers, and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he can’t be my disciple.
14:27
ወዘኢይጸውር መስቀሎ ወኢይመጽእ ይትልወኒ ኢይክል ከዊነ ረድእየ።
凡不背着自己十字架跟從我的，也不能作我的門徒。
Whoever doesn’t bear his own cross and come after me, can’t be my disciple.
14:28
ወእመቦ አሐዱ እምኔክሙ ዘይፈቅድ ይሕንጽ ማኅፈደ አኮኑ ይቀድም ወይነብር ወየሐስብ ፃእፃኦ እመቦ ዘየአክሎ ከመ ይሣርር መሠረቶ።
你們哪一個要蓋一座樓，不先坐下算計花費，能蓋成不能呢？
For which of you, desiring to build a tower, doesn’t first sit down and count the cost, to see if he has enough to complete it?
14:29
ከመ ሣሪሮ መሠረተ ለእመ ስእነ ፈጽሞ ኵሎሙ እለ ርእይዎ ይእኅዙ ይሣለቁ ላዕሌሁ።
恐怕安了地基，不能成功，看見的人都笑話他，說：
Or perhaps, when he has laid a foundation and isn’t able to finish, everyone who sees begins to mock him,
14:30
እንዘ ይብሉ ዝንቱ ብእሲ አኀዘ ይሕንጽ ወስእነ ፈጽሞ።
『這個人開了工，卻不能完工。』
saying, ‘This man began to build and wasn’t able to finish.’
14:31
ወእመኒ ፈቀደ ንጉሥ ይሑር ይጽብኦ ለካልእ ንጉሥ አኮኑ ይቀድም ወይነብር ወይመክር ለእመ ይክል በእልፍ ጸቢኦቶ ለዘይመጽእ ኀቤሁ ምስለ ክልኤ እልፍ።
或是一個王出去和別的王打仗，豈不先坐下酌量，能用一萬兵去敵那領二萬兵來攻打他的嗎？
Or what king, as he goes to encounter another king in war, will not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand?
14:32
ወእመ አኮሰ እንዘ ርኁቅ ውእቱ ይፌኑ ሐዋርያተ ትንብልና ኀቤሁ ወይዜንውዎ ሰላመ።
若是不能，就趁敵人還遠的時候，派使者去求和息的條款。
Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sends an envoy and asks for conditions of peace.
14:33
ወከመዝ እንከ ኵሉ ዘእምኔክሙ ዘኢወፅአ እምኵሉ ወዘኢይትናከር ኵሎ ዘዚኣሁ ንዋየ ኢይክል ከዊነ ረድእየ።
這樣，你們無論甚麼人，若不撇下一切所有的，就不能作我的門徒。」
So therefore, whoever of you who doesn’t renounce all that he has, he can’t be my disciple.
14:34
ሠናይ ውእቱ ጼው ወእመሰ ጼው ለስሐ በምንት እንከ ይቄስምዎ።
「鹽本是好的；鹽若失了味，可用甚麼叫它再鹹呢？
“Salt is good, but if the salt becomes flat and tasteless, with what do you season it?
14:35
አኮኑ ይገድፍዎ አፍኣ ወኢይበቍዕ ለምድር ወኢለምዕላደ ድኵዕ ዘቦ እዝን ሰሚዐ ለይስማዕ።
或用在田裏，或堆在糞裏，都不合式，只好丟在外面。有耳可聽的，就應當聽！」
It is fit neither for the soil nor for the manure pile. It is thrown out. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”
