2:1
ወኮነ በውእቱ መዋዕል ወፅአ ትእዛዝ እምኀበ አውግስጦስ ቄሳር ከመ ይጸሐፍ ኵሉ ዓለም።
當那些日子，凱撒奧古斯都有旨意下來，叫天下人民都報名上冊。
Now in those days, a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be enrolled.
2:2
ወውእቱ ጻሕፍ ቀዳሚ አመ ቄሬኔዎስ መስፍን ለሶርያ።
這是居里扭作敘利亞巡撫的時候，頭一次行報名上冊的事。
This was the first enrollment made when Quirinius was governor of Syria.
2:3
ወሖረ ኵሉ ሰብእ ይጸሐፍ በበ ሀገሩ።
眾人各歸各城，報名上冊。
All went to enroll themselves, everyone to his own city.
2:4
ወዐርገ ዮሴፍኒ እምገሊላ እምሀገረ ናዝሬት መንገለ ይሁዳ ኀበ ሀገረ ዳዊት እንተ ስማ ቤተ ልሔም እስመ እምቤተ ዳዊት ወእምአዝማደ ቤቱ ውእቱ።
約瑟也從加利利的拿撒勒城上猶太去，到了大衛的城，名叫伯利恆，因他本是大衛一族一家的人，
Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to David’s city, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David,
2:5
ወሖረ ይጸሐፍ ምስለ ማርያም እንተ ፈኀሩ ሎቱ እንዘ ፅንስት ይእቲ።
要和他所聘之妻馬利亞一同報名上冊。那時馬利亞的身孕已經重了。
to enroll himself with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him as wife, being pregnant.
2:6
ወእምዝ እንዘ ሀለዉ ህየ በጽሐ ዕለተ ወሊዶታ።
他們在那裏的時候，馬利亞的產期到了，
While they were there, the day had come for her to give birth.
2:7
ወወለደት ወልደ ዘበኵራ ወአሰረቶ መንኮብያቲሁ ወጠብለለቶ በአጽርቅት ወአስከበቶ ውስተ ጎል እስመ አልቦሙ መካን ውስተ ማኅደሮሙ።
就生了頭胎的兒子，用布包起來，放在馬槽裏，因為客店裏沒有地方。
She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in bands of cloth and laid him in a feeding trough, because there was no room for them in the inn.
2:8
ወሀለዉ ኖሎት ውስተ ውእቱ ብሔር ይተግሁ ወይሔልዉ ወየዐቅቡ መራዕይሆሙ ሌሊተ በበ እብሬቶሙ።
在伯利恆之野地裏有牧羊的人，夜間按着更次看守羊群。
There were shepherds in the same country staying in the field, and keeping watch by night over their flock.
2:9
ወናሁ ቆመ መልአከ እግዚአብሔር ኀቤሆሙ ወስብሐተ እግዚአብሔር ሠረቀ ላዕሌሆሙ ወፈርሁ ዐቢየ ፍርሀተ።
有主的使者站在他們旁邊，主的榮光四面照着他們；牧羊的人就甚懼怕。
Behold, an angel of the Lord stood by them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.
2:10
ወይቤሎሙ መልአክ ኢትፍርሁ እስመ ናሁ እዜንወክሙ ዐቢየ ዜና ዘይከውን ፍሥሓ ለክሙ ወለኵሉ ዓለም።
那天使對他們說：「不要懼怕！我報給你們大喜的信息，是關乎萬民的；
The angel said to them, “Don’t be afraid, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be to all the people.
2:11
እስመ ናሁ ተወልደ ለክሙ ዮም መድኅን ዘውእቱ ክርስቶስ እግዚእ ቡሩክ በሀገረ ዳዊት።
因今天在大衛的城裏，為你們生了救主，就是主基督。
For there is born to you today, in David’s city, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
2:12
ወከመዝ ትእምርቱ ለክሙ ትረክቡ ሕፃነ እሱረ መንኮብያቲሁ ወጥብሉለ በአጽርቅት ወስኩበ ውስተ ጎል።
你們要看見一個嬰孩，包着布，臥在馬槽裏，那就是記號了。」
This is the sign to you: you will find a baby wrapped in strips of cloth, lying in a feeding trough.”
2:13
ወግብተ መጽኡ ምስለ ውእቱ መልአክ ብዙኃን ሐራ ሰማይ እንዘ ይሴብሕዎ ለእግዚአብሔር፤
忽然，有一大隊天兵同那天使讚美上帝說：
Suddenly, there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly army praising God and saying,
2:14
ወይብሉ ስብሐት ለእግዚአብሔር በሰማያት ወሰላም በምድር ለዕጓለ እመሕያው ሥምረቱ።
在至高之處榮耀歸與上帝！ 在地上平安歸與他所喜悅的人 ！
“Glory to God in the highest, on earth peace, good will toward men.”
2:15
ወእምዝ ዐሪጎሙ መላእክት እምኀቤሆሙ ውስተ ሰማይ ይቤሉ እሙንቱ ሰብእ ኖሎት በበይናቲሆሙ ንሑር ወናንሶሱ እስከ ቤተ ልሔም ወናእምር ዘንተ ነገረ ዘአርአየነ እግዚአብሔር።
眾天使離開他們，升天去了。牧羊的人彼此說：「我們往伯利恆去，看看所成的事，就是主所指示我們的。」
When the angels went away from them into the sky, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem, now, and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.”
2:16
ወሖሩ ፍጡነ ወረከብዎሙ ለማርያም ወለዮሴፍ ወለሕፃንኒ ይሰክብ ውስተ ጎል።
他們急忙去了，就尋見馬利亞和約瑟，又有那嬰孩臥在馬槽裏；
They came with haste and found both Mary and Joseph, and the baby was lying in the feeding trough.
2:17
ወርእዮሙ አእመሩ ከመ በእንተ ውእቱ ሕፃን ዘነገርዎሙ።
既然看見，就把天使論這孩子的話傳開了。
When they saw it, they publicized widely the saying which was spoken to them about this child.
2:18
ወኵሎሙ እለ ሰምዑ አንከሩ ዘነገርዎሙ ኖሎት።
凡聽見的，就詫異牧羊之人對他們所說的話。
All who heard it wondered at the things which were spoken to them by the shepherds.
2:19
ወማርያምሰ ተዐቅብ ዘንተ ኵሎ ነገረ ወትወድዮ ውስተ ልባ።
馬利亞卻把這一切的事存在心裏，反覆思想。
But Mary kept all these sayings, pondering them in her heart.
2:20
ወተመይጡ ኖሎት እንዘ ይሴብሕዎ ወየአኵትዎ ለእግዚአብሔር በእንተ ኵሉ ዘርእዩ ወሰምዑ ዘከመ ይቤልዎሙ።
牧羊的人回去了，因所聽見所看見的一切事，正如天使向他們所說的，就歸榮耀與上帝，讚美他。
The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, just as it was told them.
2:21
ወአመ ተፈጸመ ሰሙን ዕለት ወሰድዎ ለሕፃን ከመ ይግዝርዎ ወሰመይዎ ስሞ ኢየሱስ በከመ ሰመዮ መልአክ እምቅድመ ትፅንሶ በከርሣ።
滿了八天，就給孩子行割禮，與他起名叫耶穌；這就是沒有成胎以前，天使所起的名。
When eight days were fulfilled for the circumcision of the child, his name was called Jesus, which was given by the angel before he was conceived in the womb.
2:22
ወአመ ተፈጸመ መዋዕለ ንጽሖሙ በከመ ሕገ ሙሴ ወሰድዎ ኢየሩሳሌም ያቅምዎ ቅድመ እግዚአብሔር።
按摩西律法滿了潔淨的日子，他們帶着孩子上耶路撒冷去，要把他獻與主，（
When the days of their purification according to the law of Moses were fulfilled, they brought him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord
2:23
በከመ ጽሑፍ ውስተ ሕገ እግዚአብሔር «ኵሉ ተባዕት ዘይፈትሕ ማሕፀነ እሙ ቅዱሰ ይሰመይ ለእግዚአብሔር።»
正如主的律法上所記：「凡頭生的男子必稱聖歸主。」）
(as it is written in the law of the Lord, “Every male who opens the womb shall be called holy to the Lord”),
2:24
ወከመ ያብኡ መሥዋዕተ በእንቲኣሁ በከመ ተብህለ ውስተ ሕገ እግዚአብሔር «ዘውገ ማዕነቅ፥ ወእመአኮ ክልኤቲ ዕጕለ ርግብ።»
又要照主的律法上所說，或用一對斑鳩，或用兩隻雛鴿獻祭。
and to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, “A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.”
2:25
ወሀሎ አሐዱ ብእሲ በኢየሩሳሌም ዘስሙ ስምዖን ወውእቱ ጻድቅ ወየዋህ ወይሴፎ ይርአይ መድኀኒቶሙ ወፍሥሓሆሙ ለእስራኤል ወመንፈስ ቅዱስ ላዕሌሁ።
在耶路撒冷有一個人，名叫西面；這人又公義又虔誠，素常盼望以色列的安慰者來到，又有聖靈在他身上。
Behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon. This man was righteous and devout, looking for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him.
2:26
ወአርአዮ መንፈስ ቅዱስ ከመ ኢይመውት ዘእንበለ ይርአይ መሲሖ ለእግዚአብሔር።
他得了聖靈的啟示，知道自己未死以前，必看見主所立的基督。
It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he should not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.
2:27
ወወሰዶ መንፈስ ምኵራበ ወሶበ አብእዎ አዝማዲሁ ለሕፃን እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ከመ ይግበሩ ሎቱ ዘበሕጉ።
他受了聖靈的感動，進入聖殿，正遇見耶穌的父母抱着孩子進來，要照律法的規矩辦理。
He came in the Spirit into the temple. When the parents brought in the child, Jesus, that they might do concerning him according to the custom of the law,
2:28
ተወክፎ ውእቱኒ፤ ወአንበሮ ውስተ ሕፅኑ ወባረኮ ለእግዚአብሔር ወይቤ፤
西面就用手接過他來，稱頌上帝說：
then he received him into his arms and blessed God, and said,
2:29
ይእዜ ትስዕሮ ለገብርከ በሰላም እግዚኦ በከመ አዘዝከ።
主啊！如今可以照你的話， 釋放僕人安然去世；
“Now you are releasing your servant, Master, according to your word, in peace;
2:30
እስመ ርእያ አዕይንትየ አድኅኖተከ።
因為我的眼睛已經看見你的救恩－
for my eyes have seen your salvation,
2:31
ዘአስተዳለውከ ቅድመ ኵሉ ሕዝብከ።
就是你在萬民面前所預備的：
which you have prepared before the face of all peoples;
2:32
ከመ ትክሥት ብርሃነ ለአሕዛብ ወክብረ ለሕዝብከ እስራኤል።
是照亮外邦人的光， 又是你民以色列的榮耀。
a light for revelation to the nations, and the glory of your people Israel.”
2:33
ወዮሴፍሰ ወእሙ ያነክሩ በእንተ ዘይነብብ ላዕሌሁ።
孩子的父母因這論耶穌的話就希奇。
Joseph and his mother were marveling at the things which were spoken concerning him.
2:34
ወባረኮሙ ስምዖን ወይቤላ ለእሙ ማርያም ናሁ ዝንቱ ሕፃን ሥዩም ለድቀቶሙ ወለተንሥኦቶሙ ለብዙኃን እምውስተ እስራኤል ወለትእምርት በዘይትወቀሱ።
西面給他們祝福，又對孩子的母親馬利亞說：「這孩子被立，是要叫以色列中許多人跌倒，許多人興起；又要作毀謗的話柄，叫許多人心裏的意念顯露出來；你自己的心也要被刀刺透。」
Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary, his mother, “Behold, this child is appointed for the falling and the rising of many in Israel, and for a sign which is spoken against.
2:35
ወለኪሰ ይበውእ ውስተ ልብኪ ኲናት ከመ ይክሥት ኅሊና ልቦሙ ለብዙኃን።
西面給他們祝福，又對孩子的母親馬利亞說：「這孩子被立，是要叫以色列中許多人跌倒，許多人興起；又要作毀謗的話柄，叫許多人心裏的意念顯露出來；你自己的心也要被刀刺透。」
Yes, a sword will pierce through your own soul, that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.”
2:36
ወሀለወት ሐና ነቢይት ወለተ ፋኑኤል እንተ እምነገደ አሴር ወኀለፈ መዋዕሊሃ ወምስለ ምታሰ ነበረት ሰብዐተ ክረምተ እምድኅረ ነበረት በድንግልናሃ።
又有女先知，名叫亞拿，是亞設支派法內力的女兒，年紀已經老邁，從作童女出嫁的時候，同丈夫住了七年就寡居了，
There was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher (she was of a great age, having lived with a husband seven years from her virginity,
2:37
ወኮነት መዓስብተ ሰማንያ ወአርባዕተ ክረምተ ወኢትወፅእ እምኵራብ መዐልተ ወሌሊተ እንዘ ትትቀነይ በጾም ወበጸሎት።
現在已經八十四歲 ，並不離開聖殿，禁食祈求，晝夜事奉上帝。
and she had been a widow for about eighty-four years), who didn’t depart from the temple, worshiping with fastings and petitions night and day.
2:38
ወተንሥአት ሶቤሃ ወገነየት ወአእኰተቶ ለእግዚአብሔር ወነገረት በእንቲኣሁ ለኵሎሙ እለ ይሴፈዉ መድኀኒታ ለኢየሩሳሌም።
正當那時，她進前來稱謝上帝，將孩子的事對一切盼望耶路撒冷得救贖的人講說。
Coming up at that very hour, she gave thanks to the Lord, and spoke of him to all those who were looking for redemption in Jerusalem.
2:39
ወፈጺሞሙ ኵሎ ዘበሕገ እግዚአብሔር አተዉ ገሊላ ሀገሮሙ ናዝሬተ።
約瑟和馬利亞照主的律法辦完了一切的事，就回加利利，到自己的城拿撒勒去了。
When they had accomplished all things that were according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city, Nazareth.
2:40
ወልህቀ ሕፃን ወጸንዐ በመንፈስ ቅዱስ ወምሉእ ጥበበ ወፍጹም በጸጋ እግዚአብሔር ዘላዕሌሁ።
孩子漸漸長大，強健起來，充滿智慧，又有上帝的恩在他身上。
The child was growing, and was becoming strong in spirit, being filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon him.
2:41
ወየሐውሩ አዝማዲሁ ኢየሩሳሌም ለለዓመት ለበዓለ ፋሲካ።
每年到逾越節，他父母就上耶路撒冷去。
His parents went every year to Jerusalem at the feast of the Passover.
2:42
ወአመ ኮኖ ፍጹመ ሎቱ ዐሠርቱ ወክልኤቱ ክረምት ዐርጉ ለበዓል ኢየሩሳሌም በከመ ያለምዱ።
當他十二歲的時候，他們按着節期的規矩上去。
When he was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem according to the custom of the feast;
2:43
ወሰሊጦሙ ግብሮሙ አተዉ ገሊላ ሀገሮሙ ወሕፃንሰ እግዚእ ኢየሱስ ነበረ ኢየሩሳሌም ወኢያእመሩ ዮሴፍ ወእሙ።
守滿了節期，他們回去，孩童耶穌仍舊在耶路撒冷。他的父母並不知道，
and when they had fulfilled the days, as they were returning, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem. Joseph and his mother didn’t know it,
2:44
ወይመስሎሙ ከመ ዘበፍኖት ሀሎ ምስለ ሰብእ ወበጺሖሙ ኀሠሥዎ በዕለታ ኀበ አዝማዲሁ ወኀበ እለ የአምርዎ ወኢረከብዎ።
以為他在同行的人中間，走了一天的路程，就在親族和熟識的人中找他，
but supposing him to be in the company, they went a day’s journey; and they looked for him among their relatives and acquaintances.
2:45
ወሶበ ኢረከብዎ ተሠውጡ ኢየሩሳሌም እንዘ የኀሥሥዎ።
既找不着，就回耶路撒冷去找他。
When they didn’t find him, they returned to Jerusalem, looking for him.
2:46
ወእምዝ በሣልስታ ረከብዎ በምኵራብ እንዘ ይነብር በማእከለ ሊቃውንት ወያጸምዖሙ ወይሴአሎሙ።
過了三天，就遇見他在殿裏，坐在教師中間，一面聽，一面問。
After three days they found him in the temple, sitting in the middle of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions.
2:47
ወያነክርዎ ኵሎሙ እለ ሰምዕዎ ጥበቦ ወአውሥኦቶ።
凡聽見他的，都希奇他的聰明和他的應對。
All who heard him were amazed at his understanding and his answers.
2:48
ወሶበ ርእይዎ ደንገፁ ወትቤሎ እሙ ወልድየ ለምንት ከመዝ ረሰይከነ እስመ ናሁ አቡከኒ ወአነኒ ሰራሕነ እንዘ ነኀሠሥከ።
他父母看見就很希奇。他母親對他說：「我兒！為甚麼向我們這樣行呢？看哪，你父親和我傷心來找你！」
When they saw him, they were astonished; and his mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us this way? Behold, your father and I were anxiously looking for you.”
2:49
ወይቤሎሙ ለምንት ተኀሥሡኒ ኢያእመርክሙኑ ከመ ይደልወኒ አሀሉ ውስተ ዘአቡየ ቤት።
耶穌說：「為甚麼找我呢？豈不知我應當以我父的事為念嗎 ？」
He said to them, “Why were you looking for me? Didn’t you know that I must be in my Father’s house?”
2:50
ወእሙንቱሰ ኢለበዉ ቃሎ ዘይቤሎሙ።
他所說的這話，他們不明白。
They didn’t understand the saying which he spoke to them.
2:51
ወሖረ ወወረደ ምስሌሆሙ ናዝሬተ ወኮነ ይትኤዘዝ ሎሙ ወእሙሰ ተዐቅብ ዘንተ ኵሎ ነገረ ወትወድዮ ውስተ ልባ።
他就同他們下去，回到拿撒勒，並且順從他們。他母親把這一切的事都存在心裏。
And he went down with them and came to Nazareth. He was subject to them, and his mother kept all these sayings in her heart.
2:52
ወእግዚእ ኢየሱስ ልህቀ ወዐብየ በጥበብ ወበምክር ወበጸጋ በኀበ እግዚአብሔር ወበኀበ ሰብእ።
耶穌的智慧和身量 ，並上帝和人喜愛他的心，都一齊增長。
And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.
