31:1
Verba Lamuelis regis. Visio qua erudivit eum mater sua.
The words of King Lemuel—the revelation which his mother taught him:
利慕伊勒王的言語,是他母親教訓他的真言。
31:2
Quid, dilecte mi ? quid, dilecte uteri mei ? quid, dilecte votorum meorum ?
“Oh, my son! Oh, son of my womb! Oh, son of my vows!
我的兒啊,我腹中生的兒啊, 我許願得的兒啊!我當怎樣教訓你呢?
31:3
Ne dederis mulieribus substantiam tuam, et divitias tuas ad delendos reges.
Don’t give your strength to women, nor your ways to that which destroys kings.
不要將你的精力給婦女; 也不要有敗壞君王的行為。
31:4
Noli regibus, o Lamuel, noli regibus dare vinum, quia nullum secretum est ubi regnat ebrietas ;
It is not for kings, Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine, nor for princes to say, ‘Where is strong drink?’
利慕伊勒啊,君王喝酒,君王喝酒不相宜; 王子說濃酒在那裏也不相宜;
31:5
et ne forte bibant, et obliviscantur judiciorum, et mutent causam filiorum pauperis.
lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the justice due to anyone who is afflicted.
恐怕喝了就忘記律例, 顛倒一切困苦人的是非。
31:6
Date siceram moerentibus, et vinum his qui amaro sunt animo.
Give strong drink to him who is ready to perish, and wine to the bitter in soul.
可以把濃酒給將亡的人喝, 把清酒給苦心的人喝,
31:7
Bibant, et obliviscantur egestatis suae, et doloris sui non recordentur amplius.
Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.
讓他喝了,就忘記他的貧窮, 不再記念他的苦楚。
31:8
Aperi os tuum muto, et causis omnium filiorum qui pertranseunt.
Open your mouth for the mute, in the cause of all who are left desolate.
你當為啞巴 開口, 為一切孤獨的伸冤。
31:9
Aperi os tuum, decerne quod justum est, et judica inopem et pauperem.
Open your mouth, judge righteously, and serve justice to the poor and needy.”
你當開口按公義判斷, 為困苦和窮乏的辨屈。
31:10
Mulierem fortem quis inveniet ? procul et de ultimis finibus pretium ejus.
Who can find a worthy woman? For her value is far above rubies.
才德的婦人誰能得着呢? 她的價值遠勝過珍珠。
31:11
Confidit in ea cor viri sui, et spoliis non indigebit.
The heart of her husband trusts in her. He shall have no lack of gain.
她丈夫心裏倚靠她, 必不缺少利益;
31:12
Reddet ei bonum, et non malum, omnibus diebus vitae suae.
She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life.
她一生使丈夫有益無損。
31:13
Quaesivit lanam et linum, et operata est consilia manuum suarum.
She seeks wool and flax, and works eagerly with her hands.
她尋找羊羢和麻, 甘心用手做工。
31:14
Facta est quasi navis institoris, de longe portans panem suum.
She is like the merchant ships. She brings her bread from afar.
她好像商船從遠方運糧來,
31:15
Et de nocte surrexit, deditque praedam domesticis suis, et cibaria ancillis suis.
She rises also while it is yet night, gives food to her household, and portions for her servant girls.
未到黎明她就起來, 把食物分給家中的人, 將當做的工分派婢女。
31:16
Consideravit agrum, et emit eum ; de fructu manuum suarum plantavit vineam.
She considers a field, and buys it. With the fruit of her hands, she plants a vineyard.
她想得田地就買來; 用手所得之利栽種葡萄園。
31:17
Accinxit fortitudine lumbos suos, et roboravit brachium suum.
She arms her waist with strength, and makes her arms strong.
她以能力束腰, 使膀臂有力。
31:18
Gustavit, et vidit quia bona est negotiatio ejus ; non extinguetur in nocte lucerna ejus.
She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp doesn’t go out by night.
她覺得所經營的有利; 她的燈終夜不滅。
31:19
Manum suam misit ad fortia, et digiti ejus apprehenderunt fusum.
She lays her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle.
她手拿撚線竿, 手把紡線車。
31:20
Manum suam aperuit inopi, et palmas suas extendit ad pauperem.
She opens her arms to the poor; yes, she extends her hands to the needy.
她張手賙濟困苦人, 伸手幫補窮乏人。
31:21
Non timebit domui suae a frigoribus nivis ; omnes enim domestici ejus vestiti sunt duplicibus.
She is not afraid of the snow for her household, for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
她不因下雪為家裏的人擔心, 因為全家都穿着朱紅衣服。
31:22
Stragulatam vestem fecit sibi ; byssus et purpura indumentum ejus.
She makes for herself carpets of tapestry. Her clothing is fine linen and purple.
她為自己製作繡花毯子; 她的衣服是細麻和紫色布做的。
31:23
Nobilis in portis vir ejus, quando sederit cum senatoribus terrae.
Her husband is respected in the gates, when he sits among the elders of the land.
她丈夫在城門口與本地的長老同坐, 為眾人所認識。
31:24
Sindonem fecit, et vendidit, et cingulum tradidit Chananaeo.
She makes linen garments and sells them, and delivers sashes to the merchant.
她做細麻布衣裳出賣, 又將腰帶賣與商家。
31:25
Fortitudo et decor indumentum ejus, et ridebit in die novissimo.
Strength and dignity are her clothing. She laughs at the time to come.
能力和威儀是她的衣服; 她想到日後的景況就喜笑。
31:26
Os suum aperuit sapientiae, et lex clementiae in lingua ejus.
She opens her mouth with wisdom. Kind instruction is on her tongue.
她開口就發智慧; 她舌上有仁慈的法則。
31:27
Consideravit semitas domus suae, et panem otiosa non comedit.
She looks well to the ways of her household, and doesn’t eat the bread of idleness.
她觀察家務, 並不吃閒飯。
31:28
Surrexerunt filii ejus, et beatissimam praedicaverunt ; vir ejus, et laudavit eam.
Her children rise up and call her blessed. Her husband also praises her:
她的兒女起來稱她有福; 她的丈夫也稱讚她,
31:29
Multae filiae congregaverunt divitias ; tu supergressa es universas.
“Many women do noble things, but you excel them all.”
說:才德的女子很多, 惟獨你超過一切。
31:30
Fallax gratia, et vana est pulchritudo : mulier timens Dominum, ipsa laudabitur.
Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman who fears Yahweh, she shall be praised.
艷麗是虛假的,美容是虛浮的; 惟敬畏耶和華的婦女必得稱讚。
31:31
Date ei de fructu manuum suarum, et laudent eam in portis opera ejus.
Give her of the fruit of her hands! Let her works praise her in the gates!
願她享受操作所得的; 願她的工作在城門口榮耀她。
