Luxuriosa res vinum , et tumultuosa ebrietas : quicumque his delectatur non erit sapiens .
Wine is a mocker and beer is a brawler. Whoever is led astray by them is not wise.
酒能使人褻慢，濃酒使人喧嚷； 凡因酒錯誤的，就無智慧。

Sicut rugitus leonis , ita et terror regis : qui provocat eum peccat in animam suam .
The terror of a king is like the roaring of a lion. He who provokes him to anger forfeits his own life.
王的威嚇如同獅子吼叫； 惹動他怒的，是自害己命。

Honor est homini qui separat se a contentionibus ; omnes autem stulti miscentur contumeliis .
It is an honor for a man to keep aloof from strife, but every fool will be quarreling.
遠離紛爭是人的尊榮； 愚妄人都愛爭鬧。

Propter frigus piger arare noluit ; mendicabit ergo aestate , et non dabitur illi .
The sluggard will not plow by reason of the winter; therefore he shall beg in harvest, and have nothing.
懶惰人因冬寒不肯耕種， 到收割的時候，他必討飯而無所得。

Sicut aqua profunda , sic consilium in corde viri ; sed homo sapiens exhauriet illud .
Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water, but a man of understanding will draw it out.
人心懷藏謀略，好像深水， 惟明哲人才能汲引出來。

Multi homines misericordes vocantur ; virum autem fidelem quis inveniet ?
Many men claim to be men of unfailing love, but who can find a faithful man?
人多述說自己的仁慈， 但忠信人誰能遇着呢？

Justus qui ambulat in simplicitate sua beatos post se filios derelinquet .
A righteous man walks in integrity. Blessed are his children after him.
行為純正的義人， 他的子孫是有福的！

Rex qui sedet in solio judicii dissipat omne malum intuitu suo .
A king who sits on the throne of judgment scatters away all evil with his eyes.
王坐在審判的位上， 以眼目驅散諸惡。

Quis potest dicere : Mundum est cor meum ; purus sum a peccato ?
Who can say, “I have made my heart pure. I am clean and without sin”?
誰能說，我潔淨了我的心， 我脫淨了我的罪？

Pondus et pondus , mensura et mensura : utrumque abominabile est apud Deum .
Differing weights and differing measures, both of them alike are an abomination to Yahweh.
兩樣的法碼，兩樣的升斗， 都為耶和華所憎惡。

Ex studiis suis intelligitur puer , si munda et recta sint opera ejus .
Even a child makes himself known by his doings, whether his work is pure, and whether it is right.
孩童的動作是清潔，是正直， 都顯明他的本性。

Aurem audientem , et oculum videntem : Dominus fecit utrumque .
The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, Yahweh has made even both of them.
能聽的耳，能看的眼， 都是耶和華所造的。

Noli diligere somnum , ne te egestas opprimat : aperi oculos tuos , et saturare panibus .
Don’t love sleep, lest you come to poverty. Open your eyes, and you shall be satisfied with bread.
不要貪睡，免致貧窮； 眼要睜開，你就吃飽。

Malum est , malum est , dicit omnis emptor ; et cum recesserit , tunc gloriabitur .
“It’s no good, it’s no good,” says the buyer; but when he is gone his way, then he boasts.
買物的說：不好，不好； 及至買去，他便自誇。

Est aurum et multitudo gemmarum , et vas pretiosum labia scientiae .
There is gold and abundance of rubies, but the lips of knowledge are a rare jewel.
有金子和許多珍珠 ， 惟有知識的嘴乃為貴重的珍寶。

Tolle vestimentum ejus qui fidejussor extitit alieni , et pro extraneis aufer pignus ab eo .
Take the garment of one who puts up collateral for a stranger; and hold him in pledge for a wayward woman.
誰為生人作保，就拿誰的衣服； 誰為外人作保，誰就要承當。

Suavis est homini panis mendacii , et postea implebitur os ejus calculo .
Fraudulent food is sweet to a man, but afterwards his mouth is filled with gravel.
以虛謊而得的食物，人覺甘甜； 但後來，他的口必充滿塵沙。

Cogitationes consiliis roborantur , et gubernaculis tractanda sunt bella .
Plans are established by advice; by wise guidance you wage war!
計謀都憑籌算立定； 打仗要憑智謀。

Ei qui revelat mysteria , et ambulat fraudulenter , et dilatat labia sua , ne commiscearis .
He who goes about as a tale-bearer reveals secrets; therefore don’t keep company with him who opens wide his lips.
往來傳舌的，洩漏密事； 大張嘴的，不可與他結交。

Qui maledicit patri suo et matri , extinguetur lucerna ejus in mediis tenebris :
Whoever curses his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in blackness of darkness.
咒罵父母的，他的燈必滅， 變為漆黑的黑暗。

haereditas ad quam festinatur in principio , in novissimo benedictione carebit .
An inheritance quickly gained at the beginning won’t be blessed in the end.
起初速得的產業， 終久卻不為福。

Ne dicas : Reddam malum : exspecta Dominum , et liberabit te .
Don’t say, “I will pay back evil.” Wait for Yahweh, and he will save you.
你不要說，我要以惡報惡； 要等候耶和華，他必拯救你。

Abominatio est apud Dominum pondus et pondus ; statera dolosa non est bona .
Yahweh detests differing weights, and dishonest scales are not pleasing.
兩樣的法碼為耶和華所憎惡； 詭詐的天平也為不善。

A Domino diriguntur gressus viri : quis autem hominum intelligere potest viam suam ?
A man’s steps are from Yahweh; how then can man understand his way?
人的腳步為耶和華所定； 人豈能明白自己的路呢？

Ruina est homini devorare sanctos , et post vota retractare .
It is a snare to a man to make a rash dedication, then later to consider his vows.
人冒失說，這是聖物， 許願之後才查問，就是自陷網羅。

Dissipat impios rex sapiens , et incurvat super eos fornicem .
A wise king winnows out the wicked, and drives the threshing wheel over them.
智慧的王簸散惡人， 用碌碡滾軋他們。

Lucerna Domini spiraculum hominis , quae investigat omnia secreta ventris .
The spirit of man is Yahweh’s lamp, searching all his innermost parts.
人的靈是耶和華的燈， 鑒察人的心腹。

Misericordia et veritas custodiunt regem , et roboratur clementia thronus ejus .
Love and faithfulness keep the king safe. His throne is sustained by love.
王因仁慈和誠實得以保全他的國位， 也因仁慈立穩。

Exsultatio juvenum fortitudo eorum , et dignitas senum canities .
The glory of young men is their strength. The splendor of old men is their gray hair.
強壯乃少年人的榮耀； 白髮為老年人的尊榮。

Livor vulneris absterget mala , et plagae in secretioribus ventris .
Wounding blows cleanse away evil, and beatings purge the innermost parts.
鞭傷除淨人的罪惡； 責打能入人的心腹。
