Numquid non sapientia clamitat , et prudentia dat vocem suam ?
Doesn’t wisdom cry out? Doesn’t understanding raise her voice?
智慧豈不呼叫? 聰明豈不發聲?

In summis excelsisque verticibus supra viam , in mediis semitis stans ,
On the top of high places by the way, where the paths meet, she stands.
她在道旁高處的頂上, 在十字路口站立,

juxta portas civitatis , in ipsis foribus loquitur , dicens :
Beside the gates, at the entry of the city, at the entry doors, she cries aloud:
在城門旁,在城門口, 在城門洞,大聲說:

O viri , ad vos clamito , et vox mea ad filios hominum .
“I call to you men! I send my voice to the sons of mankind.
眾人哪,我呼叫你們, 我向世人發聲。

Intelligite , parvuli , astutiam , et insipientes , animadvertite .
You simple, understand prudence! You fools, be of an understanding heart!
說:愚蒙人哪,你們要會悟靈明; 愚昧人哪,你們當心裏明白。

Audite , quoniam de rebus magnis locutura sum , et aperientur labia mea ut recta praedicent .
Hear, for I will speak excellent things. The opening of my lips is for right things.
你們當聽,因我要說極美的話; 我張嘴要論正直的事。

Veritatem meditabitur guttur meum , et labia mea detestabuntur impium .
For my mouth speaks truth. Wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
我的口要發出真理; 我的嘴憎惡邪惡。

Justi sunt omnes sermones mei : non est in eis pravum quid , neque perversum ;
All the words of my mouth are in righteousness. There is nothing crooked or perverse in them.
我口中的言語都是公義, 並無彎曲乖僻。

recti sunt intelligentibus , et aequi invenientibus scientiam .
They are all plain to him who understands, right to those who find knowledge.
有聰明的,以為明顯, 得知識的,以為正直。

Accipite disciplinam meam , et non pecuniam ; doctrinam magis quam aurum eligite :
Receive my instruction rather than silver, knowledge rather than choice gold.
你們當受我的教訓,不受白銀; 寧得知識,勝過黃金。

melior est enim sapientia cunctis pretiosissimis , et omne desiderabile ei non potest comparari .
For wisdom is better than rubies. All the things that may be desired can’t be compared to it.
因為智慧比珍珠 更美; 一切可喜愛的都不足與比較。

Ego sapientia , habito in consilio , et eruditis intersum cogitationibus .
“I, wisdom, have made prudence my dwelling. Find out knowledge and discretion.
我-智慧以靈明為居所, 又尋得知識和謀略。

Timor Domini odit malum : arrogantiam , et superbiam , et viam pravam , et os bilingue , detestor .
The fear of Yahweh is to hate evil. I hate pride, arrogance, the evil way, and the perverse mouth.
敬畏耶和華在乎恨惡邪惡; 那驕傲、狂妄,並惡道, 以及乖謬的口,都為我所恨惡。

Meum est consilium et aequitas ; mea est prudentia , mea est fortitudo .
Counsel and sound knowledge are mine. I have understanding and power.
我有謀略和真知識; 我乃聰明,我有能力。

Per me reges regnant , et legum conditores justa decernunt ;
By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.
帝王藉我坐國位; 君王藉我定公平。

per me principes imperant , et potentes decernunt justitiam .
By me princes rule, nobles, and all the righteous rulers of the earth.
王子和首領, 世上一切的審判官,都是藉我掌權。

Ego diligentes me diligo , et qui mane vigilant ad me , invenient me .
I love those who love me. Those who seek me diligently will find me.
愛我的,我也愛他; 懇切尋求我的,必尋得見。

Mecum sunt divitiae et gloria , opes superbae et justitia .
With me are riches, honor, enduring wealth, and prosperity.
豐富尊榮在我; 恆久的財並公義也在我。

Melior est enim fructus meus auro et lapide pretioso , et genimina mea argento electo .
My fruit is better than gold, yes, than fine gold, my yield than choice silver.
我的果實勝過黃金,強如精金; 我的出產超乎高銀。

In viis justitiae ambulo , in medio semitarum judicii :
I walk in the way of righteousness, in the middle of the paths of justice,
我在公義的道上走, 在公平的路中行,

ut ditem diligentes me , et thesauros eorum repleam .
that I may give wealth to those who love me. I fill their treasuries.
使愛我的,承受貨財, 並充滿他們的府庫。

Dominus possedit me in initio viarum suarum antequam quidquam faceret a principio .
“Yahweh possessed me in the beginning of his work, before his deeds of old.
在耶和華造化的起頭, 在太初創造萬物之先,就有了我。

Ab aeterno ordinata sum , et ex antiquis antequam terra fieret .
I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, before the earth existed.
從亙古,從太初, 未有世界以前,我已被立。

Nondum erant abyssi , et ego jam concepta eram : necdum fontes aquarum eruperant ,
When there were no depths, I was born, when there were no springs abounding with water.
沒有深淵, 沒有大水的泉源,我已生出。

necdum montes gravi mole constiterant : ante colles ego parturiebar .
Before the mountains were settled in place, before the hills, I was born;
大山未曾奠定, 小山未有之先,我已生出。

Adhuc terram non fecerat , et flumina , et cardines orbis terrae .
while as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the beginning of the dust of the world.
耶和華還沒有創造大地和田野, 並世上的土質,我已生出。

Quando praeparabat caelos , aderam ; quando certa lege et gyro vallabat abyssos ;
When he established the heavens, I was there. When he set a circle on the surface of the deep,
他立高天,我在那裏; 他在淵面的周圍,劃出圓圈。
8:28▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
quando aethera firmabat sursum , et librabat fontes aquarum ;
when he established the clouds above, when the springs of the deep became strong,
上使穹蒼堅硬, 下使淵源穩固,
8:29▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
quando circumdabat mari terminum suum , et legem ponebat aquis , ne transirent fines suos ; quando appendebat fundamenta terrae :
when he gave to the sea its boundary, that the waters should not violate his commandment, when he marked out the foundations of the earth,
為滄海定出界限,使水不越過他的命令, 立定大地的根基。

cum eo eram , cuncta componens . Et delectabar per singulos dies , ludens coram eo omni tempore ,
then I was the craftsman by his side. I was a delight day by day, always rejoicing before him,
那時,我在他那裏為工師, 日日為他所喜愛, 常常在他面前踴躍,

ludens in orbe terrarum ; et deliciae meae esse cum filiis hominum .
rejoicing in his whole world. My delight was with the sons of men.
踴躍在他為人預備可住之地, 也喜悅住在世人之間。

Nunc ergo , filii , audite me : beati qui custodiunt vias meas .
“Now therefore, my sons, listen to me, for blessed are those who keep my ways.
眾子啊,現在要聽從我, 因為謹守我道的,便為有福。
8:33▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
Audite disciplinam , et estote sapientes , et nolite abjicere eam .
Hear instruction, and be wise. Don’t refuse it.
要聽教訓就得智慧, 不可棄絕。
8:34▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
Beatus homo qui audit me , et qui vigilat ad fores meas quotidie , et observat ad postes ostii mei .
Blessed is the man who hears me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at my door posts.
聽從我、日日在我門口仰望、 在我門框旁邊等候的,那人便為有福。

Qui me invenerit , inveniet vitam , et hauriet salutem a Domino .
For whoever finds me finds life, and will obtain favor from Yahweh.
因為尋得我的,就尋得生命, 也必蒙耶和華的恩惠。
8:36▷ ⧉ ⤴︎
Qui autem in me peccaverit , laedet animam suam ; omnes qui me oderunt diligunt mortem .
But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul. All those who hate me love death.”
得罪我的,卻害了自己的性命; 恨惡我的,都喜愛死亡。
