Melior est pauper qui ambulat in simplicitate sua quam dives torquens labia sua , et insipiens .
Better is the poor who walks in his integrity than he who is perverse in his lips and is a fool.
行為純正的貧窮人 勝過乖謬愚妄的富足人。

Ubi non est scientia animae , non est bonum , et qui festinus est pedibus offendet .
It isn’t good to have zeal without knowledge, nor to be hasty with one’s feet and miss the way.
心無知識的，乃為不善； 腳步急快的，難免犯罪。

Stultitia hominis supplantat gressus ejus , et contra Deum fervet animo suo .
The foolishness of man subverts his way; his heart rages against Yahweh.
人的愚昧傾敗他的道； 他的心也抱怨耶和華。

Divitiae addunt amicos plurimos ; a paupere autem et hi quos habuit separantur .
Wealth adds many friends, but the poor is separated from his friend.
財物使朋友增多； 但窮人朋友遠離。

Testis falsus non erit impunitus , et qui mendacia loquitur non effugiet .
A false witness shall not be unpunished. He who pours out lies shall not go free.
作假見證的，必不免受罰； 吐出謊言的，終不能逃脫。

Multi colunt personam potentis , et amici sunt dona tribuentis .
Many will entreat the favor of a ruler, and everyone is a friend to a man who gives gifts.
好施散的，有多人求他的恩情； 愛送禮的，人都為他的朋友。

Fratres hominis pauperis oderunt eum ; insuper et amici procul recesserunt ab eo . Qui tantum verba sectatur nihil habebit ;
All the relatives of the poor shun him; how much more do his friends avoid him! He pursues them with pleas, but they are gone.
貧窮人，弟兄都恨他； 何況他的朋友，更遠離他！ 他用言語追隨，他們卻走了。

qui autem possessor est mentis diligit animam suam , et custos prudentiae inveniet bona .
He who gets wisdom loves his own soul. He who keeps understanding shall find good.
得着智慧的，愛惜生命； 保守聰明的，必得好處。

Falsus testis non erit impunitus , et qui loquitur mendacia peribit .
A false witness shall not be unpunished. He who utters lies shall perish.
作假見證的，不免受罰； 吐出謊言的，也必滅亡。

Non decent stultum deliciae , nec servum dominari principibus .
Delicate living is not appropriate for a fool, much less for a servant to have rule over princes.
愚昧人宴樂度日是不合宜的； 何況僕人管轄王子呢？

Doctrina viri per patientiam noscitur , et gloria ejus est iniqua praetergredi .
The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger. It is his glory to overlook an offense.
人有見識就不輕易發怒； 寬恕人的過失便是自己的榮耀。

Sicut fremitus leonis , ita et regis ira , et sicut ros super herbam , ita et hilaritas ejus .
The king’s wrath is like the roaring of a lion, but his favor is like dew on the grass.
王的忿怒好像獅子吼叫； 他的恩典卻如草上的甘露。

Dolor patris filius stultus , et tecta jugiter perstillantia litigiosa mulier .
A foolish son is the calamity of his father. A wife’s quarrels are a continual dripping.
愚昧的兒子是父親的禍患； 妻子的爭吵如雨連連滴漏。

Domus et divitiae dantur a parentibus ; a Domino autem proprie uxor prudens .
House and riches are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from Yahweh.
房屋錢財是祖宗所遺留的； 惟有賢慧的妻是耶和華所賜的。

Pigredo immittit soporem , et anima dissoluta esuriet .
Slothfulness casts into a deep sleep. The idle soul shall suffer hunger.
懶惰使人沉睡； 懈怠的人必受飢餓。

Qui custodit mandatum custodit animam suam ; qui autem negligit viam suam mortificabitur .
He who keeps the commandment keeps his soul, but he who is contemptuous in his ways shall die.
謹守誡命的，保全生命； 輕忽己路的，必致死亡。

Foeneratur Domino qui miseretur pauperis , et vicissitudinem suam reddet ei .
He who has pity on the poor lends to Yahweh; he will reward him.
憐憫貧窮的，就是借給耶和華； 他的善行，耶和華必償還。

Erudi filium tuum ; ne desperes : ad interfectionem autem ejus ne ponas animam tuam .
Discipline your son, for there is hope; don’t be a willing party to his death.
趁有指望，管教你的兒子； 你的心不可任他死亡。

Qui impatiens est sustinebit damnum , et cum rapuerit , aliud apponet .
A hot-tempered man must pay the penalty, for if you rescue him, you must do it again.
暴怒的人必受刑罰； 你若救他，必須再救。

Audi consilium , et suscipe disciplinam , ut sis sapiens in novissimis tuis .
Listen to counsel and receive instruction, that you may be wise in your latter end.
你要聽勸教，受訓誨， 使你終久有智慧。

Multae cogitationes in corde viri ; voluntas autem Domini permanebit .
There are many plans in a man’s heart, but Yahweh’s counsel will prevail.
人心多有計謀； 惟有耶和華的籌算才能立定。

Homo indigens misericors est , et melior est pauper quam vir mendax .
That which makes a man to be desired is his kindness. A poor man is better than a liar.
施行仁慈的，令人愛慕； 窮人強如說謊言的。

Timor Domini ad vitam , et in plenitudine commorabitur absque visitatione pessima .
The fear of Yahweh leads to life, then contentment; he rests and will not be touched by trouble.
敬畏耶和華的，得着生命； 他必恆久知足，不遭禍患。

Abscondit piger manum suam sub ascella , nec ad os suum applicat eam .
The sluggard buries his hand in the dish; he will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.
懶惰人放手在盤子裏， 就是向口撤回，他也不肯。

Pestilente flagellato stultus sapientior erit ; si autem corripueris sapientem , intelliget disciplinam .
Flog a scoffer, and the simple will learn prudence; rebuke one who has understanding, and he will gain knowledge.
鞭打褻慢人，愚蒙人必長見識； 責備明哲人，他就明白知識。

Qui affligit patrem , et fugat matrem , ignominiosus est et infelix .
He who robs his father and drives away his mother is a son who causes shame and brings reproach.
虐待父親、攆出母親的， 是貽羞致辱之子。

Non cesses , fili , audire doctrinam , nec ignores sermones scientiae .
If you stop listening to instruction, my son, you will stray from the words of knowledge.
我兒，不可聽了教訓 而又偏離知識的言語。

Testis iniquus deridet judicium , et os impiorum devorat iniquitatem .
A corrupt witness mocks justice, and the mouth of the wicked gulps down iniquity.
匪徒作見證戲笑公平； 惡人的口吞下罪孽。

Parata sunt derisoribus judicia , et mallei percutientes stultorum corporibus .
Penalties are prepared for scoffers, and beatings for the backs of fools.
刑罰是為褻慢人預備的； 鞭打是為愚昧人的背預備的。
