זה ספר תולדות אדם אשר ברא אלהים על הארץ ביום עשות יי אלהים ארץ ושמים:
這是亞當的紀，神在創造之日在地上造了他，神是地與天的神。

ויאמר אלהים · נעשה אדם בצלמנו כדמותנו · ויברא אלהים את האדם בצלמו · וייצר יי אלהים את האדם עפר מן האדמה ויפח באפיו נשמת חיים · ויהי האדם לנפש חיה מדבר: ויאמר יי לא טוב היות האדם לבדו אעשה לו עזר כנגדו · ויפל יי תרדמה על האדם ויישן ויסר צלע אחת מצלעותיו ויבן עליה בשר ויעש אותה לאשה ויביאה אל האדם · ויקץ אדם משנתו והנה אשה עומדת לנגדו: ויאמר זה עצם מעצמי היא ולה יקרא אשה כי מאיש לוקחה זאת: ויקרא האדם את שמה חוה כי היא היתה אם כל חי: ויברך אותם אלהים ויקרא את שמם אדם ביום הבראם: ויאמר יי אלהים פרו ורבו בארץ ומלאו את הארץ: ויקח יי אלהים את האדם ואשתו ויניחם בנן עדן לעׇבְדה ולשׇמְרה: ויצום ויאמר אליהם מכל עץ הגן אכול תאכלו: ומעץ הדעת טוב ורע לא תאכלו ממנו כי ביום אכלכם ממנו מות תמות: ויהי כאשר ברכם אלהים וכאשר צום ויעל מעליהם: וישבו האדם ואשתו בתוך הגן כמצות יי אשר צוה אותם: ויבא אליהם הנחש אשר ברא אלהים אתם בארץ ויבא אליהם להדיחם לעבור על מצות אלהים אשר צִום: ויסת הנחש ויפתה את האשה לאכול את עץ הדעת ותשמע האשה בקול הנחש: ותעבור את פי יי ותקח מעץ הדעת טוב ורע ותאכל ותקח ממנו ותתן גם לאישה ממנו ויאכל: ויעברו האדם ואשתו על מצות האלהים אשר צום וידע אלהים ויחר אפו בהם ויקללם: ויגרשם יי אלהים ביום ההוא מגן עדן לעבוד את האדמה אשר לוקחו משם וילכו וישכנו מקדם לגן עדן:
神說：「我們要照著我們的形像、按著我們的樣式造人。」神就照自己的形像造人，用地上的塵土塑成那人，將生命之氣吹進他的鼻孔。那人說：「這是我骨中的骨，她要稱為女人，因她是從男人取出的。」那人給她起名叫夏娃，因她是眾生之母。神曾說：「你喫的日子必定死。」她也把果子給了那女人所立的丈夫，她丈夫也喫了。那人和他的妻子違背了神所吩咐他們禁戒的命令，神知道了，向他們發怒，咒詛他們。當日神便將他們從天上的園中趕下，去耕種他們所從出之地，他們就去住在那園的東邊。

2:9

And Zilla her sister was barren in those days, she has no child. Because in those days men began to sin against G-d and transgress His commandments, which commanded man to raise cows and multiply in the land. And among the people, some of their wives drank barren water, so that they would stand up to their title and not deny their beauty and appearance. ויהי ביום השביעי ויעל חנוך בסערה השמיימה, בסוסי אש ורכבי אש. וישלחו כל המלכים אשר היו עם חנוך ביום השמיני לקחת את מספר האנשים אשר נשארו עם חנוך במקום אשר עלה משם השמיימה, וילכו מלאכי כל המלכים האלה אל המקום ההוא וימצאו כל הארץ מלאה שלג במקום ההוא ועל השלג אבנים גדולות מאבני שלג. ויאמרו איש אל רעהו לכו ונבקע את השלג הזה ונראה פן מתו האנשים אשר נשארו עם חנוך תחת השלג הזה, ויעשו כן ויבקשו בכל השלג ההוא וימצאו את מספר האנשים אשר היו עם חנוך מתים תחת השלג. ויבקשו את חנוך ולא מצאו, כי עלה השמיימה. ויהיו כל ימי חנוך אשר חי בארץ, שלוש מאות שנה וחמש ושישים שנה. בשנת מאה ושלוש עשרה שנה לחיי למך בן מתושלח, עלה חנוך השמיימה. ויהי בעלות חנוך השמים ויקומו כל מלכי הארץ, ויקחו את מתושלח בנו וימשחו אותו וימליכוהו עליהם תחת אביו. ויעש מתושלח הישר בעיני ה׳ ככל אשר הורהו חנוך אביו, וילמד גם הוא את בני האדם חכמה ודעת ויראת ה׳ כל ימיו לא סר מן הדרך הטובה ימין ושמאל. אך באחרית ימי מתושלח סרו בני האדם מאחרי ה׳ וישחיתו את הארץ, ויגזלו ויחמסו איש את רעהו. וימרדו באלוקים ויפשעו וישחיתו את דרכם, ולא אבו לשמוע בקול מתושלח וימרדו בו. ויקצוף ה׳ מאוד עליהם, ויוסף ה׳ וישחית את הזרע בימים ההם ואין זרע ואין קציר באדמה. והיה כאשר יזרעו את האדמה את אשר יאכלו למחייתם בארץ, ויצמחו להם קוצים ודרדרים אשר לא זרעו. ובכל זאת לא שבו בני האדם בימים ההם מדרכם הרעה, ועוד ידם נטויה לעשות הרע בעיני ה׳. ויכעיסו את ה׳ בדרכיהם הרעים, ויקצוף ה׳ מאוד וינחם כי עשה את האדם ויאמר להשחיתם ולהאבידם מעל פני האדמה ויעש להם כן. בימים ההם בהיות למך בן מתושלח בן שישים ושמונה שנים ומאה שנה, וימת שת בן אדם. ויהיו כל ימי שת אשר חי, תשע מאות שנה ושתיים עשרה שנה וימת.
